Its the update for the non branded asian rom sensation. it just fixes a few bugs that some ppl are experiencing. for eg i notice that the ppl widget will now keep my default actions that i set, before it would not.

I have this phone and just got the OTA update. Any idea how I can change the location of the device from SE Asia to Europe?

Can't be done until we have S-OFF

Bluetooth problem with handsfree kit after update.
I did the OTA update 2 days ago.
Now i can connect to my bluetooth car kit, can initiate answer, but audio does not transfer to car kit.
I have removedthe connection and set it up again - no joy.
any ideas?
p.s. it did work before that.

If you're talking about FRF50 release then you will never receive this OTA as it's a test build - destined only for test devices. However, you can download it and apply it manually if you look in the Nexus One category.
When the official version is released for public wide OTA distribution then you can get it that way.
Why are you waiting for it to come OTA when you can get it now?
Thanks for your reply. I apologise for the confusion. I wanted to check if people received the Froyo update directly from Google on their mobile phones rather manual update.
but guys ?
does this (Over The Air update) will appear automaticly and show me that there is an 2.2 update ???
or i should go manully to somewhere in setting and see ???
and can we download it directly to our phone using wifi or data plan ?
Already got my Froyo in Romania. Hope you get it too. BTW I think it has to be SIMlock free to get the update.
updated my desire tonight seems to work fine on the un branded phone. However having some problems with data connection now :-S
been searching day and night for the OTA update as well....but now i will check the nexus one part...is the froyo update rooted yet?...
thanks

Unless I'm mistaken, I think you just got pushed the HSUPA update. This part of the file name, "1_84_502_11", matches my firmware number after the HSUPA update. I don't know what number was on the firmware before the update, but my firmware is 1.84.502.11 after said update. From what I remember, the file name is exactly the one I got when I checked for it after the update was officially released last month.
EDIT: Unless of course, I'm wrong, and that's a totally new firmware update. Though I haven't seen any info on any new firmware updates for us since HSUPA.

I got the push on this via wifi yesterday afternoon also. I was assuming that this was the update that would enable installation of non market apps but I was wrong. Anyone have any additional information on this OTA update?
Personally, I do not think this is a recent update as I have been running custom roms since I bought the device but had to revert back to stock because of a warranty issue that will require me sending the device back. I think it is an update that was missed in the timeframe from February launch up until about 3 days ago.

I just referenced those numbers to mine and it IS the HSUPA update. It wasn't released till late April, so it hasn't been out that long. I just don't know if you should install it. If your sending it back, and since you reverted back to stock, maybe you should try installing it.

I was at wendys today, used their wifi to check for the update and sure enough it was this same one. D/l'ed it and installed. My speeds went from 200kb/s to 500kb/s. That was just one test though
I just hope this doesnt effect rooting it in the future as i plan to do so.
Just got the Inspire for my wife today. Saw this update as well. She doesn't want me to root or flash anything yet. Wondering if it's ok to run this update without it affecting the ability to root and flash anything later.
TIA

This is correct.
They released it yesterday, but I had already installed the one that was "leaked". So today I compared the official release and the leaked one, and they are in fact the exact same thing. No need to wait to recieve it OTA, just go to the thread where the RUU is avaliable for download. It's all the same thing.

Try doing a factory reset to see if that helps with your gps.
After installing the leaked file I did a factory reset just for the heck if it to make sure things are all cleared out.
I wanted to install this just to see but when I tried I just got hung up on the HTC black logo screen
I'd root but im so worried about pricking my phone.

update 1.45.531.1

so I went into my settings I checked for htc software update today and it said that I have 1 ready , so I now have "upgrade version 1.45.531.1"
I haven't had long to play around with it but I'm 1 of those people who definitely had a death grip issue on my wifi, and it seems fixed now.
I'm in the same spot as usual and I can grip it with both hands in landscape mode and will drop signal but it won't completely lose like it used to
I'm in southern california

now I'm really confused, you just said you got 2.3 .4
that's the update that they say we are supposed to be getting my date is version 1.45.531.1
Is this the same update just with 2 different names I'm really confused
Just got the update but I will not install it over my S-off, CWR, & Root. Instead I'll just flash a 2.3.4 cooked rooted Rom over in development!

The phone's firmware # is 1.45.531.1.
Part of that includes updating the OS to Android 2.3.4. That's where the 2 diff numbers are coming from.

Question:
I have a Sensation brought in the UK via an Ebay supplier which was £80 cheaper, new and boxed but I find it has an Asian ROM 1.35.707.1 also had free maps for various Asian countries in the box.
If I update this to the standard UK OTA 1.35.401.1 will this then update to the latest version vai the off air update, or does HTC use other means to identify the orgin of the phone and then apply the update?
I am probably going to try this route first and then update to the latest release later if and when HTC release it official for download.
Cheers,
Ant

You probably won't be able to update to anything except another asian rom via ota. You could try flashing an ruu if you don't want to root, but it depends what your cid is.

HTC U12+ firmware 2.55.401.3 28/09/2020

My Phone Just got updated to software number 2.55.401.3 on 28/09/2020
with the tag : minor improvements.
no noticeable change only thing that stand out is the " August 1,2020 " android security patch level
anyone got the update?
search the internet for it but could not find anyone talking about it..
if you guys figured out what new stuff in this small (100mb) update let me know to add them to the list
PS: my phone is the unlocked version
update :
change logs :
- android security patches August 1,2020
- microphone fix for speaker mode on call
yes, i also received the update
No update for me yet, still on 2.55.401.1 with the speakerphone hotfix. That might be the reason why... I hope I'll also get it.
I also have the update for the speaker and no update for me. I am also rooted i know you have the remove magisk and restored the boot.img , not sure if is enough maybe need to install the ruu again for that.
I received the update too. Security upgraded to this year.
Hotfix for the speakerphone and no update for my phone, this is strange!

Yes but with what I know is not possible to install it in this way you will got a error. You need to go to HTC chat live and ask for the update and is will ask you your imei to push the update.
But what I am curious is why when you have this update the new one of this week you do not have it. Maybe is because this new update includes also this patch of speaker? Need to someone for confirm this

Is 2.55.401.3 for an EU / Asia model (that is, not U.S. Unlocked)? There's no update yet for the U.S. Unlocked model?
I've long moved on to the Pixel 4 series but just bought a prepaid 365 day tracfone SIM card, and gonna use the U12+ as my new backup phone. Would be nice to have the speakerphone issue fixed.
Nothing here yet. Unlocked U12+ 64GB (software number: 2.55.401.1) up to date in every other respect and on Vodafone UK.
I know this is a somewhat rhetorical question but the U12+ really is never going to get Android 10, is it?
Such a shame, the hardware on the device clearly has a lot of life left in it and I've owned mine for 2 years now.
Is there anything i can do, to get that update?
is there any RUU or something like that?
I decided to reach out to HTC to check if the hotfix people will also get this more official update. But after filling in my SN, I get a nice message saying:
Your device is currently out of warranty and is no longer eligible for free of charge Technical Support

HTC is really cutting costs, I can't even talk to HTC anymore?
Anyway, I dug up my e-mail conversation about the hotfix and reply to that, hopefully that'll work
I still do not have this update.. the last one is the mic patch..
