EXCELLENT ANTIVIRUS W/small MEMORY FOOTPRINT - Captivate General

I've been using lookout ever since the phone came out and have put up with it's insane memory usage until today. I peek inside running apps and saw that it was consuming 61 yes 61 megabytes of memory. Immediately I hit the market in search of a new anti virus program and put a few of them through the paces. Found one that does everything lookout does AND looks better AND consumes less than HALF the resources lookout does. Check it out BluePoint Security.

Why do you need an AV for Android?

Though, the people behind those apps have snooped out some bad apps before. So maybe to support the company?

Do we need a AV? Hows avast, its been protecting my pc for like 5 years.

Interesting take on the subject here

Thanks for the info. It is really a good idea to install a anti virus app. With more & more people using their phones reather than a computer, allot of crooks out there want to tap into your personal info. I've been using lookout for about 6 month & its seems to be working well.

Is Lookout better than AVG?
Swyped on my VooDoo'd Mez from the XDA App
I think they stay updated a little more than avg does. And it deffinatley has some good features. Also I noticed lookout seems to be easier on the phones resources and stuff. But in the end it is really up to the end user to decide what's best.

I been using Lookout for quite awhile now and think it is really good app. I like many of the extra features it has like finding your phone using GPS if you lose it. It can even turn your phones GPS on if it was was off. This can all be done from your PC with your online Lookout acct. I've never used AVG but I'm sure it also a good app. If something works I just stick with it and Lookout has done just that.
+1 for Lookout
I agree about Lookout - plus it's cross-platform, which I found to be a great resource when I was upgrading to my Mesmerize. My last phone was a Motorola Q with Windows Mobile and I was running Lookout on it - I actually transferred my contacts with Lookout with one or two clicks when I upgraded.

Anti virus app

What is the best antivirus app? I use Dr.web light? Thanks.

I use Comodo Mobile Security (beta)
It's very hard to define what is the best, moreless all the same the free ones. Should be interesting seeing some comparatives and benchmark...
I use lookout. Only because the icon looks cool. Other than that, screw security.

GuardX
I use guardx. It was just the first one i saw on the market so i DL'd it. I agree with the earlier post that free ones are all the same, pretty much. Security is definitely not on the forefront of my mind with android as it's fairly secure. Better safe than sorry sort of deal for me. And just a reasonable attempt at securing an already secure device is above expectations. Happy security surfing.
Lookout
I use lookout, mainly for the missing device feature that comes with it.
I used Bkav made in Vietnam
I use Lookout. Mostly because it came with my phone and I don't really wanna know about anything else since they all do the same thing at varying prices (not that I'm paying for any services, that'd be stupid).
AVG is useless. Avast has a beta out, which might be better.
No need
I don't think antivirus is needed at all. The odds are like one in a million to get it from Market and you would still have to approve to a lot of permissions.
I would like to see one real case where an antivirus program actually prevented anyone from getting a virus.
i dont think an anti virus app works

It checks more than just every boot. I purchased this back when it came out on the evo og, it is worth every penny. But only downfall is no icon customization. I currently have it on my transformer and it is smooth.

It's not 2 bad. I did try it.. Big problem to me is that it is constantly using over 80mb of ram which is tough to stomach when we only have a small amount to work with.

it should be an .apk
I just tried this. It's ok but the ram usage is (obviously) too much. I applied hard to kill launcher (v6) and then angry birds took about 3 minutes to load. It also destroys the battery.

How to crack it
15 dollars is stupid - Does not have any features to it, looks good but that is it ....
Pros: Looks good, it is smooth
Cons: No folders on app drawer, no hiding apps on app drawer, little customization.

Look again, all I've done was post on general forum, and what is the point to having many posts?
Also, $15 bucks for a launcher is ridiculous! Specially because all SPB Shell is cute nothing else... Plus Lucky Patcher will work on it untill reboot, so it's only buying a trial anyhow .....

The BEST App"S" EVER.

This app is intended only to check security if your personal home network. Be responsible and never attempt use in a public place. Scenarios in the following text are for entertainment purposes only.
I know this has been around for a bit, but thus seems solid and working for everyone. It's Network Spoofer! Now picture this (this is being polIte) walking into a Starbucks or McDonald's and every single last image down to link ads us replaced by a picture of your favorite presidential candidate. No matter what they clIck or where they try to go every last link they can find sends them directly to your candidates campaign website! Ya, and that is just scratching the surface of what this app does. I mean I saw people get literally overly pissed off, loss of temper storming around!! IT'S TOO MUCH FUN TO PASS UP!!!

After installing the app, connect to WiFi and start it up. Root is needed, once granted it will download roughly 600mb of additional data to function properly. Once you choose your first weapon and ur ready to fIre, apply it to all devices and it will automatically identify your ip address as host and you can surf unscathed, mixing and matching pranks to adapt to the out of control, hilarious environment around you!!!
DO IT!!

Which Anti-Virus/Internet Security do you Prefer/Use/Like?

So which one do you guys like to use think is best or whatever your thoughts are on them. I want to grab one up and use it, have been roaming on trials for while. Ever since AVG decided to think my serial was no good and kept throwing me onto a trail serial. it was good up till 02/28/2018 and last month it decided no more.
On the off chance i use windows or if someone asks i tend to say either avg or avasts free versions work very well. But depends on if you feel you need the extra features
