not getting 30 fps on my video camera 1080p or 720p

when i use windows media player im getting max 22fps on all modes i just got my phone today! should i exchange it?

It might have something to do with the memory card. It'll probably work better if you have a class 10 card that capable of real time hd recording.

I'm pretty sure that's a wmp thing. Have you tried any other media players?

Yep. Try this: http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/
It is the only app which don't lag while playing 1080p MKV file. I have tried VLC etc. And yes, it will record 30fps.

MPC is great, you can check real time FPS by pressing CTRL + J shortcut when viewing video.
I'm curious to see actual fps, esspecialy on fast moving scenes or objects so please post results with info about SD card class...

Any good FREE media player?

I want a good media player that can handle divx and MKV files. I heard about diceplayer, but its not free. Is there a good free player or thats the only option?

rockplayer works well for me, but there is a limit it can handle, i think 720p mkv is the highest...dont quote me on that tho, i dont watch a lot of HD mkv's on my fone, thats what my lappy is for

I currently use moboplayer but I'm not sure if it meets your needs.

giving mobo a shot now, i really like the interface...lets put it through its paces
EDIT* wow..just wow...i stand corrected, go with mobo player, its f'ing sick, really slick interface, and the controls are superintuitive and unobtrusive

I use Vplayer because Moboplayer gives me audio issues on some MKV files.

MX Video player is great, is supposedly optimized for dual core and has hardware acceleration enabled. it has played everything i've tried.. u might like it. free version has ads but you won't see them if you have a modified hosts file

Vplayer was my favourite until the developer went against his original statement of it will always be free and then changed it to a paid app.
MoboPlayer has played every video i have ever had my my Sensation (and previously DHD) without any problems.

I had a couple MKV's that it wouldn't produce sound for. I wish it played everything I threw at it because the interface looks better than Vplayer.

Best Video Player for Sensation that uses HWA

I have 720p mkv files that have my anime in them. MXPlayer using HWA shows a bit of lag. Using the SW(fast) option works perfectly though. Any video players that can handle 720p mkv anime episodes? Or is this a limitation of the sensations hardware?

I dont think you can beat mx video player, its the mainstream for HW acceled media.

Thank youfor the link, been waiting for vlc for a long time. I love vlc on my pc and laptop so i hope it works and will be testing it.

MX player is pretty good , it is hardware accelerated and according to devs dual core optimized, and its FREE

MXPlayer with mkv files working just fine for me.

i never had any problems with mx video player. it's dual core optimized and suptitles are shown in a very good way (font etc. changeable). i used to watch dragonball z episodes in hd, no other player could play the sound while using HWA. mx player has the option to use HWA for video, but software acceleration for audio. very useful. it is very stable and has a nice gui, too! give it a try!

Love Dice Player. This one gets the most play time for me because it plays damned near everything with HW acceleration and the interface is very clean.
Occasionally I do have to use other players though. That's when I just pick amongst Mx, Mobo, QQ, BS or V player. Unless the video is an obscenely large mkv with soft subs and like 7.1 surround sound audio, one of these will usually play what I want.

You mean Dice? It's fine for me. I watch soft subbed mkvs practically every day with this thing. Version 1.9.8 ad supported version.

+1 for Dice Player.
Works great on my ICS Sensation and ICS Xoom.

mxplayer good player

BS player, I second this.

DicePlayer - purchased a while ago (mainly for my Tegra 2 tablet) but it works as should on the Sensation, as well.

DICE Player has a better HWA performance than MX Player for me on my Sensation but it's subtitle support isn't as good as MX Player.

On stock ICS, EVERY player is laggy/choppy with any playback with HW. SW not so bad. Anyone else have this?

Yup, on gb is fine. On ics every hw is laggy.

H.264 video support on One X(tried a few players but none worked well on h.264)

So I'm thinking of getting the AT$T HTC One X. My dad got one when it released and has been really happy with it. I tried it out and I like it too, but there was one problem I had. I was trying to play some music videos that I had which were downloaded in 720p H.264, and they wouldn't play well at all. They stuttered, the audio lagged, overall it was unwatchable. I tried a few different apps like Diceplayer, BSplayer, and a few others, but it was the same on all of them. Now, when I look at the specs of the phone, it claims to have H.264 support. So I am wondering if this is similar to the ATRIX 4g(my current phone) in that it can hardware decode H.264 content, but not if it is encoded in Hi-profile H.264. I really don't want to bother with converting media files before I can play on the phone, especially since I watch a lot of things with subtitles, and its a huge pain to make encoders keep the subtitles.
So if anyone can give me some info about how to get H.264 and specifically Hi-profile H.264, I would greatly appreciate it. If I can get this working on his phone, I will go out and buy a One X tomorrow.(I tried searching but I haven't been able to find anything.)

Try using MoboPlayer or MX player to play x264 videos (or any videos really). They both have hardware support and don't have a problem with any of the x264 videos I made.

Got it to work with bsplayer with the armv7 support codec

This. Try going to software decode if you run into issues with hardware decode, but between both modes, it has played every video file I could throw at it perfectly.

use mx player, hardware+ works for almost every format including mkv and be sure to use the arm v7 codex with neon acceleration for better battery life and performance.

1080p HD video playback

Hey guys i just want to ask if any of you have tried playing 1080p or even 720p videos on the nexus s because im running on slimbean 3.0 marmite kernel and I used bs player to play HD videos but it will not be a smooth playback... does anyone have any idea on how to make the playback be smooth? Poor maybe this is hardware limitation?

If you haven't come across any solutions, I'd suggest Dice Player.

I've tried VLC player and it runs HD videos smoothly and amazingly. It's still in BETA but it's amazing. I'd give it a try, it's free so you won't be losing anything. It also plays any format and you can use it to listen to your music. Another cool feature is it allows you to stream videos on it.

I don't know if BS Player has the option but use MX Player and while your video is playing, choose SW Decoding, since HW decoding makes the video stutter
