Sometimes when I miss a call, my phone recieves a text from myself with just the missed call number as the text. I cannot for the life of me find where this is coming from!
HELP!!!!!!!
Please!
Which rom are you running? On tapatalk so can't see if you have a sig... I don't get those so it might be a rom unique setting?

Hold on, this might also be caused by your google voice settings if that is what you are using for voicemails. Check that first

Same here. I'll get notifications fine all day, then I'll get three texts from one person without a single notification. It doesn't matter if the Messaging app is loaded or not or has focus or not.
It is on, its just with a few messages here and there

I have this same issue.
Its an issue that hopefully will get fixed with an update. It has happened to me a bunch of times.
ditto that, hopefully with the next software update will fix it. But, at the same time some people having issue with the update (1.85) that should rolling out today by ATT experience dropping calls and less reception. Personally i prefer late notification than drop calls. Dont you think?
Agreed

Known issue. I've added the messaging widget to my home screen to make sure I don't miss anything.

I had all notifications to vibrate in the SOUNDS menu but SMS still didn't vibrate. Didn't think to look under the menu under the SMS screens. Thank You!
Not sure what this issue could be. A lot of people say every so often that they call me back to back at times. I get no missed calls notifications. Same with text sometimes. Not sure if its ATT or what. Happens at home and when I'm out. Anyone else experience this?

1. Belongs in Q&A
2. Are you rooted?
3. If so, What ROM, kernel?
4. Did you do a clean flash or you didn't wipe?
5. Check if you have signal it could be just dead areas you're in.
6. If stock, it's probably due to bad signal.

Sorry thought I did post it there.
I'm rooted, Rohans B5 kernel, clean flash to King Kang. This has been happening for awhile before this ROM. I'm on WiFi and the signal bar is full

Fyi, I had the same problem and had to go get a new sim card and have them re-register my phone on the network.

You don't have to unroot or relock it I had a problem with LTE and was fixed getting a new SIM card. They saw that my phone was rooted. So don't do that.

I was having the same issue with calls and voicemails. I called AT&T and they did a reset on their end which did involve reboot on my end but it didn't have any other impact as far as data and root and they then tested the response on the phone and it had improved significantly. This was right around the time Sandy hit.

So called att and they reset my connection and put in a ticket.
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
i had this exact problem.
att first reset my sim card or something via phone support. nothing.
they then replaced my phone with a new one x. nothing.
reset my sim. nothing.
replaced my sim. nothing.
at that point i guess i was SOL. it wasnt happening all the time, but it was happening occasionally, so i just bared with it.
i dont know when i noticed it stop happening and fix itself, but it wasnt till after i achieved root and flashed a different rom that i noticed it gone completely.
i do live in an area that has poor reception for most carriers, yet down the street reception is perfectly fine.
i would miss calls, and not receive missed call notifications. i did not receive texts at times, and wouldnt notice till i was flooded by a few text messages all at once with time stamps corresponding to past few hours. sometimes me using an app on wifi/data would trigger all my text messages to come in at once.
now, i know it wasnt necessarily an issue of reception or service, because during some of those "blackout" periods that i happened to catch, i did have service and would be using my phone for miscellaneous things, then get flooded by texts and email notifications later
hope this helps in some way

So I've had the same problem with mine...it will show full service but I won't be able to send out texts or calls and I won't be able to receive any either. They replaced my sim but still had the same problems. Is the only way to fix this by flashing a different rom?

So i have a Nexus S on jellybean. And sometimes when my contacts call me, it will either not show their name at all, and just their number; or it will just show their number for the first few rings and then it will finally start showing their name; or it will show there name the whole time an work normally.
This does not just happen only with certain contacts, it happens with all of them. their name shows up perfectly fine in the call log after the call is finished or if i don't answer.
How can i fix this?
I see this a lot less running my min cpu at 400. I haven't noticed any big difference in battery by doing this, personally.

Are you stock unrooted? If you are, you don't. You backup your stuff and factory reset. If you're rooted you get a custom kernel from the dev section and use nstools.

I am sorry if I sound like a noob and idiot, but I just installed a CM10 (stable) on my Skyrocket, and it's been hit by a case of phantom voicemails. Is there a permanent solution for that, or should I just try a different ROM?
What?

Just call ur voicemail, it'll say no new messages and send an encoded.text.message to your phone saying so, getting rid of the notification. If that doesn't work reflash

You never seen one? It's a voicemail notification that can not be removed because there isn't a voicemail.

Thanks, unfortunately neither works - I'll probably need to move off CM.
Saw that a couple times on embryo 6. Annoying yes but a clear cache of the phone app immediately removes the notification. It only happened a few times on the same flash. Eventually stopped.

Everytime I end a call my phone makes a notification sound. Any idea what this is for and how do disable it?
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Go into call settings and there is a prompt that allows you to turn it off on

I turned off the end call notification and still get it.

So I've figured out when the noise happens, but can't figure out how to turn it off. It happens everytime I connect too lte.
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Is it a sound or vibrate? I see an option for vibrating
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
It's a sound and its quite annoying.
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
117 views and no one else has experienced this. I've come to the conclusion that it has something to do with lte, but can't figure out how to disable. I can't be the only one.
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Not sure, I've had two S5's now and neither did this.
It's possible some random setting that carried over for most of us etc.
I know the first S5 when it restored my old phone settings the screen timeout was set for 45 seconds for example, well that's not a valid option so it made the menu look funky lol. The second one it didn't do that as I had changed to 30 seconds before exchanging again.
I imagine something similar, some setting carried over to disable the sound and we just dunno which/where.
I did a lot of traveling yesterday and bounced on and off 3G and 4G and no data many times, no sounds.
Maybe it's the roaming guards too glitching? I do disable those too.
Thought I disabled the roaming guard but will check again. It wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't so damn loud.
Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
I feel like an idiot. It was signal check pro. It never did it on my g2 or my tablet, but for some reason it was on by default on my s5.
