just wondering if anyone else has experienced issues with their wifi re-connecting after waking up from standby since 'upgrading' to 2.3.4? Mine used to be flawless, but now regularly experiences problems where it wont connect for ages or i have to restart the wifi or reboot.
Mine too would take awhile before re-connecting.
How long is "ages" for you? I never had to reboot the phone, but I have resorted to restarting wifi.
Yeah..weird, I have the same issues. Thank goodness I'm not the only one. Seems to take the wifi a min to kick in coming from standby. And its greyed out once it comes on...so goto takes ANOTHER minute for it to turn green! What gives?
Hopefully, this new patch will solve these issues...fingers crossed!

'Ages' would probably be a minute or so? This morning i had to exit the browser and restart wifi to get it working again. Not a major hassle but a bummer considering it worked so well before!
My Nexus S has the wi-fi re-connect issue as well. It takes a while to connect, sometimes it's immediate and somtimes up to two minutes.

There's a patch?
Yeah Sprint is releasing an OTA fix July 11 that will make the phone have better 'signal acquisition'...we can only hope right?

Sorry if this has already been covered in another forum.
My wifi on the samsung mesmerize is not working properly, 3G works just fine. I try and go online from my wifi connection it says server problem, if I go to my wifi settings it says it's connected. Help would be much appreciated, I have a very fast internet and would like to take advantage of it, especially considering my psu just blew on the pc! I have pulled 10 mbs on this phone using wifi before. Haven't installed a new app that would prevent anything with the wifi that I'm aware of, just wiped my phone the other day, saturday actually. Again any help would be great.

We're going to need to know what you're currently running.
As far as I know, no one is having issues with Wi-fi on either 2.1 or 2.2
My wifi sometimes won't turn on and I have to reboot to fix it, try that?

Yea if that don't fix it try pulling the battery.
Although since the phone is telling you i'ts connected I'm now thinking this is probably app related...(which a reinstall or reflash may correct)
I also have wifi issues with my fascinate, running froyo. I turn wifi on, and it works until the phone sleeps. Then at some point (seem to be a different amount of time each time) I lose my connection to the net. It still says the wifi is connected (wifi symbol at the top). But if I attempt to use google talk, or pull up a web page I do not have access to the internet. If i turn wifi off, and then right back on, all is well (until the next time it sleeps).
There is an app called wifi keep alive. If i check all the options on that app it helps. I see the issue far less often, but it still happens, and using this app my battery life suffers a little.
i apologize if this has been addressed before, but i was unable to find any threads about this.
I've had my tf since day one and have not had any issues until now. ever since updating my tf, it will now power itself off while in standby mode. This has happened three times so far.
2nd, the wifi connection is now dropping while in standby and it will not reconnect unless i power down and back on.
has anyone else ran into any issues with this new update?
No issues with most recent update here, it fixed all minor issues I was having though.
No Issues So Far
No issue so far for me either. Things seem to be much stable and fast. Will continue to monitor it through.
Sleep of Death still a problem.

This has happened to me occasionally with the new update. I have 2 separate things that happen.
1. Wifi will be connected but I can't get out to the internet (its not the wifi router)
2. Wifi drops and when I go into settings wifi is turning off, but never actually turns off and is just grayed out. When this happens I have to reboot.
Since installing the OTA update this morning (I'm in the UK) my tablets been going into 'deep sleeps' a hell of a lot more often. I've had about 5 already today when it previously only happened once every few days.
Very frustrating.
Have a 16gb and no problems for me.
Updated to the latest firmware and still turning off when put on standby

Hi Everyone,
Really frustrated with one problem I'm having. This seems to happen with every ROM (I'm currently use leedroid). Basically, I have wifi at home. When I leave the house, I'm out of wifi range. Then the phone doesn't respond, I don't get calls, etc. This could be for 5 minutes or 50 minutes. I have to wait until until the phone connects to 3G before it becomes responsive. I can't receive any calls or sms during this time. Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks!!!

Sorry, never heard of that happening. If it happens with every rom and you have tried different radios... I would try un-rooting and going back to stock. If that fixes it, re run that hack it to get back to root. If not... I would definitely look to getting a replacement asap!

Hello everyone.
So, the wifi problem on my N5 goes back some time ago; it happened for the first time about 2 weeks after i got it, middle november i'd say:
i always keep my wifi connected while at home and sometimes it just refuses to send data anymore. The signal bar doesn't drop, but the data just stops working. I don't remember what i did the first time it happened, but it just started working as intented after a few days.(I was on 4.4.4 back then).
Now I'm on 5.0.1 and it had been working right for some time, until 2 days ago i unplugged my router then plugged it back it. Later that day I noticed the issue is back. I have absolutely no idea what to do about it and it is irritating as hell.
Did any of you guys experience this before? If so, how did you fix it?
Also, is it possible that this is a driver issue on the phone side? All my other devices work just fine on wireless.
Thanks!

you may also try forgetting your network and re-logging back in. also check the wifi frequency band and of course rebooting your router can’t hurt.

I tried all that but with no success. I think the router might be the issue since it does have some glitches where it loses connectivity and it fixes after a reboot. I'll try with another router and report after.

I have done a full factory reset on my phone due to this issue, and it still happens. It doesn't just happen at home either, it happens everywhere I go. I am assuming at this point that it is a bug in 5.0/5.0.1 and hopefully it will be fixed in 5.0.2 (if the N5 ever see's this update).
If anyone has had any luck with this bug, please let me know.
I'm having the same issues. I'm now on my 4th router in as many months and I can't figure this out after testing just about every possible configuration of channels, frequencies and settings. We have about 10 devices connected in my home and the Nexus 5 is the only device with this problem. I'm at the point now that I just use LTE at home.
Yeah it's a 5.0.1 issue, if you've found your way to XDA you should try a custom ROM. Most are branched from the aosp 5.0.2 commits.

Did Lollipop rid the wifi options of "wifi optimization" and "avoid poor connections?" I used to keep those options unchecked for a more stable wifi connection.

But I had this same problem on 4.4.4 for a little while, that's why I was inclined to think it was something to do with my router.
Ahhh okay, yeah it very well could be.
I just had to replace my logic board due to faulty wifi, I got the always 'WiFi turning on' bug.

That setting checkbox was missing in advanced wifi settings since 5.0 (and the option was forced to "on")
According to this post this has been fixed in 5.0.2:
I'm not sure if this is related to the latest update, but I've noticed my data connectivity becoming flaky over the past couple of weeks. It seems to hang onto H+ and when I lose data connectivity completely, it takes forever to reconnect.
Anyone else?

Yes I am. Any new updates on this? Mine tends to lose LTE and hang on to H+. A restart or a toggle of airplane mode fixes it but it's so annoying.
Glad I'm not alone. Knowing how long it takes Google to push out fixes for this type of bug, we might be waiting a while.
mine has been doing the same thing as well.
Looks like we're not alone.
