WiFi not working?
I just installed this Rom and now wireless is not working any suggestions?
EDIT: It was my router config all is well.
Gps Issues
I love this Rom but I can't get my gps to work very well. I tried Lee's and cyno just didn't like them but the GPS worked. I really don't want to have to switch away from it just because I can't use apps that use my gps ( mapmyrun, google latitude)
Sometimes, it will work with an accuracy of like 800-2000 ft after fixing for 10-15 minutes. I have tried every solution on the Android Revolution F.A.Q section Q.14. It worked fine before and if I switch to a different ROM. Also, I have tried apps like GPS FIX, Faster fix, and Gps essentials. My radio is the suggested one for the ROM.
Any ideas I'm desperate?
Also I have noticed when trying this fix.

Under my
gps.conf file (inside system\etc):
I have no gps.conf file at all.
Any ideas?
So my question.. By far ARHD is my favorite rom, the only issue I'm having is that every once in awhile when i try to unlock the phone it won't respond the anything. The only way to get it to turn on again is a battery pull. I remember when I had my captivated I had similar issues but muuuuch worse. I followed the flashing directions line by line and did a full wipe. The last time it happened was today right before I updated to 5.2.4 so ill see if this makes it any better. Any ideas why this is happening, does my processor not like OC and I need to scale it down? Other than that I love everything about the rom thanks in advance for any help.
Does anybody have any idea why I can't set a permanent screen lock? It's like everytime I set a pattern lock or PIN lock, it works once then no longer requires a pattern or PIN to unlock my phone depending on which one I chose to use. Any help would be appreciated.

That is a good guess. Test it out by scaling it down and monitoring what the behavior is. Mike's rom should be set at 1.152gHz out of the box. That is not high at all but every phone is different and if you have yours set higher your particular phone may not like it.

That is a strange one. Mine works with no problems on AR. Sorry I could not give you a better clue as to why this is happening. Possibly try flashing again to see if that solves it. Either that or do you have any lock switch type apps that may be causing some kind of problem?

Hmm. I don't have any type of apps that could cause this and I've already tried flashing it again but the problem still persists. Oh well, no biggie. Thanks for the reply.

After you set the pattern or pin did you change the inactivity setting? I believe default is it will only lock after 5 minutes of inactivity. After you set the pattern/pin the second setting down is "Lock phone after" then gives you the selections immediately, 3 mins, 5 mins and so on. Make sure its set to immediately. That would be my best guess from the info you provided.

I am currently using this rom and I think its great. The only problem I've had was downloading from the Android market. But it started to work all of a sudden a few days ago.
Thanks for the ROM. Great work.
Well, I just upgraded from 5.2.5 (which I installed this morning) to 5.2.6... very smooth upgrade.
Well, mostly smooth anyway. I have the sense 3.0 lockscreen installed and although it works in terms of pulling the ring up to unlock, there are no icons (and yes, I have configured the ones I want there) and no matter which lockscreen I choose under personalizations, I just get the same background I have on my home screen with no icons, no clock, no weather, no nothin'. I did so a SuperWipe when I installed 5.2.5 this morning, but the dev's notes say you don't have to SuperWipe if you are installing over another 5.2 release.
Incidentally, I saw the exact same misbehavior under 5.2.5 and was hoping it might get fixed.
Other than that it seems to run real well though. Is the 3.0 lockscreen working for others?
Installed the "Restore HTC Lock-Screen for Android Revolution HD 5.2.x " mod to revert to the non sense 3.0 lockscreen, and it works, but I notice that under "personalize -> lockscreen" it still shows the sense 3.0 ones, and lets you modify and select one, but it doesn't work.
Although I normally use an external bluetooth GPS, I just tested the internal one with 5.2.6 and it locked on quickly and gave about 16' accuracy.
I've been using this ROM for the past few days and I think its great.
However, I didn't flash a new radio (the one suggested on the thread). Is that alright? Will I see a huge difference flashing a new radio over the stock one?
does the new APN trick work with AR HD for the wifi tethering?
Hi all,
just bought an Inspire off CL, and unfortunately didn't reallize that the screen won't rotate. I trired recalibrating, but it kept being aborted even though I put the phone flat on the table on its back. A search turned up tons of complaints from about a year ago with few resolutions, and none worked for me (reboot, recalibrate, kill all apps with adv task killer, switch sim card, etc.)
So the big question is, would rooting the phone and flash custom rom solve the problem? Has anyone solved the problem with the g-sensor?
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
Is the phone rooted? Some roms have customizations to lock the screen and keep it from rotating. Do any screens rotate? Or is the home screen just not rotating?
Try going to home> settings> display and check auto rotate screen.
Sent from Soundwave aboard Nemesis.
Auto-rotate is checked. Apps the should rotate (e.g. Google search, email) don't rotate, and most frustrating is that games that use the g-sensor just won't work. The phone is running stock Gb 2.3.3.

If not rooted I would root and try a custom rom would hurt nothing. But make sure you use Ace Hack Kit and no out of XDA method. Also read, read, then read the Effen manual and make sure your knowledged on the steps for rooting. If you get stuck anywhere there is an IRC chat connection in the Ace Hack Kit page.
The thing about buying used phones from someone else is like buying a used car. Your basically buying some elses headache.
The other option would be to return to seller for money back, your option.
PS: If you decide to try out a ICS ROM remember that the kernels are not fully released as of yet so some games will not fully work and do have a few bugs depending on how it reacts with your phone. For gingerbread I would try a few out and see which one you like.
(Absolution 3.7 , Coredroid 9.4) lol my preference but thats a can a worms you dont want to open here on XDA by asking which is best ROM so dont.
Welcome and Enjoy the learning.
Ok, so all the reading made the rooting process seem somewhat intimidating. However, when I actually screwed up the courage to do it, it was like, that's it? It's donde in under 5 minutes, and I hardly did anything!
So the good news is that the phone is now rooted and flashed with coredroid (looks nice!). The bad news is that there's no change in the problem with the g-sensor! I'm starting to suspect that it's more likely hardware. In any case, I wonder if there are any Roms that might have a better shot at fixing the problem? Somehow I have the probably wrong impression that a custom rom that's modded from stock aren't likely to fix my problem... Any suggestions?

Yeah, if you had a sensor problem before the root and it persists after, it is more then likely a hardware issue and no amount of rooting/flashing a new ROM is gonna fix it. If you're under warranty, unroot and send it back for a replacement.

Did you look in setting for rotation display settings. Some launchers like adw launcher lets you also check and uncheck rotation angles. All roms are great in their own way, try a few on for size but I would give them each at least a week or two of testing. A day or two is not really enough to get the feel of them. You can try Absolution 3.7 , Redemption Alpha 6 (ICS) , or even go over to the Desire HD Dev section and try out - Ice Cold Sandwich 7.2 (ICS) (also dont forget to flash inspirmod as well with this one). Also these three will get rid of the stock look.
Good Luck
The phone was bought off craigslist, so no hope of return or warranty. Rotate sreen in settings has been checked, as well as g-sensor calibration (which invariably ends in abort, even after rooting and flashing coredroid. I might try absolution in a few days.
The phone is for my son, and he cares a lot more whether the accelerometer works (for games) than how nice the rom looks.
One problem I found after flashing coredroid is that even at boot up tbe email app keep crashing (without me opening the app). Anyone knows whats up with this?

Did you do a full wipe (factory, cache partition, dalvik) before flashing rom. Coredroid has a zip called full wipe 1.5 as well.
I flashed absolution, and it didn't help with the g-sensor problem at all. I put coredroid back, this time wiping data and cache, and the email problem went away. I guess my son will have to live with the g-sensor as is. Thanks to everyone who replied for the suggestions.

Been contemplating for a while whether to post this as it will come off as rather trollish. Had my Infuse for over a year now. When I first got it I noticed there were some "issues". I remained patient hoping or thinking maybe when GB was released it would improve. It did not. Later I needed to root this phone and came here, found a ROM that had all the AT&T junk stripped out. Phone worked better, but still had these issues.
I got to the point that I knew I would never again purchase either a Samsung phone or Android. Did not know what the culprit was. Just recently I had the chance to really take a look at an HTC EVO, and I realized that Samsung is the problem, not Android.
Number one issue is that this phone is sluggish, and sometimes unresponsive. I will touch whatever button and get that vibrating acknowledgement, but nothing happens. I will be in the app menu and wish to exist and the home button just does not respond.
Yesterday I missed a call because the bloody phone just did not respond, even though I touched the answer button. Other times I just can not make a call. I dial number, and the phone just sits there doing nothing. Eventually I just pull out the battery and restart the phone to make a simple bloody call. I had a HTC WinMo phone for years and never once experienced this. No matter how farked the OS could get with some app or whatever, the phone function always worked.
I do not run a lot of apps, and recently have experienced these issues with almost literally no apps installed. I will then add something like GO taskmanger just to confirm that the unresponsive behavior is not due to some app taking up memory/CPU etc..
Sorry for the long post, but I am at my wits end with this bloody phone. The fact that I miss calls when the **** phone is right in my hand is unacceptable. So before placing this phone in a box filled with C4 and shooting this to the moon, hoping that maybe a solution is out there.
p.s. I have 2 Infuse in use, both have the same issue.
What firmware are you running?
Is it the same firmware on both phones?
What is the launcher?
Have you tried a different modem?
Are you using a battery saver like juice defender?
Are you using an ad blocker?
Are you using a specific kernel? Oc? Uv?
Need for specific info

You know, for the rather lengthy post, you really have not explained any detail about your issue.. You have a generic 'I have an issue, the Infuse sucks' post and its not going to help anyone resolve your issue. I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that you have 2 infuses having the SAME EXACT ISSUE. Yes, there will be times when you get a defective phone or it isnt working up to your standards, but to have 2 defective phones with the same defect? You need to play the lottery. Also, i suggest you send the phones back. It sounds like youve already made your mind up and have pretty much bashed the samsung infuse in that entire post. The same samsung infuse that myself, and plenty of other people live with day to day and have absolutely 0 complaints.
I will give you $20.00 a piece for them!!!!

Simple . Hack it and put cm7 on it if you really need speed. Maybe its your screen protecter. Wipe the screen off. Cm9 can be sluggish, for speed go to miui on gingerbread or cm7
Id be willing to buy one of the infuses
Trust me...sounds like you got two defective units...which like Scott, I find hard to believe...but hey its possible-idk when you got hem.but if it hasn't been a year then put them back to stock with gtgs unbrick and file a warranty claim with Samsung...the infuse is a great phone and I never had the problem you described...I do have a question though...did you get them both at the same time? Cause I don't see why you would get a second if your first was having problems
Anyways...if you wanna sell one hmu...I may buy one depending on the price and if I can get the money (I think I already may have one lined up for $170 just need to get the money)

Again this has been a recurring problem since purchase, and during this time I have had stock Froyo, rooted Froyo ROM, GB update, and for one now a the GB rooted ROM.
When the slow to unresponsiveness occurs there does not appear to be any specific cause. Prior to updating to the rooted GB I had used GO Taskmanager, and long before that some other app I long since forgot the name of. Point was that they had shown that neither CPU was excessive, or memory was used up. Both phones have data services disabled and are strictly Wifi only. There are no tasks or extra programs run in the background (though did install Connectbot today). I no longer use any Live wallpaper. After updating to the rooted GB I left the phone in that state (no software installed) for a week or so, and the problem still occured.
This occurs when calling or answering calls, but as previously posted occurs sometimes just opening the Applications menu as an example. So it is not a specific task or program that is slow or unresponsive. Earlier this evening I got a call, slide the bar across to answer and the screen just hung there for a few moments. This time it was at least not long enough that I missed the call. When the call was done I looked and there simply was nothing running on the phone. No apps, no web browser or mail, in fact I was not even connected to the wifi (I have data 3G/4G service disabled on the phone).
are you completely wiping before every flash youve done? have you tried a complete wipe and start from fresh?

Task manager is NOT the best app to tell you what is running in the background.
Maps and other location apps may not be listed but will consume resourse that can be the cause of your lag.
The fact that stopping wallpaper or live wall paper off alleviate the condition may suggest that the phone is running at max capacity. Steps to reduce the load improves it. Live wp, facebook, maps, stock email and other device manager from stock att was one of the first @#$% I took out on any rom I run.
Having a large amount of apps installed can also cause this lag. The OS may only be able to handle so many.
Have a poor signal at the time of the call may also be an issue, especially if both of your phones have this issue occasionally but not consistently.
Lock screen can also be a factor. Some sleep setting may also cause the phone to wake up poorly. I get around this by turning off my lock screen. On the call settings, you can also change the answering options so that it will override others and make it easy to answer.
On any firmware - stock or modded, after you have the phone running for an extended period of time without a reboot, you may start to see some lags. This may be across all devices. You may need to reboot it occasionally or boot into recovery and wipe the cache.
These issues may or not go away once you have a device with more power or resources..ex: dual or quad core, 1gb or 2gb ram etc..my guess is when a device has more power, programmers will come up with more resourse intensive apps that may hinder the phone as well.
Lastly, pay attention to your battery meter. As the power dips below 30%, there are steps taken by the OS to conserve the battery. This may give you lags as well..possibly one of the reason why it seems random also.
If you wanted to test out the lag issue due to background apps, go to settings/account and sync. turn off background data. You will retain the (radio) phone and text but there will be no email/facebook, weather, widgets/market/amazon etc updates unless you manually update them. If this runs smoothly but lags when you turn it back on, you can start the process of narrowing down your culprit.

So I have had my s3 since around the 10th and I've loved it so far. Lately I have been having issues that surly aren't annoying but on the other hand im not exactly sure if a software update would fix anyone of these things. As of now I am not rooted at all and everything is stock. These are my main problems for the phone
1.) While texting on stock messaging app (I just love the stock app) the keyboard constantly freezes up while im texting
2.) Screen flickers yet not too drastically
3.) For some reason when I try to set my custom vibration pattern it only stays as the basic call vibration and only changes when im getting a phone call.
Like I said these issues really aren't drastic and im not sure if it really warrants a replacement phone at all. I talked to the VZW tech support and she said that its up to me really because I am deff able to get one for these issues. The only thing that made me have second thoughts was the fact that she said most likely im getting a "certified like new phone" meaning that its basically been used before and im not sure if I should really trust it. Anyways im really on the fence about this so if anyone can give me some in sight id really appreciate it.
ps: I did factory resets and everything and it still has not fixed these issues

Sounds like something isn't right and about to go bad to me. I'd call VZW support and see if they will replace it.
Did you reflash stock image from Samsung site? I would try that before taking a chance of getting a CLN phone for the same reasons as you.

They already confirmed that they are able to do so
Go-to the development sub forum and read the stickies. If it is your first time, I would even print them out and follow the instructions step by step.

Ok thanks ill do just that. My final question now is does this count as rooting my phone? just in case I do end up sending back my phone I dont want there to be any problems with it
Turn off Settings | Display | Auto adjust screen tone to address the flicker problem.
The keyboard is probably searching predictive text; I've only used the stock KB for a few minutes. Wife and I use SwiftKey without any problems (including right now).
I have vibration disabled completely, so I can't even guess on that one (I can't even find the option you're talking about and I know I've seen it before!)

Anyways im really on the fence about this so if anyone can give me some in sight id really appreciate it.

reason #2 is enough to try and get it swapped.
That is a hardware issue, and will only get worse.
I have had a dozen smartphones, and anything that CONNECTS stuff (headphone jack to the motherboard, cables connecting screens etc) only get worse until they stop working entirely.
Good luck!

Flashing the stock image through Odin is not the same as rooting your phone. It would not trip the flash counter so you could still return it if you wish.

If it is a hardware issue and not the setting I mentioned, I agree, definitely return it without hesitation.

Ya thanks for the suggestion I tried changing the setting yet the flicker isn't going away. Like I said its nothing big and if you aren't paying attention it isn't really that apparent it is there but your right I think I better exchange it before anything happens thanks for all the advice =)
I've seen several posts in different ROM threads talking about proximity sensor issues, and I think I have your fix.
Awhile ago, back when I was on CM10, I noticed that my proximity sensor was no longer functioning as expected. The screen would remain on when I was on phone calls, and would stay black for long periods of time after hanging up.
I initially chalked it up to a CM10 issue, but when I flashed back to a Sense ROM, the issue remained. Eventually, I discovered this app...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incredicontrol.ProxSensorCalibrator&hl=en
...and it worked perfectly.
The best thing to do is start up the app and see if it says "NEAR" or "FAR" at the bottom, then move your hand close and further from your phone to see when it changes. To be completely honest, I don't entirely understand what the settings in the app correspond to - I just played with the settings until the "NEAR" and "FAR" labels appeared at what I believed was the correct time. The attached screenshot shows the settings that ended up working for me.
Sure enough, I have no proximity issues now - except when I recently flashed LiquidSmooth, and forgot to re-run this app. As soon as I re-calibrated, it worked great again. So, this fix isn't permanent - you have to keep this app installed, and it has to be set to run on boot. You also have to have root for it to work its magic.
Hope this helps some of you out there!
Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to give this a shot. I've had issues like you had on all 4.2 ROMs with s2w. My issue does go away when I go to something different though. Still gonna give it a whirl though and see if it helps.
Oh well, it doesn't look like my calibration is off. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Yeah, I think the s2w bug may be something different entirely, but it can't hurt to check.

Thank you. I hated hitting the wrong button with automatic machines. Will try this out. I am also on liquid smooth so I may try the same settings. Thanks!

Worked for me! Thank you
Hitting the thanks button is probably enough, rather than digging up an old thread by commenting on it.

There are problems with the proximity sensor.
The application worked fine. Thank you very much.
