+1 why do we need antivirus?

Because the internet is infected and you connect to internet I imagine??? Yes well the servers that are the backbone of the internet are completely infected thats why some claim you need an antivirus I've never used one I just let kaspersky take care of it on my pc and it has picked up viruses I dl'd off the market before so they do exist... Enjoy that tid bit of info!

I use Comodo Mobile Security (beta)
It's very hard to define what is the best, moreless all the same the free ones. Should be interesting seeing some comparatives and benchmark...
I use lookout. Only because the icon looks cool. Other than that, screw security.

That is true but there are android viruses or malware so it doesn't hurt.

I use guardx. It was just the first one i saw on the market so i DL'd it. I agree with the earlier post that free ones are all the same, pretty much. Security is definitely not on the forefront of my mind with android as it's fairly secure. Better safe than sorry sort of deal for me. And just a reasonable attempt at securing an already secure device is above expectations. Happy security surfing.
Lookout
I use lookout, mainly for the missing device feature that comes with it.
I used Bkav made in Vietnam
I use Lookout. Mostly because it came with my phone and I don't really wanna know about anything else since they all do the same thing at varying prices (not that I'm paying for any services, that'd be stupid).
AVG is useless. Avast has a beta out, which might be better.
No need
I don't think antivirus is needed at all. The odds are like one in a million to get it from Market and you would still have to approve to a lot of permissions.
I would like to see one real case where an antivirus program actually prevented anyone from getting a virus.
i dont think an anti virus app works
You confused the title part of the of the reply-interface with the message part. Makes your post look like spam. For future reference. =p
Why use it then

EXCELLENT ANTIVIRUS W/small MEMORY FOOTPRINT

I've been using lookout ever since the phone came out and have put up with it's insane memory usage until today. I peek inside running apps and saw that it was consuming 61 yes 61 megabytes of memory. Immediately I hit the market in search of a new anti virus program and put a few of them through the paces. Found one that does everything lookout does AND looks better AND consumes less than HALF the resources lookout does. Check it out BluePoint Security.

Though, the people behind those apps have snooped out some bad apps before. So maybe to support the company?
Do we need a AV? Hows avast, its been protecting my pc for like 5 years.

Which Anti-Virus/Internet Security do you Prefer/Use/Like?

So which one do you guys like to use think is best or whatever your thoughts are on them. I want to grab one up and use it, have been roaming on trials for while. Ever since AVG decided to think my serial was no good and kept throwing me onto a trail serial. it was good up till 02/28/2018 and last month it decided no more.
On the off chance i use windows or if someone asks i tend to say either avg or avasts free versions work very well. But depends on if you feel you need the extra features

That depends if you want to spend money or free !
I am happy with avast Antivirus free (with free key or free key till 2038!)
If you want to spend money i recommend Kapersky antivirus - as i have to test several ones - the usage is comparable low to a good protection !
Anyway the prices compared to Others are almost the same - on top of list ist also F-Secure - but i have no test with this Suite done until yet!

Hi,
I am using Norton for my laptop since 4 years. If you purchase this software then you have to keep update this software on online.so that your system will free of virus.
Thanks

I supposed you ask for windows.
IMHO free is Avira and paid Kasperskyaaq

re: Which antivirus is the best?
I have used norton & Avg and personally feels AVG is better and doesnt slows your pc too much.
I also use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's simple, free and updates often.
The latest tests show Norton on top. But it changes every year. And trust me, I work on computers everyday.
i have used a few and i really dont like McAfee since it changes lotsa variables in the windows system environment..
a good one i suggest is Kaspersky~ also Avast..
First of all, ¡hi XDA Community!
There´s a lot of alternatives. I use Avast Free. Nowadays virus are more controlled than before, but I think that the best Antivirus is oneself.
Avast is pretty good

I've been using MSE (now Defender in Windows 8) for quite a long time. I've never had an issue with it and it's worked well. For the average user, I don't think anything more is needed. I've used most of the paid and free options in the past, and some were great, but I don't see myself moving away from Microsoft's solution unless they really mess it up.

Avg free is good but better off with the paid version
Unlike most others doesn't slow your system down

I used Norton for years until it became bloated and a resource hog. I have used ESET NOD32 for a few years now and it's great. It's not free but it does its job without getting in your way, and it uses minimal resources. It has saved my butt a few times and I highly recommend it.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Personally, I use Microsoft Security Essentials. I've used AVG, and Avast, Ad-aware. All are good, but I just love how MSE doesn't bother me at all. Haven't had a virus in years using any of the above programs (that I know of).

there are no known viruses for android so antivirus is not necessary
but antivirus can detect adwares and spyware
I personally use avg antivirus
it informed me about adwares while I installed some apps

Actually, there are known viruses, they are just extremely rare.
As long as you keep in the safe side of the internet, you should be fine.

I agree to the guy above me here.
As long as you don't download apps via unofficial ways, and other files from non-100% safe or legit websites, everyone should be fine.
I personally have Antivirus bij AVGMobilation, but I only use it to auto-scan a file when it's downloaded (and in case of apps, auto-scan before install).
You dont need antivirus. You should get android firewall and ad away instead. Theres so many apps that show annoying ads and drains your internet speed.

How do you know you never had a virus if you don't use any antivirus app?
I used trustgo, avg, web doctor and now kaspersky antivirus and i had 6-8 adware in less then a year all downloaded from play store.

Okay learn about viruses first...adware just shows you new ads and does not harm your device...they come up with free apps.almost all free apps show ads so that the developer gets a few bucks...he deserves it,it would be clearly said in the app description that it will show ads...
