Found new amazing function in Optimus 3D! - LG Optimus 3D

Found this Video review. It has a picture in picture functionality. looks really great!

Too bad the sound recording sounds like robotvoice.
The HTC EVO3D has much better audio recording. Strangely the HTC Sensation doesn't.

lol oh my god

Am I missing something or doesn't every phone with video have the ability to look at a tv and watch what is on it? Not really PIP That is just taking video of your TV. Or am I just not getting it?

True, but doesn't mean it can do better. Lets face it. LG wants us to make as much as 3D movies to watch on the screen or 3D lcd tv. So software and hardware should be as good as possible (within budget). And in my opinion audio and video could be slightly better.

Agreed but it does seem as if they are working on it? latest update seems to address problems with 1080p 2D recording and with 3-party apps pictures get better from what I've heard, meaning it's "doable" and LG has probably worked their asses of getting 3D as good as they can, getting my phone later this week but from what I hear everyone is impressed with the 3D and compared to the Evos 3D the LG stands in a class of it's own.

Curious comment as all the previews I read said the EVO kicked the Optimus 3Ds ass for photo and video quality.
Also the video shot on the preview Optimus 3D units did not suffer the poor video quality of the V10b firmware, so that wasn't a factor in those previews.
I do hope the O3D kicks the EVOs ass though, seeing as I bought the O3D. ;-)

Someone make an External Flash addon!

Sony used to have this:
http://www.myhphone.com/manufacturer/accessories/sony-ericsson-mxe-60-flash-add-on/
I'm wondering if its possible to make one using the mini-usb port on this phone?
Perhaps one of those could even be modded to do it (Though wouldnt be ideal)
would make a cool product to sell!
What for ? camera is still crappy , its not like its DSLR for any worth while pictures real camera can't be beat at this point in time.
ive seen these for other phones,
It will happen only if this is a huge success for samsung..

I dont' want to carry a DSLR whenever I'm hanging out with friends... a very small flash connected to my phone would be ok though
Tht'd Be cool also they should make an external projector like the beam has bouilt in but the s is much finner so will look better
there is no reason to use the usb-port, just use a micro-tork if you can't live without it.

Right, and I suppose besides the DSLR, you also bring along a PSP for games, an iPod or Zune for music, a Garmin GPS receiver for maps, and a thick paperback book plus several newspapers as reading material.
But most of us would prefer the convenience of a all-in-one device even if it doesn't perform as well as multiple dedicated devices.
flash on Digital Cameras are wasted.
if you want a real flash you need to get big, and goes for even professional cameras, also you need to calculate the size of the room and distance.
most people i've seen taking pictures with point and shoot cameras with build in flash, has horrible results.
the best result is to NOT use the flash at all, and just take the picture, if you really need illumination, use a CREE LED flash light. (something like this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13060) I always carry that with me, specially when I'm biking at night.
Most standard room lighting conditions are more than adequate enough for a good picture with a phone camera/point and shoot camera.

You are sure that that's your opinion? Because that's the silliest thing i read today (and i read quite a lot)!

Camera 360 works much better then stock cam software.

So I took some pics with different settings in Camera 360 program. I forgot what the settings I selected were but its pretty much all of them.

Oh P.S. these are all seprate pics of the same thing.
better because it has some extra filters?
take some long distance shots with the default camera app, then take the same shot with camera 360, and we'll see which picture looks sharper.

Will do in the morning
Yeah, I've taken pictures just as good of close-up flowers with the stock camera app. Those look great though! The camera is pretty excellent on the Captivate IMO.
Some of those filters look fantastic!!
/downloading camera360
for some reason i find that my camera is sub-par.. pictures always come out blurry even though i am very steady. i will try camera 360 and hopefully it will help
So what color is the flower supposed to be? Purple or Red. I'd say that only one of those photos looks good. I think the one where its red looks good, the leaves look a good solid green. The rest look kind of like "neon" lights or something.
I find that my Touch Pro w/ it's 3.2MP camera takes sharper photos than the captivate does indoors. I have a 30" monitor so I can actually verify if the camera is keeping up with the horizontal resolution of 2560. I would rate the effective pixel resolution only at like 2.5MP for the captivate. I would say the rest of the 2.5MP seem extrapolated w/ noise.
While YellowGTO's shots look good, we must remember that they are downsized. I tried out camera 360 as well. But imo that application only applies some digital filters to beef up the picture - I can do this w/ picasa. In the end TP's shots blow those of captivate to dust. Captivate lacks refinement.
Engadget did say that the camera quality is better on the vibrant than it is in the captivate. It would be nice if someone who also has access to the vibrant or the i9000 can compare the refinement abilities.
looks awesome!!!
Does this app let you use the camera on a low battery (unlike the stock)?
Those all look severly over saturated to my eye.

Camera replacement? Want ISO

Is there a camera replacement that lets me specify the ISO?
I read something about the Desire camera apk but can't find much more info. Anyone know anything?
Heh, what do you know! That isn't adjustable either!
I tried 3 camera apps and no luck

I haven't found any great camera aps for the Nexus S.
I use Camera 360 for it's HDR feature, but it's not ideal: it doesn't offer 16x9 option, the HDR is so-so and you have to keep the stock camera for video.
And of course, I wish someone would figure out how to get 720p video from the Nexus S.

I care a lot less about 720p video than manual ISO. Cranking the ISO can really help get much better pictures in low light. I used my Evo to take some incredible photos of Iron Maiden in concert at the Garden, but I had to shoot at ISO 800 for it. On Auto they were just too blurry.

Heh, to each their own.... But the fact is still that there isn't a great camera app which does anything truly useful that the stock camera doesn't.
BTW, how did the pics look on a big screen at ISO 800? Did you get tons of noise, or were the shots useful?
Large images, but it doesn't seem the thread is good for much else anyway

That was done with an evo? You have to have a steady hand too with low light. I certainly can't do it.
Yup. In the pit. The pics at auto ISO were just blurs.

Watch movies while multitasking! Stick it!

Works well on the Xperia Play and I can watch movies while I surf the web Movies can be moved anywhere on the screen and re-sized on the fly.

App is $1.50, please support the dev for his work.
We definetly need more stuff like that!!
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Just got it. Brilliant app all it needs now is to support actual live streams
somehow xD
Really is amazing tho.
I'm sick and tired of it not only pausing YouTube videos without the ability to resume after locking the screen (iPhone can do this), but also dumping the buffer and rebuffering when you unlock.
Even being able to do something while the live-streaming audio plays in the background or the buffer fills would be greatly appreciated.
Dude I'm sure it'll get a few updates and stuff no need for the complaining.
And iPhone can't do this mate.

Wow. You totally misinterpreted me. I was complaining about something that Android can't do in hopes that someone would do something like it with something like this. iPhone CAN play a YouTube video while locked. It automatically pauses, but bringing up the lockscreen controls will let you resume and hear the audio. It saves battery life and lets you listen with the phone in your pocket without risk of accidental interaction. iPhone will also let you play and hear YouTube while doing other things by using AVRCP Bluetooth or multi-tasking playback controls. I never for a second thought that it actually lets you view the video when you do other things: It only lets you resume playback and HEAR it.

they already make this...
a quick market search from "youtube stream" it plays the audio in the background, and there have been apps before this that do the same thing.

Thanks. I wish Google would see the need. They flush the buffer when YouTube locks so that even unlocking it requires me to buffer again to resume playback! It's "finish now or suffer" with the stock app.

[Q] Is Nvidia Shield HDCP Protected?

Does anyone know if the Shield is HDCP protected? I'd like to use something like an Elgato Game Capture to capture video.
Thanks!

People have been recording video from the HDMI output, although I believe HDCP will kick in if you try to watch a movie via Google Movies.

I am aware of software / apps that can capture video; however fraps is not available as an android application (as far as I know). Additionally fraps affects your framerate and whatnot when you play, unless you have a really overkill PC.
I'd like to capture video of Android games. There are some apps like Screencast etc that are software solutions, however again they are software based, affect your framerate, and screencast is not currently compatible with Tegra.
Hardware screen capture products (capture cards, elgato, etc) have several advantages over software based solutions like fraps. They don't affect your framerate, and some have hardware video encoding. Elgato has hardware h264 encoding.
If google movies activates HDCP anyway to disable it or should it just be off when the app is closed?
I'm asking because I had no problem recording my games with my avermedia gamebroadcaster HD but all of a sudden i cant record anything not even the homescreen because it says HDCP protected and the only thing I can think of that I last did was bought that free elf giveaway on the play store.
I am not trying to record anything but some emulators which used to work just fine.
Any ideas?
I'm also having trouble recording with a PVR
