Anyone out there know if our devices will reach the mass they had in the 80's? It seems every new phone with nice specs is BIG. I may have to go without the dual processors and front face cam and stick with the reasonably sized DInc.
this is not a joke. I really am wondering. 4" + screens are nice but...
What kind of devices, from 80th you say? What features were those devices? Then correct to compare the modern devices to computers 80th, but not phones.
I wish that could happen but don´t think so....
I remember the great dimensions of the great HTC Universal!

How long do you think we will be waiting for some nice custom black housing/trackballs for the Nexus etc?
Also has anyone stripped one yet and how hard was the process?
Just wondering as I used to do this a lot when I was a CrackBerry addict and loved switching the look of my 9000 up.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

Colorware? They'll tear apart/rebuild the phone for you, but I believe (Not sure x.x) that you get to keep the old parts so you can switch between the two.

Wonderful Chinese do it all phones... They imitate look of almost every phone, and all tout: dual sim, wifi, TV, FM radio, touch screen. Hell the specs aren't bad just always bad interface, that iPhone wanna be OS.
Wonder if they built Android to work with their phone if people would give the Chinese knock offs a chance
Oh yea how long before we all have Wrist Watch Phones w/ Camera & Bluetooth.
Also noticed on that site, knock offs that are running android, even capacitive touch according to the site.
That looks like the new Blackberry lol
i had a friend that got a chinese iphone
it had space for 2 sim cards and made an unchangable barking sound when you got a message
lol

That... is awesome.
GAlarm has a great background when the alarm is up. Sadly, it is not available. So I was wondering if anyone had any backgrounds they currently use as the backdrop for their alarm. My phone background is way too busy, and a black screen is so boring.
How about this one?

Shameless bumping I am a fan of phone backgrounds in general.
Are you more concerned with the image you fall asleep too, or the one you wake up too? If that makes sense...I realize it'll be that same pic, it's all about the mood, I guess.
I found a nice little app called "lightning bug" that is a nice sleep enhancement device,
Customizable backrounds, ambient sounds etc..

My images were 640x480. However, I did just find one of them on the following page and it has some higher resolutions:
http://www.androidcentral.com/android-wallpaper-ringtone-tutorial
What is the recommended resolution for a captivate wallpaper?
All Galaxy S/Captivate (others like Nexus 1/S, and more) should use 960x800 wallpapers for best results.
I need to get an inexpensive cellphone for my Mom. She's elderly and has Parkinsons Disease, so her hands shake a lot.
Are there any good cellphones with large buttons that are extremely simple to use?

I'm guessing something strong too

my grandma is using a doro phone and is perfectly happy with it.
I decided on this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...droid.launcher.activity&feature=order_history
Tried it out on my phone and it's sweeet!
Getting her a Samsung Infuse with the 4.5" screen tonight to install it on for her.

Just to update the thread, I bought a Dell Streak 5 with the 5" screen.
But somehow broke it.
Now I bought a Samsung Infuse with the 4.5" screen. Time to ROM & Roll!

Yes I also agree the Big Launcher will be fine. If you are looking for simplicity and easy to use. Have a look at John's Phone (https://www.johnsphones.com/ww/en/)
The price seems to be not too bad and it has many designs to choose from.

The slogan and the "totally different plug" are absolutely brilliant.
As for the rest.. I guess it depends on how naive they are.
All in all, better than their usual hit-or-miss stuff. The only big thing missing is a snide reference to the patent litigation (but I suppose it would have been awkward to place).
Is that iPhone image retouched or does it really look that lanky because of the way Apple streched it?
Standby/talk time, removable battery and resolution I think will be the big points of note for casual users. Most people who aren't techies won't care about differences in RAM and such. Not sure why they included the weight at all, though.

Weight actually makes sense. Of course everyone will assume the larger phone weighs more, and the 3.95 vs 4.7 makes it seem like not much more.
(I suppose that a 4 vs 4.7 would've been even better, but that they couldn't get away with that.)
nice ad .

I guess they spent a pretty penny developing S Voice because that's the only reason I could see promoting that unpolished poopcicle.
