On CM7 based roms, what's the highest resolution video any of you have been able to record and then play out of the hdmi port without it flickering and all that jazz?
Do you have to make any adjustments to get HDMI to work? It won't work from my G2x running RC1. Highest setting for my TV is 1080i. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

You couldn't be more wrong.
You don't wanna know where this was sent from.
Any update on whether or not CM7 supports HDMI? I can't seem to get it to work and I would hate to have to go back to FroYo because then Netflix will not work, which is the main reason I want HDMI out.

I already got that working on my phone at the moment. Im running DarchLegend 4.2.2 and its not fully optimized. Video playback is not as crisp as it should be but I don't know how much better I can get it to run. Let me see if I can upload a youtube video of it in action.
yes please^^
i would so love a stable divx codec on my phone>.<
Has anyone been able to get HDMI mirroring working on the CM nightlies? I've tried just about everything, and I simply cannot get it to work. I know that it is definitely not the cable, my TV, or my phone, because mirroring works fine on stock. Any ideas?
It works for me on build #28, but I always get black screens with no audio about every 30 seconds.

How do you get it working? Just plug it in and it works, or are you doing anything special?

Any response on this yet?
Works just fine on nightly 34. Just plug it in and my tv automatically picks it up no problem.
I'm still having horrible issues with this. My TV keeps saying 'Not Supported Mode' when I connect the phone. If I switch back to stock rom it work perfect.
Yeah I can't get my to do squat.... anything special we have to change in settings or something?

Just out of curiousity, have you tried flashing any of Faux123's roms? If so, could you get them to boot?
works for me on cm7 nightly 40,but any video playback turns the screen on and off for a split second randomly at any given time like once or twice every 5 to 10 min.but games and other apps don't do it

The same here, streaming seems to work fine, but videoplayback is a problem with the camMod from LeJay, at least when you use it's higher settings. when I put the cam on low quality, it worked oke, but that was really ugly on my full hd
I tried FullHDmod_mid, _low and _LG1.0, all the same result.
This may sound dumb, but have the people having issues changed the hdmi setting to 720p? I have had no issues using that setting. Your TV may not be compatible with the 1080p signal.

There aren't any settings for HDMI on Cyanogen.
My problem is that Cyanogen is the only ROM that supports BT gamepads but Stock is the only ROM that I can get HDMI to work. Catch 22 for my emulators but in the end I refuse to emulate without a gamepad. Touchscreen controls just don't do it fer meh.
720p

what i think is cm7 has only 1080p support setup and no auto switch to 720p or any other resolution like on stock am using eb n i have option and it works
i think you tell cm builder and all others to and the option to which switch the resolution like stock or someone to build an app

Is there any update on this? Is there a particular file somewhere that tells CM7 it's HDMI output is 1080 as opposed to 720? I wouldn't mind having either or. I'm not ready to buy a new TV for CM7 support on my G2x, lol!
Wondering if we'll get a gingerbread leak for Christmas?

I'd prefer an ics leak, but that's not happening. But maybe an ics build will pop up, who knows. I used to prefer touchwiz to aosp for the contacts app, toggles and lockscreen/ notification area music controls as well as mkv support and h264 Codec support But now there is soon much in,the market and so much ui wise offered in miui and cyanogen that if it weren't for hdmi I wouldn't think about running a Samsung ROM anymore.
Edit, now that,I think about it. Gingerbread is way more Christmasy than icecream. So,yeah, let's hope for more stuff to play with.
That'd be nice. I have four days off. Hmmm...

Nope. Sad isn't it?
Although the Rogers GB Infuse was not as feature-rich as the AT&T Infuse on Froyo.
The funny thing is that the latest leaks are pretty rock-solid. I think Entropy (I think it was him) hit it dead on when he said a major delay was caused by CIQ integration and subsequent removal.
Not as feature rich? In what sense. I know us Canadian's didn't get the HDMI adapter but that's about all I know about it.

I didn't think your version supported HDMI-out at all. I could be wrong on that though as I don't own one. Also, the camera recording video at 15FPS was less than the AT&T Infuse which records at 30FPS.

No hdmi, low video frame rate, lag in the unlock screen, lower data speeds due to tcp buffer settings, battery drains randomly, no noise reduction for calls,....
Did I miss anything?
I believe AT&T Froyo build was released pretty reved up. Its pretty solid, really all it needs is root. I can live with it, but being the picky ***** I am I need the latest thing being gingerbread ...

Im trying to watch a movie (avi) through my hdmi cable and have sound but no picture. I have used the same set up on a different tv and everything worked fine. The phone is playing the file fine but no video at all is making it to the tv. I am trying to go through a Dennon 2311 since I cant get to the back of my tv. If anyone has any ideas for me I would appreciate it.
Edit; I hooked up directly to my tv (mitsubishi) and still no video, or sound.
What ROM are you on? If you're on CM7 or MIUI, they only do 1080p video out. If you're using a stock based ROM (Weapon, Bionic, etc) go into settings > HDMI and try different resolutions.

Thanks, im on eagles blood which is a CM rom. The movie plays fine on the phone and it is supposed to be in 1080.
It seems to work fine on a different tv so it looks like its going to be an issue with my dennon 2311. thanks for your help.
Right now I am using a motorola stock camera app as I find it better than anything else I have tried, however the video on this is 720p, the stock app that came with the phone was 1080p, does anyone know where I can get the apk for this?
Thanks

Which ROM are you running?
Stock Camera app has 1080p recording option in Stock ROM, but in kexec based ROMs, max is 720p even for stock Camera app.

Running Avatar 3.0. Thanks, didn't realise that. Is 1080p on kexec ROMs likely to ever happen, or is it just not possible?

As of now, I don't think it's possible, though the Devs are trying to fix 1080p recording as well as HDMI.
