Hi today i've my HTC Desire S S-off and Root and also loaded SAGA LBC MOD v0.5.2.
The question is should i flash the radio what are the advantages?if yes which one?
It's a little bit risky so i need your experience
i've found this link is the right image the one in the middle? i mean Saga_Telstra_WWE_1.36.841.3
http:/ /lbc-mod-android-dev. de/radio-images/
im writing my phone specs:
Bootloader screen:
Saga PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.98.1002
RADIO-3805.04.02.01_M
eMMC-boot
The settings in about phone> software :
20.28d.30.0805U_3805.04.02.01_M
build no:1.36.841.3 CL39875
Thank you very much
newer radio generally have a newer version of the drivers for wifi, your network, etc
so it may increase your battery life and give you better signal reception
but a newer version may not always be better because different radios perform differently in different regions
& also flashing a radio is more risky than flashing ROMs
so if you are fine with your current radio i would say dont replace it
but generally speaking most people say that they find the radio that you currently have to give them the best performance
Thank you for the information. I was worried about the wifi performence of the phone but i think the LBC mod will do the thing for that issue.

Hey, I was asking myself what exactly are the advantages of flashing a newer radio. Asked in ARHD dev thread but figured I'd get an answer in here faster.
I thought radio was for connectivity. So it should be depe ding on where you are. But why then does e.g. ARHD recommend one radio for everyone? Wouldn't it make more sense to keep stock radio, maybe with default settings by your provider?
Thanks for your help.

The radio is linked to the ROM, so the custom ROM in question will always work best with the associated radio. It'll help with battery life, signal, everything. Radios aren't carrier specific
And why can't / don't the chefs put the radio in the Rom to be flashed automatically? Or isthat not possible? Would be the easiest wasn't imo, if its true that the radio is for each ROM th best one.

It can be done, but as flashing a radio is the more risky part of ROM flashing it's not recommended to do at the same time as a ROM. End of the day you don't HAVE to flash the radio but it's best to if it's recommended
Do I need ENG S-Off to flash a new radio on sensation? I've read many different things. Some ppl say I don't need it, some say I do... What's right and what's wrong? That would be my final question. Maybe in a few days ill try to flash the recommended radio as well. Thanks in advance for your help.

No you don't, ENG S-OFF just gives the fastboot commands, as does the Revo HBOOT. I personally use the ENG HBOOT as I don't like the pink Revo banner!
U don't havta fix what isn't broke. Flashing a radio is the best way to brick a phone

Must be running a LeeDroid emulator.
Hi guys,
When revolutionary came out I was one of the first adopters, mainly because I loathe Vodafone's crapware they forcefully feed you with your new phones.
Now I've been happy ever since, but I want to update to the latest OTA.. or at least, be capable to do so.
I've tried Recovery Manager, however, none of the available recoveries on there work (Rebooting in recovery gives black screen, phone icon with a red exclamation mark).. so i reverted back to the backed up CWM recovery Revolutionary installed.
Obviously, the recovery I have now is not capable of applying (f)ota updates, thus limiting me in my ways to get my updates done, without potentially fubaring my phone.
The information I can find:
Android version: 2.3.4
Sense version: 3.0
Software number: 1.50.162.2
Kernel version: 2.6.35.13-g1e13373
Baseband: 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M
-----------------
-Revolutionary-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.1111
RADIO-10.14.9035.01_M
eMMC-boot
Now I've read around, and all it comes down to is finding either the right RUU, and stripping off the proper recovery; or finding a compatible recovery, so that it'll allow me to patch the fota update.
I'm also fully aware that there's much to find on the forum, however, I can't seem to make heads nor tails from the information I managed to gather there (dozens upon dozens of posts, some vague, some contradictory to eachother.. gets confusing -very- fast)
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Anybody got a clue?

Hi,
I do not understand why you want to go the HTC way,
Your phone is beautifully setup with revolutionary, and you are on GB.
Follow THIS THREAD and you will be set up for any ICS ROM out there.
All ICS ROMS contain everything you would get from HTC ,PLUS some extras.
Go the simple way,and save yourself a whole heap of grief .
In order to up grade to ics rom's the only thing you need to do is upgrade your firmware thats compatible with ics one that is done you Will be able to flash a ics Rom
Sent from my Sensation Z710e using xda premium
So Ive been flashing ROMS for quite a while but in the past few months Ive experienced issues when calling. After about 1-2 mins my phone "hangs-up" or cuts out essentially. Im on the HTC sensation, O2, running the CyanogenMod10 ROM, as of yesterday and im still having the same problem, so i know its not the ROM
this is my current details when I go into recovery:
PYARMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 1.29.0000
RADIO 11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP V05.6.0.2226.00.0418
emmc boot
pretty sure im SuperCID
I looked up the app"GetRIL" to check that, it didnt match but downloaded the correct one which now is
RIL 4.0.0037HMQ[2]
Baseband 11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M
Can anyone give me an idea if any of these arnt correct or why this is happening??
my heads fried trying to figure it out!!! HELP!!
Okay, there is my problem ***(SOLVED)***
I got 2 HTC sensation 4G, First, lets call it: Alt. Had a broken screen, I bought a new one wich we'll call : Main.
Alt came with Hboot 1.18, was rooted using Revolutionary tools. Main had Hboot 1.27 so i used juop tool.
When CM10 came up, I started flashing daily on Alt to wait for a stable, nearly bugfree version of J-B to install on Main. However i always had the same issue : force restart every 10sec or so. After a week or so, I decided to try on my Main even if Alt had trouble. It ran perfectly! Except the little bugs CM10 still had at those time, but no restart at all .Since then I found out that Alt has all the trouble in the world for running any J-B Rom. CM10 is somewhat stable now, but camera and video camera restart the phone, too much request after sleep ( feels like a ''panic'' when missing memory, like if new Govs, werent supported)
Now I Installed Juop Hboot 1.27.1111 on alt as well and the problem persist. I figure my problem is the Radio, wich is now the only firware difference between both. Any Ideas?
I am sick of reading about piece of papers and battery connectors, if your reply has anything to do with cleaning connectors, wedging something in my phone or changing batteries, please sont bother. I got 3 stock battery, the behavior is the same with anyone of those, and the connectors are clean, thank you.
Here are the bootloader screen Info :

So, This : RADIO-11.24.3504.10_m, OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0131
Is what I can seem to find Anywhere... the only Ruu i can find for my carrier contains the RADIO-10.14.9035.01_m.
Just so you know, the problem with the connectors can be the phone, ever thought about that? Anyway, did it's screen break when it fell? If so, some internals might be messed up.

Sorry, I guess i wasnt clear enought. I should really point out that by : ''Since then I found out that Alt has all the trouble in the world for running any J-B Rom.'' I meant that every other GB and ICS rom was running perfectly with no restart.. Cm7 was running well for 5months, Only J-B roms shows this problem.
I am convinced that my problem is Firmware, and am only looking for a way to upgrade my Alt radio to the same as Main Or any other FIRMWARE related suggestion. I only created this thread because every others are suggesting physical trouble, play stay on Firmware topic.
Running ics you have two firmware choices 3.32 or 3.33. As for radios and ril I suggest you start with the generic ics radio and matching Ril file. Radio is flashed via pg58img, ril is flashed regularly. Do some experiment and see if that helps.
Sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1,kernel- faux 10b6 , Mugen 3800 mah battery. Please press thanks if I helped in anyway.

I'm using CM10 and I've been wanting to update my S4 to a KitKat rom for some time and now that some stable builds are starting to come out I decided it was a good time.
On my first try flashing a new rom I got an error message asking for a newer version of hboot (mine is 1.14.0002 and it wanted 2.15.0000), so I looked around and found out I needed a RUU to update that, but since finding one for my phone is pretty difficult I decided to S-Off it, because apparently you can use any RUU that way.
Obviously it's not working, that's why I'm posting this. I did the htcdev method to unlock the phone back when I installed CM10 and to get S-Off I followed the rumrunner method. No problems whatsoever so far. They start appearing as soon as I try to update the 2.15.0000 RUU I downloaded from this other tutorial (the HTC Europe one, since I live here).
Following all the steps in that page I read about needing to change the phone's SuperCID to make it compatible with the RUU. First I tried with the default SCID that my phone had (VODAP304) with no luck. Then after a bit of searching I tried changing it to HTC__001 which seemed to be the correct one for the european RUU, but the same thing happened: it gives an incompatibility error, the process stops, the phone bootloops and I have to do a TWRP restore (the back up is from this morning and I made it just before attempting this, so no data loss of any kind)
These are the numbers bootloader gives me, if they're of any help:

***UNLOCKED***

What exactly am I missing here to update the hboot?
You don't need to install RUU, you need to flash a new firmware. Take a look at this thread.

But isn't that for kernels? In several hours of research I haven't found one post about kernels for my issue
It does look similar to another method I've found recently that flashes the hboot through fastboot/recovery but users say it's much more risky

Yes it's about kernels and the problem with the new roms is nothing but the kernel. So firmware update is enough as a solution. I don't think it's dangerous if you follow the instructions correctly. But you should follow them word to word with your own risk
