any way to make it louder? I am having problems hearing people when compared to the sense roms.
Thanks!
There is a volume fix zip available for RC.6 but doesn't seem to work on RC1.1. So we are all kind of out of luck until someone with knowledge on the subject fixes it and posts a fix.

I stumbled upon this in my quest to find a solution to the VS /STT issues I've been having. I've confirmed that if I'm in a very quiet environment they both work correctly but as soon as I get in a noisy one, neither work.
Please see if your results coincide with this, if they do we know what to submit to the cm7 devs.

i would love to learn how to incorporate this functionality into a rom (i'm an owner of a htc phone and primarily use sense roms). from what i've read, it's only a matter of adding a couple of files (phonewindowmanager$12.smali and phonewindowmanager$13.smali) and modifying phonewindowmanager.smali. if done right, this functionality can be added to any rom.
i've been comparing the cm7 smali file to a sense smali file to see what the differences are in terms of code but it just makes my eyes go wonky since i know nothing about reading/writing code.
until yesterday, i had no idea how to extract classes.dex from android.policy.jar nor was i aware of any of the information mentioned above. in other words, i'm a noob at this. i would like to learn how to do this and by the looks of it, many others on the forum are interested as well.
is there a dev out there that would like to share his/her knowledge/wisdom/experience on this with the rest of the xda community? i realize this is a lot to ask but i thought i'd try. thanks in advance.
I'd also be interested in this, for phones where Cm7 isn't available
Me too. Am going to put this thread as my signature until some kind soul comes up with an tutorial. Or at least a rhetoric answer.
By the way, the only guy that i know is, Andy Thompson, who's always update his mod/hack for MIUI roms
http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/mod-skip-track-via-volume-press.7356/
and also CosmicDan

Must have skill/mod/hack or even app for music lover and flashaholic.
while on call dialer dials doubles the recorder gets confused for example 1112 the recorder says 111122
when i make a call it goes on speakerphone and i have to press the speaker everytime when making a call (ppl dont need to hear my business lol)
skype freezes on ics and some apps like whatsaap oovoo and stickam
PLEASE IMPROVE THE DSP MANAGER
other issues unknown atm
CM has a bug tracker on their website. They don't spend much time here...
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
I'd hate to sound like an ass, but stop posting useless threads.
I'm on this forum everyday and I see a new thread every week from you regarding a topic that's already been covered, or an unnecessary thread all together.
Keep in mind I'm not trying to be mean. These are facts.
Yes, there is a bug tracker, if you've read the OP in the CM thread (clearly you haven't)
And almost all of those problems you listed (apart from DSP manager) seem like your problems only. I have never experienced any of the other problems you mentioned, nor have I seen them mentioned by others
And if you want to improve dsp flash awesome beats from the mirror thread
sorry about that gtmaster lately i've been out of the blue and not snapped out about it but ill keep focus my apologies
well i reported the bug so thanks everyone i wont be a pain anymore just gonna start figuring stuff myself for now on
After exhaustive searching for a way to do this on a stock (or similar) ROM, I have found a simple and elegant solution. I did not develop, create or help with the coding. But there are many requests in multiple forums for this ability and I miss it from the AOSP like ROMS I have used on my old device.
These are the pertinent posts:

Just read through the posts, directions and use the "tweakbox" module to choose the volume track skip function. It worked fine on my stock odexed rooted Note 2. I have only tested it with stock and neutron music player, but I imagine it would work with any player that responds to headset controls.
So you no longer have to keep asking the ROM developers to do this, and if you like running stock you will be set.
I am cross posting this in the general section as well as the Sprint Note 2 apps section, hope it does not violate some rule but few folk are going to be looking there.
Many thanks to the developer who created this, rovo89 and again no credit to me.
yes it works , i owe you my life , but the other tweaks dont seem to work like the CRT or Call Rec

Can't comment on those---just was impressed with the volume track skip. That is one of the most asked for mods on Roms and music players.
Hello,
This issue has been driving me insane. It seems like some simple, artificial limitation that no one seems to circumvent. As the title suggests, I'm trying to force phone calls and especially VoiP calls (Discord, whatsapp..etc), to go through the high bitrate A2DP profile instead of the horrible HSP/HFP profile that butchers audio quality and uses the horrible bluetooth microphone.
For instance when music is streamed through a bot in Discord i have to listen to it in horrible earpiece-level phone call quality.
I feel like there's got to be a tweak, a Magisk module, a custom ROM functionality with root access that allow for this, something.. I found a couple old XDA posts about this but no solutions. Oh and also tried Lesser AudioSwitch on multiple Android versions, none worked.
It seems inherent to all bluetooth headphones which is a shame, they could cost 10k $, but the quality would still be sh*t in calls, both in and out, since mic is not close to the mouth.
I always loved Android for giving users more control, but sadly seems like this is more and more going away. What i want here, can very easily be done on PC.
Thank you for your time reading, really hope someone can help.
