neither can I. Same problem. Tried everything you did and more.
I thought the SuperClick Final would save me but NO ....
It is a great Phone/Tablet. It's no good to me if I can't be free with it.
Hi I'm not sure if you have rooted your dell already at this point, but I was able to root mine with superoneclick. However, before doing that you might need to download the latest dell streak 5 drivers from dell. Mine kept looping, too, before I installed the latest drivers. Try it and you may just have luck rooting. Good luck!
Check for "gingerbreak" it will root ur streak in 2 min. Very simple and easy.

i don't think so ask the developer
Hi, my LG-C555 is unlocked & rooted and currently runs Android 2.2. I wanted/needed to change the internal firmware so I tried Gingerbreak (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2) but none of them seems to work.
I was able of pushing gingerbreak.apk (version 0, 1 and 2) to the /data/app folder with the USB debugging mode ON and I also have inserted a formated/mounted SD card in the phone.
Then I installed it normally, the installation started but never ended, it stayed in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... I had to reboot.
How did you manage to install it properly on yours?
Thank you for your time,
highmighty
Hi all,
The Gingerbreak installation starts on my rooted-network-unlocked LG-C550 but it never ends, it stays in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... it finally needed a reboot and unfortunately nothing has changed with the firmware version, it's still Android version 2.2, what could be the problem?
Also, could someone tell me how can I force a flash of the same default "firmware" into it?
I suspect a problem with the installed firmware so that's why I wanted to try Gingerbreak to see if my problem would go away...
Your help is much appreciated!
Regards,
highmighty
@highmighty
It looks like the exploit, which Gingerbreak uses is fixed, you can try to use the Stock-ROM of your phone. There are many other ways out there to root phones. I got my Huawei Boulder rooted with superoneclick, maybe that will do it for you too. If you find a solution please post it here for others.
Best regards

Hi, just a question here. My sister gave me a C550 or C555.
Does the root unlock simlock at the same time, like others devices, or not?
I tried to root it and it didnt work... i tried using z4root, universal androot, and superoneclick, nothing worked...
Help me, how do i root it? Im runing out of memory on phone, and i need to root it, so i could send app's to my SD card... or if someone know-s how to move my app's to SD card, without rooting...???
I have Sony Ericsson x10 mini pro (2.1 update 1)
First of all, what firmware version are you running? No good to us saying Android 2.1, cos theres loads of versions.
The last time I rooted, I used SUperOneClick with RAgeAgainstTheCage (which might flag up as a virus - tell your antivirus to go away). Shouldnt take more than about five minutes as far as I can remember.
hi had same prob with mine but did get it to root using superoneclick when you used superoneclick d id you connect your phone to pc and press charge instead of connect

Hi.! all friends i would like to know something though i'm new Android ...and just got New Dell streak 5 android 2.22 froyo(NO CONTRACT) .would like know few queries
1) what is Rooting & i how safe and stable it is .after rooting..if i stick to my official-rom ?
2)And what is the best way to Root Dell streak Devises .?
3) if i Unroot my Devise after Rooting will it Void my warranty.???
Cheers and thanx for this Lovely Website dear Admin
1) Nothing will change to the Rom, but you'll be able to flash a new one once you have root (if you like). And as long as the tool or App you use is save, nothing will happen to the phone
3) Depends on the un-rooting procedure and the policy of DELL. I guess, the manufacturer could trace a root even if you try to hide, that the phone was once rooted or flash the stock rom again. However, the question is, will DELL wan't to do that? It needs time and I guess if you'd send it in, they'll just set it to stock to start working on problems...
what Rooting software should i use to root my dell streak 5 and later to unroot too which can do both ...good way .?
try superoneclick or z4root, they can root and unroot your phone with just one click.
but if you feel your current device is good enough for you, then feel free to keep it that way
Thanx a tone but hear that z4root gives problem when i unroot my devise ....any tips which version will work for me of superoneclick.? lill help would be nice ..

Hi, this is my first android phone (Dell Venue). I got it about 2 weeks ago, and have been trying to root it since. I have tried z4, superoneclick several versions new and old, and universal androot 1.6.1. Not sure if any of those shouldn't be used on this phone but am completely new and I have no idea about the terms being used or anything for that matter. I have tried turning off my phone and turning it on for superoneclick. I have tried to toggle dev access. None seem to work. The closest i got was with the 2.1.1 superoneclick and trying to turn it back on when it says, "waiting for device", this goes all the way to step 5 and then it errors out saying "remounting/system with read-write access...error: closed. FAILED".
I have 2.2.2 froyo on it and not sure if you require any further information. I would really like to root this phone, if someone can help me with pictures or a video on how i can do this or tell me what it is i'm doing wrong, it would be much appreciated. I have tried this on windows 7 64bit, windows XP pro, windows xp, and windows 32bit.
Please can someone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks,
Vai
Have you googled?? I did that for you and found this and this
Yes lol, i have googled, and i have no only followed that but several other forums and ways. I have also followed the thread on this forum as well. For some reason it just will not work and mind you i have 3 of these dell venue phones that i have been trying to root.
