Is there an app that enables your phone to directly be an fm transmitter? Instead of having to hook up a transmitter to your phone, is it possible to transmit directly from the phone with the given hardware? I would believe there is due to the radio app on the phone...
Not 100% sure but I believe that is something that has to be built into the phone itself. Theres no app that I'm aware of that can do this but maybe someone else can chime in if I'm wrong.

Not that I know of...but that would be a cool feature to have.

The hardward is not built into the phone. It would be handy though.

Moved to Q&A.
I can't help you much except I can confirm there's an app capable of this, I was looking into it for my phone at one point. Keep looking and you'll find it, wish I could help more but I can't recall what it was called.
never used it and cannot confirm it works for xoom but google found me this:
(ok, appears i'm not able to send links because i dont have enough posts)
google for "android remote camera app" and its the first result
IP Webcam
Is there an app or option somewhere to make music play mono? I only use one bud at work and it would be nice to hear all the music. I Googled and only came up with dead threads with no answers.
On iPhone/iPod there was an option in accessibility for that. For the deaf and such. Just wondering if I overlooked it something.
Thanks!

Some headphones/earphones have a switch on the cord that allows you to switch between mono and stereo.

Not what I'm looking for. That requires a purchase of new hardware. I want a software solution.

Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate it!

Hey. I don't know if this belongs here or the android app section but since I'm having this issue on an inspire, I'll post here. I have the latest version of xda premium and they said they fixed the add shortcut feature but mine isn't working still. Tried reinstalling and still the same issue. Anyone get their "add shortcut" working or is this still pretty much still an issue with the app? Thanks.

Mine doesn't work either.

alright. so even though they said the issue has been addressed in the latest version, they obviously havent worked out all the kinks at least with certain hardware/software configurations. too bad cause that feature would be so useful to the app. guess we just got to wait for the next update.
Upload picture never works... Never been able to atach picture to post using XDA.

I have an eclipse/tomtom car stereo that uses a cellular connection via bluetooth for updates/traffic jam warnings/camera locations and realtime detours+handsfree and even text messaging on the touchscreen indash. All these features and more worked with my $59 boost mobile prepay phone and my blackberry. The only thing that works with my sgs4g is the handsfree. It tells me these bluetooth services are not supported. Is there any way to get support for these features/services? Also Is bluetooth stack the proper term for what I'm looking for?

As I remember my TomTom from several years ago, it needed the equivalent of Bluetooth data tethering. It it pretty rare on newer phones, at least the US ones I've seen. I suspect that carrier specs to the manufacturer have someone to do with it.
If you knew what Bluetooth profile you needed, you might be able to rework the Framework to support it, but I haven't seen a lot of requests.

Unlimited 4g. I'm sure you've all heard about it. I went and checked it out. Apparently the only catch is you can't hotspot. But since I'm rooted and running cm7 I should be able to still use hotspot with a third party app, right?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Tethering is built into cm7, no need for an app.. and you might need to change the user agent on the device you tether so you don't get the tmobile redirect.

I am on the unlimited 4g, if I use Firefox, default settings, it seems to work fine. IE blows in the first place, but for the sake of mentioning it, and doesn't work, routes everything to a page telling me to buy tethering. I can also torrent just fine. I guess part of it is just the port it's set to listen on, 80, and if there is activity on other ports, so what.
Edit: also, SSL sites work.

I use the hotspot for my laptop and my lady's g2x. She is on the monthly 4g I'm not concerned with using my laptop, it's her g2x that worries me. I don't see how tmobile would catch on. But I wanted to run it by you guys before switching and potentially voiding my contract

so what your saying here is that if i switch to the New Unlimited Nationwide 4g data package i wont be able to tether my tablet to my phone?
That's what they told me but (I may be wrong) if you are using a custom rom or just rooted with a thrid party hotspot app tmobile want be able to detect or stop you, right?

Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
I use Google Chrome & change the user agent. Give that a go.
How do you do that without an add-on
I figured it out. I sometimes forget Google answers all.

bit the bullet and switch to the unlimited 4g plan and i havent had any problems with surfing the web or streaming media on my tablet tethered to my phone. i have gtab 2 with cm10 and g2x with cm7.
