This thread is for those friends who are new to android.
I found that many of us, who wants to move from custom roms to stock roms through odin, have faced some big problems like MIBIB download or SETUP CONNECTION . This happened with me as well... when I moved from cyanogenmod to froyo. So, based on my experience, here are some suggestions which may help you:-
When you select the OPS file, check its name. Its name should be "BENI_v1.0.ops" (without quotes) otherwise odin will not show your device's model number at the top and will stop at MIBIB Download. Please Note that as soon as you select the ops file, odin will show the model number of the device in its title bar regardless of whether the phone is physcally connected to PC or not. In my case, the mbib download problem is solved by renaming the OPS file. You can now install the stock firmware as normal.
If odin is showing the message "setup connection" and your Galaxy Fit is still connected to PC (i.e. COM port mapping box is yellow), then try another stock firmware. In my case, odin stopped at setup connection when I was installing froyo, so then I tried the One Package Gingerbread firmware. And Odin successfully installed it(you can also try another usb port). After then, I went for Froyo once again & Odin successfully installed it too.
Please remember that doing things unknowingly may damage your device. Once the phone is in DOWNLOAD MODE, it can not be switched on either normally or in recovery. It can only enter in DOWNLOAD MODE. I had the two firmwares when I did all this.
Hope this helps...
Press thanks if I helped you...

Note that if ur usb port malfunctions then odin will not proceed further. I recently noticed this major issue. Other errors like "checking plact platform verification" appear due to usb error. Try another pc or laptop(recommended).
1st & 4most, it's necessary that u tick "USB debugging" under "Android Settings->Application Development" b4 going to download mode.
Also, disable any antivirus, firewall...uninstall kies...& at last install/re-install ur Samsung Mobile Drivers. Use Odin 4.38.
The screen u mentioned appears when u exit download mode & try to switch it on either normally or in recovery. Don't worry...!!
1. Take out & re-insert battery.
2. Press "Volume Down & Home & Power button" & you'll again enter downloading mode.
If u want...I can provide u the firmware files that I always use
Hope this helps...!!!

Hi everyone,
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy following the guide from xda developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056334).
I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging)
I started ODIN, then my device rebooted. I started SuperOneClick and I received a message saying "device not found".
Then I went to check the guide, and I saw that I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging).
Can anyone help me to fix this?
I'm from Portugal. If I wrote anything wrong sorry for my mistake and for any inconvenience.
Thank you for any help.
Not sure if you're just having problems with Odin recognizing your phone or not but the basics are to ensure you have the phones drivers installed and enable usb debugging. Afterwards you make sure your phone gets recognized fully from your computer once plugging it in. If so you start Odin AND THEN plug in your phone with the directions for getting to download mode (removing battery and holding volume button etc) and in Odin it should show a connection on a com port tile. Then you load up your files and send them. If anything I am sure you just may have a problem by not being in download mode?

I have the latest drivers from my cell phone operator. I can only have access to Kies on my pc (but now, kies doesn't recognize any device plugged to the pc), my phone don't let me gain access to the menu and to any application.
Get into download mode and go into keis and start a firmware upgrade and initialization. (you will need model number and serial number behind the battery) and go through the process it tells u to. Then you will be back to stock, then try to root from there the proper way.

You could find a stock ROM first (depends on where you bought your phone / country, provider) and flash through Odin. Unplug your phone from your PC > task manager > kill all KIES apps > turn on your phone into download mode > open ODIN > connect phone to PC
Then ODIN should show your phone is connected with a yellow box, depending on what ROM you downloaded you put the needed file in the PDA box (file with the name such as I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XENLP3_HOME.tar.md5), click START and wait until that box goes from yellow to green. Phone should reboot now. If it gets stuck, get into the recovery mode (Vol UP + home + power) and wipe everything.

Now I'm getting an error:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies & try again.
It's a tablet:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (p5100)
In my computer im using windows 10 pro, and adb device is not regonized.
What I neeed to do to get pasted that error?
Thanks for the help!
There is nothing to worry.
It is easy to solve this.
Just download Odin in your pc.
Download the official firmware if your device here.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-P5100/
Now open Odin In pc
Connect your device to the pc .
Now in the app under PDA browse for the firmware you have downloaded and click start.
Wait till it says pass.
That's it you have successfully solved your problem.
Now it will take some time to boot.
In case you feel that you are in a bootloop just go to recovery and perform a factory reset .
Odin download http://odindownload.com/download/Odin3_v3.10.6.zip

Greetings;
I don't know if you already entered Download Mode...
Most problems accessing Recovery and Download Modes are due to having the USB Cable connected.
Remove the cable; press the key combination; and it will boot.
(Except if there's some incompatible ROM flashed by mistake).
After that plug the USB Cable again (if your USB Drivers have also installed for Download Mode) Odin will recognize it (like shown in your Screen Shot).
REMEMBER:
While Flashing do NOT Remove USB Cable, untill Odin Displays "Pass" message.
Further issues: Let us know. We're would be Glad to help.
Previously, I've talked about how I bricked my G920T by using an apk to try to root my phone.
Then I tried to do a factory reset with the stock recovery but it wouldn't even go into the stock recovery. So I flashed TWRP and wiped the whole phone including the system partition.
Then I tried to flash a stock 6.0.1 firmware to the phone but doing so did not improve the situation as my phone still won't boot. Even worse, when I power my phone, all I see is the blue LED indicator, no Samsung logo, nothing.
Then I tried to flash a custom ROM like XtreStoLite but that didn't fix anything either.
When I use TWRP or the stock recovery, the error "failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)" comes up on the log. I tried using the ADB method to fix it but my phone would not get recognized by ADB probably because USB debugging isn't on by default.
I cannot shut down the phone without having it charged to a power source then holding down PWR+DOWN VOLUME+HOME until the screen shuts off.
When I enter download mode, I don't see the warning screen, I enter the download mode directly.
It will warm you when you enter download. Or use TWRP and reboot into Download.Once in download flash the ROM using Odin. Get the latest one from SamFirm.
P.S. Next time root using CF Auto Root

It doesn't warn me when I enter download mode, that's one of the problems.
I tried flashing the official ROM using ODIN, it still won't boot because of the efs error.
1) Download the latest SmartSwitch
2) Click on more -> Emergency software recovery and initialization
3) Go into Device initialization, enter your model name, search for it and proceed as advised by the assistant
That should fix everything, otherwise:
1) Download the latest official firmware for your model, the 4-File (or 3-File) Version
2) Use latest ODIN, check repartition in options
3) Select all the files and flash it
If EFS or DRK is corrupted, flashing roms, custom or not won`t help, it can be fixed via repair box maybe (Octoplus/Z3X)
Try to flash CF auto root for your model, if it still won`t boot, then find someone with a box to try to help you remotely or not.
But Smart Switch emergency initialization with phone sn would be the first thing I would try.

Well if you know someone who have a box, it doesn`t have to be remotely.
If not, it is possible to fix it remotely, with help of usb hub (FlexiHub or similar), tunneling (TeamViewer or similar) and box software (you connect phone to your computer, the other guy connects box to his computer, both of you are connected through a gateway to a wonderfull thing called internet, and everybody is happy ) .
Same as on site, just with few more things in between the phone, and the box.

The S/N sticker on the back of the phone is long gone, is there any other way I can find it besides from going into settings because I can't do that?
EDIT: I am able to borrow a friend's serial and got the firmware installed.
The Samsung boot logo is back now, however, the device still won't boot. The efs error is still there but the download mode warning sign came back.
EDIT #2: Okay, I flashed TWRP now and ADB is working once again. Can I utilize this to fix the efs error?
I rooted my my few weeks ago with snapdragon root, and yesterday I realized that some apps kept crashing, so I rebooted my phone, but it stucks at Tmobile logo. It's confusing since I restore using smart switch before, but I downloaded stock firmware from xda forum, and flashed with odin. And it shows sw rev check fail device 4, binary 3. And it boots in to recovery mode everytime I forced to restart. btw, it says dm-verity verification failed. What can I do to fix this? Thanks for any suggesions.

I had the exact same problem with my phone which is the same model as yours, and after almost 2 days of surfing in the internet like crazy and trying all the diferent programs I found the solution.
1. first go to this video youtube,com/watch?v=RSZiVxJyFb4 (I cant post links so I will substitute the dot in "DOT COM" by a comma)
2.Download the firmware and Samsung drivers in the link in the video which is pangu.in/samsung_firmware.html skip thru the pages until you find your model(this link will download the drivers and a notepad with the link to the actual firmware download page which is sammobile,com/firmwares/
3. type the model number in the search bar (SM-G930T) and select the first one in the list and download it(note: you will need to create an account in this page in order to download the firmware but its only put your email and choose a password so it shouldn't be a problem. extract the firmware after downloaded.
4.Download the version of odin that is linked in the video link: pangu.in/odin_tool.html . Scroll down a lil bit and download the one that says "ODIN 3.11 (GALAXY S7)"HAS TO BE THIS ONE other versions wont work. extract it.
5.After you have downloaded everything(make sure you installed the drivers if you haven't done before) proceed to run ODIN with your phone unplugged from your pc and turned off
6.Load the AP file from the extracted firmware file into the AP tab you will see in ODIN(do all this with your phone UNPLUGED from the PC.
7.Now put your phone(which should be off and disconnected from the PC) into download mode[hold vol down+home+pwr button
then you will be aske to press button up to continue, do so(you probably know how to do this but I said in case other people don't)
8.connect your phone onto your pc and you should see your device show up in odin, now click start and you should be good to go
I hope it works for you since I know how frustrating it is to have such and expensive phone bricked.
