Like topic states i am not recieving.any calls. Everything else works, outbound, txt, gps. n/m MODS PLEASE DELETE
Now if it only was a light sabor too....
Wait what did you do!? I have the same thing
I'm on infused 2.0.1 and whatever kernel it comes with. It vibrates once and then I lose my data connection...
This is usually caused by a problem with the system data from Phone.apk not interfacing with the new Phone.apk. Use Titanium Backup delete data from:
Phone.apk
PhoneUtil.apk
See if that works.
This has been happening to me as well, I thought it was because of my spotty service. Good thing only bill collectors call me, any who...has any one fixed it yet?

Would be helpful if you could share what ROM, modem etc. you're using.
Ideas? Google Voice. It's free and offers a much richer messaging experience over carrier-based voicemail systems. It transcribes viocemails and you can read and/or listen to them on the phone, from a PC etc.

What I've seen fix that in the past is leave yourself a voicemail... let it go to your phone... then delete it again.... also another note.... i always hit the * button to hang up.... not sure if that will work but it has for me in the past with other phones....
it most likely has nothing to do with your phone and everything to do without your service provider. the voicwmail server is incorrectly sending your phone the "new voicemail" signal. I had this same problem on my old blackjack 2 for the longest time. if it bothers you enough, try calling your service provider and get them to fix it.

Just call AT&T and ask them to reset the voicemail and missed calls notification.
This happens to me soo often...

This fix has worked for me numerous times in the past.

Sorry to jump in on the OP thread but I have the same problem. On cognition was setting up google voice but I guess I had a voicemail sneak thru the system during the setup. I have tried switching back to my carrier voicemail leaving a message but it does not delete it. I am surprised there is not a service that cannot be force stop to remove it versus calling provider.
Thanks

Okay, this is irritating.
It started when I flashed up to Valhalla 1.2. Now I'm on stock Ki1, with the Voodoo kernel and regardless of which I do, I cannot receive calls. I can place calls without issue.
When receiving calls, the phone rings/vibrates for maybe half a second and then the call drops, My signal strength goes to 0, and then shortly it returns to normal, showing that I missed a call.
Has anyone else experienced this?
And how do I fix it?
I have tried disabling voodoo, both 1.2 and 1.1 valhalla, and I've even tried the KD1 modem to see if that would help. Nothing seems to work and I'm not sure what else to try.
Did you do an advanced data restore from Froyo? That's your problem.
You'll needed to do a fresh reflash of the ROM and restore apps with Titanium instead.
Does your phone work properly now?
Yep. Thanks again

Ok so i have a friend on sprint that always sends pictures to me via text message. Only about half the time i am able to view them, and the other half of the time it says i must download the picture from the text. If i choose to download them i will click download, but the download will fail anyway and i will not be able to see those mms. I am using the stock messaging thing, and i kinda want to stick with it and not change it to a new app. Is there anything i can do to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Is it just this friend on Sprint?
Do you use Wifi?
It is mostly just my friend that uses sprint. And yes i use wifi, and have tried using it to download the mms. No luck

I've had lots of issues with getting mms while using wifi, even with stock rom, wifi calling active or not... that might be your issue.

Yeah, that's actually what I was going to say.
Wifi and trying to download MMS? No go. But if you're failing to download even on just regular data... Hm.
I believe that's something about the CM7 messaging app, right? Cause I hear wifi downloading works on the stock g2x one. I can't actually back that up because I don't want to lose the CM7 features, haha.
Edit: Like the MMS.apk download from Weapon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207125
Although, it says MMS sending, so I dunno.
If you've got the time and patience and this friend wants to send a lot of MMS... I would say just flash a few different roms (2.3.3 stock, 2.3.5+ CMs, or some MIUI) and just see if anything changes. I don't know what that will tell you, but.. it's for science!
Hey guys I'm having a few issues with my phone and if anyone has had these problems before and have any fixes.
I'm running Cyanogen 2013-02-01 with stock kernel
1. I seem to be having problems with sending mms messages when over wifi. Now with this though, I can perfectly send them over 4g etc. If I happen to turn turn wifi ON I have to go into recovery and wipe the cache and dalvik cache before I can send a mms again over 4g, otherwise it might take a day or three to send the message.
2. Having strange thumbnail previews of pics as you can see in the pic. But this is also going on on my desktop after uploading the photos from say dropbox or anything. This doesnt happen to every photo but it's irritating because it will cover the view of the photo I may want to view.
pic url too: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u7trfxtf2zus4ir/2013-06-16 18.30.42.png
If anyone has any ideas or solutions aside from flashing (personal reasons about backing up) I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks!
Figured I would update the OP;
Partially Solved - The thumbnail icons was partially solved by doing quite a bit more digging and found that I should delete the thumbs.db file in the DCIM folder. I did that and only a few images were fixed. Also the MMS seems to be fixed as I believe it had probably been a bad flash because I did get the time to do my OCD backups and reflash/restore what I needed to so a fresh flash seemed to do the trick for now. Thanks for the info guys!
You cannot send mms over wifi. Mms will always be sent using data. Even if you are on wifi, data needs to be toggled and you will see the 4g icon appear as the message sends even while you're connected to a wifi network

That helps a bit, but I have data still toggled on and still doesn't send. :/

That's weird. Cm7 was always nice to me with Mms as long data was toggled. Have you checked apn settings?

Cyanogenmod uses its own custom messaging app. To restore mms over wifi, you need to flash the stock one. It should be available in the CM7 topic, maybe hellfire phoenix.

I haven't had any types problems regarding data/call/cell etc. So I didn't think of that. I'll double check them.

I should of also mentioned I use the Handcent app for messaging and such and never had this problem before. I remember back in old threads something about mms and wifi being a problem at one point but didnt think that would apply to CM by now. I'll go back and do some searching see if there is a fix.
maybe try the go sms app. and try checking the option for it to handle all your sms stuff. its the option you check if youve uninstalled your stock sms app. because it might just be a bug in the stock sms app.
Alright, so I'll start from the beginning here. I started with CloudyStock ROM (basically the stock LG ROM with some added stuff). Then I went to Cyanogenmod and my data went away. Everything else worked but just my data didn't work at all. So I restored from my backup only to realize that now my texting is gone. I can receive texts and make and receive calls, I just can't send texts. SO..I tried a new ROM after that. I installed Mahdi only to get the same results. No texting. I do delete the data and everything I'm supposed to when installing ROMs also. So when that didn't work, today I used the LG Flash Tool to restore to factory firmware. I thought for sure this would fix the problem but nope. Still no texting. At this point I'm wondering if it's hardware failure but I'm still doubting somewhat because if I'm correct, it's the same chip in the phone that sends texts and receives. Anyway, please someone help me out! Thanks in advance!
I called AT&T and they fixed the problem. It was all their fault.

So I've sort of put up with some minor issues since AT&T fixed my problem. I still can't text from the hangouts app. Only the stock app will send texts. I tried installing a custom ROM again and there was absolutely no texting so I returned to stock again. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong?
