[Q] Less internal memory after restoring backup - HTC Inspire 4G

Hi all. Here is my situation.
I was running Ninja716 rom. A fellow xda member had some questions about gingerbeast so i made a backup of my setup and restored my old gingerbeast backup. Later that day(yesterday) i flashed back my backup to Ninja. Noticed that i there was an update for an app and tried installing it. it failed so i went in to manage applications and cleared market cache and that fixed it. But while i was there i noticed that my storage use was higher normal. it was a 70mb difference.
Normally i have about 90mb of internal storage use out of the 1 gb. After restoring the backup it was up to 165mb in use. today i flashed back my same gingerbeast backup to test something checked the storage use and its up even more now up to 182mb. Anyone experience this?
I have tried full wiping before the restore and no difference. I saw this happend a while back with a previous restore but it wasnt a big deal as dill released a new version of gingerbeast and i like clean installs so that took care of it. Its not really a big issue as i still have lot of space left but just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this.
Here is my setup:
current rom:
Ninja 716
Lordmod 6.0.1 BFS kernal
4.11.m2 radio
Gingerbeast 2.1.2
default kernal
CWR-3.0.2.6

Titanium Backup not working! Help!

bump, Anyone?
Are you trying to batch restore missing apps and data? Where is your backup saved to? I save mine to my micro sdcard (and dropbox) so it is safe from any data loss my Xoom internal storage might experience.

Apps on sd card issues

I've been having a problem as of late and I was hoping maybe someone could offer some explanation, advice, etc.
Last Friday, after a full wipe, I flashed Liquid Gingerbread 3.0 after running 2.6 forever. I use My Backup Pro to backup and restore app data. I do not use it for anything else (no system data, etc.). I installed all my Apps from apks I had, then restored app data with My Backup Pro.
I then proceeded to move apps to sd with Apps2sd like I usually do. Everything seemed to be okay until I noticed a while later that apps moved to the card started disappearing, but the app data was remaining on the sd and the coms were still listed as installed. I uninstalled Apps2sd and reinstalled the apps, noticing that large apps (10 + mb) were installing directly to the sd. I checked the settings and made sure internal was set for app installations and tried again. Large apps were still installing directly to the sd.
Thinking that maybe I didn't wipe properly (lol) I did another full wipe (system, data, cache, davlik) and reflashed LGB 3.0. I did the same process as above with installing and restoring app data. I rebooted my phone to find that large Apps were still installing directly to the sd, and still disappearing and still leaving behind data on the sd.
I thought it was a ROM issue at this point so I did another full wipe and flashed iBolt 0.9. Still having the same problem so I know it's my phone.
I have a few ideas of what is happening but I don't know how to fix it. Is there something on my sd card that is affecting the way apps are installed? Is there a cm7 setting I'm missing somewhere that is affecting it? Are my wipes somehow leaving behind remnants? I know this is long but I was trying to be as specific as possible in hopes of some feedback. If someone has any ideas as to what is happening I'll try anything to see if it fixes it.
My apologies if there is a thread about this already here but Tapatalk search is seriously lacking.

The problem is below you. Lock your apps or DC will take your apps 2 !!

can't find my apps!

I flashed the EOS 1.0 rom and now how ICS! Before I flashed I backed up my HC internal storage. I loaded the backup onto my xoom running ICS, but can't find any apps from the backup. Furthermore, on the app store (android and amazon) it says I have all the apps installed, but I sure can't find them! Any ideas?
Web android store says I have apps on my phone from when I first got it - 4 wipes ago. So that's flawed.
Also, you backed up to internal..? EOS 1.0 is a full ROM, not just update like night lies. So when you installed it, everything got deleted.

[Q] Asus App Backup broken after ICS

Did OTA update to ICS on stock B90, then rooted with vipermod. Root is confirmed. Now I'm looking to backup installed apps and user data using the Asus App Backup app. Everything sets up fine, password entered. 21 apps + data selected, file named, etc. Get message that it will take about 10 minutes to complete. Pathnames are correct, folders are present, permissions seem ok. Runs for about 10 seconds, comes back with " 0 Successful " and 21 failed. Red x's by all selected apps. Any ideas?
Ultimate goal is to backup apps and data, then do a factory reset to clear cache and data from HC, maybe even do a stock recovery to ICS then set everything back up. Trying to see if this will clear up any of the annoyances that came with ICS update.

Yeaah.....
Well I don't really have a solution but i'm certainly experiencing the same trouble u have I Did OTA update to ICS on stock, then rooted with vipermod number 1 option on the vipermod. Root is confirmed. Im trying to restore a previous backup I did and no luck error message is "Failed to restore.please try again"
I just ran a backup of 10 apps to test it on Revolver 4.0.0 Beta 1.31 ICS. Worked perfectly for me.
You can try going to Settings - Apps - App Backup - Force Close then Clear Data
Then try running the backup again.
Just for reference it's worked great for me twice on rooted ICS (stock) from rooted HC (stock). Good luck.
Where are you storing the backup, internal SD or external (microSD)? Encountered this one before until I found out that there wasn't enough space in the microSD. Suggest try to back up first on the internal SD and copy it later when it's successful. On ICS, I had done two backup and restore and all went well.

Backup path is set to internal, with a copy going to external microSD. MicroSD is 32GB and hardly anything on it, so room shouldn't be a problem. Might try without creating a copy file, and sending it over manually.
Tried that and failed again. So it would seem that it just doesn't like writing the apps and data. When I look in the Asus/App_Backup directory, it creates folders for all the apps, but then doesn't write anything to the folders. Interesting.

Are you trying to write data from a honeycomb backup onto ics? That's not going to work and even if it did would hose your ics.......

No....trying to create backup of apps after ICS update so I can do factory reset. I actually went ahead and did the factory reset last night, and got everything back from Amazon and Google markets, not too painful, but still would like to know what's up with the backup utility.

How? Do you mean that you fixed it BY flashing Revolver 4, or that you fixed it first, then flashed, then restored?
I'm on a B90, so not really looking for flashing ROMS right now, as nvflash doesn't work.

Help with TWRP and Nandroid Backup?

Hi all, I've been having an issue with TWRP in that my backup size is huge. The data partition takes up about 8gb compressed and over 14 uncompressed. This is an absurdly large amount, does anyone know why it is this big? I tried clearing a lot of apps and space but the difference was negligible.
Also, managed to get just enough space to run a backup but deleting more than I'd have liked to, but then the backup keeps failing because i get the "createTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255".
Can anyone help me address my issues? This is the last step i have before flashing a new rom.
I'm running TWRP 3.0.0 on my D850 with CloudyG3 2.2
My backup is also above 8 gb.that's normal.
Try to create at least 10 gb before restoring.use otg to have backup on flash drive.it would help you.
