Nice work Spike_M, was getting rather annoying lol, would have gotten there eventually

not so fast Lee and spike I tried the patch on Lee's rom and the moment the "tell htc" icon appears in the notification bar,the phone reboots.and it happens all the time.

Great work/ کار بزرگ
Spike_M,
I have question, did you modify the lib/framework?
pls, could you explain me how to do this practice for following rom

I tried it on both ARHD and LeeDroid roms, it still reboots after 30-50 secs. I suspect that the framework.jar is not globally compatible with all roms. Btw I don't think it is related to HTC tell as ARHD has no HTC tell in it.

Cheers mate, and you've beaten Lee to it again xD

Sorry spike, but same issue again, 10-30 secs and the rom reboots. And I did a full wipe with a clean flash of LeeDroid 3.3.1
I don't know if I am doing something wrong though (but the chances of me doing something wrong are very minimal taken I am literally flashing it immediately after the first boot of the Rom).
Cheers for the effort.
PS: Noted that after flashing the patch the Wifi signal is lower than what it is normally for LeeDroid Rom. Hence my suspicion of Framework.jar compatibility issues.

Q. Will this fix BT, MMS, Wifi, Sdcard mount etc...?
A. As soon as I find the fixes I will be adding them to the update.zip
--
Q. Will this erase any data?
A. Flashing one of he ROM's posted above means you did a full wipe so any /data would be formated, the patch itself does not format anything but write into the system.

So even after these "ports" are flashed there is still gonna be tweaks to the system needed to be up 100%?
I'm sorry if thats common sense to some but to me it seems a little tricky...because most [ROMs] that have been prted to the EVO are experincing major issues in simple catagories...e.g - MMS, BT, WiFi, (not mentioning the 4g and HDMI...
Thanks for your work and time that you have put into Android Development

You sir are THE MAN!!!
thank u bro great wrk like always
Omg, i just finished manually doing all of it grrr. Lol.
Quick question, as you said before, a sense rom will need an evo sense kernel and an aosp will need and evo aosp kernel.
How do we implement that into there? Or do we just flash it over the rom before booting?
Awesome work, thanks.
Awesome work! Your keeping the ego exciting to have. The wife hates it but that just shows how good of a job your doing. I flashed sky raider and everything perfect. I flashed the uncommon app pack because I remember reading in one of the hd Rome the it was going crazy because it had the 4 signal bars instead of the 6. Does this matter with all of the Roman or just the hd Roms? Thanks again

Kernel is the boot.img inside your update zip. You will need to include any necessarily modules if needed
Thanks IncDoes. I first followed your Blog tutorial for my first port. This makes everything so much easier.

boot.img is necessary because like its name kinda sorta implies...without it, your phone won't be able to boot up, it would just hang on the white evo screen. The kernel is also contained inside the boot.img.
So if you want to flash a AOSP Incredible rom, you would want to get a boot.img from an AOSP Evo rom and replace the Incredible boot.img with the Evo boot.img. Same thing with a Sense rom.

Ohhhhh i see.
Skyraider vanilla is vanilla right? its not just stripped sense?
So i im going to need to grab a boot.img from cyanogen or Emerald alpha right?
Or can i take a kernel itself and melt it in the boot.img included, for instance kings aosp kernel.
Or can i just flash a different kernel once i boot into the rom?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to learn haha
Thanks
Running sky raider and the only problem I have is no capture button in the cam I guess its because the inc has the track pad. I can get camera to work by holding screen but no dice on video.
Can i flash the desire z version from inc on my evo and get evrything working? Ie: 3g, wifi, radio, bluetooth etc...

because radio flashing is dangerous? its one of 2 things that can cause a full and perm brick (cannot power, cannot charge, no led)
full roms do it as they are supported by HTC, its not recommended in custom roms as it should be left up to the user IF they NEED it.
you add a risk if you include radio in the flash and for what purpose? a radio that is good for you may not be good for someone else depending on area/geographical environment

[ROM] [Apr 16] HTC GingerSense 2.3.3 Leaked Full Apps | Rooted | A2SD+

sbdags HTC GingerSense 2.3.3 Leaked Rom
This is an expansion of the leaked Rom using EddyOS as the base.
Basically I have restored all apps so you get the fully leaked Rom with Stock Apps
This has a slightly older version of HTC Sense - 1.9 which is the flipping clock but not like HD Sense.
Rooted & A2SD+ & Deodexed.
You will have 127MB of Internal space free after first boot which will take 10-15mins after flashing so be patient!
1. Almost stock except for Root and A2SD+
2. APNs are missing so you will need to ad manually (to get 3G/H connection)
3. This is an Asian based English Rom so languages are English, Thai, Vietnamese, etc
Damn Quick and Smooth!!
Enjoy!

Smooth ROM
Coming from CM7 runing radio 26.08.03.07, and I experienced some problems during install of this ROM. It claimed I had no data connection but WIFI quickly solved that. After the install I did have data, however only 2G.
This morning I had no data what so ever. Considered flashing radio 26.08.04.07 but since the source is unknown I don't have the stumac for it.
That aside, this is by far the smoothest sense ROM I ever tried out. Guess I'll be back for more when this problem is solved!

This is Optus Australia ROM.

My First Rooted Phone !! YMMV :)

I only rooted my phone a couple of weeks ago (waited until my guarantee expired) then after getting totally fed up of the HTC stock experience I flashed ROMS in the following order
1. Lowveld's Reaper v3 -
Stable and OK speed, based on CM7 (I did not understand the OverClock stuff at that time) but I prefer HTC Sense
2. Lowveld's Fallout Evolution v4.4 -
Nice with HTC Sense but not quicker than stock for me
3. Nik's Project X - Very fast, beautiful eye candy but 2 critical (for me) bugs
dialer delays so much so that at times I literally had to wait 1 minute before the number I dialled would work
Camcorder no sound
4. Eclipse_Droid's ICE Eclipse v2 -
Very fast but I missed some of the tweaks and eye candy I had in Project X
5. Ronks888's ICE DS v 4.4 - As fast as the above with extra status bar and eye candy tweaks (similar to Project X) and Overclocked Kernel 3 !! !!
Hope this was useful
so in ur opinion "Ronks888's ICE DS v 4.4" is the best Custom ROM for the HTC Desire S atm?

In my opinion ICE DS v4.4 is stable and fast with enough features to be getting on with as your day to day use phone. Fallout is just as stable for example but "I" did not find it as quick as the others.
There are other ROMs with even more features but I found this ROM has a nice balance. If Nik's ROM didn't have the dialer and camcorder problems I would still be using his!
i think the best is yet to come, now that we have the official ICS. ICE DS would probably change it's base to it because it still depends on incredible s' base which is the reason for few bugs.

We will see. For example Nik's new Transformer ROM will be decent. The only question is will you be able to use it as a day to day ROM or just a show ROM. I personally need a day to day ROM.

6. MIUI- fast and pretty but took a couple of reboots before working properly then my alarm program simply would not work with it
7. Ronks888 ICE DSv 4.4 with stock Kernel. I had issues with the sweep2wipe which I think was killing my batttery?
Smooth Rosie MOD for Desire S

9. Fallout Evolution v5 by Low. Very nice ROM from the master but just like with MIUI I have too many issues like apps not working and tweaks going missing. Also with default settings it is still not as quick and smooth as ICE-DS. YMMV.
10 See 8.
have you tried blindndumb's BlindICE? i used to have it and would like to know how other ICS roms compare to it, especially in terms of smoothness. that was the only bad thing i found about it.
i'm now using jellytime but it's not completely stable and i don't know if i can accept going back to less smooth versions.
I'm still using my first custom rom Fallout Evolution v5 and its very stable and usable which is very important for me.
I've not plucked up the courage to try another rom yet but I have made a nandroid back up ready for when I take the plunge
I'm still trying to decide if I need to flash a re-engineered hboot 2.00 as I used revolutionary to gain s-off.(6.98) It wasn't a requirement for my current rom as the developer fixed it, I need to read up a bit more I think.

Depends on the ROM. I think I needed to do upgrade my hboot to 7.0 when I installed MIUI (cant remember now, so many roms).
But the nice thing about Nandroid is that it makes it all so easy.
1.Set up the rom how you like it
2.Use it for a day or two to make sure everything is ok
3.Back up the rom using 4EXT or ROM Manager booting to Recovery mode (Nandroid)
3a. You may also use a separate back up program like my backup root to back up the apps and their data so that you can import them into the new ROM later.
4. READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEW ROM AS GIVEN BY THE DEV
5.Do a full wipe (except SD card)
6.Install new ROM
7.Have fun

Hey man, how did you disable your sweep2wipe? I've read a few guides but it just can't seem to save even after it saves. Thanks! Same ROM as you btw.

Edit the script 50-sweep2wake which is in /system/etc/init.d/and set 1 to 0.

I've done that. But it doesn't seem to save even after. I'm using es file explorer
if that matters
reset the phone after that.

I also manually edited the android_touch file. This should not make any difference but it worked for me?!?

It will work until reboot. That is the point of init.d scripts - to load the change again. Try to update the busybox to make them work
Sent from my HTC Desire S

Hi again
I know the theory but I have rebooted on many occasions and sweep2wake is still disabled.?!?
I always support ICE DS \m/ . but after battery and heat leak on ICE DS 5.0 , i tried latest fallout 5.0. For now, it's working like a charm. no battery leak.

So init.d scripts work for you, but apparently not for the other guy
