Question About MyShelf on TMOUS USA Sensation? - HTC Sensation

So I have a question about the MyShelf Widget? My question has sort of been mentioned:
Refer to link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119340
This individual has made mention the reader app is not present. That question is addressed. What I was wondering is this...
1. I got my new phone pulled out the 8GB card and replaced it with a 16GB from my Desire HD. I never checked to see if the MyShelf widget worked without the reader app. I am guessing it may not huh? But here it is. I go to apply the widget and it says no books found once the widget is applied. I know how to fix this once we have root, but is there a way to get it to detect the books as they are on my new SDHC 16GB card. Any help in this would be appreciated as I liked reading them in my spare time. Thanks in advance to whoever may help out with this!
Cheers,
Shokouhi

Did you put books on your card? You need the reader to actually see them with that widget.

Thanks this is what I was also thinking. I thought there was a way to get it without the reader app. WTF? Why would TMOUS include the Widget and not the reader you know? Yeah this is a small reason as why our forum is great. Things like this don't happen with the good roms. Bad oversight on the part of TMOUS.

Once upon a time...Remote Desktop?

Hiya Guys,
I used to use an application (freeware) that enabled me to view the screen of my PDA on my computer whilst it was synced, I also used to be able to make changes on the PDA using the keyboard on the computer too! Which was so much easier for creating new contacts etc.
Can anyone here remember what it was called and where I can find it again.? I'v searched but cant seem to find it!
Only down side is it now has to WM5 Compatible.
Thanks for your help guys, look forward to hearing from someone soon.

You are a star! Exactly what I was after. Cheers
njcoussell - you might want to change the topic title to show that the problem has been solved.
There are a few other apps that do this as well... but the MS one is good enough I think.

RSS Reader / Google Sync

Hi
does anyone know of a RSS Reader that would sync with Google Reader? I've tried SpeedReader but it hangs a lot and doesn't work for me on a Touch HD
thanks
D
sorry, didnt search properly, I'll delete thread when i find out how!
Could you tell us what you found?
I only know Kinoma and Speeed Reader, but both aren't that great.
just installing pRSS Reader http://code.google.com/p/prssr/ and ViiGo http://viigo.com/download will let you know how they go

SBSH GoNews can do that and it is also very finger friendly. If you register at their forums, you can get 30 % off the price.
great, SBSH GoNews looks brilliant and just what i wanted. Just trying it out though and no matter what i do (and i have verified all the settings) will it sync with reader, its just not working (other examples on the forums) so I'm hoping to get access to a beta they have of 1.2

pRSS didnt do it for me, all feeds (from different folders in google reader) end out in one big list although technically it worked very well although i think it only sync's one way (read on pRSS didn't mark google reader as read)
ViiGo looks good but i wanted a 'lighter' app without all the bolt on's so thats gone
Holding out for the beta release of SBSH Touch as it looks perfect for what I want, just can't work out why it wouldn't work!

You need to create a folder in Google Reader for GoNews sync, and then add name of this folder to sync settings in GoNews. If a "Google Reader" category in GoNews is not created automatically, you can add it manually to your category list and then synchronize it. Channels will be created from the Google Reader folder selected for syncing.
They promise faster download speeds in 1.2. I hope that multiple Google Reader folder syncing can be added as well.
Hi
thanks for the tip but I had already tried that and it didnt work. Just waiting for the beta still ...
fyi there is a new version of speeedreader out next wednesday. It is much much improved so therefore your wait may be over soon!
wanted to second that. The author of speeed reader is getting ready to put out a 1.0 code of his software, and it works quite well on an HTC Whitestone and WM6.5

Manila Facebook Tab

Hi guys,
Sorry if this has been asked and is a really obvious answer, but I've used the search function and I can find things saying "Yeah, great idea", but nothing that has actually been done to download and installed.
I've got an HTC HD2/Leo and I'm looking for a Facebook tab for the Sense/Manila 2.5 interface. A friend of mine said there is a mod available, but I just can't find it anywhere!
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks
never heard of it, but it sure will be nice to have it
only twitter tab
Never seen such a tab and dont know how effective it would really be..

I think it would be awesomely effective. I don't use twitter but I can totally see the benefit of the tab. I'd like to check my friends' updates like I check my text messages. The integration with my contacts is excellent, but I'm left craving more interaction. I'm still a little surprised that this hasn't been implemented before now by the OEM directly.
Anyway, add my +1 to this request. Snoogans.
I must confirm, that the first HD2 divice I had, really integrated FB in manila tabs. The second which I bought from T-mobile (after sending the first back as the second was better "deal"), unfortunatelly did not. Nor have any WM upgrade such tab involved since then. So I am also wandering if it would be possible to find it at least officially. And as e.g. the TV can be integrated in Manila (which is result of XDA inventions, I think it must be possible to solve the problem otherwise as well.
Thanks for help too.

[Resolved] [Q] Transfer SMS from SIM to Phone in WM?

I've looked everywhere for the answer, but can't seem to find it.
I am having trouble copying text messages from my SIM-card to my phone memory.
Is there anyone who knows how to solve that issue? I am using an HTC Diamond with WM6.5.
Thanks a lot.
EC
Bump for visibility.

transfer messages to the phone
sent them to diamond via bt!!
Sorry for the lame solution, but there is no other way!

Great, but I cannot find the sim manager files, only ROMs containing it (dumping them would take a lot of time). Is there any way you could send it to me?
Thanks.

allright, here's quickmade cab of asussimmgr.
idd, there's option to copy sim msgs into device(and from device to card) there, hmm nice.
i am not sure, if it will work for HTC devices(i've added policy to cab that should allow that), but i think it should.
Thanks
Thanks pupakota
hope it helps others

Just downloaded and trying it out right now...
And YES, it works! I am very glad you guys helped me out!
Thanks a lot!
You can also use apps below to save the sms located on sim card & import to device.
Have done so on wm2003se wm5 wm6 wm6.1 & wm6.5 custom ROMs
i don't exactly know what you guys here are talking about...
but if its simply about copying a sms from the sim to the phone (as the title suggests) then i don't see how come no one's posted the most obvious solution i've used myself before...
just as background info to those who need to know- i'm running a com5 23569 self-cooked rom on my htc gene (p3400)
and i stumbled upon the solution to this problem you mentioned while going through one of the millions of flashes and restores we chefs go through...
all i did to copy the message onto the phone memory was open the msg to view it and then hit the left soft key to open the menu and the last option on the menu list simply reads 'copy to phone'...i tap on that and voila!! its done...
do let me know if it works coz i don't think it would be this simple and yet left untried by anyone else and requiring external apps to be installed for it to be done...

don't usually have to contend with too many messages myself...this only arises when i put my sim into a temp phone while the flashing process completes...and at worst i have 4-5 messages to contend with...
ppcpimbackup is my first pick too but i don't remember trying it out on sim messages...worth a shot though...
WOW plenty of options available! thank you guys.
@psychocyst : just saw your sig. loved it

You have the tmobile version, don't you? Tmobile removed the ereader app. You can flash just about any other international or custom rom to get the app.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but does anyone have the stock apk for the HTC Reader? Im running Pyramid and its not there (bloatware removed)
Much appreciated. Google is usually my friend but today I cannot seem to find an apk.
I actually need the "my shelf"? Widget
Regards,
Trip
EDIT: Pulled the myshelf_widget.apk from LeeDroid ROM and tried to install, but it keeps failing. Any ideas??
