[Q] Android-based device with HDMI and USB OTG. Which one to choose? :) - General Questions and Answers

Hi everybody.
Already search the whole Web but didn't find any solution that could fit to me.
I'm using a Nokia N8 and i'm tired of this Symbian OS and its poor capabilities.
But i love the HDMI output, the USB OTG feature and the 12 mpx camera with Xenon flash. It's just the poor variety of customization and apps that makes me want to switch to Android.
I'm here to ask you if you know any device Android-based that has at least HDMI and USB OTG feature.
I found the Motorola XT720 which has HDMI and Xenon flash but its processor (720 mhz) makes the phone feel a bit laggy when using applications that involve lots of resource.
I also has a look at the Galaxy S II which has USB OTG but it doesn't have HDMI.
So do you know any device that fits my likes (HDMI and USB OTG)? I'm searching for any device that has Android on it, that it's ported (like the N900) or not, it doesn't mind.
Better if it has also a good processor so i can put some heavy applications to use while waiting at the hospital or something.
Thanks in advance, guys!

I've also seen the Nokia N9 specifications.
ARM Cortex-A8 OMAP3630 of 1 GHz with a GPU PowerVR SGX530.
It has almost same features (not sure about HDMI but sure USB OTG) on N8 but thinner.
But what it really convice me on waiting the release date and buy this device is that it has MeeGo!
As far as i can remember, the N900 had Maemo, which is the father of MeeGo, and the N900 could have been ported even to Android 2.3.
So the devices i have in mind are:
-Motorola Milestone XT720
-Samsung Galaxy S II
-Nokia N9
What do you think?

The Galaxy S2 has MHL, which allows you to stream video from the microUSB port.
All you need is an MHL-HDMI adapter and you're sorted.

REAL HDMI app with Samsung Galaxy Tab?

Im not a programmer or anything but someone wrote an app called Real HDMI which unblocked the hdmi port on the Droid X. Could and hdmi driver be written into a rom and REAL HDMI be modified to work with the Galaxy Tab 2 to use the existing HDMI docks? Since both use TI chips it may be worth a shot?

[Q] Android mini pc

Hi, Can any one tell me
1. What is the difference between a "mini pc" an "android stick" ,a "tv box" ex' ?
2. What is the difference between Mk802III and Mk809II or it is the same gadget ?
3. What is the most powerful android mini pc that I can buy today (20 february 2013) ?
4. Is there a device like the above with four core cpu that has more speed, and can multitask better ?
I new to the forum so be patient with me please.
Thank you
the android stick usually has the form factor or a usb memory, just a bit larger and heavier.it has just one or two usb ports and an mini hdmi video output. minipc and tv box are usually more complex and include card reader, more usb ports and depend on design, more video out interfaces.
i never seen a android stick with a quad core cpu, usually they has cheap one core 1ghz cpu.
what is the best you can buy? well, hard to tell, usually i got some on ebay from china and very rarely i see the same object on sale more than once. pay attention when you buy one because they try to fake and say 1.5ghz cpu, while in the end it has a 1ghz cpu and 0.5ghz gpu

[DISCUSSION] Maru Custom ROM for our device

Is our device suited for the purpose of productivity? Is our device worth it for the Maru Custom ROM??? What do you guys think? Will it work well on our device?
If you haven't heard of it, check it out at:

It sounds AWESOME....
Well, I think Maru OS is rather pointless on the class of hardware the Tab 2 represents.
Why?
Let us take a look at it this way: The BeagleBone Black ARM board features similar specs to the Galaxy Tab 2 ... Ti Sitara AM335x Cortex-A8 Dual-Core at 1GHz, PowerVR SGX 530 GPU, 1GB RAM - not a exact match but very close to what makes the Tab 2 tick.
Boot the BeagleBone Black into a graphical Linux environment (i.e. Ubuntu ARM) and _TRY_ to do something productive in it. Chances are you're going to throw a temper tantrum after a few minutes because it runs like molasses. Apart from that, the Tab 2 doesn't have the required functionality to put it into a "Dock" and make it display something on a externally connected monitor (most of the ARM boards at least come with a HDMI connector and USB ports for connecting up a keyboard and mouse).
Don't get me wrong, Maru OS is a great idea - it's just no option for old under-powered devices also lacking the required interfaces to connect a external display to them. In terms of performance and productivity on a portable device you're way better off with a cheapo Chromebook (though I'm not sure if they feature a HDMI or DisplayPort connector).

I sold my Tab 2 to a friend of mine quite a while ago. However, it is running Kit Kat because that was the last custom ROM on which BlueTooth audio at least still worked ("Dock Audio" last worked on CM10.1), since he's using the Tablet as a DLNA endpoint connected to his stereo to stream music to it is rather important that headphone (line connection to his amp), WiFi and BlueTooth audio works as intended.
I'm actually using a Nexus 10 I picked up for cheap ever since I gave away the 3110.

MHL supported tablet

I'm evalueting to buy a tablet eather for work and chill
I'm in search of only one "special" feature the MHL support aka usb to hdmi support for use it with old projectors and monitors who doesn't support mirroring
It is possible that almost every phone has this implementation but not so much tablets?
I' m watching to something similar to the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 for specs, price and accesories (pen and a proper keyboard)
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks
