Post this question into the existing thread for this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154649&page=2

Wish someone can fix this big issue, then the MIUI ROM will be ready to use. P.S, I flash the MDJ unity V2 kernel, not use the original.

I prefer this one.

Happily using 0826, no issues. Its pretty hard to have a decisive recommendation as users are running so many different apps and configurations..
last boot179-4 1650-i forgot date...august ???
This seems to the correct thread to ask this question. I have tried few nighties randomly dome are very stable and some are not. But none of them have given exceptional battery life. Has anyone come across a stable nightly with great battery life.

have you Undervolted? That can give you the battery life you are looking for.

Hi,
I can recommend this version:
cm7-110716-0105-BOOT179-Jordan.zip
This version runs perfekt with very long battery life and works perfekt for me (cam, gps, wlan, battery...). But it is only version 2.3.4. I use this rom since a few weeks and I have no problems.

Ok, even am hunting for that, and i found 110814 wrking very good for me.
Its 2days,5hr, still 55% left
In my case, my sim was 6yrs old, so replaced it with new1 and that has given me better battery.
my configuration: check this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105506&page=9
And thanks to cm7defy devs for making such a wounderful rom.
...110822 boot179-4 nightly, very stable, works like a charm!
From main CM7 thread:

Besides that, I've tested the 110822-1650 nightly for a week now and I get 4d6h37m (4% left) on battery, love it!

I really doesn't understand this "myth" of the "best nightly"...
As far as I can tell the development is pretty much straight forward, and the best version is always the last - with bugfixies and new features who will get their bugfixies in a later version.
the best version is not necessarily the last one, we all have seen pretty screwed up nightlies. but now im using 110822 boot179, and i havent noticed any bugs yet, and it runs smooth, no lags, very good battery life.

Software dev is not that straight forward. With an OS it is actually hugely complex and anything changed might have unexpected consequences. The idea of posting here is to ID those ones that get a consistent good report.
I am currently on 110826-2119- NIGHTLY-Jordan.
Can I flash 0822 boot179-4 nightly directly on top of this and clear Dalvik and cache or is there any other procedure.....

jep, can confirm the high battery consumption on this nightly...
but would say that it's not the best rom at all
Well... I wait everyday for the latest nightly... And I can say I'm happy everyday. Haven't seen a sensive decrease in battery life ou system stability in any of the nightlys, only improvements
I update my defy with latest nightly version every ten days; I can't find any obvious issue yet.

not me when 179-4 is uploaded wifi is better, the last have a fix for SD Card .
But it's my Nightly i prefer because i can use Total Recall
i have to correct myself: 110822 boot179 nightly has battery drain issues, i only could last about 14 hours w/ normal use in the last 2 days... but i hear the 110830 is very good. can somebody pls confirm that?

[Q] difference between MIUI.US and MIUIAndroid

Hi,
I would like to know the differences between MIUI.us and MIUIAndroid for HTC DesireS. On US version, in standby mode the battery consumption is about 10-12mA, but on localized Czech MIUI (MIUIAndroid) i get about 20mA. Are there some kernel or undervolting changes compared to MIUIAndroid, which would explain this differences?
Or is it just different current measurement.... I was testing it on 1.11.25 and 1.12.2 with battery monitor widget. Then i would just reflash the same version with dalvik/cache wipe, same programs were running on background + wifi,BT,sync OFF.
Thanks a lot,
Peter

20mA is very, very high!!
I'm currently using the MIUI.us 1.12.2 release, without any modifications to the kernel, and using Battery Monitor Widget pro, i see that my standby battery drain is 5mA to 7mA per minute, with wifi or mobile data connected (Sync governed periodically by Tasker automation).
You are probably closer to the BTS then me, but 7mA is close to 10ma. If you would change to MIUIAndroid, i bet your battery drain goes to 15-20mA. Therefore i was wondering what makes the difference between two MIUI ROMS of the same version...

I'm on all the ROMs almost everyday! See my sig!
I can restore nand im my sleep now, going from one ROM to the other Endy, MIUI, ICS beta, CM, Galnet releases, etc etc... sometimes all of them in a day... hence the sporadic nature of my support and answers to queries all over the forum!
My phone suffers from this Split personality disorder so much so, that sometimes i lose track of what ROM i'm on, and when i got onto it!
My current thoughts about MIUI 1.12.2 --- Best release yet. I have NEVER seen this low a battery drain on ANY ROM! Period. And you, of all people, know that i've used all of them!

Nice!!
Maybe your might develop a case like Jekyll and Hyde
Wow, I still haven't tried ics beata yet!! I only tried the alpha..
I'm tempted to give the latest miui a go again now! My main issues with the early version was battery drained too fast, but now I think I may give it a go!
Is battery better than Endymion?

[Q]Best Rom for Speed/Stability/Battery?

I'm looking for what is the best ROM for the Nexus s in terms of Speed, stability, and battery life. I want to install an ics RoM for my GF, after leaving her on CM7 lol. It was good, but i want her to be a little more up with the times, but of course i can't be flashing a different RoM 2 or more times a day, and trouble shooting and testing if things go wrong. I need something that i could flash and know that for a little while i don't have to worry. Any ideas???? (Also would like to know RoM has full GPU accelaration on)

I vote for CM9 v1.1 with deep idle enabled. When the screen is off there's almost no battery drain. After a 7-hour sleep my battery drained from 95 to 88%. Furthermore I tried other ROMs: Kangy, AndroidMe, Nexusbeam, Peter Alfonso's etc. But CM9 has been the only one not giving me any problems, it simply works!
I have tried many ICS roms but only one stands out : Codename Android(used to be AOSP+)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1463437
they recently changed its name and thread so not too many views yet(used to have 250k+ views)
I have been using it for more than a 45 days. NO Lag, very fast boot, very very very smooth(your jaw will drop) and gets updated every 3-4 days.
it has excellent battery life, 3G+Wifi+heavy use and calls, I get around a 30 hours+
It has simple yet nice modifications like notification menu, a simple yet beautiful battery % and nice power menu, + many many many more things.
Make sure you flash Eugene's kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1401455
Give me your thoughts when you try it
KANGY8 or AndroidME or Android Beam.. cant go wrong with any of them..
give them a try and choose which u like best..
Thanks Everyone for all the feedback, i really appreciate it. I'm gonna give a couple a try!!!

Hi,
Sometimes it takes a couple of cycles (charge/discharge) for a battery to settle.
Alternatively,try a different kernel.
I know they are still working on the Rom .perhaps the battery life will get better as the Rom is upgraded? I'm not sure the recommended kernel for that particular Rom , this could be you need to try a different kernel? Once you have enough posts here ask on developers page the recommended kernel for battery life., this should help a bit. Also you can try juice defender it might help a bit too .as mentioned above it takes some time for a new Rom to "settle" in sometimes .this could also be the issue. Also some roms are better than others at battery conservation. Check your settings make sure nothing is draining battery and set them accordingly. Hope this helps. Best wishes

Short Review of [UNOFFICIAL]CarbonRom for Sensation (25.10. release)

Hello I am fairly new here, and as I dont have the right to post replies in Android Development section I will share my thoughts here.
I am not a pro with Android allthough I managed to add custom ROMs, root and so on on all my previous phones. So a bit advanced android user.
I wanted JB for my HTC Sensation and after reading a few threads here I decided to go with CarbonRom. Today I have to switch away.
PROS:
+ Jelly Bean
+ Nice tuning of CM and JB by Carbon Team - many small customizations that I enjoyed
CONS:
- Random signal drops
- App crashes
- Terrible batterry life (8 hours on standby with EDGE on, on 3G it would be even less)
- App restarts
- Maps glitch (but if I undesrtand it correctly, it is common on Jelly Bean?)
Might be that these problems are specific, and/or have a solution by tweaking, but I wanted a ROM that works with minimum effort. I think of CarbonRom as a great promise in the future, when it is tuned, but for now, it is not for my everyday use. Anyway I thank the author for the development and port and I will probably try it again, when it is a bit more tuned.
Except the Maps glitches (which are related to something on the kernel or something) I don't have any of these issues. Did you clean install the rom? Maybe try the sultan kernel with the rom.

Yes, I made a complete wipe. How long does your battery last when using mobile data? I do not remember having these issues with ICS 4.0.4 - which is why I am looking at Kangs port of CM. There are many random bugs as disappearing keyboard, random app restarts... I dont know if these are ROM related as this is first ROM i tried on Sensation - but I dont recall these bugs on headsets with custom roms before. I will look into changing the Kernel as I am not a big fan of installing and reinstalling again and again. Also I think there is some CarbonRom update.
I have always mobile data and wifi active, also gps. I usually take it from charging at 6 or 7 am and put it to charge at about 11 pm, with about 20% left, depends on how much I used it over the day, sometimes it has only 10%. Once it lasted for over 26 hours, but i didn't use it all the day.
I never experienced app restarts, only on rare occasions I experienced that the keyboard closes itself, but it didn't bothered me much.
In my opinion it's the most stable and smoothest 4.3 rom beside android1-7's cm 10.2 (never tested albinoman's, maybe his is good too, feel free to test them). All I changed is the kernel, because sultan kernel really increases the performance.
As far as I know rathore has an update ready but couldnt it upload to goo.im yet.
Thanks for your reply, I will try the kernel update first and than Albinomans CM if it does not help. Because the little tweakes are really nice in this ROM.
I can't say that I totally agree with you in your review.
No random signal drops for me.
App crashes at the same rate as with other ROM's for me.
I have exelent batterry life.
App restarts at the same rate as with other ROM's for me.

I thought that too, but i got proved wrong.
I got similar thoughts according battery performance on custom roms. But nobody remarked that stock rom on nonXE version has lower CPU frequency, so that's why juice lasts longer. So we nonXE users should buy XE battery first.

I have an XE, nonetheless battery performance got worse, so its not the cpu.
Now my earpiece is going crazy. I am doing a NAND backup, and will switch to official ICS to see if these problems are rom related.
Reverted back to stock ROM
I am now on the last ICS stock ROM (rooted). It is just one day but so far:
Ear speaker piece was broken, now it works again (it made somtehing like robot modulated voice)
No call drops
No app crashes
Better battery life
I will update in the next few days, as I dont plan to stay on the stock rom - Jelly Bean is way better. Carbon Rom is very nice but bugged as hell and drains battery - at least from my experience.
Sum-up
All problems descibed here vanished with the install of rooted original ICS. I will try another ROM now, asi ICS with Sense is so damn ugly . Anyway I dont recommend Carbon ROM (the older versions) for everyday use.
