Just signed up for Spotify unlimited, and noticed that I can't download Spotify from the Android Market because it is not supported on the Thunderbolt. Any suggestions on getting this sucker to work?
Just had no trouble downloading and running it from the new market on Synergy ROM.

no problem installing it running BAMF 2.1, but no acct so can't login yet to test anything
I had signed up for an account with a UK proxy last year, turns out I can make that into a US account just by changing the location in my profile.
So just sign up with a UK account and then change the location to US...no proxy needed.
Weird, I went to m.spotify.com on my phone then used that market link and it lets me download. Guess it works fine now.
works well on Liquid ROM.
Mine works fine running stock unrooted

Just tried to set up a UK account, but the browser page immediately refreshes and says, "Hello America!!"
Guess I'm gonna have to find a proxy server somewhere.

I looked today on the Android Market for the Skype app and it is not there anymore. Somebody knows why they took it off?
How do we download Skype now? Is this part of the Skype-Google voice war?
I just searched for it on my evo cm6.1.2 and it's there
I searched as well, but I dont see it....however swype came pre loaded on my dell..
How can it be? I search for it from my Droid 2 global and it is not there anymore. I went to the skype website, ask for the link to be sent to my number and then the link they send takes you to a page that says that the file has been removed. I remember the app was on the market a few weeks ago. Now it is gone.

It seems that Skype is not available on some Android markets depending on what country you are based.
Anyway, the Fring and Nimbuzz took skype out of their services. Why?
And..., after installing skype I keep getting the can't sign in pop up.
I just now searched and it's still there in the market. but Fringout rates are much lower than Skypeout, I'm afraid they won't be able to fight it.
It's in my market still. It might be a carrier issue?

On certain countries it is not on the android market. You have to use Market enabler to get the non us version of skype that can use 3G.
Just got my nexus s and I just loved the device the only problem I am facing right now is that there are many apps that are not appearing in my android market like "Movies" "Skype" "pandora" etc. Even if I search these on appbrain and press market, the app does show on market and says "not available".
Is there a way to fix this as it is really annoying me.

This was a problem everyone faced for about the first two weeks of the phone being released. Google hadn't updated the Market server to recognize our phones. It shouldn't be happening to you.
The only thing I can think of is maybe you have to apply the OTA update (Settings/Check For Updates) to the phone to get the proper build.prop entries on the phone.
The other possibility is you're in a country that those apps aren't allowed for you? You don't have a location setting, but if you've seen these apps on other phones, that's not it.
It is possible to hack in a fix to the phone's build.prop file if you unlock the bootloader and root the phone, but again, this shouldn't be necessary at this point.
It's also possible to download the apps onto your old Android that sees them, then copy the apk file to your NS's sdcard and manually install the apps.
By the way, there's a lengthy thread about this already, complete with everyone saying it's fixed for them.
I am currently using my phone outside US. But I bought it from US.I was using it previously in UAE but couldnt find skype app there as well but my collegue there was using it on his desire. I have already updated it to 2.3.1... Can this location restriction be lifted off??? It is really bugging me as I can't install important apps like Skype, Books etc... please help.

I believe that google checks your access to apps first by the country of the sim card installed in your phone. If that's not available they then look up what country your IP address is registered to.
Have you got a US sim or UAE sim installed?
Could you pull the sim card, and then us a US based VPN server or something to trick Google into thinking you're in the US or UK?
Yeah I was using UAE sim... and yeah I tried that US sim trick but it didn't worked either. I installed Skype through an apk file and it's working fine. Is there a site where I can find latest version apk files of atleast free apps? ??

For some reason, I can not find certain apps in the Market like the Astro Key I purchased (mind you Astro app is installed), FiOS Mobile Remote, etc. Any suggestions?
Its because those apps are copy protected, and since the leaked RUU has a build unrecognized by google at this point, those protected apps are not going to show. So unless thats the offical OTA build, those apps will never show because google has to change the market to show copy protected apps for every official build of every phone. So if that software is final, they will eventually show up, if its not, they never will, unless you root your phone and change the build string

Wow interesting I have the leaked ruu and can still see these apps in the market. Op just send an email over to Google and they will help you out don't listen to this guy. For about 6 hours yesterday I couldn't download anything (got a download unsuccessful error) emailed the market team and got a response back helping me out.

I see all the purchased apps as well including the astro pro key and it shows installed..
It's the strangest thing really. Everything else I can download except for those two apps. I will contact Google for help. Thank you everyone.
P.S. I never had this issue when I installed a leaked RUU on my Incredible except from going to Froyo from Eclair.
Agreed. Astro Key is definitely there and I running the leaked RUU.
+1 - Astro Key and FIOS Mobile Remote with leaked radio...
I'll tell you I'm fed up with EA mobile... I purchased two of their apps when I was on T-mobile... And if I'm using any device that's not on Verizon (ie T-mobile, at&t, or Sprint) the apps will show. But on any device on the Verizon network (I've tried the dinc and the TB) it wants you to buy them again. Sadly enough this is a known issue with EA mobile and they actually charge more for the same app on Verizon vs other providers. I wish there was a way to fix the issue myself as their support team has been playing dumb regarding this...

Hi, can anyone upload one of the apks for the music beta. The market has blocked access to the download as I'm out of the US and dont want to have to log into google in a proxy! I got an invite earlier today, thanks!
The google music service is for USA only. So I doubt that it will stream to outside usa.

Actually, if Music is anything like Voice, it only checks location upon registration, not during use, so it should work fine. I'd appreciate an APK upload as well.
can someone who has had his invite please post the .exe for the desktop musc manager please? or tell me how i get invited outside of US?

Use a proxy website to access the invite page, it's then just a matter of waiting, mine took around a week!

Nope, did it on my laptop, I've only got a transformer and a UK Wildfire linked to the account, I registered on the night of the announcement though, they are probably giving them out in chunks.
Can anyone upload the .apk file of latest Google Music Beta? When I install through markets it is missing the Settings option. I have already tried re-installing after clearing data, restarted handset, etc. but no luck. I want to check if it will show up if I install .apk directly if anyone can upload it.

I had this issue on my phone, for a fix see post 269 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072655&highlight=google+music&page=27
The thread also has the APK. Or download the market access app to spoof you are in the US (needs root)
Will the settings option only show if I've been invited?
I've tried that method with no joy

i'm liveing in the States and i have this installed on both my phone and tab. i have found for some rather odd reason the settings option doesn't appear on 2.2 or any froyo based roms. i had to do some major testing on this to verify.

Hi,
I'm from the Netherlands and i own a Asus Transformer (running 3.2 custom rom by Revolver).
I recently got my self a Music Beta account by using a tutorial to get an account when living outside the USA. (proxy method)
I also waited around one week and got it. I have uploaded more than 8000 songs and got it working on the 3.2 rom.
I must say that the 3.2 Revolver rom got the right version of the Google Music player. The stock 3.1 rom did not.
But after a quick google search if found the latest version of the apk. Then it also worked on the stock 3.1 rom.
Ones you get all your music on the account and got the player synchronising with the account, man it's the best!!
I use Music beta on my desktop with my browser and on the tablet it is even better working. And it looks amazing.
So get your account and enjoy the streaming of your own music.
Greetings, Pigs
I have a rooted and unlocked S3. I am running CleanROM 2.1 & CleanKernel. I cannot seem to get NFL Mobile or My Verizon to work. I have followed the directions listed below but still not working...
I receive the error "Processing your request has timed out, please try again." I have verified my login information by logging on my computer at https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login I have tried using both my user name and my phone number and it still will not work.
Any ideas? My only thought is it could because I'm on a business account. I am one of the account administrators but that login is completely different from the "My Verizon". I have also tried the administrator account and that also doesn't work... Any Ideas?

My Verizon and NFL Mobile Login Solution
Problem:
Logging into My Verizon or NFL Mobile return a 300 or 305 error message.
Solution:
Make sure you are on CleanRom 2.1+
Install My Verizon/NFL Mobile from the Play Store.
Install Verizon Login app from the Play Store (without this login will not work)
Now you should be able to login. I have tested on 4g and WiFi.
Known Issue:
I was not able to log on using my primary account, which happens to be a different number than mine. Using my account tied to my phone number works correctly.
Did you also install the Verizon login app from the play store?

Yes, I did
I can tell you that NFL mobile works fine on version 2.5. I was never able to get it to work reliably on 2.1.
I've heard reports that you may have to change your login and/or password to make it work. That is unsubstantiated.
