[Q] Droid 2 Global unlocked, but how to unlock Droid 3 ? - Droid 2 Global General

Hello,
I am lucky user of full unlocked D2G... it was activated for global using by verizon and then fully unlocked by NCK code for all GSM networks.
But now is Droid 3 out on sale and i need it
My question is :
Is possible unlock it with the same procedure or not ?
Thank you for all replies

I haven't yet heard of any unlock code databases for D3 leaking.

D3 (seems to) is not a global phone, so it doesn't have a SIM slot.
It's not possible to unlock.
Wait for Droid 3 global maybe....
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using XDA Premium App

Droid 3 is a GSM/CDMA phone and has a SIM slot.
Please at least read the technical specifications first.

...yes
droid 3 is GLOBAL phone with this specs.:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
CDMA 800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
I am on GSM 900/1800 in europe
like this:

Code sites cannot supply unlock codes yet. Give it a week or two, things might change.
@wondereye - Droid 3 is a global phone. It uses the same chipset as Droid 2 Global (QUALCOMM MSM6600 if I am not mistaken).
This only horrifies me since we all know how BAD Droid 2 Global is with (most) UTMS networks. Based on the first responses over @Droidforums D3 seems to show dangerously similar signs of unstable baseband just as D2G has.
Personally I am thinking I will hold my breath for a pure native GSM/UTMS only Milestone 3 or XT860 or whatever it is called this time.

I have no problems with using my D2G on 2G/3G network in my country.
It is true that when i have switched to GSM/UMTS mode for 3G internet, then is signal strength bar low.
...but the signal bar is laiyng. In service menu is signal good and approx same as on another android phone.

Droid3 in GSM?

Hi!
My Motorola Milestone is going crazy (after all..1 and a half year with OC to 1Ghz..)..any way.. I want to buy Motorola Droid3.. and in Verizon web site they said:
Code:
All–Digital, 800/1900, CDMA EVDO rev A and GSM 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS
and:
Code:
Customers must activate pre-installed SIM Card and a Global Service plan or feature to enable roaming outside of the U.S. in GSM and UMTS Network.
So my question is...if I will buy Droid3 he will work in GSM networks? (in Israel).
You think that my SIM card will fit?
Official word is- you have to enable global mode in Verizon store and buy their global plan for it to work. Meaning that it is locked.
Of course....in time...and such...

Verizon DROID 2 to GSM 1900/900 Optus Network?

Hey Guys, I'm interested in getting one of those R2D2 DROID 2 phones and I wish to use it on the optus network in Australia.
I believe optus uses a dual band 900/1900mhz ?
Some questions I have are too people that have tried this already.
Will the 3G data work on this phone?
How difficult and what modding needs to be done on this phone to get it too work?
Thanks for the help peeps : )
Let me get this straight.
You're asking whether you can use DROID2 R2D2 (a CDMA-only device that supports CDMA2000 and 3G CDMA 1x EV-DO Rev.A) on Optus's GSM network operating on 900/1800MHz bands with 3G UMTS/HSPA?
So, you want to use a pure CDMA device with no GSM support whatsoever on a GSM network, right?
Hardware wise this is almost identical to the milestone 2 right? I've heard that in other countries with the Verizon phone roaming is enabled so it would work with other networks? Excuse the noob question. How is cdma different to GSM?
Sent from my U8160 using XDA
CDMA is one standard. GSM is another. There is almost nothing similar between these. Here's a question: how do you fit a GSM SIM card into a DROID2 R2D2? It has no SIM card slot.
Verizon CDMA devices can roam on CDMA networks.
Verizon Global phones can use GSM networks, because they have a GSM+CDMA transceiver in them.
The DROID2 (and the R2D2 variant) isn't a Global device.
The DROID2 GLOBAL is.
Please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA2000 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM so that you can stop asking these… weird questions.
How is it a weird question?
Some have modded/flashed the DROID 4 which is CDMA phone to work on GSM.
I am merely asking if its possible or if anyone's tried it.
DROID4 is a Global device. It has a CDMA+GSM+LTE transceiver.
DROID2 doesn't.

[Q] Unlock

Hello,
I recently picked up the GSM version (Rogers) and am having issues with unlocking.
I've tried two online services without luck.
As you can see, I am trying to avoid paying the $50 fee that is being requested from the carrier.
Can anyone recommend a reputable vendor?

Whom have you tried unlocking it with? Have you tried cellunlocker.net? They claim to have an unlock code for the RAZR HD.

Confirmed. Successfully unlocked 2 RAZR HDs both locked to Orange (France).
Thank you both for the suggestions.
I tried theunlockshack.com but they could not locate an unlock code (but they graciously refunded my money).
Additionally, I tried a reseller on eBay but they were also unable to locate a code.
Ultimately, I utilized a local shop and had it unlocked in a matter of minutes. Not my first choice because of the cost but I am up and running.
All the best!
I found this website too if someone need

To address the questions concerning different countries, consider the following:
You can purchase the Verizon model (Droid Razr Maxx HD - XT926) or the GSM variant (Razr HD - XT925).
Both models take a SIM meaning they can be unlocked to work on networks other than the ones they were originally intended for.
You must be certain that the bands are compatible with your carrier (e.g. Viettel Mobile, MobiFone etc etc for Vietnam OR Movistar, TelCel etc etc for Mexico).
The bands for the Droid Razr Maxx HD are:
2G Network - CDMA 800 / 1900
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network - CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network - LTE 700 MHz Class 13
AND
The bands for the Razr HD are:
2G Network - GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network - HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network - LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600
LTE 700 / 800 / 1700 / 1800 / 2600
Call the Carrier you plan to use and ask if the bands are compatible.
unlocking it..
If anyone finds a way to unlock this phone, please post it here.

[Q]Difference beetween XT925 and XT926

As we all know, there are 2 versions of Razr Hd (and hope soon MAXX as well) phone
XT925 that is made for Verison
XT926 that is made for all other world
The main difference is LTE :
925:
4G Network LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600
LTE 700 / 800 / 1700 / 1800 / 2600
926: 4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 13
The question is whether it is software block or those are 2 different hardware phones?
Do want to purchase one MAXX phone for Europe for Verison and want to know is there any chance that it would work with European LTE
Take a look @ this comparison via PDADB:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=3446&id2=3811
It provides you with all the CDMA information versus that of the GSM.
Megafon and Yota both appear to offer Band 7 @ 2600Mhz which appears to coincide with the GSM version. That leads me to believe that using an unlocked XT925 on either network would result in a LTE connection.

No, I'm intending to buy this month...but I have some friends working on the Latam team in Mot's office in Jaguariuna, they told me that locked bootloader is a request from Verizon, so, maybe the XT925 is unlocked, the XT926(US version) is locked...

size for cases
Hello,
On the link you posted the size dimensions are exactly the same, I'm looking to buy accessories(case, cover, tripod, charger, etc) but for some reason the xt926 accessories are much cheaper than the xt925. Will all accessories fit the same for both phones?
Xt925 and XT926 have different radio hardware. 926 has cdma and 1 lte band, 925 has more, but different lte bands.
Which version is the one that is offered by Rogers (Canada)? And, if I get that one, and unlock it to use it in Serbia, are there some 4.1 custom ROMs for it?

Rogers Canada is XT925. It is the GSM model, you should be able to unlock it and use it all around the world, just be sure the GSM/UMTS/LTE frequencies are compatible.
Thanks. And, are there some 4.1 custom ROMs for it?

Stupid Question, I have the XT926 and I live in Florida. I am moving to germany in March, will this phone work over there?
Yes, it is unlocked.
Caveats:
You won't get LTE (only 4G/HSPA+)
Every time you boot up it will say "SIM is from an unknown source"
When you come back to the US, you'll have to use VZW. TMobile/ATT are blocked
So im confused...if i live in saskatchewan canada and my carrier is sasktel....using 4g hspa....which phone should get...the xt926 or the xt925.....just wondering cuz i want to buy this phone....thank you
Hey,
There must be multiple versions of the XT925 (international). All of them support the same 2G/3G bands, but differ in their LTE radio hardware:
Canadian version is definitely 700 / 1700 / 2100 (Source)
European version supports at least 800 and 2600 definitely (O2 Germany and SFR France) - possibly 1800 also
Australian version supports at least 1800 on Telstra - may be the same model as the European version?
South American version... no idea?! Same as Euro version perhaps (looks like 2600MHz LTE in Brazil)
Motorola should have given them separate model numbers to make it clearer
Su
Thanks for the info....i love motorola products...always have....but all the cdma, hspa, gsm talk started getting me confused....i know my carrier no longer sells cdma devices....but i was looking to buy this phone from ebay but wasnt sure on the att, verizon or what i needed to look for.....this site has helped me alot over the years with many things and am grateful for all the knowledge the ppl here have

Not exactly true. The XT925 firmware is what determines which radios are active. Having 700/800/1700/1800/2100/2600 all active at the same time would drain the battery like woah. Currently you can merge the radio you need into the rom you want to use, and make it work that way. I just hope whatever next "standard" of wireless data communication is more standard and less all over the f-ing place.
For the Motorola Defy, there was a list of radio settings compiled into a apk that would allow you to switch your baseband... Hopefully an enterprising dev will be able to work similar magic for the Razr HD.

what do you mean by band 3 or 40, please elaborate? What network are you trying to use?
I am using Droid mini (XT1030) and it has worked fine with almost every GSm service provider in India.
4 G lte bands .. unfortunately in India/using band 3 and band 40 but Droid Maxx don't have those bands .. my question is some people are claiming can possible to unlock lte bands I'm qualicom devices .. so Is this possible in our Verizon droid Maxx case ?

well, I do not know about the 4G bands in India. I am not sure if its even worth a shot. I am in Bangalore and even 3g is poor at its bet over here... forget about 4G
What is the status of unlocking band 3 (LTE 1800 Mhz) which will be used by Idea cellular in a few months from now?
Has anyone unlocked band 3 on the Droid Maxx (XT1080) and also Droid Razr HD (XT926)?
Ironically I'm also interested in this. Using O2 in the UK and it uses 800 mhz for its 4g, while the Maxx supposedly doesn't support it.

I think you must try QPST ...
Google for QPST and how to use that on Qualcomm devices... This may help
