[How-To] Boot into CWR mode - LG Optimus 3D

Press and Hold Vol-down + 3D button
Press the power button until you see the LG logo, then release it
Continue to hold down the Vol-dwn & 3D buttons until you boot into recovery!

It's hold volume key down and power button.
So hold volume key down and then power on button, Let go off the power button when you see the lg logo and keep holding the volume down key untill screen goes blank and bingo cwr hehehe...

Even easier way. Go into ROM Manager and press reboot into recovery mode....

Yeah but if you get a bootloop you can't access Rom manager and then you need to do the hold volume button thing to get to recovery

You'll have to do a emergency reset using the LG Mobile support tool (don't know how it's called in English, sorry)

Jup, rom manager sucks..

Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144738
and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190261

I read in the comments that this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2144738 doesn't support Froyo! And the second guide requires to reboot in recovery, but my phone when i try the key combination for recovery the screen check out striped blue! I try the LG Mobile Support tool, but doesn't recognize the phone, it stopped at 4%. In download mode the pc recognize the phone...

Does indeed, I had brought to life my good ole O3D, rooted it with KingoRoot, then ran CWR, clean install.
All was fine but wanting more, I tried to upgrade to ICS with Rom Manager and that bricked the phone.

HTC Screen only on startup. Volume control faulty

I've got a curly one. I lost super user app so I was doing a restore through EXT4 boot as I have no working volume rocker.
The program got stuck and screen went black.
Upon restart , I get to the HTC screen of death and nothing else.
I cannot hold down volume and power button as volume button is shot.
Is there a way to connect through USB and fire up a recovery screen ?
i've got somewhat of the same issue - due to some water damage, my vol - button does not seem to function anymore. i would like to keep flashing ROMs, but am afraid of getting into a bootloop and not being able to access hboot. is there any way to bypass the vol- power button combo for getting into hboot?
I've got a faulty vol+ button here. No clue why.
ADB reboot recovery

Installing ROM Manager from the market will also allow you to reboot your phone to recovery.

Yes but you have to be up and running to use it.
I use 4 ext boot which allows me to use recovery with out the need for a volume control. Just need power, menu and home . buttons.

Then??after that???
The rom pre installation dialog will come up and ask you for various options like wipe dalvik cache
And then just click OK
But I can't guarantee you that this will work!!
How did you broke your power button

I know of a method to remap your Power key to one of the volume keys, and one of the volume keys to the Search key. However, this remapping only sticks when the phone is booted into ICS. AFAIK the remapping won't help you once you're in the bootloader and trying to access recovery. It also requires root, which you said you don't have...
If you're still interested in this, PM me, and I'll edit this post with the aforementioned method.

mine just crapped out too! what rom/kernel were you using? I recently installed pixie's and glados. The weird thing is that I can turn on the phone using the power button, but once on the power button does nothing.

seems like my button just died completely. I was using stock for a while and the power button was acting up. Then I rooted and went with pixie, and this solved the power button issue. Then just yesterday it acted up again and today it was really erratic. and now it's pretty much dead. if you google "nexus s power button" you will see many people affected by this in the past few days.
i have the same problem, my power button is broken also cant bring it to the repair centre because i imported my phone. But as long as you already have clockwork recovery working properly, you can do pretty much anything: installing custom roms etc etc, in normal usage i use the app "fix broken power button" and that works flawleslly even on ICS.
and if you havent got clockwork recovery, i think there was a way to install it via adb fastboot, not sure how though....
Any idea how to root without power button??
Anyone willing to help me??
I can help
I too have a broken power button, and for me fastboot does not even work!
I have found a solution a made a script that all you need to do is launch with your PC! (credits to saurik for the exploit)
Hope this will help you
All you need to do, is run the script! Then, plug-in your phone (needs to be on with USD ADB DEBUG ON) and done!
You can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?qhefhtgs20fdtsd
This will root your phone, and then you can afterwards flash ClockworkMod from the market and then reboot into recovery =)
A work of advice though, make sure to install CyanogenMod7 which has an option to unlock with volume button!
Peace be with you

The phone is working normally and you can't install a rom or is it bricked?
If working, try to root again and use rom manager to apply the clockworkmod, them go to recovery mode and try again ..
If bricked, try to follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186460

Don't press the power button for too long. It takes around 9.5 secs for CWM to start, and pressing the power button for 10 seconds shuts down the phone. Stop pressing the power button the instant you see the LG logo.

1. To go into CWM you need to press vol Down not up + 3D + Power. When you see the LG logo let go off the power but keep vol down + 3D for few more secs.
2. Did you try and rename the backup? I did and it used to give me mismatch. Better to leave it alone.
It just sounds like his backup is stuffed up you could possibly ask for a stock boot image on forums to put n externel sd and restore

so how can i fix my phone used just my computer?
please i need help by the end of work today!!!!
Use the volume keys to navigate through the options then use the power button to select the option that you need.

try nvflash'in it again.. that will resolve you.
i've tried the power batten it really does nothing at all....
When you're scrolling down and hit the bottom of the menu and it goes back to the top if you do it a few times it says the buttons were disabled and you have do it again a few times to re-enable them. You wouldn't happen to be disabling the buttons and that why it doesn't work? You could also try using the touch version of CWM
Do you have rom manager installed rite?

Cyanogen boot loop without option to recovery

Hi, i managed to brick my phone when i installed cyanogen 7 on it.
i using for it a ClockWork ROM Manager premium and it installed the cyanogen 7 just fine.
i even make a backup for my default rom with it and all works just fine, no error codes, no nothing.
then it reboots to new android, and that damn boot loop start, well i remember how to fix it from my optimus 2x.
i go to recovery mode but everytime i trying to move down or up the lines, screen just go blank and what i remember there is a text line what says something about backspace?!?.
well i just think that this was a minor bug on the recovery and i rebooted the phone.
well, after that i cannot go back to recovery mode, it not recognize any of the keys, not power+vol up, power+vol down.
So i get just that bootloop and i cannot do anything with the phone, Windows 7 recognize the device and install the drivers but i cannot connect to it with any tools what i know.
i cannot use lg programs on it, nontheless any of the rom tools because they not connect to it, i cannot change any of the usb settings from the phone because the OS not start...
if somebody can help me with this, im be very happy
*UPDATE*
I found out that you cannot press power button same time with vol buttons, you just need to let go the power button while you still pressing vol buttons and voila!, you get the recovery console and you can do there what you needed to do
the power button also starting the device but shutdown it too after while if you keep pressing it .
