Hello I want t buy a tab,but which tablets are the best for 200€?
And it must have gingerbread or honeycomb!
I do not think it exists
Try to make it yourself or wait for 2 years
Maybe an Archos tablet for a little more than 200.
You get it with Froyo and maybe they'll update to Gingerbread soon.
That's the best you can have for that budget I think.
What do you think about Hannspree Hannspad?
For 200e you can buy a very good china tablet, you can find it in ebay. Try to search about motorola XOOM but for 200e not new device.
The Hanspree looks good and I looked for a Zoom.
The Zoom is really expensive but i love it and i have no problem with a china tab,but it must be fast.

- And No because there are many of these china tablets out there and they are all different and there arent many of them that are as popular as the brand tablets.
hi folks, i'm hoping someone can help.
i'm very interested in getting the Hannspree Hannspad but i wanted a few honest views off users.
i'm not worried about Froyo, tbh there isn't a real difference to ginger, but the twin core build intrerests me more thatn the single core tables that are comming out.
have hannspree removed the phone apk's (etc) to improve power and memory management?
i don't play many games so i'm not worries about split second responsiveness but i've heard it can sometimes lag a bit, honestly how does the stock rom perform?
i wondered if anyone had tried go launcher or launcher plus and how the responsiveness compared to stock? screen responsiveness, typing etc?
also i'd be using this for video on the go, i don't watch HD but normal avi/divx, do they play ok?
i'd be very grateful if anyone would be willing to record a short video if the tablet in use so i could get an idea, the marketing vids are always a bit false
i'm been out of cooking for others about a year due to family matters (but still been home building for my HD2) while there are some mods over on slatedroid, theres nothing on XDA. if i get the tab i'll probably start playing with the rom and post a few slimmed down recovery versions. to see what we can start
regards and thanks in advance
Chris
Ok,but where is your limit for money?
And how big it must be?
If you don't mind going a bit experimental you could get a HP touchpad for sub 200 euros on ebay or xda market place and wait for android to be ported.
But that is with an Archos G9 101 for 285€?
It looks like it came from China so I guess that installing custom rom is impossible. However, nice specs and nice price for that!
For the Archos?
!!No it s coming from France!!

Hi,
im searchin for a new mobile... i wanted to buy it in the next 2 or 3 weeks, but there is a big problem:
i dunno what mobile would be the best for me :S
I am thinking about Windows mobile and Android ... The windows mobile phones i have used till now are quite nice, but no one really made me fully happy ... i always tried to port other interfaces and so on my lg ks20 and htc diamond.
i´ve seen that android has a quite nice interface with very good touch friendly options...
my windows mobile candidate would be of course the HTC Leo , what the android canditate would be is just open till now ...
I often browse in Wifi networks , like facebook, gmail, icq, etc. and therefor i am searching for an mobile with good browsing quality ... what camera there is ... i dont care about that crap ... just being comfortable in networks , chatting , sharing files and so on...
Hope you can help me ..
else any questions ? just post, i will directly answer.
See ya

//EDIT: I saw now some androids and i think nexus one and desire are very good but , what is the difference between them ?
Hi,
In term of memory management Windows mobile is far way better and for the interface also you have a lot of ui for windows mobile that are now very close to the Android style that you are searching for(if not even better).
I first bought an HTC Hero and was very happy the first two months but then it became so boring because of that lack of programs for it.
Now I am on a Leo and I can assure you that the moment you will put this device in your hand, you will be impressed by his speed.
Hurry up before the HD3
what about the htc desire ?

Here it is in a nutshell,
Android is the new kid on the block, rough around the edges, not fully functional yet, short on apps, in dire need of updates, but with the genuine potential to be an actual iPhone killer ( hence Apple vs HTC suit solely filed to slow down Android ). Android is on it's way, but not going to be great until, after whatever Android phone you buy now, is old and tired.
Windows Mobile is tried and true, tons of free apps, full bluetooth functionality, full Exchange and Office functionality, easy to sync, fully customizable to your needs, but it is what it is and will not get any better. Whatever you buy now, will not be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7 Series, and WP7S would appear to be that " make it or break it " for
Windows Mobile.
In short ? Android = up and coming, but not quite there yet. Windows Mobile = Already mature, but could be on the down slide soon.
If you are living for today, Windows Mobile hands down. Come this fall ? Phones with Android 3.0 ? Windows Phone 7 Series ? Who knows.
The Nexus One is Googles Android device made by HTC, The Desire " was " the Droid Eris, but has since been reassigned to the HTC branded Nexus One.
@die_Leuchte: Danke für die videos, ich hab mich entschieden / Thanks for the Videos , now ive decided what to take
@denco7: i know it is a nutshell, but if i see what android showed on mwc for example, it seems that it has millions of apps and is just now the iphone killer ^^

Add to that limited Bluetooth capabilities and ( important to me ) limited M$ Exchange and Office capabilities it just isn't mature enough yet to be a serious multitasking phone for business.
Don't get me wrong, I think Android is the future of Mobile OS' . WP7s is going to have to do a lot to convince me otherwise. And I am leaning towards an Android phone after Android 3.0 and WP7s come out, just from what I have seen of Android 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 on the Nexus, I just still don't think that it is capable yet.
so you think that if you would buy a smartphone now, you would choose winmo...
if you could buy it in 2 years , you would choose maybe android ... right?
Do not be fooled by a shiny interface just like I was.Besides what you are seeing on an Android phone is the Sense UI made by HTC.
If I am not wrong the Nexus one doesn't have the Sense UI.
I am not telling that Android(in reality Linux) is not a good phone. On the contrary you will find it with very useful applications but in some cases just like what happened to me you will not have a wide range of choice for the same application.
For Ex:If you want a Virtual Keyboard, because Android is still new you will have only 2 or 3 keyboards(maybe there is more now) to choose from but on Windows Mobile you have more than 15 competitors to choose from with years of experience in that field .
So,
Android is for you if you can be satisfied with what you have.
Windows is for you if you are thirsty of applications
Hope this helped
thirsty guy
well, i always need to get more apps to have another quit unuseful thing on my mobile, like wifi router or so
then i take the leo ^^
EDIT: @forcefield: i recieved an email , that swype for android is out your problem is solved now
Here is a quote from another german forum
there is no "better" one, some like winmo and some android more ...
before i buyed my new phone i thinked about the hd2 and the milestone... i choosed the milestone and i dont regret nothing !
looking at the amount of apps i would choose android because its just much easier and uncomplicated .. with more apps than windows mobile.
i dont know whats the difference between the desire and the nexus one , but you can wait until they get on the german market to see more information..
pointing on the battery strength maybe its disapointing but i have to be honest, its normally just between 1 and 3 days depending on how you use your phone.

I'm suprised that no one has brought this up, but, if you got a Windows phone, don't you always have the option of running Android on it? I don't think it works the other way around. Please, PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong.

Android proted to WM is still a port. It runs within WM and some of the features of Android don't work and some of the features of the phone won't work with the Android port. It will never be as fast or as smooth as Android running natively.

I would take the Leo, faster processor, bigger more beautiful display, more ram. The only plus for the Rhodium is the slide out keyboard.
But just remember that neither phone is going to be upgradable to Windows Phone 7 Series.
of course take the LEO!!!
I own Touch Diamond 2 (which is basically like TP2 without the slide out keyboard) and it's really great and everything. But then I also have access to Samsung Omnia II with 800 Mhz CPU and it's running so much faster and more smoothy. And the big display is insane!! Then go figure because HD2 even comes with 1 GHz!!!! IMO it would be stupid to buy the OLD TP2 with only 528 Mhz.....

No, there's no fully working Android version for any WM phone. They all have bugs and stuff not working.
I have created a concept for the first Windows Phone 7 devices codenamed Mondrian by HTC. It is largely inspired by the design of the HTC Touch Diamond, which is generally regarded as the most beautiful phone HTC ever made.
Following the current HTC lineup, there will be three versions, of which I have completed the Diamond3 and Touch Pro3. The Touch HD3 concept will come later.

Well, this is neither a theme nor can you use it to transform your device, but just a design concept .
No ok but you or someone should use this for a theme...
Drool. HTC need to give you a call. I'd buy this in a heart beat if it were real (and had a good qwerty)
Yeah, I guess I'll make a version with hardware keyboard next. That would be a bit more challenging, though .

This is just a concept, but Microsoft said the first WP7 devices will come out with the holiday season, which isn't really specific, though. I think I read somewhere that HTC will bring their first devices at the end of the year.
Now that with the keyboard would be a bad-ass phone.
Great work Livven!!!
Wish TP3 will go on that line
Thanks for your feedback .
BTW does anybody have some ideas for an HD3 concept? How should it look like - maybe a metal border, a brushed aluminium look, maybe even white body? I need some creativity...
i had td2 it WAS a beautifull phone, i miss it now lol
looks nice, I'd go with a TP2 style key arrangement and spacing, but with all of the buttons shown here
I think the HD3 concept should have the front of an HTC HD Mini, the back of a more square-angeled HTC Legend, and stereo speakers, all in addition to your other concept specs. It would be awesome!

I have had my Apad for 2 days and its working pretty well. At slatedroid there are some custom roms but nothing spectacular. Hiapad is supposed to be releasing a 2.x update between now and july. Seeing is believing.
Update
Just found out the internal mic doesn't work. I don't know if it ever did. No the camera is showing green static lines around the bottom and right edge.
Using my Apad/Iped for pandora, working very well.

I know its been awhile but... I did get the apad and I was VERY disappointed. The touch screen sucked. Would hardly pick up a wifi signal along with other issues. Being some of the first android tablets that were sold I was ready for little issues but not like this. I sold it within a week and bought an ipad. Boy what a difference. IMO the android tablets have a long way to come before they come anywhere close to an ipad. I don't care for the Mac os but I will deal with it due to the way this thing operates. This ipad is fast. I have 4 computers in my house with 3 running off of my wireless N router and the ipad is by far the fastest surfing the web. I really like it and I can't wait till there is an android based tablet for sale that will compair. When there is I will buy it. Until then I am pretty happy with the ipad. Just food for thought.

Need help on my Android Apad !!
Dear all i bought an Apad and facing some problems, I don't know what batch all I know is that it has front camera, version 1.6, AC 9 volt, no USB2 but Ethernet/USB adaptor, Memory 256, Kernel version 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty, and Build# 1.9
I'm very confused and I need to ROOT this Apad in order to Arabiz it (make it Arabic enabled) and my Apad is not reading my WIFI hotspot mobile which I discovered that Apad factory firmware is not supporting Ad-hoc so not reading my mobile phone that I use out of home in order to connect PC to internet.
I've tried to connect it to PC as I saw some videos at Youtube but no response as my Apad doesn't have USB2 only Ethernet/USB adaptor and only press on POWER button not ON/OFF switch like the model in videos. Please help me out in easy steps as I feel illiterate in technology when I read any forum comments about Apad , guys would you be patient and help me. Thanking you in advance.
The Yinlips YDP-G18 is probably the cheapest Android device you can find with dedicated game controls. It would be cool if someone could cook up an updated English language ROM for it.

Hello,
This is a very promising console, we are currently testing and we must admit that this console is doing pretty well ... It's just a few thoughtful developers to take advantage of the machine maximum.
Go on google and write "CAANOO forumactif" to see the test!
The root is effective and the market is available.
Sorry for my poor english, i'm french
They already rooted it and installed android market on it. IMHO, it should get its own section. Having stripped down froyo or gb roms on it could further improve performance and battery life.
If I had the coin, I'd buy it right away. It's priced at $125 with free shipping. And it's the projection of my most beautiful dreams. Except for the two cameras it has.
It's actually a good product that can have enormous potential. Its biggest flaw is its current autonomy should be 3 hours with Wi-Fi enabled.
The screen is resistive, but responds well. It allows running N64 and PSX games fairly easily and without overclock.
I would love to also see a section for Android handheld and quickly see the arrival of Roms Customs and modified kernels.
For those who want to take the tests, the French member of the community are being Caanoo get them to see what she has in the stomach. I'm happy to keep you informed of the various tests that we will achieve.
I'm also getting one of these, looks promising with some tweaks or a new custom rom will be much better
Only 3 hr battery life? You'd think they'd be able to get more in there. But cool concept nonetheless.
Those who want to see the handheld running you can go see the videos that were made by @ BAFelton at: Sorry but i can't link URL, so Go on Youtube and search BAFelton61
It gives a good idea of what is possible.
Also, @ qbertaddict also examines the machine

From what I can see in the videos, it's Chinese by default but can be changed to English. Since it's an Android device, in theory you would eventually be able to cook custom roms for this thing.
This is a steal, even though the touchscreen is resistive the specs are very good.
My interests are in the details, though: Does the analog stick work as a mouse in android? How is the screen quality with brightness and color? How easily can ROMs be customized?
If these things met with satisfaction I would buy today.

Hey guys
I'm from outside the US and looking for a nice tablet for under $200 (yay 3rd-world-country currency restrictions ). Now, I've had an old HTC Magic, then a Motorola Defy and now a ZTE V970M. They're all great phones, with lots of development and nice features, and I'm looking for a tablet that I can get from Amazon with the same or similar features.
Basically, I'm looking for this:
A tablet that is small (7" is enough, I wouldn't mind 10" though) with a capacitive screen (or responsive enough, anyways) with some development other than the stock ROM and Android 4.0+, since I love to make ROMs for android devices. Also, I'm planning to use it to connect it to HDMI TVs, so an HDMI output would be a big bonus. I would also try to use it as a laptop so allowing connectivity to any of those case-with-keyboard things (through bluetooth or USB) is a need. I don't care much for battery life, as long as it can be rooted I can work my way around to make it save battery like hell
Here are the options I've looked at:
Around 180$ & 168$ respectively: Galaxy Tab 2 ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-1 ) and Galaxy Tab Plus ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...f=sr_1_19?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-19 ) but they don't have HDMI output, not even with an external converter, I was wondering if that's true?
119$: The Coby MID7065-8 ( http://www.amazon.com/Coby-7-Inch-A...ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-4 ) looks good but... it's Coby :/ and also, it doesn't seem to have a CyanogenMod-compatible CPU, and I don't wanna be locked to ICS forever.
165$: The Acer Iconia looks *awesome* ( http://www.amazon.com/Acer-A500-10S...f=sr_1_22?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472318&sr=1-22 ) but it's Android 3.0, is it a good buy if I can upgrade it to CM 10 or a stock 4.0-4.1-4.2 ?
174$: This Galaxy Tab SCH-i800 looks weird, is it any good? ( http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...f=sr_1_50?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472705&sr=1-50 )
104$!!!: This SANEI looks awesome too ( http://www.amazon.com/Android-Scree...f=sr_1_71?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1368472813&sr=1-71 ) but I wonder if I can upgrade it to more than ICS/JB ? it has a Cortex A9 and I've heard there's some compatible CM around for Cortex chips, so would it be a good buy?
$199: The Kindle Fire HD seems like a good $199 option ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1555100222&pf_rd_i=507846 ) BUUUUUT... it's a reader, and I've had experiences with the B&N Nook Simple Touch that I don't wanna repeat, such as having a very locked firmware and not having all of the working features if I upgrade to CM or something similar :/
Any tips guys? I really need the advice, as I need to make a choice by tomorrow maximum
Thanks in advance!
