I've been finding myself in many situations where I would love to use my camera in dark/dim places while on a phone call, however, I get a message saying:
"flash light is disabled because of low battery power, cold weather, or phone call."
I tried using an app called LED Desire to take pictures, but it will just shut off during the snapshot. However, it does work well with the video camera on call or off call (pretty nice).
Is there a way to have the flash light work for the camera during phone calls?

Download LED Light from the market. Works greats for the camera and video

it is designated app to flash LEDs when sms and calls come in even in vibe or silent.
Thanks for the replies, but like led desire, led light does the same thing when taking pictures while on the phone.... the light just forcefully shuts off after snapping a pic causing a black pic. Haha and yes I talk a lot and like to share my surroundings while on phone

I got something that might help download led light from the app store put the widget on your scene screen then click it before you go to camera viola light no flash but Light should help in dark places

Is anyone having problems with the camera app being blacked out when trying to use it? This latest time I experienced this I tried another camera app and it was also all black when I tried to use it, but previously I was able to use the other camera apk while the stock one didn't show anything /:
Just to clarify what I mean by blacked out is that it looks like someone is holding their finger over the lens when trying to take a picture.
Usually a reboot solves the proble, but that's kind of annoying plus my phone tends to resend messages after a reboot for some reason.
I have noticed that the camera doesn't work while media scanner is running. This has happened to me a few times.

The camera in both of these ROMs stop working after a while. With AOKP, the front camera was inverted and the camcorder didn't work (as shown in the bugs list) while in BlindICE v12 everything was working fine for a while until suddenly the camera stopped working. It won't boot and just says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped." Please post a fix for the app in these ROMs as I use the camera in my phone quite often.-

No a reboot doesn't fix the issue.
In milestone 6 from tectas I have tried the camera once and it worked... but today I wanted to launch it but I got an FC.
In the buglist that is noted, so it's not a big surprise.
Fair enough, have you tried a third party app, like Camera ZOOM FX?

I'm running BlindICE v12 right now and I used Google Goggles to check if the camera worked through that; it came in a two-window view with distortions and everything so I closed the app. I tried the camera twice and it started working. The front camera's inversion seems to be acting differently than the one faced with AOKP and the photos appear upside-down while the viewfinder shows them as straight. Very weird trouble, hope it gets fixed soon.

I haven't tried a camera app, but DroidShooting was working without any problems this morning after the download... After playing I was launching the camera app and it worked perfectly, except the camcorder. It didn't start taping.
So the camera is working, just not all the time. For me that's not a big deal, because normally I'm not using the camera anyway

Edit: I was opening the camera app a few times and it always worked, also after a reboot it was working immediately. So it looks like using a third party app once is solving the camera problem, but not the camcorder. The camcorder is still not taping.
My screen auto rotate has stopped working. I've checked its set to auto rotate and it rotates ok when using the camera. It just refuses to rotate photos in gallery or when using the web browser. I suspect a corrupted file, any ideas?

Noticed in cm11 that when I take photos in the dark it uses flash to focus when I first boot which is normal but any time after using the torch app the flash no longer comes on to focus and will only flash with the photo resulting in terrible night shots and white washed out photos? Everyone else experiencing this as well?

What happens, if you go to your recent apps button, is Torch still there?
So scenarios to test.
Fresh boot, Camera, do photos flash?
Fresh boot, Torch, Camera, do photos flash?
Fresh boot, Torch, Recent Apps closing Torch, do photos flash?
Additional, repeat the above but do you actually have to only open Torch, or open Torch and switch on the LED to use as a flashlight and then switch off the LED.
If you run through those tests that would help determine if Torch is the issue.
Fresh boot camera works perfectly normal
Fresh boot torch open toggled on/off camera will not use flash to focus but only during the actual shot.
Fresh boot then closed in recents im gonna flash back to cm11 now to test.

Same results after clearing from recents.....no matter the circumstances if the led is toggled on in torch at all focus flash breaks until I reboot
