[EDIT] Never mind.................. I forgot to reboot SIGH.
I've rooted my G2X with SuperOneClick, and successfully have SuperUser on my phone. However, when a root-necessary app like Titanium Backup or AdFree tries to initialize, it always returns an error saying that "the application could not aquire root privileges." The app list in SuperUser is also empty!
I'm running on stock.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I followed all the steps to root my Nexus S
Super User is installed
I can I tell if my phone is Rooted correctly?
I can not get rom manager or Set CPU to work both say they can not get super user permissions
Last question
How do I boot into CW from my nexus S?
I flashed it threw comand prompt on the computer and was able to use CW to unzip superuser but after I reboot the phone I cant seem to access CW unless I reflash it.
Any ideas?
THanks
Yeah I have the same issue but with Titanium Backup. When I launch it I get the popup saying it was granted superuser permissions but when I actually try to use it it says ROO access --> FAILED

Try installing busybox from within titanium backup by hitting the problems button.
That did the trick! Thank you so much!
I just installed titanium backup to backup apps and settings.
So far, all it has done is ask me for root access. About 400 times. It's asking for root permissions for the same package, UID, everything, and it's rendered the app useless.
Anyone know whats going on?
Obvious question but do you have root access?
Also, click on the problems button at the bottom to install busybox.
I have root access and installing that doesn't help. Not what i expected from an app everyone says is brilliant. Are there any alternatives to TB?

Are you rooted with busy box? Have you clicked on the problems tab

Yeah, installed the version of busybox it came with. Still no good, it's making me have to reboot my phone every time i even open the app. I've reinstalled busybox, TB and superuser, still no good.
I want to reinstall a stock app called Audio Postcard on my Galaxy S 4G, because I want to be able to update when a system update comes out, and I don't want to wait until then to frantically figure this out.
This is what I have tried:
I downloaded the files named: audiopostcard.apk and audiopostcard.odex and pushed them to system/app. They didn't have the right permissions or user and group, so I fixed that in Root Explorer and abd. The two files now have the right permission and user group assignments (root.root). I rebooted, but the app still won't show up. I have heard that as long as the files have the right permissions and user and group assignment then you don't have to install it. However, since it didn't show up I tried installing it, but it fails with the "not installed" message.
I tried to install it using adb, but I got the following error message:
./adb install /Android/AudioPostcard.apk
2125 KB/s (11202488 bytes in 5.147s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/AudioPostcard.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT]
I tried installing it by zipping the two files (audiopostcard.apk and audiopostcard.odex) together, putting it in the root directory of the SD card, rebooting into recovery and installing it, but I get the message:
E: signature verification failed
My phone is rooted, but I don't have clockworkmod installed. Do I need to do this to get the files to install?
Can someone help me with this?
TIA
My first question is, are you running a stock rom? did you flash either KB5 or KC1 rom from the development forum? Or, did you uninstall it yourself via Titanium or something?
someone else just created a thread with this as the Title.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939451
Yes, I'm running the stock rom. I haven't flashed either of those roms from the development forum.
Yes, I did uninstall via Titanium, but it happened in a weird way. I was doing a search in Titanium and clicked on Audio Postcard to uninstall, when it got to the uninstall screen, I told it to cancel, but when I went back to Titanium, it was gone. Weird. Thanks for your reply.
**Update**
I finally got it to install using birgertime's Bloater app. I had to jump through a few hoops to get it to work, and I go into that in that thread, but it is now installed. Thanks to birgertime and others who read this.
there is an application called bloater. its used for rooted phones to install/uninstall apps that come with the phone. its on the market for a dollar but its no longer on applanet. if you want i can get the apk from my phone later and upload it
let me know
hit thanks if it helped
Okay, first off, I have searched. For the last 3 hours I have searched!!
I foolishly used Razorclaws one-button root method and it worked, However everything after that point has been an utter failure. I tried to flash recovery, and nothing. I tried using CWM, and nothing. I open Super User and it just closes. I don't know what else to do. Yes, I saw post 275 in the razorclaw thread, but when I put in the command list, it tells me it doesn't recognize the command. I previously had a Nook Color and had the easy adb installed. I don't know if this is my problem. I have a B70 transformer, I just want to unroot. I tried the Super User update fixer, nothing. The Transformer is running fine, I get force closes on some apps. I just want to return to stock. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I unrooted it. But the superuser apk remains in the app drawer. Is there any harm that can be done by having it? I would like to 'successfully' root and flash a rom, but judging from my inability to flash recovery using the one-button method I will wait. I would love to overclock this beast!
You can delete this thread, I apologize for wasting time and resources!
have you tried rebooting and then re-rooting?
how did you unroot ?

To get rid of Super user app and binary
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19505946&postcount=221
Also if you want to try again and get SU working you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19555429
Thanks for the replies
I did not reboot and reroot, I did have to download the SDK in order to use the adb functions. I used the info provided by doaist to remove su permissions, I suppose. When I checked through the razorclaw app, and terminal. I was not given su access. So, I assumed I didn't have su permission.
And as soon as I try to get into the adb shell and type 'su' it says 'permission denied' , I don't know what else to do to remove it.
Thanks for your input guys, it means a lot.
Okay, so I redownloaded said apps, and I am now performing a backup. Which rom should I use? Which rom will allow me to retain stock functionality , and which OC kernal should I use. Is there a rom that has both?
When flashing recovery, does it go to the emmc or the extrernal sd???

External micro sd card
I bought this phone yesterday, Rooted this morning before work, Voodoo backed it up, and updated to the newest update,
Now when I try to Restore root everything looks grand except Superuser says the su binary is not found.
The su binary is located in /system/bin I believe or xbin but none the less its there. some apps can access root while other cannot..
Any Ideas anyone can give me besides rooting once again, Not an option at work.
Thanks in advanced,
If not let me know and Ill Root again once I'm home, Just looking to play on the slow day.
It's been my experience that on this particular phone Voodoo OTA Root Keeper isn't effective. Simply save the SuperSU.zip on your external SD card and reflash via custom recovery after updating..
The only thing simple is the belief in simplicity.
Haven't Bootloader unlocked yet, used the moto2failgo, or how ever it was to root this morning, so this is what it will be once again once I get home, Thanks for the response, Makes my wonder, the only App that continues to function with root access (aside from Voodoo its self) is Titanium Backup, I am wondering if this is because it has its own busybox and i had not install busybox prior to the update, and cannot now due to lost root.
