My wife is always worried I will screw something up...ever since I bricked her G1 (stupid HardSPL). I had literally rooted 6 G1's before that and just one litttttle mistake of not updating the radio first - killed it.
Now she has a HD2 and everytime I load a new rom on it she reassures me that she will take my phone if I brick it.

Sounds like the same conversation I had with my girlfriend. They just don't understand.
My GF is coming around. She always complains, "Get off your damn phone", and says, "your phone sucks" to me all the time.
She has an HTC Aria, stock, and I just keep my mouth shut. She does want me to flash some custom love on it.

I got rid of my Captivate and snagged a iPhone 4, I presume I will be banned after this post. Lol

People often balk at the idea of online petitions, but nowadays, getting enough people to complain on Facebook and Twitter will change a company's tune real quick. Look how quickly HTC changed up their bootloader policy and at how they decided to give Desire users Gingerbread after telling them it wasn't possible. Such a campaign would be the last thing T-Mobile or LG needs, especially since LG said they were counting on their Optimus line of phones to help them profit after announcing a loss last quarter. At least we know fixes are coming soon for our phone. LG promised Gingerbread to Optimus One users back in December and they haven't heard a peep since then...

I'm a more than satisfied G2x owner who has no issues with their phone.
I'm most certainly in. Let's create a little twitter hashtag for everyone to use. Kind of like #NeverAgain.
Now, I know some people will be out because "its the best phone (they've) owned. That's fine. I just want a phone that works.

As with all devices, most users are not knowledgable of XDA, and don't browse the forums. So, this is a minority, probably, but we feel as though the problems exist universally.
I'm getting a Sensation, it's on the way. I'm keeping my G2X until the update. Now that I have the clarity of no more screw ups in my future, I can wait. If they get the bugs out of this phone it will be the best thing out there. And I'll come back in a flash.

Yeah.. was at breakfast with a friend and tried to install the new scottrade app so I could sell a stock that was tanking.. wouldn't install cuz outta space.. tried deleting a couple programs and still wasn't enough room. I coulda used the web browser and logged in but that is always a pain.. I've done it a few times in the past .. just really painstaking yet possible. Anyway I waited till I got to work and sold the stock. Bottom line.. if the app woulda installed like it would have on any other phone I would have lost 2,500 less. I never had this issue with my evo.. or hd2.. or iphone.. or palm pre or HTC diamond. SGS4g is on my sh*tlist today!!

what happened when it tried to download? because if you dont have enough space it wont let you donwload it anyways and you would get a warning from the device anyways that you have low space.....
Since you knew today was going to be pretty volatile, you should have tried to install it before breakfast. Sounds like you cost yourself $2500

I wanted to say thank you so much to all the wonderful devs here for all of their efforts making the Captivate a better phone than Samsung could. Please don't flame me, this isn't a knock on the Captivate, I loved the device even with it's flaws. I will miss the Captivate forum, yesterday I jumped to T-Mobile, better rates and they have dual core phones. I got an HTC Sensation and I love it.I will miss my Cappy but I couldn't deal with Samsung's shortfalls any longer, I want a device that works as it should out of the box. I also would like timely updates which AT&T proved they suck at providing. Happy flashing to all and thanks for the wonderful support provided by the community.

You can't blame the hardware for crappy made software from the service provider or user error from bricking. I have never done anything that I couldn't fix and that wasn't my fault...
The fact that you CAN make it better by flashing new software proves that the hardware is adequate. The only thing you could perhaps complain about is gps but if you're that dependent on it maybe you should take some time learning your way around...
