Can you help me to explain step by step what you do to unbrick and flash your phone??? And which ROM you used to fixed the Problem??? I've try used the GB ROM and Froyo KC5 ROM, but it's still can't help....

The combination for Gio Download Mode is VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER!
The combination for Gio Recovery Mode is HOME + POWER.
Good Luck!
Be sure to enter Download Mode and connect your Gio to computer before pressing the "Start" Odin button.
-----------------------------------------------------------
For your "bricked-that-cant-enter-download-mode" Gio, try this:
1. Remove your battery
2. Press and hold VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER
3. While holding those buttons, insert the battery.

bricked=corrupted bootloader (phone is completely dead)
is not bricked because a really bricked phone will not boot in download mode it's like dead better is to say "is not booting" and the way to solve a "bricked" phone is to flash a stock rom that surely works you have to try many times because you don not know what rom was previously on the phone
1.get a stock rom on sammobile
2.also get corresponding Odin an pit file from there
3.flash by Odin in download mode
if not working try another rom also check if you have Android SDK an Kies make sure you have these tools- you need adb interface working and samsung drivers installed
when in download mode open Device Manager start/run/devmgmt.msc and check if you have adb interface active if not install Odin and SDK then restart PC and try again in download mode...
(don't do anything until you see something like this is Dev Manager -you see this only when phone is connected to PC yes in download mode)
tips
-pit file tells Odin how to flash files on phone in what order and how to so unpack rom and check if you see at least 3 md5 files : CSC/Modem/PDA not all roms are complete don't use a pit file until you have these 3 files in archive
-if Odin says "done" but phone is not booting try to enter recovery and (should work if you downloaded a complete rom ) ...and wipe data/cache/Dalvik-cache then reboot
-if you are missing a pit, pda, modem or csc file you don't have a rom complete so check for a rom with all these files inside archive then you can flash it and you can check "re-partition" in Odin
-if you see ADB Interface connected in Dev Manager it means your phone is in download mode and is not bricked so can be solved ! do not believe me just try !
-if you do not see this install (again) everything/ use another computer and try again! if you don't get a sign this is bricked and send it in service don't lose time
-I don't have this phone (only a Samsung Omnia but this is WM phone) but I have some experience with these "bricked" phones so this is not a complete howto but give me some feedback let's solve these "bricked" phones and close this thread
yea, i know but my phone bricked cuz i have wrong flashed recovery Rom using Rom Manager. and if i pressed vol up+power+home odin recognize it but always stuck at setup connection as the others shown. if u can show me how to fix this, then u may close this thead!

If you did something like install custom recovery on your lg optimus one and failed, you would get a black screen saying..
fastboot mode started
udc_start()
If this happens...
Relax.. Your phone is not bricked.. There are many ways to fix it... This method of unbricking should be done as a last resort because it erases all your data...
Charge your phone before proceeding even if the backlight is always on while charging..
Things required:
Kdz updater:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8651505&postcount=1
Stock ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
USB cable, Windows PC with administrator account,LG united mobile drivers(google for it if you don't find it in the "Add or remove programs" window in the control panel)..
First disable all LGE modems under modems from Windows device manager in the Control Panel..
Make sure you have LG united mobile drivers installed.. Or just google for it..
Then press and hold both the back(return) button and the volume up button and simultaneously connect the USB cable..
The phone should light up and say Emergency mode!! in a green background.. If it goes to Emergency mode, it can be fixed... If it doesn't I'm sorry, search for an other forum or give it to the LG service center...
Now decompress the 7z file you downloaded using WinZip, WinRar etc., install msxml.msi from the uncompressed directory and run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe (With administrator rights by right clicking and selecting run as administrator).
In the dialog box, select Type : 3GQCT and PhoneMode: DIAG, select the kdz file and flash the stock ROM... It would take about 15 minutes.. If the kdz updater crashes, change compatibility mode or restart the computer and phone or do something till it works (Retry retry retry)...
For most of you it would probably say PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!.... If so, then follow all the steps said above, but this time, shake the life out of your phone after connecting the USB till the lines "PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!" stops appearing... If it does appear again retry for endless times or restart the computer or check if any modem drivers are active or try it in an another computer...
From here on, follow any one choice:
Choice 1:
Note: There is a fat chance for this choice to not work and for you to go back to the very first line of this thread...
If you want your phone to have all the data before you bricked it, just disconnect the USB when the phone shows the charge screen as if you are charging the phone while it is switched off.. (This was discovered accidentally by me so try it at your own risk ) After disconnecting try to power on the normal way and it should work and the phone should be like it was never bricked.. If it doesn't boot, retry flashing from the start.. If it starts and all your data is restored root it, install titanium backup and backup all your apps and data and save the contents of sdcard\titaniumbackup to your pc.. Then copy all you want in your sdcard to your pc.. Then redo all the steps without disconnecting till the kdz flasher says FINISHED.. This is because if you disconnect the usb in the middle, only half the rom would be installed which is unstable.. After installing the full rom, root it, and install titanium backup and copy all the copied content back to sdcard\titaniumbackup and restore them using titanium backup.. That's it..
Choice 2:
If you do not want the data and if you need to do a risk-free unbrick, then flash with the kdz updater and wait till it says FINISHED.. That's it..
Now that you know how to unbrick, try installing what bricked your phone again but this time in the correct way... GOOD LUCK...
AND FINALLY.... ONE MORE STEP.... PRESS THE "THANK" BUTTON IF I HELPED YOU IN ANY WAY...

By (has administrator) I meant to run kdz with administrator user account rights..
And for your phone not found problem, did you uninstall everything that I listed? If so then you should shake the phone more vigorously from plugging your phone to usb till the phone is found, seriously. If it is still not found, review if you have followed my instructions without leaving a single one out and retry till you suceed... Best of luck... Any more help.. Ask me.

Ok if you can't run it as an administrator try skipping that step and try connecting your phone without admin till your is found.. Try SHAKING...
If it doesn't work.. Take your phone and equipment to your friends home which has admin rights...try till you suceed because it usually is a painfree process.. You can fix your phone if it goes to emergency mode... Dont worry.. feel free to ask for help...

Hi everyone,
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy following the guide from xda developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056334).
I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging)
I started ODIN, then my device rebooted. I started SuperOneClick and I received a message saying "device not found".
Then I went to check the guide, and I saw that I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging).
Can anyone help me to fix this?
I'm from Portugal. If I wrote anything wrong sorry for my mistake and for any inconvenience.
Thank you for any help.
Not sure if you're just having problems with Odin recognizing your phone or not but the basics are to ensure you have the phones drivers installed and enable usb debugging. Afterwards you make sure your phone gets recognized fully from your computer once plugging it in. If so you start Odin AND THEN plug in your phone with the directions for getting to download mode (removing battery and holding volume button etc) and in Odin it should show a connection on a com port tile. Then you load up your files and send them. If anything I am sure you just may have a problem by not being in download mode?

Get into download mode and go into keis and start a firmware upgrade and initialization. (you will need model number and serial number behind the battery) and go through the process it tells u to. Then you will be back to stock, then try to root from there the proper way.

You could find a stock ROM first (depends on where you bought your phone / country, provider) and flash through Odin. Unplug your phone from your PC > task manager > kill all KIES apps > turn on your phone into download mode > open ODIN > connect phone to PC
Then ODIN should show your phone is connected with a yellow box, depending on what ROM you downloaded you put the needed file in the PDA box (file with the name such as I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XENLP3_HOME.tar.md5), click START and wait until that box goes from yellow to green. Phone should reboot now. If it gets stuck, get into the recovery mode (Vol UP + home + power) and wipe everything.

1- I forgot to set "Debugging mode" on from the setting.
2- During upgrading from zip file from SD card, battery finished (I know I screwed it up, that day was terrible).
phone does not work. when i turn it on, i have got double boot logos "Galaxy Gio GT-S5660". i mean two startup logo alongside eachother on the top of screen in decreased size. and phone hang on this state. when i try (power + home button) i get normal recovery mode with android sign and alert sign in triangle.
of course any help will be appreciated.

This thread is for those friends who are new to android.
I found that many of us, who wants to move from custom roms to stock roms through odin, have faced some big problems like MIBIB download or SETUP CONNECTION . This happened with me as well... when I moved from cyanogenmod to froyo. So, based on my experience, here are some suggestions which may help you:-
When you select the OPS file, check its name. Its name should be "BENI_v1.0.ops" (without quotes) otherwise odin will not show your device's model number at the top and will stop at MIBIB Download. Please Note that as soon as you select the ops file, odin will show the model number of the device in its title bar regardless of whether the phone is physcally connected to PC or not. In my case, the mbib download problem is solved by renaming the OPS file. You can now install the stock firmware as normal.
If odin is showing the message "setup connection" and your Galaxy Fit is still connected to PC (i.e. COM port mapping box is yellow), then try another stock firmware. In my case, odin stopped at setup connection when I was installing froyo, so then I tried the One Package Gingerbread firmware. And Odin successfully installed it(you can also try another usb port). After then, I went for Froyo once again & Odin successfully installed it too.
Please remember that doing things unknowingly may damage your device. Once the phone is in DOWNLOAD MODE, it can not be switched on either normally or in recovery. It can only enter in DOWNLOAD MODE. I had the two firmwares when I did all this.
Hope this helps...
Press thanks if I helped you...

Note that if ur usb port malfunctions then odin will not proceed further. I recently noticed this major issue. Other errors like "checking plact platform verification" appear due to usb error. Try another pc or laptop(recommended).
1st & 4most, it's necessary that u tick "USB debugging" under "Android Settings->Application Development" b4 going to download mode.
Also, disable any antivirus, firewall...uninstall kies...& at last install/re-install ur Samsung Mobile Drivers. Use Odin 4.38.
The screen u mentioned appears when u exit download mode & try to switch it on either normally or in recovery. Don't worry...!!
1. Take out & re-insert battery.
2. Press "Volume Down & Home & Power button" & you'll again enter downloading mode.
If u want...I can provide u the firmware files that I always use
Hope this helps...!!!

First try a stock rom and wipe /data and /cache, if it still bootloops after that use the reset.
and it hangs idd. just turn off your phone, unplug usb, restart odin and try again

... Why can't anyone just tell him that he can still put zip's with mass storage? Not only that but jellytime isn't an addon for CM, but is a standalone ROM.
For OP, you take your USB cable, plug it into your PC and phone. From there you should get a notification asking if you want to enable mass storage. You press the button to turn it on and send whatever file you want from your PC. If you do not get any notification and that is why you are asking all this, go to settings -> storage -> press menu button -> connection -> choose mass storage and do the above again.
ok ill try to restrat my pc, restrat my odin and then plug the phone again andinstall this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347789
with odin. this fckn odin thing is so unstable
The finny thing is i had a onandroid backup on the phone, and titanium back up and everything secured.. but i couldnt use it cuz i dint have CWM nor TWRP installed XD
ok it is finally installing! ill let you guys know if everything is ok wehn it's complete
... do you from your personal experience also have so much trouble with odin?
i think its laggy as ****
The most important rule to have is PATIENCE.
Let the computer/laptop do its work..
I know how it feels when your phone is messed up but have some patience and report here when you have issues

yes because jellytime is theoretical the same AS cm10 , just flash jellytime and all will be fine but wipe data and cache before

Jellytime is a ROM
Cyanogenmod is a ROM
You dont have to install cyanogenmod to install jellytime. installing a ROM will wipe the ROM that was previous installed.

No need to do that OP read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24831012&postcount=1330
Hi Everyone ^^
I sort of got my Samsung Galaxy GT-S5660 bricked without being able to find a fix for it..
I've followed an installation Guide to the letter, yet i now find my Phone stuck on all sides
Been searching and reading XDA & Google, thus-far without any fix in sight :x
Setup:
- I'm running a Windows 8 PC, updated & running properly, all Drivers Installed
- Before all of this, the Phone worked properly on default ROM, un-tampered with, PC could connect and transfer files to the Phone while it was running. Didn't try the download mode until after brick.
Used this XDA Thread to first root the Phone, using Recovery Mode to install the zip from SD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111414
Then followed this Guide to the Letter to install the CM10.1, also installing it using Recovery Mode, installing the zip from SD: http://www.android.gs/update-galaxy-gio-android-4-2-2-jb-cm10-1/
Thats where the fun ended ... it rebooted and ... nothing :x
Resulted into this situation:
- Normal Boot (Pwr-Btn): The Phone wont boot, it first loads a static Samsung logo, then after a bit shows the ''GALAXY Gio GT-S5660" logo and just permanently holds on that
- Boot into Recovery Mode (Home-Btn + Pwr-Btn): No longer works, Instead of going into old Recovery Mode or CWM Recovery mode, it just displays the static Samsung logo for a looong time, then reboots into "Normal Boot" described above. So no more installing from SD Card ... No more Recovery Mode
- Boot into Download Mode (Vol-Down + Home-Btn + Pwr-Btn): No problem, displays the yellow "Downloading..." mid-screen. Problem is, PC's keep telling me "USB Device is not Recognized".. Any USB-Cable, any PC, none recognize the device. Tried every driver i could find, trying and retrying, the Samsung Kies Drivers and app as well, every version of it. Still, i can not get a PC to recognize the device in Download Mode, so Odin doesn't find it either.
- Boot into Emergency Download Mode (Vol-Up + Vol-Down + Home-Btn + Pwr-Btn): PC recognizes the device, Odin detects it aswel, i can do the Odin setup i found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20896513&postcount=2 , and Odin verifies all files correctly, detects the device on the COM Port, all seems well. When pressing the Start button in Odin it starts out fine, displays the log saying "Download Start..., etc", but it stops at "<1> setup connection...", and there it stays ...
Been trying to find an XDA-Thread or Google solution for this scenario but i'm coming up empty, thus i come here to post the problem ...
Nutshell:
- Phone wont Boot into Android OS, simply won't boot ..
- I can't boot into Recovery Mode to load from SD, simply no more Recovery Mode
- Can boot into Download Mode, but all PC's seem to throw up a "USB Device not Recognized" error, no matter the USB-Cable, thus Odin does not detect the Device
- Can boot into Emergency Download Mode, but Odin doesn't seem to want to install in this manner and halts at setting up the connection...
= What am i to Do????
Please Help! ^^
- Is there some magical driver that will result in the Device Being recognized while it's in Download Mode?
- Is there something i can use or do to install a CWM using Emergency Download Mode or SOMETHING? (Maybe get Recovery Mode working again, or have Odin work with Emergency Download Mode)
Thanks for your time,
Kind Regards!

Try with heimdall, an alternative to Odin : http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/ . For the emergency download mode, you won't be able to do anything with it. And make sure you have the samsung usb drivers : http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117
Tried, same result
Dear TheIcE65,
Thank you for your quick response.
I've tried the USB Drivers you supplied, clean install
Unfortunately these drivers result in the same problem. While the Phone is in Download Mode, once connected windows still throws up a "USB Device not Recognized" error.
Heimdall also does not recognize the device, as Windows doesn't either.
Please help, I'd like to get this Phone un-bricked!
Kind regards
Anyone found a fix for this ?
Exactly the same issues here
