[Q] Anyone having issues where the Charge Screen turns black and freezes after photo? - Verizon Droid Charge

My Droid Charge is freezing randomly when I take a picture with it. After hitting the shutter button the screen goes black and unresponsive. I have to pull the battery in order to restart the phone.
Is anyone else having this issue?
EDIT:
Yes, I am stock. Running Widget Locker and Launcher Pro.

More infomation about your setup: Are you stock? If not what ROM and kernel? Are you undervolting?

similar issue
I have a similar issues sometimes with games and random apps on my stock rom. For the camera though I would start by unchecking the review option under settings and see if that helps at all.

Yes I am stock. Thank you.

This happens to me as well. Very random. I have only noticed it happening when I had the LED flash on. This happened to me while I was on imnut's debloated ee4 rom and humble 1.2

Yes, I have had this happen. I am currently running the stock ROM with the PBJ voodoo kernel. I have also had this happen when running completely stock.

I thought that this may have been a ROM issue but since you guys are having similar problems while stock, it appears to be an issue with our phones. We may want to report these problems to VZ/Samsung for a possible fix.

Going through the VZ forums, I see that this is actually a common issue.
I suggest that anyone else who is having this problem voices their concerns on their support site as well

No sound on touch screen

Have the Thunderbolt set up for making sound when touching screen. The screen will work as it should and then without reason it will get very soft and sometimes completely stop making any sound. Checked all my settings and they are as they should be. I also have the Sensation and the screen is set up the same way and it works properly. Is there something I'm overlooking or is this another bug?? Any help would be welcomed. Running stock Thunderbolt.
Thanks,
restart phone and go from there

It's a bug of some kind. I've had it since the day I bought my TBolt(Launch Day). I think the reason its not heard about much is because most users don't use the screen sound option and also because a lot of users here and at AC root and flash custom roms.
I'm still running launch day software because it just works for me for the way i use my device.... this being the only bug that affects me. I rooted and flashed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013577
and the issue went away so if it really bothers you I would go that direction. I assume other custom roms fix it as well but I cannot comment as the above is the only rom I flashed before going back stock and un-rooting.
Thanks for your input, checked other sites and found other people with same issue. Going to root this thing anyways and I'm sure the new Rom will fix the issue. Might check out the one you downloaded, looks pretty fast.
Thanks again.

[Q] Can't wake phone up

Hi everyone,
I am running into an issue where after making a call, if the call ends with the screen still off (either because of proximity sensor or in pocket cause of bluetooth), I can't seem to turn it back on again. I tried searching (both internal search and google search of xda) and I can't seem to find anything. Any thoughts?

Are you running an overclocked kernel or custom rom? Sounds like you are experiencing the dreaded SoD...sleep of death. Just hold the power button down and reboot your phone. It's intermittent and happens once in a while. I would say flash a stock kernel and see if it fixes it. Some people don't get the SoD often and some do.

Interesting. I just got the phone two days ago and have seen little on SOD. I've been reading the forum going back a ways, but never saw what it actually was. Thanks for the heads up and the possible fix. As a side note, I am running Da_g's .42 beta kernel on skyrocketeer.

[Q] Problem with the screen!

Hi everyone, my mom's g2x screen has been acting weird lately (although mom has never noticed). Every 5-10 minutes it would be unresponsive, nothing can be touched UNLESS you press the back button, which makes the screen responsive again.
Does anyone else have this problem? And how should I fix it?
The phone is currently rooted but running 2.3.3 (v21e) stock on the [July15 2011] baseband. Would flashing a custom rom fix this? Any help will be appreciated!

Reset to factory defaults. That's probably a program becoming unresponsive in the foreground.

Sounds like when I'm watchin netflix and i hit home button to pause movie and read a text , netflix is killing the touch key lights so i lag out horribly until i exit netflix properly.
G2x-temasek CM7 build135.3 w/faux 054 kernel
With faux kernels if your touchkey brightness is forced to off then it'll lag horribly.
If it isn't that... then must be an app.
open boot menu-click factory reset
it is freezing

Its running stock kernel, not faux so it must be an app. I'll factory reset and see what happens, thanks for the help guys!

I have 2 strange problems need input.

First problem is random reboot when taking pictures with a flash. By randomly I mean it doesnt always happen but sometimes it does and when it happens it keeps on happening until I give it a break. It only happens with flash. I am running matrix kernel but I have confirmed this has happened with a friend of mine who is running completely stock. I have also experienced this with third party camera app.
Another problem is random "refresh" of the screen like basically its an animation where whatever is on the screen "goes back" and "comes back" again. Its like a split second thing and there is no other delay like I keep using the phone the way it is.
I am running 4.1.2 on i9023 with matrix kernel. I am sure that the refresh problem wasnt there in 4.1.1 but I am not sure if it immediately started happening after 4.1.2. And I am also not really sure about the camera thing as I dont use it that often. I do remember it happened before but cant be sure what version it was.
Anybody else have such problems?

Regarding the random "refresh" of the screen, I believe everyone has that. That's just normal for the phone. Nothing really you can do about it, not that I've seen any.
About the flash making the phone reboot, Have you tried clearing all the cache and dalvik cache? Also if that doesn't solve it, have you also tried flashing a new ROM? That specific ROM or kernal may be the problem. I know that Matrix kernals tend to have a slight problem with the camera. I speak from experience cause my Nexus S used to force close the camera app with Matrix kernal.
Let me know if this solve's anything.

Bomboholic
Thanks a lot mate good to know that the refresh thing is normal as it doesn't really bother me but just wanted to confirm if it's normal.
The friend of mine is not running matrix but ill try to experiment with things to figure this out. In the meantime if anyone is facing this camera reboot issue then please chime in.

Random reboot during youtube use.

So, I've been having issues with getting reboots. Usually during the night when using the phone to play during sleep. I've had Oneplus reinstall the rom, I've reinstalled it, started from scratch, but every night it still reboots. Youtube is the only thing that I can think of. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had issues like this. Oneplus is probably going to have me pull logs and see what's going on.

Using that, it's software, like I figured. Just wish I could get logs and someone who understands them to help figure out what I need to do to stop it.

It does pass. However I am not sure how to pull the logs from the 6. I would really appreciate the help, as this is an annoying issue. Feel free to message me if you like.
I have a similar problem as well.
On Stock rom:
Stable with no reboot or freeze. Battery drains very fast though. 50% with screen off overnight.
On Stock room with any custom kernel (Smurf, Franco, ElementalX):
Phone periodically reboots. Not sure where to get reboot logs. When I check logcat, can see many errors pertaining to lights and memory not able to free up. Not sure if it's wifi related or not. When phone is plugged in, it does NOT REBOOT
On any custom roms (AOSPEx, Havoc, LOS etc):
Phone freezes with white LED. Happens usually within 10 minutes with screen off. After troubleshooting, turns out WiFi causes the issue. With WiFi off, phone is stable for as much as 12 hours and more. Battery is excellent. When phone is plugged in, it does NOT FREEZE even with WiFi on.
Not sure why WiFi is causing issue for all the custom ROMs I tested out there.
Currently I'm using stock rom and manually debloated and with Magisk.
If anyone has a clue on the freezing issue with customer rom is much appreciated.
