[Game] Game Dev Story !!!

Hi,
I just want you to take a look at this game.
In this game you have your own game company. You have to develop games (you say which genre, type and name).
The graphics.... Okay forget the graphics, however, this is a great game!!!
The app costs 2 Yang (or what ever), but in the market is a lite version.
BE WARNED: It's a highly addictive game!!!

I played this game for a solid 8 hours straight one night on my iPhone. Glad to see an Android version now!

Yeah the game is super awesome.

yeah.. gets boring after a week

It's a cool game for a day or too, then gets too repetitive. Still I play it from time to time. If they add more features that would give the game a better replay value.

Highly addictive and unique gameplay I would say but it gets boring after the first cycle.

Pretty much, i but i did play it for a full night after trying the demo.
I never got to make my own console tho could never find an engineer.
The game kinda got really easy after a while

To get a engineer you have to max out one person in all the different jobs, level wise.

This one is really a good game!!
I play this for a week and really love this!!!

The pixel art actually adds to the charm of the game. Gameplay is hardly low quality.

I developed 3 consoles and many games...
now I'm just waiting to get a billionaire

This game is awesome. Love the 8-bit graphics! I've developed 3 consoles now, and i got over 2 billion dollars in the bank.

I was hooked on the demo so bought the full game for my wildfire.
The full app doesnt work properly - I cannot see the top bit of the screen (ie the amount of money I have, yet the demo doesnt have this issue).
Any ideas guys?

Thanks for idea - but without onscreen joypad it covers research points by half, with joypad its slightly better...

Full-version bug reports:
1. Amount deducted for payroll is off by a factor of 10. (The popup says 1100 will be deducted, then only 110 is..) I think it might be off in one or two other places like this, too.
2. Something new I did recently output the term "null" at the beginning of a line of text in the popup. I think it was using the Bug Spray when I didn't have very many bugs, but I don't remember for sure.
'Tis quite a great game, though I do have a question:
When a game goes on the market, and the blue bars show up, what does that area mean? Each bar is a week, I get that, but what is the relative height - sales? Then what's the green box overlayed on it?

Got 2 more:
3) When allocating points to a new game, if the number of "free" points goes above 9, there's an extra 1 prepended to the number (so 10 becomes 110, etc)
4) The cost to move to a new place is another off-by-ten: The popup asked me if I wanted to pay 25,000 to move to a new studio, but I only had 7,000. Taking a guess, I selected yes, and the move only cost me 2,500.

And another: "Congratulations! <Game> has sold 500k units!" when the actual number in the status bar is 5,000k. All the congratulations messages of this type are the actual number divided by 10.

This game ROCKS!!!!! Highly addictive.
Although I lost my autosave after 24 years due to my 4 year old son not knowing what he was doing. :-S
So have started a fresh game. :-D

[GAME][2.2+] Help test scrolling space shooter (Space Squad)

Hi,
I'm looking for people to test my first Android game Space Squad. It took about 2 months to make and should be an enjoyable experience. I've tried to expand on the current (stale?) recipy by having the user control a wing of 4 small ships instead of 1. They fly information but can be divided with multi-touch. When some ships die reinforcements warp in to replace them (until theres no more reinforcements that is).
I've also put in some other improvements on standard recipy:
- More exciting enemy behaviour
- Boss run mode where you only fight the level bosses
- Customisation options for your squad e.g. each ship starts with a shield / ships have a repulsor that pushes incoming objects away etc.
I wrote it in libgdx and would be happy to discus the engineering approach used with anyone who is interested. I also would be happy to co-develop with anyone if they wanted to expand it with me.
Note that the package name is DungeonCrawl, I should probably have renamed that when I decided to develop a shooter >< hope that won't cause problems later with updates/etc.
Edit: Have added attachement with the apk file on it for convenience.

Let me know what you think. I'm particularly interested in the lower powered devices. If it runs slowly/ badly on midrange phones e.g. galaxy ace, I could add some options such as remove clouds/background.

I'm not so sure Neo.Emu supports the people that made the game. This game app is made by SNK Playmore.
It's more than a simple port of the original game. Xperia Play Optimized, full Play button control, 16:9 support (it really just stretches the image ), old school display scan lines, anti-aliasing, bluetooth multiplayer, etc.
Support your local skateshop. :good: I bought it because I can download it to both of my Android devices and enjoy multiplayer. Not exactly sure it is worth the $6.99, but it is definitely fun. Will post screenshots later if you guys would like.

Wait, this is Xperia Play Optimized? Ohhh will get, I love Metal Slug.

It is so much better to play full ported games then emulators. They run at full speed and with everything intact (sound, graphics, etc)
Not saying emulation is bad (I play with emus most days) but it's use is for games which can't be played natively, for getting a more original feel to a certain game if its changed for the worst in the porting, or for playing your legally owned game copies.
Emulation is mostly looked upon as illegal. This metal slug 3 is an arcade game, who here has a old neo-geo metal slug machine that can legally make a Rom for use with mame or other? Anyone?
Sorry to moan but hate seeing comments like this all the time. We need to support developers or the gaming business go's bust and new games won't be made.

Well... iOS got an upgraded version of KoF-i (which we know as King of Fighters Android) with a ton of new characters and online play.
Perhaps this is a sign of more SNK support to come? If we can get that as our definite online fighter... damn... the one piece of leverage my PSVita holds over Xperia Play is gone :\

Works perfectly for me on R800x
Great on Tablet S as well, multiplayer is very smooth, no lag on either device when playing linked. Only complaint on Tablet S is that , when using a DS3, R3/L3 is jump not X

LAGS like hell on my XP running stock 2.3.3 , even after a fresh boot and running Supercharger Super 512hp and engine flush.
Tips?

The game starts like a thunder, but after a few minutes it becomes unplayable...
THE LAG IS TERRIBLE!!!
We need an update right now to fix it, many of us love this game... And $6.99 was really expensive for a very laggy game!!!

at what point does it start lagging for you guys? Boss battle?
I had problems playing several different games when I was running custom ROMs, since flashing OEM 2.3.4 I haven't had any issues.
the latest app update took away the menu sound effects, booo. everything is still smooth for me however.

Still no ways out from this laggy? Gosh, love to play it, but can't stand with the laggy part, anyway still keep the game in my play although cant play it for more than 3 minutes,,

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who still keeps the three dot bar for the normal functionality of some games (I'm looking at you, gameloft), I'm sure we all appreciate games that are actually designed to fill our full screen. So here we go!

Dead Trigger (quitting now...it's getting ridiculous as game progresses...I miss the good old days in shadowgun)
Drift Mania (actually very entertaining...once you get used to it)

ME Infiltrator (heavy load on the gpu though...heating like crazy sometimes)
Real Racing 2 (graphic is a little rough on some curves...and the menu is not smooth for some reason...but the actual gameplay is buttery smooth)
Reckless Racing HD (all time favourites)
Temple Run
World Of Goo
Zen Bound
Riptide GP (needs a little more gpu juice to keep the frame rate steady sometimes)

I have asphalt running on h8's latest CM9. The vehicles look very good and there aren't any FPS drops in any game mode. I'm about half way through the game and it's been flawless. I can't reply in reference to the 3 dot bar, because again I have been running it on CM9. But don't hesitate to buy this game! It's only 99 cents and runs great. Some of the tracks are recycled from Asphalt 6 but the graphics are much better.

I actually own the game on IPAD 2 and is hesitating to give it a try on my one xl......for some reason I just can't accept the current IAP business module used by gameloft......reminds me of spoiled Chinese online games....which they don't charge for hours you play but changes the drop/success rate of anything and make players buy equip and even the f**king avatar hairstyle with ￥￥￥

Yeah I also own the game on my iPad but I carry my HOX with me more often and it's a lot easier to access. I also feel like the screen on my HOX is superior and I want to take advantage of it. I've also been playing some Final Fantasy on it which is an excellent game, but doesn't really utilize the nice GPU. Check out AstroWings3. Pretty awesome retro style game. It's a basic flying shooter game but it's fun. Helps me pass time at work when it gets slow!

Idk how but I've been playing nova 3 for some time now. It's awesome.

Why not just map menu to the recents key? Gets rid of the overflow menu and all games become full screen.

Not for me it doesnt. Zero issues with any game. That's with the flashable mod from 1.85 or the HTC implemented remap from the latest OTA. I haven't seen the menu overflow for months.

Not a fan of games. But this is simple. Always loved the PAC man series, this is very similar. Runs smooth and no problems.!! Great addition.

Yes. I am a fan of Pacman series. The game is a great with HD resolution, full touch, full screen. The bird is love.

I like your game but it needs some fixing. On my Nexus 4 there seems to be a problem with main menu not displaying properly. Also controls feel a little clunky to me, but maybe it's just me

Can you take screenshot about menu screen and upload to this thread? Some devices need to swipe longer to keep bird going more than one step.
