Problem with audio cutting out during avi videos - HTC Sensation

I'm having an issue with audio just completely stopping while watching TV show episodes on the sensation. But when I watch blu-ray rips, its perfect. Anyone else experiencing sound issues while watching videos. (the shows are avi formats, and the site says that the sensation supports avi)

[Q] Question about movie format

I just have a quick question on movie formats and such for phones. As I've been reading for months, the HTC Sensation 4G is supposed to have a screen that is 16:9, which eliminates the need for the "black bars" in movies.
However, I've put two movies on the phone and both of them had the black bars, but played flawlessly. I was just wondering what I was doing wrong. Does the movie have to be a specific format to fit the phone perfectly (without just stretching it out to fit on the video player itself).
Maybe your movie itself has the black bars?

It depends on the aspect ratio of the movie you are watching. Many films are 2.39:1 and so you will have black bars. Some 1.85:1 films will fill the screen depending on how they were issued. All HD TV content is 16:9 and will fill the screen.

I have an issue with playing a movie on the Sensation...
Movie is in Real Media format.
During playback, it was slightly laggy...
Also after playing for a while, it quits itself.
No force close msg or watsoever just out of the movie.
Tried several players still the same.
Movie plays fine on PC and my other phone Incredible S.
Anyone got this problem also or any solution?

HD video playback

Hello.
I have my new Nexus S for couple of days now, and today I wanted to try watch some HD ([email protected]) videos on it.
Ive tried several players(MX Video, Mobo,...), but playback is pretty bad. Its laggy, sound's laggy too and often goes off and I have to stop or pause the video and then continue to hear again.
TL;DR: playing HD content on my Nexus S is not watchable. Do I have to convert every HD video? I hope not, not like on my old ZEN player...
Thanks for reply
Look up dice player. Its a video player that has hd video playback and is hardware accelerated.

In my sensation full HD 1080p is lagging in mx player.....even 720p laggs....hardware decoding does not works...
File size is 250MB for 4 min songs.... sensation is not capable off...??I don't think so
Suggest a player other than mx with acceleration of hardware

If you say that hardware decoding isn't working, then I am pretty sure it won't work on other apps as well?

Diceplayer has no issues with HW acceleration.
With MX, not every format for me will H/W decode, namely MKV for me. If I convert to MP4 however, no issues whatsoever.
Good, free converter is Mobile Media Converter.

I can play .wmv 720p files just fine. It gets choppy on 1080p.

Actually, it works surprisingly well. I only tried one 1080p movie, 8GB mkv, and it flew like butter. I was even streaming it from my home computer...
The key is... DicePlayer
I've found Dice and vPlayer to be both better at HW than MX...

H.264 video support on One X(tried a few players but none worked well on h.264)

So I'm thinking of getting the AT$T HTC One X. My dad got one when it released and has been really happy with it. I tried it out and I like it too, but there was one problem I had. I was trying to play some music videos that I had which were downloaded in 720p H.264, and they wouldn't play well at all. They stuttered, the audio lagged, overall it was unwatchable. I tried a few different apps like Diceplayer, BSplayer, and a few others, but it was the same on all of them. Now, when I look at the specs of the phone, it claims to have H.264 support. So I am wondering if this is similar to the ATRIX 4g(my current phone) in that it can hardware decode H.264 content, but not if it is encoded in Hi-profile H.264. I really don't want to bother with converting media files before I can play on the phone, especially since I watch a lot of things with subtitles, and its a huge pain to make encoders keep the subtitles.
So if anyone can give me some info about how to get H.264 and specifically Hi-profile H.264, I would greatly appreciate it. If I can get this working on his phone, I will go out and buy a One X tomorrow.(I tried searching but I haven't been able to find anything.)
Try using MoboPlayer or MX player to play x264 videos (or any videos really). They both have hardware support and don't have a problem with any of the x264 videos I made.
Got it to work with bsplayer with the armv7 support codec

This. Try going to software decode if you run into issues with hardware decode, but between both modes, it has played every video file I could throw at it perfectly.

use mx player, hardware+ works for almost every format including mkv and be sure to use the arm v7 codex with neon acceleration for better battery life and performance.
