Is anyone having problems downloading apps from the market this is the message I'm getting . I have wiped everything but my sd card. I have tried a few different market apks. And a few different roms on wifi and 4G .

Uninstall the new market and try out the old one? I've yet to receive that error. So far all I've got with the new market is "NETWORK ERROR" and i hit retry a few times and it goes away.

The new market has given me nothing but trouble also. I had to switch back.

I am going to blame it on the new market as well. I haven't upgraded to it yet bit I haven't had any problems here on the old one. Don't forget to post your resolution if you come across one.

I'm running the new market and am not having any trouble

I have tried an old market apk and it just says download failed. I'm going to try to reformat my SD card when i get home

Are you on stock or a custom Rom?

Is the Android Market down right now?

I can't seem to download anything. I got my replacement Cap today and I put my SIM card and battery in it. I started to download SMS Backup and Restore but it wouldn't download or install successfully. I put my SIM card and battery back on my old Cap and tried to download SMS Backup and Restore, and other apps on the Market. Nothing. Can't even download the latest version of Google Maps.
Anybody?
EDIT: Yes, it's down. All of us are experiencing the same Download Pause, or Downloading... (hangups), or Install Unsuccessful. It's not you, or the ROM you've just flashed. It's Googey.
EDIT #2: It's back up and running. Download away!!!

I mean, I can get on and browse and all. But I can't download. Clearing the cache, um...it's a brand new phone (from the Warranty dept) that I received and I just put my SIM card and battery in it. Brand spankin' new. Plus, I even did a factory reset thinking it would resolve the problem.
Seems people are having problems downloading too. Great.
Problems here also....

Still down like a clown dancing with Julie Brown.
It's back! Nothing to see here.

Thanks, I actually may have fixed it by accident. I used odin and again and used the PIT this time and then went into 3e and went to the option to delete user data and when the phone rebooted i went thru the setup guide and skipped everything. I then went to the market and it had me go thru the google sign up guide and i signed into my account and then i went into the manage applications and saw that the market version was 2.3.6 so Im not sure if what i did worked or if it was just me.
Just FYI it auto updates to the latest version. Had the same thing happen to a new Infuse I picked up today for my wife.
Hers hadn't updated after 10 minutes so did the following (posted on a Google help forum I can't link to because I'm noob):
Delete the market's cache and data and force close it, reboot your phone. After reboot start the market wait a minute go back to home and then restart the market.
This "worked" for me, but waiting a little longer or rebooting may have been what actually fixed it.

I did delete the cache and data and i waited like an hour and it didn't update. Whatever i did before worked.
Thanks for your help.
try downloading an app, it should then say updates available in the notification bar, it may automatically update or you can go into "my apps" and see the updates. if that doesnt work i guess i can pull the apk and post it
I got it figured out, but before it did update some apps.
It eventually changes, mine stayed liek that for 3 days i think then just changed to the new one...
i kind of like the old one tho.

[Q] Market Download Unsuccessful

I posted this over in the android general section. Hoping someone over here might see it since its on my Infuse.
I have a similar problem that many people have had with downloading apps from the market, however none of the solutions i have seen work. I purchased ADW Launcher Ex from the market the other day and it wouldnt authorize. I replaced all my billing info and then it authorized fine. I click on the purchased button and it authorizes, then says starting download, but after about 5 seconds it just stops and goes back to the bottom of the "my apps" list. I dont get a notification saying the download was unsuccessful, but when i try to download and install again, it says download unsuccessful and just goes through the same process all over again. Anything and everything else downloads and installs just fine.
I have tried wiping data and cache of the market and download manager.
I have restored my phone using CWM to a previous backup.
I have reinstalled my custom rom.
I tried an alternate rom.
I have reset my phone to factory.
I reinstalled the stock rom.
I tried logging out of and back into Talk.
I added another gmail account as well.
If ANYONE has any other ideas PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. Stupid google hasnt emailed me back yet, so i figured id probably get more help here anyway. Thanks in advance.
Your external SD card is causing issues with the mounted filesystem.
Try backing up everything that's on the card in your pc first, and then format the card. See if your purchases load then...

Tried it to no avail. Formatted the internal sd card as well. still nothing. Thanks for the idea.

Just tried that and it didnt work. Downloaded GTG's ultimate unbrick to go back to complete stock. Still not downloading. I have no idea what else i could possibly do.
Try to set up a new account and see if you can down load things through that.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
Im able to download everything else just fine with the same account. Its only ADW for some reason.
And of course im still waiting for google to get back to me.
Dont know why. But it just decided to download all on its own. Thanks for all the suggestions.

It takes some time to authorize a purchase sometimes. I bought Launcher Pro, and it said "authorizing" and didn't download. I went to bed and when I woke up it had downloaded.

Can't download or install apps from the market

Exactly what the subject says. I tried clearing all data in the market app but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm running stock 2.2.2 with an OC kernel. Any help would be appreciated.

What are the symptoms that you are experiencing when you try to download an app
Sent From My Stock G2x
It says "Your item will be downloaded," after which the download bar appears. It disappears after a second as if the download had never even begun.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Try deleting dalvik cache, fix permissions. Turn off the phone for few minutes, turn it back on.
Did this started to happen after flashing kernel?
Make sure you are in a good reception area as well.
Sent From My Stock G2x
I think it did happen after kernel flashing. Sounds like a good idea. I'll try that and if it doesn't work I'll try reflashing Google apparently. I've noticed authentication errors. Barring that it's back to stock. Thanks for the advice

Same thing happened to me.. I fixed permission from Rom manager then reboot.
Now its working fine.
Just tried that myself. It seems to be working again

This same exact thing happened to me after changing kernels. I went back to stock and it was still happening. Four hours later everything was fine again. Weird.
Not only do you need to clear market data.. But make sure you clear 'download manager' data too in applications
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The problem started up again and continued after flashing back to stock. Someone else said that in this thread. I'll try the download manager wipe suggestion too. Thanks for all the input. I'm on a wifi network with a strong signal so it's a stable connection... Aaaaaand... starting download... still starting download... still still starting... At least it's doing something. I'll check back in later. Thanks again!
If I wipe dalvik cache, cache, fix permissions, and reboot after letting the phone sit for 10 minutes I can download four or five apparently after which the problem returns. I've also noticed that Google talk can't seem to log in.

[Q] Apps not downloading from Google Play

Is anyone else having issues getting apps to download? It started for me after flashing back to stock so I could check out the toggles mod. Since I froze updater.apk in order to stop the OTA update notification, I assumed that was the cause. Now, I'm running 77.8.10 with the stock kernel and I still have the problem. Apps look like they are going to update or download but just hang there and I eventually get error 495. The only thing that works for me is wiping the cache/dalvik cache--within a few days, the problem comes back.
I've had problems with the play store too, but I thought it was more of a connection issue. It'd start to go through the process of dl'ing but would hang as soon as I click accept. It adds the app to the installed list and show that its queued, but would never download. I'd have to cycle my wifi to get it to go again.
That's the only problem I've had with the play store.
