[sarcasm]Whoah...slow down, man...the amount of information you're throwing at us is a bit overwhelming...give us time to catch up on all of this!!!![/sarcasm]

do a fresh wipe and freeze bloatware, you will see a difference, i get 17hrs plus on my phone.

id say my battery is tough!
can last me all day and maybe enough for the next.
moderate use - lots of texting, phone calls, internet use, and some apps.

*sigh*
What rom?
What kernel?
How long of a life do you get?
Post your battery usage statistics. Settings-About Phone-Battery Use will tell you what's been using it since last charge, the app Spare Parts will tell you overall usage.
We can't help you if you don't give us any useful information.

why even bother dude? best way to learn is to solve your own problems, trial and error...

Thanks for all the feedback sarcasim and all. I've never had a battery issue before I installed the recent apk of the new android market. That is my only guess.
Is there a way to revert back and wait for the official update from the market? (I'm still new to android so I'm feeling my way around)
I am running stock rooted. Nothing special on this end.

I pulled the SIM outta my G2x last week after my N1 came back from the dead.
With the G2x just sitting there without a SIM, being used occasionally for Riptide or Pinball HD and some web browsing/email while watching the tube I get a solid 3 days of battery life. I forget the stupid thing is even on until the alarm goes off every morning at 6:45.
Just don't use the phone part of your $500 phone and it will work great!

solution
it was the downloaded apk for the market. i did a complete reset so this should fix my issue.

[Q] Can I get some help with my logcat file

These couple of days, my battery drain has been abnormal. I just got a tablet and have not been paying much attention to my nexus S, but strangely enough, the nexus S battery drain seems to be more now than I am using it less.
I have been pouring over my logcat for the whole of last night and this morning but I cannot seem to make head or tails with it.
Could any experts have a look at it and see where the problem lies, I don't know if I have caught myself one of those malwares or some app is misbehaving?
Much appreciated.
Could some please help me have a look at this because its driving me insane, trying to figure out the misbehaving apps.
Would really appreciate any help at all.
You seem to be using a lot of activities/Intents without stopping any of them.
Maybe try downloading an advanced task killer from the market and make sure to stop several tasks as even leaving ur phone idle with them running drains the battery.
So yeah, try getting one of those and stopping the tasks running at times.
I don't recommend atk it will season the same if not more if you have run away activities and keep killing them you need to get to the root of the issue. What does settings say about your battery use?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
On the settings > phone > battery, it looks normal. Thats why I went into logcat. However over night I am losing about 30% whereas I know with my current settings, i would only lose 2-3% maximum.
Really no one? I got a Google plus invite for the person who is willing to help
Lol I forgot about this will look in a minute

I really do not know what to say. Initially, the battery was fine. Then I am not sure what happened, the battery life became adnormal. Pouring through the logcat file, I was not able to find anything wrong. I tend went to try another rom Miui to be specific. Found that that was not my cup of tea. I could not install swype to save my life. I reverted back to my backed up ROM, which is really a rooted stock build number GRJ22 and now the battery life has gone back to what is was before but now its giving me too much battery life??!!
My usage is very light at best, because I am still playing around a lot with the new tablet that I got.
Sorry bro dropped the rom and was busy I got time today but did you get rid of the issue?

Yeah no problems man. The problem seem to have fixed itself.

thank you LG for gingerbread works great!!!

I updated..must restore stock recovery and unroot...wow everything works great...lets talk about positive changes this update has done to our beloved g2x's.
Plugging in a USB cable the mass storage notification now pops up so fast it startles me.
Finally a positive thread.. My phones doing good as well.. No update will be bugless..
Everything I use works great. But there are some tiny things...... but its the best gingerbread build I've ever run on the g2x that's for sure.

On my 3rd G2x and it has been solid cept for a few things, such as GPS taking up to 20 minutes to lock, apps being unable to be moved to SD-card, whenever adding an app or widget to the homescreen would lock up the phone for a bit and would take up to 5 minutes to pull up a list, eating through a battery down to 40% after a full charge within 3 hours of light use.
Granted I fixed almost all those issues by rooting it and applying fixes I discovered through this wonderful forum. From the GPS fix (it locked within about 20sec-3minutes, much better than before) and the pre-opt-dex patch that was put up here which totally helped when adding apps/widgets to the homescreen(3-10 seconds compared to the 5 minutes). To some battery monitoring apps and charging techniques that helped me get the best out of my battery, which saw a full charge last about 9 hours before it squealed to be plugged back in.
Now with Gingerbread finally installed the GPS lock is virtually instant, the apps/widgets are likewise, almost instant. The battery seems to be a bit better. I took it off the charger at 4pm and its still at 25% at this time (12:49am).
As odd as it seems, I look back and am thankful for the buggy G2X. While I really liked my Nexus One, I never really delved into the community much. It was a solid phone and never had any problem, save for the complete lack of space to put apps on it. The buggy G2x lead me to this wonderful forum which was full of people with helpful opinions and great tips. Through the assistance of everyone here I learned a lot more about the Android system and about phones in general. Coming from a big PC background (I like building and fixing them) I liked that the Android OS provided me with similar work around that I did when working on PC's.
So, while the initial experience with the phone was nightmarish, in retrospect I really learned something, it's good to know that there is a group of people dedicated to making sure we get the best out of our phones and freeing us from the shackles of the providers limitations on the phones (rooting rocks!!)
A note to T-Mobile and LG. Why did you rush this phone?!?! I would have gladly waited till July for a fully functional phone. Without Gingerbread this is one of the most powerful phones in the universe, with Gingerbread it can now take advantage of that power. It's not like the competition was putting out anything much better than the MyTouch4g at that time, yes the Atrix, but that was a buggy nightmare too. So what if the Sensation beat this to market, this has stock android, an arguably better (supported at least) GPU, and is rootable. I would have waited. Look right now, for my criteriahttp://blogs.computerworld.com/16755/android_user_interface for a phone my options are currently the G2X, Nexus S and....can't really think of anything else... So seriously, coming from a Nexus One, the obvious choice is the G2X. I would think that a decent chunk of the people reading this would agree.
same here
I was one of the lucky ones to have a G2x without issues
stock phone not rooted, update went thru without problems and the phone feels snappier; I do miss the original LG camera app though
It's good to hear everyone is happy with their phone...now I won't have to read about everyone jumping ship to the sensation.

uhhhh try restarting the phone first and see if that fixes it... otherwise you are going to have to throw CWM on there and restore to stock and try doing the update again OR wait until there is a flashable bootloader posted up which is likely to be soon...

And was it my imagination, or is the universally-despised "battery fully charged" pop-up gone now? (I charge overnight while I'm sleeping, so it could well be that I dismissed it in my sleep.)
Updated mine as i couldn't resist anymore. Only thing now is getting root access again.
I tried Super 1 Click Root 1.9.5 but no go. Has anyone succeeded in getting root after updating to 2.3.3? Please share your root info.

Ultimate Juice & Juice Defender WORKING!!!

Uninstall both JD Ultimate & JD, then restart phone.
Install JD Ultimate FIRST and launch it. It will ask you to instal JD. either get it from the market, or install the private beta, if you have it.
Once both are installed, launch JD.
I'm running it in Advanced Profile.
IF YOU'RE IN A 3g ONLY AREA, you need to check the box for "Mobile Data Autofix". It SHOULD NOW toggle your 3g data connection when you unlock the screen. It takes about 45 seconds because it's restarting the radio; but it does come back on.
IF YOU'RE IN A 4g/LTE AREA, no need to check the Autofix box. The 4g connection pops right back on IMMEDIATLEY after unlocking.
I have tested this successfully in 3g Richmond, VA AND in 4g Boston, MA over the last week consistently. I have also reported my findings to the Latedroid Feedback & Support Forum. The Devs have confirmed the sequence and are invesigating it as a possible firmware issue.
So, for now, 4g is working perfectly... 3g works with about a 45 second delay. And I'm @ 1.76x battery savings boost! Went almost 12.5 hours on 4g, heavy internet, sms, and FB app use. But, now, unfortunately I'm back in slow 3g Richmond!
Well, I bought and installed JD ultimate because of this post and I messed up my phone big time.
It seemed to work great at first, then I totally lost my data connection and even turning off the app and restarting didn't fix it. I finally did get back my data by deleting JD and restarting/pulling the battery etc but the system is still not right.
It is very laggy now and I will have to do a system restore (something that always makes me a little nervous)
I am running gummy 1.9.1 and I really don't want to redo the whole system, but I may have to I suppose.
I would not advise anybody to try this app at this point.
~John
I have been running JD plus on Gummy GB for about 3 weeks. Switches just fine and my data has been coming back. Why do you have to have ultimate? I have not seen any updates on my version either?
I think I must be lucky but it has been working for me.
I can't imagine how JD screwed up your phone the way you describe Jmorton. I doubt it's the app.... Ellisz, you are lucky! Lol! There are a couple support threads open on this issue over at Laterdroid. For whatever reason this is what worked for me. I already owned Ultimate from my Droid X, so that's what I use.

This is the ONLY change I have made in weeks and the problem started almost immediately. Removing the app did get my data running again and the phone does seem OK now after multiple reboots/battery pulls and clearing the memory.
I guess it may work in then GB ROMs, but in my froyo setup it caused all kinds of problems. Iwill just shut off 4g with my toggle when I don't need it and carry a spare battery which is no big deal.

I use it regularly since the start, I have no noticeable battery drain.
I use it and don't mind it, I get around 2 days of battery with moderate use and some calls. Wi-fi is always on, localization services are always on, mobile data (3G) is always off. It lasts me more than one day even if I keep using the phone so I'm fine with it.
I would say it 'eats' 10 to 50% more battery per charge depending on usage. If you have it mostly in standby you are more likely to notice the battery hit. If you keep using the phone for one thing or another, it won't make much difference.
With 4.2.1 it seems to hold pretty well while being very snappy. The official 4.1.2 follows the same trend (lasting around 2 days with the same use), but I really liked how fast it got with Air Kernel. I usually have around 200 MB free.
I'm currently using Rasbeanjelly (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028718) with Air Kernel #270 (CM,Voodoo Colors http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469842) and noop+SmartAssV2 setup. So far battery seems to hold up fine through the day. The only real downside I got from this was the occasional sleep of death (while using the phone, very weird, I would report it to the maintainer but I can't as I'm new around here), a FC when accessing Chrome settings (seems to be related with google sync feature) and the less stellar performance when changing orientation (same kernel and official 4.1.2 ROM doesn't have the issue).
Although it is handy sometimes, I think the worst aspect is the 'nagging' that Google Now has. Last time I got a "WTF" expression was with it saying that I walked 40Km that month more 20 than the last month, a nice feature, but completely unexpected, I would like to have a proper access to that kind of cards and the information that they provide... If you search weather it won't give you the same weather card shown automatically by it (at least for me).... one of these says it will be ready to take over the world...
G next should do you pretty well

I find it useless. I have my weather app, and I have my lottery app. Hockey has been cancelled, so I have no scores to keep checking. What would I use it for? Random google search? Meh.
I hate every time I accidentally hit the search button.

I use Google Now because I'm fascinated by the creepiness of it. I like that when I'm at work, it tells me how long it will take me to get home if I leave now. I was confused when one Saturday at 11:45 am it was giving me the locations of nearby restaurants, then my wife said it's probably because it's almost lunch time. Google Now knows what I want before I do!
I haven't tried turning it off to save battery life yet, but I unplug from the charger at 6:30 am and plug in at midnight no problem.

I use it every day because it is fantastic! I can get lots of information from it. I love it.
Ok. So I had previously disabled Google Now because it drained so much battery. But I was wanting to use it since the updates keep getting better so here's what I did to where it isn't destroying battery anymore.
I have Latitude and location updating turned off in Maps, but found out enabling Google Now turned location updating back on. So once you have Now enabled, go into Maps and uncheck where it says "Update my location from this device". It still works fine because I have location reporting (or something like that) turned on in Google sync in Settings. It still uses wifi and/or the towers to update your cards, but Maps isn't taking chunks out of the battery anymore.

I'm 100% certain it's some app or process that's running your battery down.
Facebook and Facebook messenger are awful on battery. I normally use xda(legacy) app but tried this newer one and found it eats my battery (sorry guys).
Look at your battery usage (settings/battery) and make a note of who is using what.
Greenify works wonders.
L Speed also works great as an all around tool (read up on it)
Most of us are starting to measure our battery life in X hours SOT or screen on time. You can have 1k hours of battery life but if aren't using your device that doesn't really count.
My daughter has issues with all those silly messaging apps the kids are using now. They chew on your battery all day.
Check your battery usage. That should point in the right direction.
See how much just this xda app has used in over 2 hours. I opened the app to respond earlier to this thread and that's it.

The new XDA App is also a market. I see your Google Services is high at 13% also. I am guessing you have a few updates pending. I wish Google would fix that drain rather than force us to update apps to get rid of it. So my guess is the new XDA app is checking for updates as soon as you open it and causing all that usage.

Possibly. The newer app consistently logs me out. And although it's very pretty, it seems to be all over the place. I think the "help us better..." part of the app is also a culprit.
I will say the newer xda does a better job of notifying me on mentions and quotes.
