Need help with nandroid - HTC Desire S

I did nandroid on coredroid 1.2 so i could test another rom restored the nandroid i got after boot
UID's on the system are inconsistent
PLease Help me!!
Can I restore my apps manually that's all I care for with the data
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

Do a full wipe as described here and try another nandroid Restore.

I will have a go of the full wipe but I tried to restore another nandroid and it worked and I want to get the apps and data back so I was thinking if I done advanced restore only data would it work?
Edit : tried my idea no luck that means theres something to do with the data If I can extract the image and find the source of the problem and delete it, it might work??

I don't think it will work as I think you have a corruption somewhere, but if you really need the data have a go anyway. Let me know how you get on.

[Q] Installing Rom/data question

Hello I know that after installing a ROM all your data is gone and all the good stuff. I would like to know that if a rom gets rid of some system files and deletes some other stuff, would a nandroid backup of ur phone bring all those files back without any problem?
Yes, a nandroid backup is a complete system image.

I don't know obout Droidness, but with WinMo 6.5.x, If you want to extract some files from the backup made from a certian ROM, then you must re-flash that ROM that the backup was made from.
Or it might not work.
And I'm not sure if a downgrade is a good idea... (with Droid)
I don't know if there is an "App For That" like SKTools, but the backups that I create can be extracted either on the device or on the PC. (WindowsXP PRO).
Hope this helps..
EDIT:
That sounds much simplier. Thanks DirkGently1.
Wow thx that helps alot. If nandroid doesnt work, ill keep the flashing rom before backup in mind thx!

Wait... Can you restore the individual components of a nandroid backup? Or is that a higher level of hacking?

[Q] desperately need for help..recover system files on p500..recover user data..

hello guys..sorry for my terrible English..I desperately need your help and maybe only you can help me..Yesterday i tried to install an app from googleplay to my p500 and all started going wrong..i couldnt start it..it was looping on cyanogen boot screen..i have read an internet solution that suggested me to flash rom via adb shell..but it couldnt work(luckily because i think that it would wipe my data forever)somehow i thought to connect it via usb to my pc..and it did start..but all of my sms messages(threads had gone).all the other files and settings where ok..but now threads...from that time i tried to recover them somehow..the problem is that now i m again on the boot screen and it will not startup...is there any way to recover files via clockworkmod?or anything else?please help me...
If you didn't make a backup, there is no way to restore them.

If that is the data containing them, then you have a chance. Try factory resetting and formatting all partitions, reflash your rom and restore that data img. Make sure the rom you flash is the same one were on.

so to be crystal clear..there isnt any way, even a paid solution to recover them...right?i have to create a custom rom install?oh,God i have no idea...
why all the other settings AND files keep as i had them?phone contacts,images,themes..only this sms threads...
and another thing..how can i restore them without reflash the rom?to keep apps..
also clockworkmod recovery gives me a bad boot message "recovery" any ideas what does that mean?

If the backup was done at the time you had the messages, they should be in the data img. Reflashing the rom and restoring the data will bring them back (if they are in it). Your apps, settings, etc. will also be brought back.
i m wondering if the img is incomplete though...because it had stopped not in data.img but i think in system or something else....anyway to solve md5 mismatch?
what are my steps from now on(except from praying messages to be in there..)

Was the backup renamed (with spaces)? Are you trying to restore it to the same rom you were on?

Try formatting your data partition then use "Advanced Restore" to restore it. I was referring to the folder - Did you rename the folder which the file is in?

nice find ,I think it should work but I'm not sure .
will try it when I get in my crazy experimenting mode
Nice script, but remember if you want to try, use advanced restore (if there is) and only restore the system and data.
Do not restore kernel & boot image, every devices is different, not sure that script can handle that.

Yes, it should restore boot and recovery partitions fine as well. Head over to the thread and there are reports of it working on Note. Please do remember to flash device specific patch for note.

[Q] Convert TiBU non zip to flashable zip

mods please remove

So I just flashed a rom and I had done a TiBU user and system data backup. BUT, i didnt do it properly so now i cant flash it in recovery. I had a lot of stuff and a lot of paid and customizable apps in there. Im still very new to all of this. I know there has to be a way to retrieve, zip, flash, im happy. I have copies of the BU on my extSD and computer if that matters. Thanks in advanced for any help.
My only answer would be to re-install everything from play store then do it the proper way.?.?.?.?
I just flashed LiquidSmooth

If you put the backup file on external sd you have to point Tibu at it in preferences or move to internal sd.
You can make a flashable zip of your TiBu backups???

[Q] Error while restoring nandroid of old GS3 to new replacement GS3

I got a replacement GS3 from Verizon because my current one had a charge port issue. I rooted and am using CWM 6.0.2.3 and get "error while restoring /system" when I try tp restore the nandroid of my old phone to the new one. How do I fix this?
Did you change the name of the nandroid at all? It's also possible that the backup you made contained individual phone information specific to your old phone...I seem to remember a thread before that mentioned it wasn't a good idea to move a nandroid to a new Samsung phone.
Edit: I found the thread shortly after hitting submit - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795031

there are a couple of apps where you can just extract the nandroid apps on the play store, but if you want the full restore, the file is probably corrupted.

Yeah I used to use titanium backup but my phone is very customized, CM10, diff kernel, and a very highly customized home screen so I'd rather restore the nandroid if there is some kind of workaround. I also want all my data, texts, etc. without using titanium backup. When I used ti backup in the past, I had a bunch of different issues restoring apps and data, force closes, etc.

I followed the directions in the last post of that thread.. I made a backup of the new phone, moved the old nandroid from old phone to the twrp back up folder in my new phone. I copied the new backup name and deleted the new backup. i pasted the name into the old back up, I tried to restore and i get an error "no partitions selected for restore. Is it because Im using twrp and I made the old backup with CWM?
Someone help!
