Want to speed up your Sensation? (Look here) - HTC Sensation

Those with touch screen responsiveness issues and lag problems should try this. In fact, everyone should. It sped up my and my wife's device about 25% and cured her touch screen issues.
Setting>About Phone>Tell HTC..........And turn that stupid **** off.

It should save some battery as well.

Wow. You're smoking crack if you think turning that off will do anything like you're describing. I tried it and didn't change anything. Placebo.

Damn, you are a genius. Turned it off and my lockscreen lagness is gone! You just saved my life.

I don't know if this sped up my Sensation but it did decrease battery usage and reduced my "ghost" data.

OK guys.. this isn't anything special.. I've done this since day 1, I still get lockscreen issues. Not a new "discovery" of any sort.

Just tried it and I must say it seems as if everything is much quicker and smoother and the lock screen seems much more consistent and easier to activate. thanks for the tip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems like 6 other people who say it helped are smoking crack too, uh? Don't tell me its a placebo affect when as soon as I did it, my keyboard is much more responsive. I used to have to double tap keys all the time but now my first and every tap is registering. Just because it does nothing for you, doesn't mean it didn't do anything for me know it all. I think I have a little bit more mobile knowledge than to be fooled by the placebo affect.

No **** its nothing special. I'm sure plenty of people have done it since day one. Im just sharing my experience by making a thread. If it helped me, I'm sure it will help others. It obviously wont help everyone since there is probably different causes for the screen lag.

Speaking of keybaords, I decided to try the gingerbread keyboard and man WHAT a huge improvement. Accuracy, layout, and the fact it has cursor arrows hidden under the space bar make this, IMO, handsdown a winner over the OEM HTC sensation keyboard.
OK, sorry for the hijack...

G2 to MT4G?

Has anyone made this switch? I love the G2, but I'm just not feeling the hardware keyboard. :/
I figure I can get a MT4G for the same price I can sell my G2 for, so it's a quick swap. What are the pros of the MT4G? Biggest drawbacks? I just really, really prefer the solid bar shape to the hinged G2.
Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
Just make sure you get the good screen other than that this phone is a beast.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I have both the g2 and the mytouch 4g I wasn't to hot for the keyboard myself it sits here collecting dust. I use it for games easier to play with hardware buttons. I don't regret my choice of getting the mytouch either.

I swapped and am loving the MT4G, but when I pick up the wife's G2, it still just feels like a better phone. All smartphones free this weekend from T-Mobile if you're serious.

If the seller via Craigslist or EBay is that serious about selling the phone they can check for you w/o root the phone. It's super simple to do.
Personally i have "bad screen" and it's not that different from a "good screen". My kid sister has a "good screen phone" and it's brighter, and the whites are whiter. thats about it.
Well,i haven't made a switch, but I did check them both out at the store, and I went with the glacier just cause I like how it looks. And I don't use qwerty, nor do I like touch sensitive buttons.

Faster processor, MUCH more RAM, larger screen, better feel to the device (IMHO), and FFC.
I've been toying with the idea of obtaining a MT4G instead, since I very, very rarely use the hardware keyboard anymore. Less than I thought I was going to.
Is T-Mo STILL having bad-screen units coming off their shelves to this day? You'd think that would not be an issue by now. What am I saying, of course it is, most people probably have no idea it's even a problem..

Sense 3.0

just saw this on the xda news.... any dev looking at this?
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/exclusive-htc-pyramid-photos/
I'm definitely a first day buyer. Regardless of what happens with AT&T, this phone is too good to pass up. Besides, we'll still get more than enough use out of it.
Now, it's either this or the G2X. I'm looking forward to this but I HOPE it comes out soon!
Oooooh....is the sense 3.0 going to maybe be open source or available in the sdk?

The G2X looks very appealing, but the Pyramid has a couple of things that the G2X does not - more RAM, bigger screen, and a better display resolution. Most importantly, it's made by HTC.
I am, however, very happy to see that T-Mo has finally stepped up its game in terms of high-end handsets. Unfortunately, in light of the impending AT&T buyout, it may be a bit too late in the game.
This phone would be perfect for me to use on wind! Me wants!

Personally, it feels cluttered. I feel like I'm browsing a website that has so many ads surrounding its content, except those "ads" are actually content. Yes, it is an improvement over the previous market, but it isn't very aesthetically appealing on those "home" type screens. The 2 column app screens, however, are wonderful. I am also experiencing a little bit of stuttering here and there, but that could be down to the software/hardware issues inherent in a stock Sensation.
Love it, but could be a bit quicker. I want the icons to be cached to my SD card so it loads faster...

But I think the first version was easier to use. Not the sensation stock one. This is a bit comfusing.
Does it not look kinda like Windows Phone 7 with all the tiles? It has that feel to it, and when swyping to the right and left for the paid/free apps and such.
That was my initial reaction.

Development

Well this day came alot sooner than it did with my htc glacier, development is all but dead, I'm not chasing any more phone hardware upgrades, that's what's good about an HTC phone as long as spec wise you can push it you can always load up the latest android sense version or port... And you got cm7/aosp also with HTC phones but you'll find it Damn near impossible to load a sense Rom on a aosp phone, not really sure what I made this thread for just to say the grass ain't always greener on the other side, stick with the sensation it is truely an amazing phone... Some devs have left, yes, but that's the nature of the beast. But that doesn't mean development is dead. It's slowed down a bit since there hasn't been any new leaks.

Its a great phone the screen does take up alot of juice though I get around 2-4 hours of screen on time right now I'm running cyanogenmod 7 alpha 10 (does not have an official build another downer) with Faux's latest 2.9 kernel. cpu clocked at 1700 mhz and gpu clocked above 300 mhz (every once in a while i check out trinity's kernel which also runs smooth too) its running damn smooth there is also alot of ice cream sandwich development but I'm waiting until the get everything working. If you like sense the have that too lol but in my opinion its the best phone right now on t mobile (the samsung galaxy s2 for t mobile has no roms as of right now). Easy to root using www.revolutionary.io you should definatly get it you wont turn back to anything else I'm in love with this phone as you can see
