[MOD] 4-in-1 Reboot Mod - Updated for 4.67/4.54/4.53/4.24 OTA Based Roms - 2/12/12 - EVO 4G Android Development

Greetings Everyone,
This is my first mod posting. This is a ported reboot mod for the new 4.24 OTA based roms. I took this opportunity to be able to learn some new things and port it on my own. Thank you to all those who helped. Originally I had this as a 3 in 1, but with the option of enabling and disabling fast boot, its best just to leave all four options available for the user to choose. Thanks chamala2000 for catching that distinction. Updated to be a 4 in 1 reboot mod. The 4.53 mod for the 4.54 ota based roms. And now a revised 4.67 ota based rom.
Special thanks to snq who developed the first reboot mod.
Thanks to aamikam for porting the first reboot mod.
For those of you who want not only the 4 in 1 Reboot Mod, but would also like more power menu options, please visit this link: Advanced Power Menu
Files:
OTA 4.24: 4-In-1-Reboot-Menu-4.24_signed.zip
OTA 4.53: 4-In-1-Reboot-Menu-4.53_signed.zip
OTA 4.54: 4-In-1-Reboot-Menu-4.53_signed.zip
OTA 4.67: 4-In-1-Reboot-Menu-4.67_signed.zip
Diff File: 4in1-467-Diff.txt
What you need for this to work:
A Rom based off of one of the applicable OTAs
A DeOdexed Rom
Busybox Installed
Please check with your rom's developer to see if he/she has made any modifications to the android.policy.jar ... if they haven't or you are using the standard DeOdexed rom from Haus or Rom Manager you should be good to flash.

Updated to 4 in 1 reboot mod. (Replaced the 3 in 1 reboot mod.)
Updated zip to edify script and signed it, so no need to toggle signatures off anymore
7-21-11 Fixed updater script.
9-17-11 Updated for 4.53 OTA.
2-12-12 Updated for 4.67 OTA and added diff files.

awesome bro. thanks for this!

I will be updating this tonight to swap out the reboot for hot restart... Reason being us I had it backwards, restart on the main power menu is like a reboot..
Thanks chamala2000 for catching that mistake

Do you know if this works for the Synergy Rom?

Since Synergy is based off of the speedy port, it wouldn't work without some tinkering
edit: doesn't synergy already have this option? if not let me know

updated to a 4 in 1 reboot mod for the 4.24 ota based roms..

Nice......it worked for me. Thanks. Now I can delete Rom Manager
HTC EVO 4G

Thanks OP.

Thx man, works like it should work.

Verified Working - Fresh Evo 4.2.0.0
thankyou so much for porting this.
any chance you can try your hand at Jchisurf's Notification Menu?

That was something I wanted to try, though since that modifies several files, some used in theming, it would need to be ported to each custom rom, and not a blanket update like this one was.

ca1ne, thanks for this mod works great.
gonna save some time getting into recovery this way.

Unless it was in the Rom thread somewhere in the 70 some pages i didn't see it. I don't have it in my menu, i use the Quickboot widget or the root manager widget to hot restart or recovery.

I'll download synergy this weekend to confirm and see if I can make a zip for that rom
Edit, I checked with some synergy users and they said if you hold down power, select restart, then the menu pops up, hope this helps

I got a 10 spot if you port it using freshh 4.2 as a base.
what you could do is port it, then offer it to each rom dev to incorporate within their rom so it wont adjust that roms theming.

Works great, cooked it right into my ROM.

Zip file
I would love to load this, however I'm using clockwork mod 3 and it requires edify zip files. Can u possibly format the zip so that i may use it?
Thank you

[PORT] Display Percent Battery Left within Battery Icon - Fresh 2.1.2+

I've seen a lot of chatter regarding the desire to port over the mod that was created originally, I believe by PaY87, and then ported to the EVO by kubino99.
While I generally prefer to create my own stuff, versus porting other's work, there seemed to be enough demand / desire for this, that I decided to give it a try.
I take no credit for the original mod, which is quite smart in how it was done, rather, I simply cracked open the applicable framework file (services.jar) to try and determine what was modified, and then worked to incorporate these changes, which were vast into our CDMA Hero services.jar file.
This will NOT change your battery icon / graphic in any way, it will simply add, in white text, the percent battery left, inside of your existing battery icon. While this is nice to have, if you are like me, you are now going to drive yourself crazy watching the percent value tick down!
The linked zip files, to be flashed via recovery, as mentioned, modifies a framework file, and as such, your initial boot will take a while after flashing, as your dalvik-cache will get rebuilt. This was built off of the Fresh 2.3.3 services.jar file.
FYI, since this modifies the services.jar file, the same file contains a previous mod I had done for removing the clock from the taskbar. As such, if you still do not want the clock in the taskbar, you will have to flash the mod that contains both changes (included below).

What ROM are you running? My best guess is you are running a stock / non-deodexed ROM, which this will not work on.
Just flashed...AWESOME! Thanks for the great work to everyone involved.
I flashed in recovery and there was no change when i rebooted.
im running fresh 2.3.3 with a 710 v4 kernel.
Edit: nevermind..upon a second reboot it worked..
idk..if it doesnt come up the first time..shut down and just reboot again.
ill give updates soon
* i dont know if its just the fact that i pulled my phone off the the charger after sending the file to sd but my batttery has dropped from 90 to 83 within a couple minutes

I'm running 2.3.3 as well, so it should work for you. Are you plugged in by chance, or at 100% battery? You will only see a value when you are between 99% and 1%.

i dont know why i assumed i would see numbers while plugged in
lol i might just nandroid backup and wait till someone makes a version thats the just the circle.
its gonna kill me clicking the screen on just to see what number the batter says
mrinehart93 made a port for the hero, its just the circle battery icon, flash that one first then flash the one in here that JsChiSurf made and you will have the circle battery with percent in the middle.
ps. you need to use clockwork recovery to flash the cirlce battery zip in the link below

You can read a little about odex verssus deodex ROMs in Flipz's post here.
What it comes down to, however, is deodexing allows us to then more easily modify the binaries (compiled executable code), to make the mods we make, then re-compile and release.
In general can I assume that a mod working for Fresh will (or at least might) also work on other de-odexed Sprint-based ROMs?

[ROM] - [3/29/2011] - MikShift v1.1 - ReEngineered Sense - 100% Odex + Mods

OK guys I think most of u know me from my MikFroYo Roms for the Evo.
what u guys are getting here is a highly optimized version of the htc stock rom with many additional options to use as u see fit.
this rom is odex and will always be odex cuz i do think and odex system is simply better and faster.

the shift uses emmc partitions instead of mtd, if you read my develeopers reference post it will help you. I've also posted a stock deodex'd rom that is 100% working... you can reference the updater-script to mount and format partitions correctly.

technically all android phones kinda work the same... especially htc ones.
so... in theory i dont need to own the phone to make a rom for it.

[MOD] Advanced Power Menu - 4.53/4.54/4.67/5.07 OTA Based Roms - 07/03/12

Greetings Everyone,
I wanted to add a few more options to the Power Menu after having added the Reboot Mod. Also I realized the Restart option that was originally listed was a duplication of an option in the pop up reboot menu, so I took it out. With that said, here are some new additions to the power menu.

Good job homie!!!
tapatalk signature here. lovely.
Thank you... This was once again reenabling what was already there..
I never understood HTC for disabling options that were in the base code to start with, except if they wanted the evo stock to look and act less than that it could have become just to get us to buy the newer phones.
I just added this to my EVO and I LOVE it!!!! I'm gladly giving a donation for this one.

I'm still new to rooting so please forgive my ignorance on the subject. I was running Synergy for about a month, but it became unstable and a lot of my apps just stopped working. I ended up going back to my stock backup (which sucks because battery life is pitiful). I miss having these options and would like to get them back. Since I am on stock and I am assuming that means it's Odexed, what would happen if I were to try and flash this?

That's why i put this disclaimer in
Please check with your rom's developer to see if he/she has made any modifications to the android.policy.jar ... if they haven't and you haven't added any custom modifications that override this file you should be all set..
I believe digital karma modified this file, and is that version of that rom 5.07? Based ota?

SGS4G OTA NOCIQ Edition - [TEAMWHISKEY DEV TEAM]

Update:
FC's fixed, themed, speed tweaks to frameworks, prepped for bootanimations.
It will boot to a black screen, dont worry, its because I removed the QMG files. Once we have a working kernel, it will play the bootanimation I have installed.
So, this is the SGS4G OTA Build that Raver put together + extras.
Has the Bat Mod + CRT On/Off Animations by error666
CIQ FULLY REMOVED by me:

Just flash over your current build. Doesn't wipe, and included the KJ1 CWM Voodoo kernel.

ROM Devs, feel free to use this as a base. Just give Credit.
This has Voodoo kernel added.
Main support for this ROM will be at http://rootzwiki.com/topic/11025-romgalaxy-s-4g-236-ota-v2-nociq-edition-rooted-crt-off-bat-mod/
Nice, thanks!

And chance you would consider including bhundven's KJ6 kernel in the next release?
I think that's his plan as he states in the OP he had prepped it for boot animations once we have a working kernel. At least in a future release, or one could just flash the kernel.

Since kernel is still in beta I would let the users decide anyhow just flash his kernel over it lol

I've been using this for a few days now, since released on rootz, this is a great ROM.

Doesn't this phone already not have CIQ, if it does, can someone tell me what apk it is?
Maybe an answer from Krylon to see what he removed.
The phone has it but its inactive. There are files that have iq in their names in the root of your phone thoae are your culprits. An example would be one under /system/xbin
Great Post Krylon!
disregard please

Almost there. I'm at a stopping point right now, but RaverX3X and I were working on this earlier. with a bootanimation binary he gave me I was able to get bootanimation to work, but it didn't die after android was done booting.
I had to manually kill the pid.

Well, for us that are not ready to use the 2.3.6 GB build, and still want to remove Carrier IQ from our phones, I will write a Guide for all to enjoy and remove from their current ROMs. I am currently testing it, but am having grave errors when I recompile the framework-res.apk (BTW, there is a little more than just editing the apk). I have never had any luck with APK Tool or APK Manger. If there is anyone out there who could possibly help with this, I can finish and post my guide.
***EDIT***
I went ahead and posted my guide even though I haven't perfected the decompile/recompile of the apk. The service is still removed but framework-res.apk still tries to start it. I have no FCs or issues running it as it is.

You pretty much copied my guide word for word. Ive reported it to be removed. You are having recompile issues because you are removing 1 very important commit.

Which was purely accidental and coincidental. I have removed ALL info contained in the post and have request it be removed as well...

That worked! Updated my kernel thread to v0.0.2c.
Thanks Krylon and Raver!
Extended power menu - Complete.
Onto the next thing
Power Menu Mod add-on posted in the OP
krylon, can you link me to your caller IQ guide?
Flashed this from Ravers rom... lost root... Did i miss something?
TeamWhiskey, a sorely missed and very welcome tag I am glad to see in the first page again.
Krylon, thanks for this work, and thanks to those who collaborated with him on it. I can't afford a SGS2 for some time, so to see development and work contijnue as this device ages is a huuuge relief.
