Hi!
My sister got yesterday a new Samsung galaxy mini. Everything was OK but it was locked to a different mobile operator than she uses.
So, I was dumb enough to think that I could unlock it!
I rooted the mini and it was fine. After that I installed "Galaxy_S Unlock" by Helroz from the market.
The app failed to save the EFS folder and I got a message about a problem with BusyBox, so I installed it but it still failed.
I gave up on that and found this method on the web:
h t t p:// imransarwar.com/index.php/how-to-unlock-galaxy-ace-galaxy-gio-galaxy-mini-for-free/
I inserted the micro SD card and copied that APK and installed it. I ran the app and it gave me 4 codes, 3 of witch were 00000000.
I copied the fourth code.
I thought it worked and was going to insert the SIM card but first I deleted the APK from the SD card and the folder that was on it.
After that I powered off the phone and inserted the SIM but the phone didn't start.
The screen was flickering and frozen showing only the first Samsung logo.
I tried it without the SIM and it was the same.
The phone can be in download mode and the screen doesn't flicker.
Then I used Odin and tried tried to install an EU galaxy mini Stock ROM from this site:
h t t p:/ /droidangel.blogspot.com/2011/05/samsung-galaxy-mini-s5570-original.html
Odin gave me a PASS but the phone was stuck while rebooting and the screen flickered.
Please help me if you can! Do you think I've bricked it? Could it be a screen or battery issue??

Sorry to hear that, you can find some help here The last thing you should do: bring your phone back to the Samsung service centre if you had the warranty.
Update: I found another fresh topic here
same problem here.. no error when flashing.. when the phone should reboot.. the screen keeps flickering.. on and off... tried several firmwares...
Same thing here. I tried to root my Sprint 7" galaxy tab based on information from users that it worked great and I am getting a Samsung logo and then a reboot in a continuous cycle. I read a post from user tpike that he has stock roms to unroot your device. Problem is that I am a noob and can't reply to his post. I need help fast if anyone can provide a solution. I have to have my tab working for my job.

I tried another site. See this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161033
I downloaded this and followed the instructions and it rooted my tab and brought it back to life. I was so happy. I think the error I made when I started this was that I did not check USB Debugging when I started the first root. Can't be sure but that may have been the problem. Anyway, it came back to life. Give it a try.

Hello everyone, and thanks for taking the time to attempt to help me.
Earlier today, my T-Mobile Galaxy S5 updated to 5.1.1. I searched google and came across a few links on how to root my phone (G900T) - The one I ended up using was CF-AutoRoot
I used Odin 3.07, used the tar5 file from that site above where I downloaded the root, and attempted to root the phone. Odin says everything worked as planned ''passed'' was displayed with 0 fails. I waited about 20 minutes, but my phone never rebooted, it was stuck in a boot logo loop ' 'Samsung Galaxy S5 powered by Android'' or ''T-Mobile'' was displayed.
I tried going into recovery and reseting all data / factory wipe but that didn't help, and made it even worse. Now my phone says this when I try to turn it on: ''Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again''
How do I go about getting back to stock firmware , that is rootable, so I can then proceed to install CyanogenMod?
EDIT: I used Kies and was able to get back to stock firmware and the phone turns on.
Can anyone recommend a reliable root for the G900T S5?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
It's good to hear that you managed to revive your phone. Many of us find it convenient to install a custom recovery such as TWRP which makes backing up and restoring, switching ROMs, and many such activities much easier. XDA happens to have an active and friendly area dedicated to the Samsung Galaxy S5, and specifically to the T-Mobile version at http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5. I suggest you search that area or simply post your question in the Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/help where our experts will be most likely to be able to guide you.

First of all i want to say two things:
1. This thread was opened after reading 179 similar threads and browsed all 260 pages of q&a answers
on the galaxy tab 2 and other several threads on Samsung products with similar symptoms.
2. Thank you in advance to however is able to resolve this issues, not only for me, but for several others.
the section is full of similar problems with no answer whatsoever.
The story:
My Samsung p5110 WiFi only (stock firmware), started to restart randomly and at one point froze at the Samsung logo.
I was able to enter in download mode, and with odin i "managed" to load the firmware for p5100.
And that was the mistake. at restart started to display: “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.
Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again“. But kies does not connect and recognize the device at all.
so out of the question to salvage the device in that mode.
Odin still recognizes the device, so i was able to load several stock firmwares:
P5110XXBLH4_P5110OXXBLH3_HOME.tar.md5
P5110XWALD4_P5110OXXALD5_HOME.tar.md5
P5110XXDNB1_P5110COADNB1_HOME.tar.md5
everything goes ok, it says pass, but there is no restarting, the screen goes black. when i turn it on
the same thing: "firmware upgrade.....
Tried to load CWM and TWRP recovery in order to delete everything in the device, installed ok but
no effect, it is not launching, only: "firmware upgrade....
I want to point out that USB mode was to enabled do to the fact that the tablet broke so it was not
planned, i have uninstalled kies and installed the samsung and omap drivers now, same results, and tried
all the usb ports.
I am running out of ideas and other suggestion i haven't found on this site up until now, so any
constructive help and comments will be welcomed by me and more than likely by the others in
my situation.
use odin in this way

well i had the same problem with my GT-P3113
there is one way i know to solve this which worked for me.
1. flash TWRP/CWM
a)first make sure that you find the rooted md5 firmware for your device.
[this is my 5th post so i cannot add links. so you can always search in xda for other threads regarding your device's rooted md5 so that you can flash using odin.]
b)now flash the rooted md5 using odin
c) flash TWRP/CWM Using odin(i would prefer CWM)
d)then downlaod a custom rom for your device and place it in your sd card.
e)flash it using your recovery
f)now try rebooting and you should go into the new rom
g)now check usb debugging in the settings>about device>touch on build number 7 times>you will see developer options>check usb debugging.
h)now try flashing the original stock firmware using odin
CONGRATS YOU HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF YOUR DEVICE
NOTE:if you still have any problem with booting or if you are stuck in the boot logo try going to recovery and do a factory reset.
if still you have any questions let me know.
Similar problem but odin doesn't recognise device
Hello guys. I have big issue with this. I tried also flashing from sd new cwm since its factory but it start process and than say signature verification failed. Trying also different roms but no success. I can not do basically anything. Even for sdk tool computer must recognise device (I do have drivers and they work with all other devices ) and still it doesn't recognise. I am out of options. Please help?

If this didnt work out you can flash a custom rom through cwm.
Here try this rom.

If still any problem persists pls send me a message.
Been running Carhd Rom for a while now with zero problems.
Last night, my battery was down to about 15% so I turned off the phone, until I went upstairs a couple hours later to put it on charge.
Problem is, phone did not restart as normal...instead a message in red came up.
Something like:
"Custom Binary (RECOVERY) Blocked by FRP Lock."
I've tried to flash stock firmware for my UK Vodafone S8 Plus, but then I get this error message:
"Error!
Device does not have DRK, please install DrK first.
Press any button."
Can someone please help me out, ive been trying literally all night and can't find a solution.
really really would appreciate some help here.
cheers
Matt
Also, if I try to flash TWRP using Odin....it says "blocked by FRP Lock.
anyone?
please help.

Try this, it might get "SmartSwitch"going!
1. Completely uninstall (with temp file) Smart Switch.
2. Uninstall Samsung USB driver for mobile phones.
3. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package
4. Install the latest SmartSwitch.
Good luck.
cheers mate...i've done that and smartswitch installed, but i'm stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S8+ Boot screen with purple writing in top left, which says...
"NAD: Passed
NAD ACAT: Passed
APMB Provisioned"
Any ideas?

I've downloaded the correct stock firmware and flash it through Odin and all installs ok, but when phone reboots it says the following...

sending it tosamsung for repair tomoro
Took my phone into Samsung store today, they looked at it and basically said, warranty void - only way to fix it is to fit a brand new board!
getting it back Tuesday, but costing me £250 ! ! ! !
Matt.
reactivation lock is on
Can't get any other details as phone won't start up properly.
My mum got a new phone so is giving her old s6 to my little brother. I did a factory reset and couldn't log back in with my mum's Samsung account, so we changed her password and tried to log in after reset and it's just not working.
I tried smart switch emergency recovery but it just said device not recognised.
I tried to flash the original stock firware amd the latest stock firmware and and latest stock firmware and it never worked.
I tried with different cables and an original Samsung cable and still to no avail. Odin fails on "complete write operation failed"
I am at a loss as what to do now as the phone now says "an error occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software"
But I have tried and it says device not recognised!
I feel I've run out of options now any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced for any help I receive.
Have a good day everyone
Someone must have a suggestion? Please
well...
try flashing a pit file for that particular model...
make sure its the correct rom for that model
try emergency recovery in kies...

You can do it. You absolutely need to find the right stock ROM for it and it will work. I was stuck in this situation about a month ago, it's all about getting the right ROM

What carrier is it through? And make sure you download Odin 3.12.7, it's not the newest version of Odin but seems to be the most stable
