tiamat kernel undervolted? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i am wondering if the tiamat kernel 1.4.4 or 1.4.5 is undervolted.
looking at the battery procentage it doesnt seems so, but i dont know.
do you know if it is undervolted?
or when it will be undervolted? i´dlike to save my juice xD

[Q] Tiamat 1.4.1 on WiFi only Xoom overclocking on it's own

Correct me if I am wrong. My understanding Tiamat 1.4.1 do not suppose to overclock to 1.5GHz on it's own, unless I will use something like SetCPU?
Correct. That said, the overclocking was not created by tiamat, it was pulled from another kernel. They are actually talking about removing it at this time, due to MANY users reporting the issue you are having.
well my xoom has no problems with the OC and i love it. I would just tell you and everyone else to get setcpu so you can control the speed. if you want to use the OC use it if you do not then don't. I just hope they leave it in there.

[Q] Can someone attach the stock Xoom Kernel?

I have a US Wifi Xoom and I recently flashed a AOSP OC Kernel and I'm scared that my Xoom will mess up. Today I unplugged my Xoom and it shut off by itself. I couldn't turn it back on the normal way. I had to hold volume up and power. I have a feeling its kernel related since I flashed it last night. Thanks.
For the US WIFI Xoom, follow the instructions on this thread to return to stock:
USA WIFI 3.1 Stock:

Pretty straight forward.
Just out of curiosity, which OC kernel did you use? If you're pushing to 1.6GHz, it may not be as stable as others. There are others - 1.5GHz and 1.4GHz that you can try for more stability.
Tiamat's 1.4.2 Kernels:

Keep in mind though, these kernels are tested rigorously before deployment, so unless you decide to mess with the files themselves, you shouldn't inflict any harm on your XOOM with these Kernels.
I did the 1.5 kernel and I just found it weird because I saw a thread today about someone's Xoom not turning on.

Hello,
Is that possible to have an added kernel to theTiamat list: one without any OC?
Battery consumption is a big concern for me...
Sorry for the post in here but I'm still limited to Q&A on XDA.
You don't have to overclock even though you flashed an oc kernal. I have 1.6 oc and I don't oc at all.
Is there an option to turn off overclock or is the kernel supposed to work with SetCPU or another OC app?
If OC isn't set as default then that's a good thing because I don't see any advantage to overclocking the Xoom.
It was a scare and I don't want it to happen again. Is prefer the stock kernel to avoid any problems.

The OC isnt set by default. It is still set to the default 1GHz.
The kernel just allows you to overclock to 1.6GHz if you wish.
I had another weird reboot yesterday. The last thing I flashed was the kernel.
Might do that sometimes. Might be whatever you were doing. Or the xoom isn't used to the kernal, or just plain don't like it.

[Q] OC voltages (netarchy)

Im trying to OC my I9020A to 1300 MHz w/ netarchy cfs and having problems. It randomly freezed overnight after I thought everything was good. voltage set to: 1425 mV.
What are other people have luck with?
also: anyone else having voodoo sound not work with the latest netarchy version?
also: chainfire 3d doesnt work with this kernel?
weird, i still have issues with those voltages. could it be because im running stock rom?
also, it is VERY quick to freeze/restart when OC'd to 1200 and I simply play a video in moboplayer...

[Q] Kernels

Hey all,
I am new to the Android community. I just rooted my Nexus and flashed the Oxygen rom on it. It comes with the Netarchy kernel 1.3.5.(has awesome battery life) On the forums i noticed a lot of people posting about a trinity uv kernel for oxygen. Can anyone explain the difference between the kernels. Will changing the kernel affect my battery life?. And there is a new netarchy, should i update it to the latest version or just use the one which comes with the rom.. I am really a novice here, So any help would be appreciated. .
Try both out and see which one you like better.
You can undervolt using Netarchy as well. You can either use SetCPU or Proton Voltage Control to undervolt.

Do these kernels overclock the sgx540 gpu?
If so by how much?

overclocks CPU not GPU
But people saying the trinity kernel also overclocks the gpu which explains high quadrant. Also for galaxy s kernels they say 1500mhz for cpu equals 250mhz for the gpu and they have the same hardware.

[Q] CFS or BFS for battery life?

Is there any difference in battery life between BFS and CFS?
From the research I've done CFS seems to be better but I'm not 100% sure so I could be wrong.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
CFS (completely fair scheduler) usually handles all tasks "equally" where as BFS (brain f*ck scheduler) dedicates all its processing power to whatever task you are currently doing. in theory, CFS should produce bettery battery life, but like the above poster said, that could be completely 100% wrong. it really depends on how you use your device and what tasks you use the most, etc....at least this is the understanding I have of the difference between CFS and BFS. i am currently running a CFS kernel build and have exceptional battery life, but then again I am a "conservative" user. as in I turn off things when not using it, don't use live wallpapers often, etc. best thing you can do is nandroid backup and test both out for a reasonable time and see which works best for you. also keep in mind every single device is different too. some handle OC better than others, so the same reasoning can be applied to other things.
Personally like BFS more
But some rom like MIUI rom prefer CFS. Haha.
