The root explorer seems to be the problem but it gets even worse with the google maps update the phone gets hunged occasionally but since its a manual update its advisable to not use the google maps update at any cost by the way the roms snappy cheers man !!!!!

Old Explorer not working.
Don't know Why?
But New version working.
Google map problem occurred in stock rom also.
But i will try to include a new version to my rom.
Thanks.

Does it support apptosd or linktosd??
Please specify as I think only 2.2+ support apptosd.
And the rom u hve posted is 2.1 only....
Sent from my Micromax A60 using XDA App

It fully support App2Sd.
You can see here /system/sd
In 2.2 it supported by official.
It is custom script to make it work on Eclair.

Plz help in installing the rom
I followed the instruction you have mention but still I am not able to install the rom in my Micromax A60
THe following are the steps I have done:
1. installed the Partition Wizard and Created two partition one of (512 Mb) as Ext3 and rest of Sd card Memory of Fat32 .
2. Downloaded the rom's zip file("cybrom.zip") and copied into root of Sd card. Since in recovery mode only update.zip is used, I renamed your file as "update.zip"(not sure abt this step, was just try and error method from me)
3. restarted phone in recovery and selected Wipe data and Factory Reset.
4. Then selected "apply sdcard:update.zip" and it gives following error:
E: signature verification failed.
Installation aborted.
E: Can't find MISC:
Please help me in installing the rom.
Thank in advance.
jugal

I think you are using stock recovery.
You can get custom recovery from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013698
After installed the custom recovery,try this rom

Thank s ameshalex and svprm,
I had successfully replaced the rom but seems few issues.
The icons,menus and the theme are much better than the default. You ppl are too good. From past 4 months I was searching for this and i got it now..
As stated the folowing are issues / questions.
1. the root explorer isn't working, its says force close.
2. I didnt see these features that u stated:
a. App2sd
b. Zip Align
c. BusyBox (What is this, and whats the use of it)

Yes it does not use apptosd directly
But it uses the ext3 par to store apps like link2sd
But it does so without link2sd app.
Sent from my Micromax A60 using XDA App

@jugal
Zipalign to Optimize the apks.
App2sd- Installing apps will install on sd card.
BusyBox Some important application need Busybox like Titanium Backup.
@salsreloded
In link2sd,you have to link each file.
But it not necessary in app2sd.

Old Root Explorer is not working.
New Explorer working like charm.

I couldn't install vital player and cut the rope game. if I wants to install in internal memory how can I do that. ? please help. but u did a great job man I realy like that. mod it more fix bugs. thanks again.

Custom ROM
this ROM is great !!!!!
yeah the root explorer not working (force close) so i removed it completely by titanium backup app.
and installed File Manager from android market.
but the email client is also encountering problem like in stock ROM i used to get earlier, but Gmail client is working fine.
and one more thing which i would not call a bug but still wanna inform you that while setting alarm when we type the time we have a "+" and a "-" button there up and down respectively, but there the "+" "plus" sign is looking a bit untidy as from original.
there's no problem regarding that, but still thought to inform you.
and is the wallpaper included in the screenshot also there somewhere in package, because i was unable to find that wallpaper.
BTW that shutting down and starting up image is stupendous!!!!
anyways Thanks for the great Work man!!!!!

hi guys today I extract the zip and I replace the launcher. apk to luncher pro and rootexpoorer to new virson . and now it's work smoothly. after I flash the rom I apply theme v2 now restart problem over. its work well. . try it. gr8 work maan. .. coool.
and above post problem "alarm menu + mark problem also solve if u flash theme v2 after flashing rom
and pls somebody tell how to install to phone memory ? can I choose what driver to install the app?

Problem 1:
~~~~~~
Feature 1:[ App2sd - No more "Not enough space on phone"] fails..
When I tried to install a app, the installation was failed with Error: "Insufficient internal Storage". YOur feature fails.. I dont know how u said it support.
More over I used to have more apps than I have after installing your ROM but still it used to allow me to install.
The following were the apps That I used to have on original Stock(apart from what given by micromax by default):
1. Barcode Scanner
2. FriendCaster[for Facebook]
3. Nimbuzz
4. Angry bird.
5. MyMusicOn
6. Adobe PDF reader
7. talking tom
8. Talking baby
9. Toss it
10. CNN app
11. handcent SMS
12. Shake Flashlight
13. Zoner Antivirus
14. Wifi Keep Alive
And Following are the apps that I have now after installing your ROM[apart from what was stocked with ur ROM]:
1. Barcode Scanner
2. FriendCaster for Facebook
3. IMO[1.73kb] (which is much smaller in size than NImbuzz which is around 12-14mb)
4. google +
5. talking tom
6. Talking baby
7. Toss it
8. Shake Flashlight
9. Zoner Antivirus
10. Wifi Keep Alive
Even after not having the following apps why it says "Insufficient Memory"
(a) Angry bird [18mb];(b) MyMusicOn [488kb]; (c) Adobe PDF reader;(d) CNN app;(e)handcent SMS and using IMO instead of NImbuzz, which is much much smaller in size than Nimbuzz
ALso be clear is it app2sd or link2sd, as link2sd is much different than app2sd.. and whats use of creating a separate ext3 partition on SDCard when none works.
Problem 2:
~~~~~~
Frequenly it gives notification that "sdcard is removed" and tries to mount it back again.. Why this happens?
If i like to restore my phone to Micromax's default stock and recovery, how can I do that.As After a week of struggle with memory issues and instability, I am planning to use old stock which is I assuming is better thn the ROM here(atleast in space if not in UI and theme)

After 7amdoun's successful finish on fixing bootmenu bugs, I proudly present the easiest way to have bootmenu on these phones.
First of all check out that you have all the things required :
1. A Motorola XT530/XT531 or XT532.
2. Must be rooted.
3. If you don't know how to root. Check out here [Thanks to 008Rohit]
4. A PC.
If you are done with above things you can proceed further.
There are two ways to get bootmenu on your device
First
Steps are very simple :
1. Just download "Bootmenu_v2.0.2.zip" and extract it.
2. Double Click "Bootmenu Installer.bat"
3. And follow the onscreen instructions.
Second:
[Special thanks to andrewidya for making the .apk]
Either refer to the installation video made by andrewidya
OR
This is easier way, you ought to have busybox installed:
1. Download the "Recovery Installer_1.0.apk" file from the attachment.
2. Install it on your phone.
3. Open "Recovery Installer" from App drawer
4. Tap "Install Recovery"
5. You've CWM installed.
You are DONE
Congratulations, You are now having Custom Recovery in your phone.

Turn Off your phone.
Switch on the phone. While you see the "M" logo the soft buttons leds will light up.
Be quick enough to press the Volume down(-) button as you see the leds being lighted.

Here's a slightly improved bootmenu (with one important variable fix for the XT530).
Try selecting 2nd-init in bootmenu and tell me what happens.
BTW, are you able to unmount /system partition once you load CWM?

There is a manual option somewhere in CWM to unmount /system. Try it and see if it works.
Also, using the new bootmenu I uploaded, try selecting 2ni-init and see if phone boots normally (without ADB).

BTW, andrewidya figured out how to get the normal OS to boot without ADB , he needs some time.
And he is building installer script for bootmenu
Edit : Why people are not able to boot in bootmenu? Have I done something wrong?

Hey Guys
All your wait is over.
Here I'll tell you how to get CWM for Moto Fire XT.
Disclaimer : I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone. I have tried it and finished successfully.
Try only if you know little bit about android.
Required things
1. Rooted Fire XT
2. Pc
Download these things on your phone:
1. Terminal emulator
2. Busybox(Open it and install)
3. Root browser
4. Pimp my Rom
You can find all of them in the Play Store.
If you have done with it download the attachment.
Now main work.
It is not easy though but I think everyone can do it.
Steps:
1. Extract the attachment and copy it to your sdcard
2. Mount /system as RW.
3. Open Root Browser and copy bootmenu folder from sdcard/XT530 and paste it in /system.
4. Open /system/bin and locate to logwrapper
5. Rename it as logwrapper.bin
6. Open Terminal Emulator and type:
Code:
su
ln -s /system/bootmenu/binary/bootmenu /system/bin/logwrapper
sync
exit
exit
7. Open Pimp My Rom and Add universal init.d support.
8. Copy /sdcard/XT530/97bootmenu and paste it in /system/etc/init.d .
9. Change permissions of 97bootmenu to rwx r-- r--
10 . Reboot your phone.
Now your phone will start at bootmenu.
Select Recovery>Custom Recovery
PS: If you want to get back the phone to boot normally. Just connect it to PC, open CMD and type
cd path-to-adb.exe
adb shell
rm -R /system/etc/init.d/97bootmenu
exit
adb reboot
I succeeded here's the video:

Ok everybody I think 97bootmenu is the problem.
Solution :
Create 97bootmenu manually.
Steps:
1.Open /system/etc/init.d
2. Create a file, name it 97bootmenu.
3. Open the file as text
Type:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
stop
exec /system/bootmenu/binary/bootmenu
4. repair permissions.
5. Restart your phone and tell me the situation.
how!?
i tried ... same situation. .

Okk I will figure out what's the problem?
And will release it correctly soon.
CONFIRMED WORKING ON XT535 currently backing up Via CWM. Backup complete. Problems are: have no backlight in CWM. when scrolling down with the volume keys the text moves across to the middle. Many thanks guys! info: /system/ is not manually unmountable in CWM, and selecting 2nd init on recovery, the phone hangs at the boot. Be sure to check correct permissions mine didnt work the first time because of perms on 97bootmenu

How to Change Bootanimation.
STILL DWYOR
Update: Video tutorial by Mr. Keiven Adrian Docos Busita. Watch it Here. Thanks Keiven.
First of all I will start this thread at changing the bootanimation since it's this thread's first purpose. Rooting, build.prop, init.d, scripts are to follow if ever i feel like adding them. Rooting on the other hand will be added for sure because we need a rooted device to change bootanimation.
Requirements:
1. Cherry Mobule Burst/Lava Xolo A500 (Duh!)
2. Root permission (Guide on rooting at OP)
3. Root Explorer
4. Good Understanding.
Procedures:
Step 1
Install Root Explorer an open it.

Step 2
Browse for /system folder, open it up and browse for /media folder open that up too and you should find:
/audio
/video
bootanimation.zip
shutdownanimation.zip
turnoff.mp3 (not sure what's its real name, I forgot, I deleted mine)
turnon.mp3 (not sure what's its real name, I forgot, I deleted mine)
Step 3
Download custom bootanimation you want, any size will fit.
Step 4
Delete(not recommended) or backup(recommended) your stock bootanimation.zip to your PC or micro sd, and copy your downloaded bootanimation.zip to that folder (/system/media).
Note: You can also delete the shutdownanimation.zip to skip shutdown animation.
Step 5
Reboot and Enjoy.
Note: The "BURST" that comes out during turn on cannot be replaced because it's a bootsplash and can only be tweaked inside boot.img which is where our kernel lies. Custom ROM is the only way to replace that. If someone have already replaced that, you can freely share it here.
General Note: If root explorer displays this: "bootanimation.zip cannot be moved/deleted because the file system is read-only." tick first the [Mount R/W] Button on the upper right until it becomes [Mount R/O].

Procedure of installing, same as AndroTronic but without the fix.
NOTE: need the cherry burst boot.img to work, replace first before installing. I'll elaborate the procedure later.

It's working just fine sir, everyone on our facebook pages are already using it.
Very Useful
Did you modify anything to work properly
Cuz as far as I can see, it works only with the sdcard
it cannot see the emmc and one more partition.
The partition table is a bit different
I corrected and am using it.
Well if you did, well n good

Installing Custom Rom.
DWYOR.
AndroTronic Credits to Mr. Jov1N. Original thread HERE.
Need CWM.
1. Download rom located at the original thread. I won't be mirroring the download to respect the creator.
2. Download THIS. <~~~ it's a fix for lcd density and boot.img, for the rom to fully work on our device.
3. copy both files on your SD card.
4. Enter CWM by pressing vol.down+power button simultaneously. The phone must first be off (duh!)
5. Wipe Data. (Important!)
6. Install the rom.
7. Install the fix.
8. Reboot and enjoy.
NOTE: I'll be providing a slightly slimmed version of the rom for better responsiveness and with the fix already in it.

Kank, as you can see we now have english cwm, but the table is still messed up, how'd you managed to fix yours?
Well sorry for the extremely late reply
Been out of station and will again soon
well i have flashed the CWM, the latest one, and its perfect.
Before flashing I even checked the partition table and its perfect.
Nothing needs to be changed.
Only thing, emmc support is not there in this one, but otherwise its perfect.
BTW I am talking abt the XOLO A500 not the CM Burst
CM Burst has a slight different partiton
When you flash the cwm select reboot system now
It'll say the system may flash back stock recovery . Do you want to prevent this from happening select yes

EDIT: Nevermind, flashtool did worked at the end.
In which way I need to connect my device (soft brick)? Fastboot or flash mode in order to transfer files from my sd card to the pc?
I'm stuck at the fota cmw recovery, the mount sd card is not working and I don't really know what to do anymore. (Flashtool dosen't work either)
A guy with my same problem fixed it with your tool but I don't really get it. How did he managed to flash a recovery from the begin with? I'm super confused
"Yes, I just fixed my problem yesterday after some serious trial-and-error.
1) Use the All-in-One-Kit and flash your recovery back to stock
2) Boot into the bootloader and choose to "clear storage" and afterwards to reset to factory defaults.
3) Go back to the all-in-one-kit and flash a CWM recovery version again.
4) Reboot into recovery (CWM). Your /sdcard should now be mounted and visible.
5) Now, try the UTB rom (it worked for me), rename the zip file to something short (i.e. utb.zip), and push it to the sdcard using adb as follows:
Code:
adb push utb.zip /sdcard
6) While still in CWM, flash the zip.
The trick here is that only the stock recovery is capable of restoring access to the sdcard by it's proprietary "clear storage" option."
Nice program, if you get java run time error, just rename program extension from exe to jar.
also to dev, please add some kind of little window to view output from adb, when i am pulling files its stucking somewhere.
Sorry aditya, but I got an error launching the app,
It said "Could not find the main class : androidallinonetoolkit. Program will exit
What went wrong? Could u help ?
Update the program.
Delete pattern/pin/password is not working.
Device: G900F - 5.0 Official Lollipop
Thanks!!! It worked
How can i pull all data with this application instead of individual paths?

Tecno Phantom A3 Mods; Rooting, CWM Recovery, Low Apps Memory

Tecno Phantom A3 is the new phablet released to the Nigerian Market by Tecno. It is a well specced Chinese android phone. Having acquired this phone, I noticed a lack of basic mods to the phone, so I went about helping myself. Following are the results of my research.
1. Rooting
Please use cydia impactor http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/ to root the phone. It is easy and quick. After using cydia impactor, complete the routing with CF SuperSu. This is available in the play market.
2. CWM Recovery
You need a rooted phone to install this recovery.
After rooting, install mtk mobileuncle from the play market, then use it to update your recovery using the attached recovery image.
3. One major problem I noted earlier on with the phone is the small application memory. If you install many apps like me, your phone will soon telling you of low application memory. The solution below should banish that completely.
After these 3 mods you can really enjoy this great phone.
If I have helped you, don't post a thank you, just press the thanks button.
Follow up on Tecno M9
Dear Abbas,
I would also like to suggest [ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk to root some devices
Check it out on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276 and after installing the apk, choose the 3rd option.
After a restart the phone will automatically download SuperSU from the playstore.
Please advise method of fixing the small application memory.
Thanks

Out of 16 GB tecno has forced us to use 1GB only for apps, unfortuanetly there is no way to increase this partition but you can transfer apps to sd card instead, for some apps that are not allowed to be sent to sd by default, you can use tinanium backup (free on play store) for ROOTED devices, with this you can force them to stuff into sd card it wont transfer the entire app, but will transfer upto 60-95% of the app's space to sd card. Enjoy :laugh:, hit thanks if it helped

You mean the memory low solution? Yes, it is applicable to most of the android phones, including samsung, Sony, micromax, almost anything running jelly bean
If u mean the vroot?
I'm not sure if of compatibility but you can give it a shot, if it's not compatible, it won't let u root it, so you stand harmless.
Any where to get compatible ROM for this Tecno Phantom A3?
Also how would I update recovery image with the one posted earlier?
After installing adb driver for Tecno A3, I saw the attached picture. Does it mean A3 is much like HTC?
Now that I have install Custom Recovery with Easy Magic Recovery tool, I need any compatible ROM.
For information Tecno Phantom A3 is a MT-6589 device.

Can anyone please explain more in detail about how to use the .img file?

Hello, Are there any Android Kitkat Roms available for the Phantom A3?. I really need it thanks.
A more detailed Solution
Here's a much more comprehensive and detailed solution to solving the problem.
There is absolutely no way you can increase the size of your phone’s internal storage but you can allocate some part of your memory card for your phone to install applications to.
What you will need
Steps to increasing your android internal memory
Step 1: Backing up your memory card:
before attempting this, make sure you have backed up all the files and folders on your memory card to your computer by easily coping the whole memory card and pasting into a folder on your computer.
Step 2: Partitioning your memory card:
connect your memory card to your computer using a memory card reader (dont use a phone and USB cable) and take note of the letter assigned to it by your computer on my computer page example (F, (D etc .
Open the installed MiniTool on your computer.
Right click on your memory card letter (example D:, F and click delete.
Now you will see the memory card showing unallocated space, right click on it again and select create as.
Select primary
If your memory card size is less than 2GB, select file system FAT. If it’s more than 2GB, select FAT32.
Now go down and reduce the size of your memory card on partition size so that there will be space on unallocated space (that will be your added memory, so you can choose any size you want)
Now, choose the unallocated space again and select Create as -> Primary
Now, choose EXT2 file system. You can let the whole space take over in this step.
Now click ok and click apply on the top menu.
Wait for it to finish and you have successfully partitioned your memory card.
copy your data backed up on your computer back to the memory card and insert it into your phone and boot it
Step 3: Configuring Link2SD:
Now open Link2SD which you have downloaded from Google play store on your phone
Link2SD will ask you to select the file system of your second permission, choose ext2.
Now click okay, the phone will ask to get restarted, click oka so it will restart itself.
A dialogue box will come up after the restart click okay
Now their is a funnel-like icon on the top part click it you will see different options choose on internal (see picture below)
Link2SD
Now tap the option key below, and select multi-select, then press the select all button. All of these apps will be selected.
Now still on the option key choose action then click create link
Select the three options (link application file, link dalvic-cache file,link library files) then click ok
Link2SD will then move all those apps and games then create a link with them from the second partition of your SD card. Touch OK when done
Now you are done but to make sure this happens every single time you install an app you should goto settings from the menu and click on auto link and then select the three options again and ok….thats done
You have now free of the low memory issue with your phone.
Note: DO NOT convert core apps like android system, messeging, google play, gmail, camera, phone etc to user apps, Convert only those apps which also can be downloaded from google play, like Skype, Viber, Facebook, Twitter, talk , maps , Sound recorder and others.

Hi, immortal, thanks a ton for the guide. I managed to root my phone as well as remove most of the bloatware. A couple of questions, would be great if you could help me out with
1. In another thread you mentioned installing fly-on mode for some tweaks to make it run smoother. Would be great if you could help with a link or instructions. I tried googling but could only find ones that needed CWM recovery
2. The space for apps is only 800MB. I know link2sd allows you to allocate external sd card memory, but i was wondering if there is a way to increase the internal memory allocation itself for apps, since there is about 6GB or internal memory.
Would appreciate your help in this regard.

You can find fly-on mod here ....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226373
Since till now there is no cwm recovery the option to install this mod is manual installation .....
Follow the same folder structure create and paste files with the help of root explore its the best tool also don't forget to set permission as follows
All new folder 0755
Files inside init.d 0755
Files inside xbin and bin 0755
Rest all files 0644
I did this in same way ...now am almost fully customised with gesture supported android L keyboard
Face lock in lock screen option ..which all lava didn't provided us in stock ROM [emoji12]
Regarding internal space we need to do reparation once cwm recovery is done we can do this easily .....
At present I don't have Linux build environment so am not touching that part my net is dam slow
If any one is ready to setup build environment and compile custom recovery then contact me I will definitely guide you and help you to my best of knowledge ....
Further if you need anything just contact me ....never fear to brick your device i already wrote a unbricking guide which is working perfect ....(I have already bricked my device many times )

Thanks for the quick response. Apologies for so many questions, but i am not quite sure how to do it manually. I downloaded the zip "Signed_Fly-On_Mod™_sqlite_KK4.4.zip". I understand thats a flashable file, i tried to unzip it and i got the meta-inf and system folders. where exactly should i put these folders?
Also, i am currently using root browser, do you recommend root explorer (its a paid app right?) I did not understand the numbers you assigned to each folder, is that some kind of root permission that you give in root explorer?

You can safely ignore metainfo folder ...
Only need to paste contents of system folder ie contents inside system folder .....to system folder in your device
Simply contents of system folder to system folder of your device ( inside ticked folder in image )
Root explorer is most best root file manager for ever .... ?
Permissions please refer these images with value
0755
0644
I hope its clear now

I got them
Not sure if you have a locked bootloader, but you could try this command to find out
Command to boot into bootloader:adb reboot bootloader
Command to check bootloader status: fastboot oem device-info
Command to unlock bootloader: fastboot oem unlock
Command to check if recovery works without writing over your stock recovery: fastboot boot recovery.img
if it works then continue with next step
Command to flash cwm recovery: fastboot flash recovery magnum_recovery.img (on linux this has to be on home folder( or fastboot flash recovery C:\magnum_recovery.img on root folder of C:\ on Windows))
next step
Command to reboot: fastboot reboot
Try this CWM 6.0.5.1 and report back
To test recovery I recommend you install aroma file manger first. And post a picture of mounts here.

The answer to mounting extrnal sd card is on post 2 of philz, you need these repos here
https://github.com/PhilZ-cwm6/android_system_vold
https://github.com/PhilZ-cwm6/android_external_sepolicy
follow instructions for extra.fstab

twrp
Here is twrp 2.8.0.0.
If it's not loading the storage sdcard then I have to adjust the fstab or add flags to correct but without the device it's nearly impossible to figure what it's needed. Recovery logs would help.
Done for the night, will respond in the morning.
