the problem was actually on a bluetooth speaker i have. i opened it and had to trim the circutboard to make the board and speaker fit in a very small area and i had to cut off the volume + button from the circutboard and i lowered the volume on accident and could not raise the volume to were i can hear it thats why i wanted to raise the max volume for the bluetooth but after messing with a small strand of copper wire i was able to pull a macgyver and raise the volume back up

If you really want it to be a lot louder and distorted just go to the android market and download the free "Galaxy Tuner" has a lot of options for other stuff besides just the sound/volume and so on.....

[Q] Earpiece Call Volume

Hey,
Does anyone know a way to boost the earpiece volume on the Nexus S, mine seems to be a bit low. I have have DSP manager and Voodo on my phone, but I haven't found any settings in those apps for the earpiece.
Thanks in advance for any help or tips,
Andres

I was just getting ready to an identical post - I'm really surprised that this has not been a more common post thus far -- maybe I'm getting old and my hearing is suffering but given the other phones that I've had lately this is the worst one for earpiece volume in the last couple of years.
I asked super about this on twitter said its gonna be in ver8

Isn't this an identical thread ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041712
As I stated there too, it could be a phone-related issue. Go to the store and tell them to give you another one. If that one is louder, then it was an issue with the previous phone. If it has the same issue, then ask for another one. This issue is present on many other phones, including Sony Ericsson's. Check Google for this.
Het everyone,
I tried lowering the volume in the middle of a call and then increasing it and it seems to fix the issue. Try it and let me know if it works for you.

Hey lambda30,
Thanks for the link, but that thread discusses headset volume not earpiece volume. DSP manager already supports boosting headset volume.

Andres

Oh, I didn't notice the difference between the threads, sorry, my bad. In that case, in my story, I had a problem with the earpiece, not the headset. So, I had a problem like yours, in this thread.
And no, lowering the volume in the middle of a call didn't change anything. The refund for the phone did, lol.

Earpiece call volume low - any fix?

Hey guys,
I love my Charge, but do wish the earpiece volume was louder. Anyone know of an app hack/fix that can increase handset earpiece volume?

Oops, haha, fixed the OP.
I want the earpiece louder if possible. Either through app or developer hack.
Is this possible?
Really? My earpiece is loud already. If I put it on max, people around me would be able to hear my conversation.
It is possible. I believe it was done on the Vibrant or maybe it was the G1. I'm pretty sure it was the Vibrant though.
Voodoo sounds seems louder to me but you need to be rooted and with a supporting kernel for that to work(I think) I did see some apps on the market but not sure if they work or not

Can't hear the caller

Hi,
My Samsung Omnia i8350 was working great but suddenly today I can't hear the caller at all, although they can hear me. Tried everything from changing the SIM to calling different carriers but no luck.
I hope there's a fix for this?
Thanks!
Yes. The fix name is the "manufacturer's warranty".

Hmm, it's a pity... BTW, did you tried Bluetooth or regular headsets (headphones)? Or wait... Check first - may be you accidently paired with Bluetooth device/headphones?
I would definitely suggest trying both headphones and a headset.
Also, silly question, but did you chek the in-call volume? It's different from the volume used in the rest of the phone (it's the *only* different volume meter the OS has, somewhat to my annoyance). I know I've accidentally pressed and held the volume-down rocker while on a call a time or two.

How loud can it go on headphones?

Yo.
I need an answer on this. Can this phone go loud on headphones? Opinions are very mixed... How is it compared to Moto G?
I heard there are newer versions of N5, did they change something with volume or not? Maybe Android updates does something to it?
Pls notice that I'm talking about headphone out, not speakers.
Mine goes very loud. I also use viper4android though.
There is only one version of the n5

trollop thinks he's funny
could someone say how it is without v4a, just stock phone?
Not running stock but it's plenty loud. There's a mod and an app to let you change the mixer_paths. The DAC still isn't the greatest but at least you can turn up the volume.

Could you please tell me what this app is called?
So I can basically install it, change some numbers in mixer_paths and get higher than stock volume WITHOUT DISTORTION? That would be great!
Here you go
Loud enough to blow my ears out on max volume lol. It depends on your headphones too anyways.

In what unit of measure? Decibels? The output partially depends on your headphones and rigging up a decibel meter isn't exactly going to yield great results. Also, if I answered in decibels, I don't think you'd be we to process the information usefully.
..and that is why trollop was funny. You asked an unanswerable question. 11 is as valid as anything else because there is no unit of measure that answers the question that you could possibly understand.

Dont think so but we'll see
I just got this phone last night and spent the morning rooting it to install viper4android and Im pretty disappointed at how low the volume is with this phone even with everything maxed. My $40 budget Samsung blew this thing out of the water volume wise.
Is there no way to mod any of the sound files to get more volume from the DAC? I notice there is no default_gain.conf like Samung phones and Mixer_paths.xml is blank. This is a great phone but the sound is an absolute bummer.

Pair V4A with Dolby Atmos. This is what I did and volume drastically increased.
Thanks for the heads up I'll check that out.

He already did.
After adding Atmos to the v4a I was able to get a small increase by turning on virtualizer and volume leveler. It's still not too my liking but it definitely is better which I am grateful for.
There is nothing you can edit manually as far as gain or headphone volume in any config/XML files on this thing? These audio apps are able to make a difference but it's nowhere near enough. On my phone the 2/3 volume to full volume really doesn't change at all only the slider changes position.
some dev could pls try to port stereo speakers mod which is available for mi 3 which makes earpiece has speaker
