JT just indicated that aside from the radio, he thinks the Charge is very similar to the Fascinate (on twitter).
I'd be willing to donating towards JT getting a charge. The work he did on getting CM7 on the Fascinate has been amazing.

+1. I'm nearly broke and didn't get a chance to donate to JT when I had a fascinate, but I'd toss in some beer money if he helps bring AOSP to the Charge.
It really does feel identical to the fascinate except for the 4G.
I seriously feel like I still have my old phone.

JT has stated adamantly that he doesn't want a Charge, plus he's busy with his Thunderbolt roms and Fascinate AOSP work afaik... however r2doesinc and t3h4xx0r are working on porting OMGB as previously mentioned
I definitely can't wait for AOSP to come to the Charge. I loved CM7 on my Fascinate. We will have it at some point, we may just have to be patient like we had to be with the Fascinate. It took us forever just to get Froyo.
I would also love to see aosp roms and would be willing to donte as well.

Jt has repeatedly said he has no interest in the charge and even shot down attempts fotlr donations towards one
Your best hope is the omgb guys but it will be extremely slow going I'd imagine
My bet would be the.sgs2 and HTC vigor launching before semi functional aosp comes out

So now that we have a phone for imnuts, Im wondering if we could get another fund going? If we could get another big developer....Adryenline...or chingy for example....we could get some great kernals/roms other than what we have. Whats do you guys think?

Very good kernal guys. Only reason I brought up Adrenylene is he does kernals AND roms. I just want to see if we can get enough interest.

while those guys are great i would recommend getting it to jt1134 or someone with samsung building experience....samsung source is a whole nother beast
and jt is really the father of all verizon samsung sgs kernels and source

adrynalyne has been one of the most significant contributors to the fascinate yes...i only said jt over him because adryn already works on the bolt, fascinate, and continuum currently and jt does most of the kernel/aosp development
but getting adryn a phone is always a smart move
I'm willing to donate to any dev who's wiling to work on aosp/cm7... Kejar said he is once he gets his Charge

I'd donate some money to Adryn or JT Both of these guys seem pretty busy though. (Adrynalyne has a lot going on over on the Tbolt side of things)

Jt is pretty much the father of all verizon sgs kernel work...as well as the primary for aosp
Count me in for donating to jt1134 as well. I think with imnuts and jt1134 we will have a solid duo to collaborate together.

I just picked up the charge today...coming from the original incredible...and had the thunderbolt for about 5 days....i'd be glad to support and donate for this cause.

Yes razor950 has already develop a kernel even though he has no Infuse 4g, I really don't know how this Guy did it but i may sure its a born talent. Don't waste time looking for one, razor950 is the man, ship it to him pronto

I can't speak for razor.. But I can't stand samsung's POS ui that crashes multiple times daily but love my infuse 4g. Some cyanogen goodness would be amazing

Has anyone heard anything about Liberty coming to our phones or whatever happened with Darkcharge? I know team gummy joined up with the liberty guys to bring liberty to our phones but haven't heard anything else about it. I can only assume that Darkcharge is no longer continuing development for us since it seemed to get bashed (for a lack of better words) upon release.

imnuts is working hard on Infinity, but he's somewhat of a perfectionist *and* he's having to redo his work on EP4, so it's slow to release. If you hang out in IRC, he apparently posts links to the latest beta build occasionally, though he forbids those builds from being distributed any father.

yup, imnuts is still around (just not on xda, rootz/irc only)...and its a slower go for infinity now since retrokidd went back to the iphone and got rid of his charge

source would affect kernels and aosp only...touchwiz based roms dont require it in any way

nope i just like to pop in on other vzw phones and post where i see fit
and i dont really make themes any more, just roms...and occasionally themes to go with those roms (inc2, fascinate)

personally im not upgrading soon (cant justify 300 bucks around the holidays)...but probably whatever big sammy/htc phone drops in late q1 or so
i *think* sbrissen, imnuts, and omj will get gnexus's though
That's the biggest peeve I have with phones today. A new phone drops, gets worlds of praise for 3 weeks (figuratively of course...or not?) And then something new gets released. It almost seems like the term "flagship" doesn't apply to smartphones.

I have the utmost respect for the developers. I understand that this isn't a popular phone, so any new rom is a blessing.
I had a feeling those guys would be more willing to come back once a finalized version of GB was released. It had to be frustrating when we were getting leaks every couple of weeks or so to try to stay current.
I welcome any new ROMs, but I heard talks that Kejar was going to work with the CM team to port CM7.. What happened to that =[ ?
I'm mainly interested in the fact that Wiimote apps work on CM7

kernel source means nothing to anyone but imoseyen amongst gummycharged/liberty and he doesnt just make kernels for them, he posts them for all
id imagine liberty for the charge will just be updated gummy stuff because a lot of what is in liberty is for moto phones...will there be new stuff? sure...but it wont be identical

Thanks. I haven't followed what's been going on with Liberty and am still using Gummy FE. I think my phone runs great and I really like Voodoo Sound while playing Pandora in the car. I don't want to upgrade to GB until IMoseyOn has a nicely developed GB kernel, based on source. After that, the ROMs will fall in line. That's my thought at least.
Since I'm happy with Gummy FE, I assume that Liberty will be my go-to ROM. Having said that, I have no experience with Humble or Infinity, but I've heard good things about both. In the end, I use DroidBlaze's MinimalGummy theme and really like it. I'll probably wind up on Liberty since he's only been creating themes for Gummy and hasn't themed for Humble or Infinity (to my knowledge).

What is this Motorola crap you're talking about? Blur related?
Blur is the style of framework Motorola used for their phone. As far as I know. Liberty would be sweet. It was great on the X.

Looks like imnuts and jt are putting their heads together to get ICS kernel to boot on Charge.
I pledge $20 as soon as a working ICS rom is out. Please support their work.
Not impressed with GNEX. I plan to stay on my Charge for a while.
Update 2/14/12: I'm not holding my breath for ICS on Charge anymore. Looks like Samsung is holding back some critical pieces. If I had time, I'd work on it myself. Since I don't, I have no right to complain. Those of you who are interested in tracking progress, please follow the link below:

This is great news since I just got a used charge. So far not as good 4G reception as my girlfriends Bionic but it has a nicer screen and interface IMO. I look forward to possibly overclocking this thing a little too?

Btw on rootzwiki there are sometimes different things and tid bits of info.... Too the op if you really are already behind it, meaning ics, just donate because the work the devs put it including themers, testers, rom developers,and tweakers is worth it even if we don't get it... I donate sparingly because I'm currently unemployed and somewhat frugal when it comes to giving free money, but his work and others has inspired me to do things myself, like theming... It's not for everyone as any aspect it's time consuming like people wouldn't believe, but it's satisfying... Time = $$$$$ so if you want to maybe push him along and show him the charge is worth his time and others drop a donation.... Don't say well if you do this, when almost every dev for android is worth more than just a few empty promises of donations.... Just donate and they will provide you with information, help, tweaks, colorful and some not so colorful themes, and roms for your pleasure.... I'm sure they get slack for the time put on by there irl friends and family ad I just started and Im already getting it.... So again just donate.... Empty promises never inspired anyone...

Can you please let us know how is the rom working?
Home button and camera doesn't work on the ICS build. It APPEARS much faster than 2.3.5 (a lot less stuttering for me but I wasn't playing with any special builds there....)
the installer.zip auto reformats you to ext4.
It shows extreme promise for an alpha build IMHO.
