[Q] How to take screenshot with ChaCha? - HTC ChaCha

OK, here is what happened yesterday. I was looking what can my phone do, and I heard sound of camera (although I didn't run camera app).
On my screen I saw this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I don't know what did I pressed, but I have screenshot of my home screen.
Anyone got a clue how did I done it? I didn't find on HTC site information about taking screenshots. I have to say that I don't have any app installed that can do this thing.

Same here ... I managed to take a screenshot by accident, but I don't seem to find how!

I asked the same question HTC support, I sent them a picture too, and here is answer:
Dear xxx,
Thank you for contacting HTC
Would you please try the Soft Reset :
Remove the battery, then re-insert it.
Note: Soft resetting your phone deletes all unsaved data.
if it didn't work try the factory Reset :
Notice: Make sure you have a backup of the data, if possible
While the phone is off, press& hold on the Volume Down button, press the power -while the volume down is still pressed-
Release Volume down, then follow the on-screen steps.
Note: A screen with 3 Androids will come up, Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER. When asked to confirm, press VOLUME UP.
If you have any other inquiries, don’t hesitate to contact us again.
Please note that you can contact us via support line which is a toll free number 0800 982 773. For further details,please go to http://www.htc.com/europe/CA_Hotline.aspx ,
Thank you so much for using HTC products.

Not too much help from them at this point

How did you discover that key combo!?
Well done!

Nice! Thanks for it! It works like charm

(red) button, then touch home

Works wery well. Thanks.
Just be careful to quickly "touch" home, as otherwise it shows the home screen and then takes the picture - so you get a picture of home screen, not of what you see on the screen when you press the shortcut...

This is so awesome!!!!!
I'd like to confirm that it works on the HTC Status as well, which is the North American name of the Cha Cha.

It works well on my ChaCha, thx you

Cannot remap 3 hardware buttons: Voice Cmd, OK and Camera

greetings all... i wanted to remap my Voice Command button to another activity, however, the Voice Cmd, OK and Camera buttons do not appear in the list of button options:

i know it was there before because i mapped it to DeviceLock. i've already tried 2 soft resets with no success. i'm hopeful that i can fix this with a simple registry change vs. a hard-reset. if this can fixed via registry edit, i would be grateful if someone could (a) export the the correct registry keys and send them to me via PM (or post here) OR (b) post where to find the keys in the registry and list the default settings... thanks in advance for feedback.
I bet it has something to do with some software you installed. I have kaiser and remapped voice dial button to comm manager and it works without any problem.
not in this case... i installed smartSS to take the picture you see in my post. thanks for the suggestion, though.
Interesting, my config screen shows butons 1-6 plus a second number 6 button (hold), total of 7 mappable keys. Have you never had all these keys shown in this config screen? or did something you add take them away? I would perform a Hard Reset and see if the stock rom brings them back. Good Luck!

sorry for that, I already changed my post, I just thought (although not knowing what smartSS is) that it is the software that reserves the use of button mappings and therefore disables them in the windows settings menu.

the buttons just didn't show up when i went to change them. i'm going to hold out for a possible non-hard reset option. for now, i'll use AE Button Plus. thanks for responding...

I just downloaded this. I have already mapped my buttons as needed. However, I constantly find myself looking for options to add something new - New Contact, New Meeting, etc. So I will just put this as one of the items righ on my strart menu and will give it a little workout! I will report back to let everyone know how it goes...

It works good, just have to make sure it's installed on the device not the mem card.
Thank you .

Doesn't work on my Tilt
Every time I try to run HTC Action on my AT&T Tilt, it brings up an error saying:
'The file 'HTCActionScreen' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.'
I've done reinstalls a few times, with soft resets, etc. I just cannot get it to work.
My co-worker has the same phone and his works fine.
Any ideas?
Changing Font
For some reason the font for the HTC action isn't the same as the one in the picture. How can I change the font?

I think that isn't possible because that button isn't configurable.
Maybe it would be possible with a continuously running program...
but you can configure another key (rectangle, <, camera)...
try with Hbutton

Thanks it works, but as you said only Rectangle, < and camera button are configurable. but I don't wan't to change those buttons. I'll search for the end key button remapping.
Thanks for your help and your nice app.
EDIT : I saw you make a Long_Power.Ink shortcut on the Windows Directory. Is it possible to use it as on HTC devices (like this thread)?
Maybe it can do by looking on the Preferences.exe. I'll take a look dissassembling it when i'll get time. I'll give you feedback on it.

it works flawlessly, thank you !
Thank you very much! Nice app, but you didn't have luck with the power button? It would be great to associate them!
Agur!
Please help with this!!!
Hi Friends;
I used Acer NeoTouch S200 model SFR (Acer Stock ROM 2.003.00.EN), everything is ok, but Led indicator event status not working with any incoming SMS, missed call, battery charging and bootloader, Led status always sleep mode (no light, no blink…). Very Sad (how to Fix!).
I like flashing new rom from XDA, for this, I read carefully “how to enter bootloader for flash” by pressing Camera + VolumeDown + Power/Reset (or Camera + Power/Reset if you have 2.x firmware), but I am not sure my device on status into bootloader yet for flash. (because of my led light problems).
Also, I get software QuickShutdownV1.53_acer_S200.cab to enter into bootloader mode for flash, but I am not sure my device realy enter into bootloader yet for flash. Please help me for testing this Soft on your device, if it really ok (with red blink) into bootloader to flash, let me know.
Thank you very much.
(Sorry for my English).

[Q] Did anyone try that tweek in build.prop file ? from Samsung Vibrant tweeks

Hello
Tweaking build.prop file and adding the following :
"ro.config.hw_menu_unlockscreen=true"
To enable the menu button too unlock the phone
Did anyone try that with Nexus S ? I assume it can work
The thread is located in :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151608
Would be great to save the power button from braking up !!
Thanks
I'm pretty sure that since the nexus s has soft keys, it would only turn on if screen is on, the sgs has a hardware menu button that allows it to work and a framework that has the mod probably

This is from Samsung Vibrant tweaks .. Which doesn't have a "physical" menu button !! it also has soft keys , but the way it is listed as "menu button" makes this quite sensible !

This is already implemented in the latest CyanogenMod 9 ROM, and probably other ROM's too.

Ohhhh Thanks alot mate...
So now the menu soft button unlocks the phone exactly like the "physical" power button ? and when the device is unlocked , does the menu button works normally in bringing the usual menues ?
Thanks
Would you provide me with this ROM link ?
..
If I understand correctly, this will only allows pressing menu button to "unlock" the screen when keyguard is showing, but pressing menu button when screen is off will do nothing, right?

[GUIDE] Here is How to Boot Into Safe Mode

As I was trying to take a screenshot of this to make a thread about how ridiculous Verizon is, I accidentally booted into safe mode.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I pressed down the home button + volume down a few times, and that is how it happened. Perhaps devs already knew this. Here is a guide anyways.
1. Start phone
2. Once you hit Verizon screen (or any screen past bootloader screen), either hold down power + volume down, or press it a few times.
Note that doing this will reset your wallpaper and folders.

I normally boot into it by accident as well lol.
if the phone is running, simply longpress the "Power off" prompt after you get the phone options popup. I believe it disables all the third party (Downloaded/sideloaded/etc...) apps.

This is correct. It's a good way to troubleshoot the phone and see if 3rd party apps are causing an issue
