Anyone upgrading to mytouch 4G slide ? - HTC Sensation

It looks promising with awesome camera and dualcore

it seems too small for me, and motoblur gets more and more disappointing each release :/
the camera seems nice, but 1 feature isnt enough to turn me...if anything, im waiting for the hercules
also, while there was a time when i exclusively used hardware keyboards, they just seem unecessary these days, and i prefer a thinner profile on 4.3"4.5" screen

nope, cant go back to a smaller screen and lower res after having a 4.3 inch Qhd, hell my g2x 4" screen seems small to me now(and I thought 4.3 would be too big for me at first) also as much as I love a physical keyboard they reported it's pretty heavy and thick. So just because the camera software is better (which I'm sure we will get a port when we can) and it has a keyboard doesnt mean it's an upgrade as you put it. I would say it's more of a downgrade than an upgrade IMO hehe It's got the same amount of ram and same speed processor as the sensation as well.

i agree 100%, the app WILL be ported days after the phone is released (thanks moto for unlocked bootloader ;P) and this is the real benefit to this phone, the camera hardware is practically the same as S4G/SGSII

Umm isn't it an HTC phone? It's running Sense 3.0
Anyway, I'd really like the camera they put in there, but on the Sensation.

Umm....since when is the mt4g slide made by Motorola with blur....? It's an HTC device running Gingerbread with Sense 3.0. Also, it has a better camera lense for a wider viewing angle.

motorblur? sense 3.0? wth? I was under the impression the mt4gs was shipping with iOS5!!

considering almost all of the new features in iOS5 are stolen from android, that actually wouldnt surprise me
EDIT: off-topic my bad...continue

As someone who upgraded to the Sensation from the MT4G, I'll pass on this one. With a smaller, lower resolution screen, as well as appearance that's almost identical to the MT4G, this is certainly not an upgrade. Taking into consideration what's already been stated about the camera software, the Sensation is a better phone. Moreover, why downgrade from Sense 3.0 (which I happen to love) to mySense?

No way.I love my sensation.

You can't upgrade from a Sensation to a myTouch 4G Slide.....thats a downgrade.....well in my opinion anyways!

I have been using Samsung Omnia i900 for last one year guys. Now i intend to get a new phone but there seem to be alot of options out there and it made me confuse. Everyone has an edge over the other in some regard.
I almost went to get an HD2 , My reason being that it can run BOTH OS, WinMo 6.5 and Thanks to dev at xda it can also run Android almost as well. And i am a freak in tryin all the new stuff related to diff OS, so that gives me an edge for HD2, however its touch screen although capacitative wasnt as impressive as iphone 3gs.
And i m not sure how good android is, would the phone still be upgraded.
Please vote for what you think is going to be overall a better choice to go for now with regards to,
OS
Apps
Hardware
Future Development

Please do also give ur reasons why u suggest a particular phone
Really need help deciding coz i m confused
I would go with the iPhone 4 simply because front facing camera, hd recording, super amoled screen, great gaming device, sleek new design, and the best new "feature" added.. THE DEATH GRIP!

i agree with ipanda, the hd2 is good but its excessively large screen mixed with the type of lcd it has means the colours are all washed out, the galaxy s has good multi touch and games but the gps is crap, the iphone cant get a signal and the nexus one is just a desire without the optical trackpad and less ram lol
umm Nexus One is also abit cheaper i guess.... Optical trackpad doesnt really matter i guess... but currently its official software doesnt support Multi-TOuch which Sux.
Galaxy doesnt have a Camera FLASH... HOW the hell can Samsung miss that ... LOL
I am tilted for Desire.. But tell me one thing. Is the Android stuff really cutomizable? How about apps like superb 3d games in iphone.. Does android market has similar stuff?
And the MAIN Qs for me...... Whats the future for Desire? I mean new ROMs and New Android OS v3.0 or so will be available for desire or atleast custom roms maybe ?
I heard Android 3.0 is comin after xmas... i really want a device which can be updated with time
Eh... uh.... HTC Desire HD
hey...
and HTC EVO 4G???
my vote is for HD2..
I see I will have to raise my voice a little, HTC DESIRE HD IS GOING TO BE ANNOUNCED 15TH SEPTEMBER, IT WILL HAVE 4X THE POWER OF HTC DESIRE AND 8MPX CAM WITH DUAL LED FLASH. ALSO IT WILL HAVE AN AMAZING 4.3 INCH SCREEN AND ANDROID 2.2
IT WILL BE MOST PROBABLY CHEAPER AND WILL HAVE BETTER BATTERY LIFE. AND AT LAST, HDMI AND KICKSTAND.
THANK YOU

Hopefully my link worked. If carriers are not a problem, then I think Sprint's Epic 4g is the best phone out right now. From what I have read there is no GPS problem. It also has a larger slide out QWERTY than Droid 2,it has camara flash, and 4g - if your in covrerage area. Lag problems are also gone. There is the ability to cut off touchwiz in favor of android launcher as well. On my Captivate, the camara takes great photos without flash so camara quality is superb. Plus it has about the most capable CPU you can find coupled with the best gpu available. I bought the iphone4 on day 1 and returned it on Captivates release day and have not regretted it. And yes, its very customizable. Just pick a carrier with options because you can always trade it out within 30 days.

Completely bull****.
No Evo 4G option? Now that the bugs have been worked out it's tits.
yeah my last phone was a vogue so I don't have much to compare it to, but there are already people saying they took back their epics after having AMOLED burn-in issues, bad buttons, no gps, etc.
Out of those phones, I think the HD2 has the best value considering its around $100 cheaper than the other ones, but with similar hardware specs. However, I've never owned any of those phones, so I could very well be wrong.
On a side note, if you are really into putting on different OS's and would like a change, you could take a look at the n900 (slower processor but could be overclocked) or even upcoming Nokia N9 (Though it seems like Nokia phones don't receive much love in this forum) . They're going to have the Meego OS, and developers have also ported Android 2.2 to run on the N900 aswell.
Seems like competetion here is between HD2 and Galaxy S, But there is a price difference of 200$ between these two phones, WHich is kinda alot
Extra 200$ for AMOLED 16 M screen, i guess thats the only hardware part where Galaxy/Desire are better than HD2. A small diff in RAM too, but otherwise all hardware specs are similar.
HD2 probably gets bad battery life with android and you could run into some weird bugs, they've done a great job with android, its what prolonged my touch diamonds life. Win mobile is dead, haven't looked back since I got my Evo. Best phone I've ever had, no regrets but there's always something new coming out.

HD2. Got 4 microsd cards, 3 running different builds of android the other running win mo. Depending on my mood or need for a particualr app (sat nav/games etc..) I just boot into whatever suits, HTC & Microsoft pretty much ditched this phone after the US launch yet XDA have given it a fresh start and pushed it back to the top of the smartphone list IMO. If you like playing about with your phone then there is no other option, the others are just phones in comparison
I have been usin WinMo devices for last 2 years or so, but i guess WinMo is kinda dead end now. Even if i get HD2, i will like to use Android on it for a change, So why not just get an Android set with No bugs
Well i am still compiling up my money... got 400$ by now That shud suffice for HD2, but i guess i gotta wait and save some more for Galaxy or Desire.
Why are people voting Galaxy and Not Desire ? I mean its almost the same hardware.... and Desire has a bigger community here i guess.... Htc phones usualy get new updates while i m not sure samsung will keep up the updates for their phones :S

Inspire vs Atrix

I just switched back to ATT from Sprint (Evo 4g) and bought the Inspire with the intent of returning it next month when the Atrix comes out.
I seem to, however, really like the Inspire and am wondering if the Atrix is really worth the additional $100. Besides the higher res (yet smaller) screen, why would I change to the Atrix? Sure it has a dual core Tegra2, but Froyo doesn't even use 2 cores so what am I getting?
I know that the Atrix has a locked bootloader but that isn't a huge dealbreaker for me.
Thoughts?

Honestly I can't say I'm a fan of pentile screens like the Atrix has. Not to mention I read somewhere(cannot verify accuracy)that the Dalvik VM system on Froyo at the very least does not support multithreading so a dual core won't make any difference yet.
Plus, I have had bad experiences with Moto. I'm pretty happy with HTC so far.
Apps built with the NDK can take advantage of the dual core processor. The processor, resolution, ffc, hdmi, and 1080p recording all sound great, but software is more important to me. The Captivate tought me that. Great hardware doesn't mean crap if the software sucks. Sense is a lot better than Motoblur and the locked bootloader downright sucks. HTC is also slightly better about updating their software. Oh, and the dock and laptop are a complete ripoff.

I just did the exact same thing, still waiting for the inspire to arrive though. I came from the Evo and I love HTC products, I think I'll keep it afterall and wait for the next HTC flagship phone.
The Atrix is more future proof than the Inspire with dual core and a gig of ram. Froyo may not take full advantage of dual core, but how about future builds? Gaming will certainly be smoother and with that huge battery I should be able to get through a day of heavy usage. I can't seem to do that with my Inspire unless I turn off most of the things I like about the phone. It's a tough choice, but blur doesn't bother me so I may make the jump.

Quoted for troof. HTC is the manufacturer who seems to get it right.
It looks like the difference that the inspire has a .3 inch bigger/lower resolution screen screen, 8GB less memory, higher MP camera (8MP), has digital compass, has HTC sence (maybe better than momto blur?), has fm radio.
I guess it just depends on what features are important to you. My only real question is about the insire's FM radio. Is it actually functioning out of the box or did att disable it?
Go over to the development threads and check out all of the Roms for the Inspire. Then immediately leave because the Atrix will never have that good of a development community. Crippled software on overpowered hardware will never be as good as quality/variety of software on perfectly capable hardware. Dual core isn't standard yet and the benefits of it have yet to be implemented effectively. When we're running custom roms of the next Android update with an optimized kernel, the Atrix will be stuck waiting for an official update with nothing more than a glorified theme.

I just exchanged my Atrix for an Inspire yesterday.
After rooting and unlocking, adding CM7 and the 1.8Ghz kernel, I can say with 100% confidence that I made the right choice switching.
Although the screen on the Inspire is lower resolution, it looks amazing, much more so than that of the Atrix.
I think everyone over there in the Atrix forum is coming to the conclusion that their phones will probably never see an unlocked bootloader, and are jumping ship because of it.

^This.....I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks so. I think the Atrix display looks horrible. I continually ponder how more people don't make mention of it. I came from a Captivate (which I still have) and the Inspire before I tried the Atrix and its quality leaves A LOT to be desired.
I still have both devices. And I had decided to return the atrix once or twice but cannot pull the trigger because of the hardware. Everything else, is better on the inspire. I feel like I have to force myself to like the Atrix. I've given it a try (a day's run) and each time I went back to the inspire. Hm, I'll see how it plays out.
Via the XDA app for the HTC Inspire
I am extremely confident with my decision to get the inspire. I love the screen and man this thing is fast. Even though the atrix has better specs I really think that the inspire, once rooted and oc'ed is way faster. I pop in to the atrix forums once in a while and it just solidifies my confidence that I got the right phone. Everyone over there is complaining about one thing or another, which wouldnt be that big of deal because Android is so customizable, but that isnt the case with MOTO because of the locked bootloader. Also who really wants to have to wait for official updates? Especially from companies like MOTO and Samsung. I am happy.

Depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for a phone that under-performs but looks great on a stat sheet - Atrix is for you. I had nothing but hate for that phone after just 3 days of using it. Its sluggish, the UI is clunky, animations were horribly slow.
Inspire has a far better screen believe it or not. It has no pixelation that I can even see (atrix had a ton) and the colors are far far far more accurate. The atrix couldnt even do the color yellow.
Atrix - 2/10 stars
Inspire - 9/10
So far on the att website users averaged give both phones 4 out of 5. I have weighed the pros and cons after playing with both of them for about an hour and believe I will go with the inspire for its 4.3 inch screen, faster and more accurate acquisition of GPS during my tests, 8MP camera, FM radio and good old HTC hardware.
I did notice an issue with the inspire that I was playing with where the pull down screen that shows running or recently launched programs was slow to drag left and right. Anyone else notice this?

had atrix for 3 days and for all 3 days tried to full my self i like the phone... nope didnt work. second day into.. dead pixels exchanged to find screen off to the left and actually twisted another one and the same problem, overall the qhd screen is horrible just go ahead and search something in google and look at the smaller text you'll see the pixels are missing . motorola screwed this one completely ; the phone really feels like was put together in some tiny village in 3th world country. side by side inspire feels smoother faster ( ain't no joke) and with iphone build quality.the last feature got my girlfriends attention and trust me she's one of this iphone4 owners that no matter what point you'll make that makes android shine vs iphone she'll tell ya i don't care. and i dont care if the atrix is better with games , pointless feature if u ask me... ill stick with my ps3 for real gaming experience. would be nice to have hdmi out and louder speaker otherwise thats pretty much what's missing. inspire much better phone.

Is it a good phone?

Hi, just a curiosity. I came from the Desire HD (rooted and bla bla bla) and I'm wondering where is the difference between this Sensation and the DHD. I do not feel it really different... I tought it was double faster or something like that, but exept the resolution I cannot find great changes..
Build quality is better (for me, at least).
It's much more compact, easy to hold.

1. Screen size doesn't matter in this case. The Sensation is a lot more streamlined and it's thinner width ways than the DHD, due to 16:9 screen. The DHD is also much more rectangular than the Sensation; the Sensation has curved edges, like the Nexus One. Thus, the Sensation feels quite a bit smaller than the DHD.
2. DHD has Sense 3.0, but it's not official. It always feels better when it's official!
3. Don't know about Instant Capture being ported; it may be something to do with the hardware. I believe Instant Capture is done by continually auto focussing.
4. Like Google Movies, I don't know if Watch will work on a rooted device (due to copyright restrictions, etc) let alone on a device it wasn't made for, i.e. DHD.
5. Dual core is awesome

I upgraded from the HD2 to the Sensation; albeit I was using a crappy Nokia for 3 weeks in between. My opinion is that the Sensation is better, battery feels like it lasts twice as long and once the small bugs are sorted (i.e phone restarting occasionally when using the camera and the flash is required) I cannot see a reason why anyone would not want to upgrade to this.
As for the camera flash causing the crash, I have uninstalled App Killer and it hasn't happened since so maybe a work around until an official update is released.
Thanks, im onto vodafone now, my hd2 has been ace but i cant live with the crap battery any longer. Here is hoping reception on the sensation is fixed as well. Vodafone had told me i would have to wait a month longer for an upgrade but im going to press hard and see how i get on!

G2X to Sensation

Ok, here's my opinion and comparison between the two, which I waited two weeks handling the sensation before posting.
The G2X was awesome without its fault the first couple days I had it. It was fast and reliable, simple to its core running the stock froyo. I miss the G2X to tell you guys the truth, and would have kept it if issues were solved, but I really couldn't wait months before an update are sent out. Even if updates are sent out it is still a gamble whether or not it will function the way it should. Paying a premium price for a phone should get you a near flawless device that should keep you happy for atleast a year or two, and shouldn't give you so much hassle that you can't use it due to bootloop for a whole day while you are out.
The HTC Sensation, so far, is working flawlessly. The lag people are talking about is pure nonsense. If you do remove most of the widgets that is running when you first turn on the device it should work without any lag, and people shouldn't really have that much widgets running.
Build Quality:
They are pretty much the same here. The G2X does feel more plasticky in the back, but it didn't really annoy me. The only thing about the sensation I didn't like are the power and volume buttons. They look like they will fall off any minute compared to the G2X which looked solid.
Screen:
The screen on the G2X does pop out more compared to the Sensation, but the resolution fares much better like it should on the latter device. I have to say the screen on the Sensation is amazing even under the sunlight. The only annoyance I have is that you have to go under settings to turn on the automatic dimmer because it is not on the power widget. Browsing the web is also better on the Sensation since you can see more with higher resolution. I have not experienced any of the issues they have posted such as dust, and touch sensitivity. Comparing to the G2X the touch sensitivity fares better on the sensation. I remember that sometimes I had to swipe the unlock button twice on the G2X, but haven't had that issue on the Sensation. The new sense UI is cool, that's all and will give you entertainment for 5mins.
Volume:
This is where I saw a really big difference. The G2X is far superior when it comes to the sound of the loudspeaker. I can hear the sensation's notifications just fine, but with the G2X I can hear it without any problem from another room and I can't say the same thing with the HTC. For this amount I would expect HTC to fit a better speaker, although, it doesn't annoy me since I usually have my phone on vibrate.
I like the Sensation, and I think that it is a superior quality to the G2X. Although, I do miss my G2X too.

This is basically my experience. G2x would have been awesome minus bugs, I couldn't wait to find out if they would be fixed. I did that for the vibrant and never again will I..
Sensation is just more reliable... Camera and video camera eat up g2x, I agree the screen on g2x is better looking. No lag on sensation either...... G2x is pimp, but I think reboots are hardware....sensation it is for me. Id come back if the phone was fixed and with gingerbread...
As a person who went from a G2X to a Sensation I agree with pretty much everything you say. I think you got the Sharp panel for your display which is why you think the G2X pops more. The AUO panel found in done Sensations is super bright with vibrant colors that pop almost as much as a Super AMOLED. I have handled 4 Sensations and trip of them have been laggy due to the person keeping the UI animations, weather animation and a HTC widget on every page. The Sensation I have only has the click widget with 4 pages worth of icons and it is buttery smooth.
Tell me if you notice a difference in these areas.
-App speed: I have found that most apps load and interact faster on the Sensation such as Google Maps which loads and zooms twice as fast than it does on the G2X.
-Flash Videos: Play smoother on the Sensation.
-Contacts app: Scroll faster than on the G2X which would stutter a little bit. Also my contacts pictures on my G2X would take a second to load when scrolling but they are instantly there as I scroll on the Sensation.
-Display: After looking at the Sensation for a couple days, do the icons and peters look fuzzy on the G2X?
All in all. I think once we get the Sensation rooted and this bloatware off of it, this phone will be a super beast.

I don't think I could ever go back to any device with a resolution less then QHD. I looked at the G2X last night and the icons/letters looked fuzzy.
If you display isn't better than the G2X's then try returning it for one with a AUO panel which almost pops as much as Super AMOLED. You probably have the Sharp panel.

I am curious about this. The unit I played with look like garbage compared to my G2x. The contrast was horrible on the Sensation. Washed out blacks and poor visibility in sunlight. I was not aware there are two different panels available. Is there a manufacturing date to look for? How can you tell before you purchase if you are getting the good panel?

I didn't really say that the display is bad compared to the G2X. The only reason I say this is because I was looking at the display through maybe 60-75% brightness to save battery, plus I don't want to get blinded. Full brightness then yes sensation does look really good.
Are you guys for REAL. Comparing Apples to Orange. First off, G2x runs android 2.2.2 and Sensation runs 2.3 if memory serves me right. So any comparison you guys where doing should have stopped right there not to mention one is stock vs non stock interface.

comparing an official 2.3 build to a leaked/incomplete version isn't exactly fair.. Even comparing to CM wouldn't be because it isn't even in RC yet. just saying...

Isn't the Snapdragon vs. TegraII Apples to Oranges?
Isn't 768mb vs 512mb of RAM Apples to Oranges?
Isn't a CPU clocked at 1.2 vs 1.0 Apples to Oranges?
Fact of the matter is not two devices are alike and they people will always compare Apples to Oranges. Just because both devices are running on 2.3 doesn't mean they can be compared then. There will still be other differences so I I don't ever see a Apples to Apples test.

No offense, but it seems that you are quite enamored with the sensation. You post the exact same thing in the threads of the two, and what I'm wondering is since love your sensation so much, why hang around here with our "inferior" g2xs?

Well sure, we can compare iOS to Android... but with Android, there are lots of optimizations in GB could make a big difference in numbers.
A good test is Stock G2x and Stock Sensation (2.2.2 vs 2.3.3) just as a good base. The true test comes when both are running official versions of the same software (2.3.3 vs 2.3.3).
GPU Accelerated OS parts aren't even included until GB so the G2x should feel faster on GB.
Even a G2x CM7 test wouldn't be fair because while they are on the same OS, CM has always had lower numbers (for some reason).
CM7 on Sensation and G2x would be a perfect test.

Agree. The best comparison for me is both phones right out of the box since we can't get apples to apples until GB is released for G2x.
Why does it HAVE to be apples to apples?
I have a T-mobile contract for another 6 months. I want the best phone on that T-mobile contract I can get. I am going to compare every T-mobile phone to every T-mobile phone and choose the best one for me. Its about comparing one device that is available to you to another device that is available to you. If I can root it and load a custom ROM on it to make it better I will consider that as best I can in my decision making... because it is available to me. Also, if something changes about a device and makes it a better option later on I will have to weigh that and consider switching because what is available to me changed.

I am enamored with the Sensation and I will be enamored when the Hercules gets released. I still play with my G2X and still do like it. There are some games I can't play on my Sensation that I love playing on the G2X and I still use the G2X to get my hack on.
Just because I extensively used both devices side by side (unlike most of the people here) and decided that the Sensation was the better all around device due to a number of reasons doesn't mean I don't like the G2X anymore and for that matter doesn't mean I don't use it anymore.
I have already stated the things the G2X does better than the Sensation. If those reasons were enough to use it as my main device then I would return the Sensation in a heart beat as I am not tied to either one. I understand some people are tied to the G2X and will defend it until there contract runs out but quite frankly, I could give a two ****s less about defending devices just because I own them. The things I think the G2X does better might be important to you and that's why you choose to use it. The categories the Sensation does better in are more important to me and is why I use it as my daily driver.
Bottom line. I still use my G2X and my Nexus S for that matter every day and until I stop using them, I will not stop browsing there respected forums.
By the way. I guess you didn't see my post yesterday saying good things about the G2X...uh?

+1 my friend. This is exactly how I feel. When it comes down to it. NOTHING is going to be apples to apples. It's always oranges in the mobile world and people have an excuse for everything. Compare the available devices no matter what kind of fruit they are and just go with it.
I will say I honestly love both devices. I had 2 g2x's and my daughter has one. I traded one of them in a trade for a sensation and the 2nd one I had sent back to LG for repair(should be here friday) I will admit I do miss my G2X a bit. I'm looking forward to getting my other one back and restoring it to the way my other one was before I traded it off
I hate sense that's y sensation sucks

Any complaints about the Nexus S?

I've been considering trading my HTC Sensation for a Samsung Nexus S. Do you guys have any complaints about the phone hardware wise, build quality etc? The wifi death grip on this phone is about to nearly drive me insane.
My friend has the nexus s and its awesome but I say replace your sensation with HTC or T-Mobile and just root and load a custom rom to make it smooth/smoother.

Did that already, phone is as smooth as a baby, but the wifi issue is hardware related, and oddly enough i use my phone landscape 80% of the time, which means wifi is non existent unless I hold it awkwardly. T_T.
The Nexus S is smooth. But the Sensation XE, That I own is smoother than my old Nexus S. With more time and optimization the Sensation will be alot smoother.
That's exactly what I did, I had a Sensation for a few days as an upgrade from Orange, but when I saw a Nexus S on special offer and got one for my daughter, I found it much lighter and the screen better than the Sensation. So I bought one for myself and put the Sensation on Ebay.
I also like the Nexus S OS because it is clean without any manufacturers customisations.
I updated mine from 2.3.1 to 2.3.6 stock ROM. Will wait for the OTA ICS update later this month.
I have found the WiFi to be a bit weak, this apparently is a known problem, otherwise just feels faster than the Sensation.
In future I'm going to stick to the Google phones because I prefer a vanilla Android install.

Weak because of a software issue? I know the Sensation had a problem like that and a wifi range patch fixed that. Right now I'm seeing now downfall to trading my sensation for the nexus

I had a sensation and traded it for my current nexus s. Not one ounce of regret.
I've had several android phones and this nexus s hands down is the best. I can see myself having this phone for a couple years and, for me, that says a lot.

i really want to do the same as you right now. the sensation is getting a little too boring and there is a lack of development on the roms i want. do you guys suggest the nexus s or to keep the sensation? and does the single/dual core have much of a difference?

So far, I've seen no reason to not trade, benchmarks are about the same if not better. One last question, hows the camera?
Only complaint: dog slow compared to GSII. On the plus side, it has such a better form factor and it feels better in my hand.

yeah, how is the camera, its 5mp compared to the 8mp in the sensation and theres no hd recording, but its still great for picture taking isnt it?
I had to make the same decision and I haven't looked back. One thing about the sensation that drove me insane was the touchscreen sensitivity. I would always miss keys on the keyboard and I'd have to press harder than I did on my old vibrant. The nexus s has a much better digitizer and is much more responsive over all IMO. Comparable to the galaxy s (not surprising). I will warn you, the screen isn't the sharpest, but the saturated colors and deep blacks are worth it IMO. Aside from that, I can't think of any downsides.

Quality seems great to me, so, switching it is for me!
Thats the thing with HTC. I love the build and Sense (less so since I got ICS on my Nexus S) but the screens are a POS and thats the thing that you interact with the most the screen. It really makes or breaks a phone.
HTC really need to get an Amoled supplier or something similar, else they will fall way behind Samsung in the next few years.
I will not touch another HTC phone because of this.
I've never actually compared my screen to the nexus s. So to me the screen quality seems fine haha. . Although, I used to have the HD7, and the quality of that screen was HORRID.
I had a Hero and the screen was nice.
Then I got a HD2 about 6 months ago and put Android on it. It ran it well but the screen was an abomination. Also, the digitizer was poor as it missed buttons pressed all the time. So I sold it and kept the Hero for another 6 months.
Then I saw the Nexus S for £199 and couldn't resist.
I can't get over how good this phone is.
