Since the threads are becoming too long to keep an overview on everything I would like to start a poll on which Radio ROM ist providing the best results.
Specifically there seem to be issues reported for the following:
ROM 1.13: Issues with data network reconnect ("modem not responding")
ROM 1.15: Bluetooth stops working
ROM 1.09: Seemingly stable
Please provide your experiences
BTW: I'm using 1.13 richt now and have the reported issues with the data network not reconnecting.
I use 1.14.10 as 1.15 place where I live cannot provide normal reception. At 1.14.10 there are some problems
1. Suddenly disconnected GPRS
2. 2 second pause at a raising of a tube
3. 2 second pause a release
i moved back to 1.09 wich so far is the most stable without having calls missed.
Radio 1.17.00...?
i saw Mamaich use Radio 1.17 in the Signature....
is that True...?
HTC Universal (PU10, SuperCID)

Using 1.13 data problems
i'm using 1.13 since it passed all test run by jwrightmcps while its rom 2.02.00 WWE.
1st Problemon the whole i do not get low signal problem nor there is any data disconnection while on pda but when using usb modem on pc; it does disconnect data.
2nd problem i feel is that i am unable signin to my Windows Live Messenger till now. it says synchronization error. you may be in low coverage area. ---> and my signals are always full.
3rd Problem i cannot send or receive mms since i stacked my universal with 1.13. it reaches 99% and suddenly the baloon disappears and the message stays in the outbox (unsent) with the status of PENDING on its envelop icon
farehmani
Using 1.15 and use the bluetooth headset. have yet to experience the not working problem, yet.
however, if bluetooth is not left on, and i were to beam a file using Resco, sometime bluetooth will freeze and a soft reset is required to regain functionality.
hope someone would post the link to radio 1.17 for me to try out
The problem here is that the choice is rather limited in the poll.
I'm using 1.15 but to be honest I don't notice any difference between that or 1.13 or 1.14.1.
I'm based in England, but don't use GPRS or pushemail; maybe that means I'm not au fait with the subtle differences between the versions?
I just think there are too many variables and it is a personal preference?
1.09 is very stable
Hi,
I have tried them all and I get back to 1.09.00
It was the most stable and functional one for me.
Tried the following
1.08
1.09
1.10.03
1.11
1.12 (fixed)
1.13
1.14.10
1.15
So far, I've had problems with all of them, but hell that's just how the uni works
with 1.15 and 1.14.10 I have loss in BT connection along with hanging 3G and missing calls when the device is on.
1.12 is a bit better
Have to try 1.13 again and also 1.10.03
1.09 Still gives me the best result basicaly
haven't tried 1.08 because 1.09 is mostly used and 1.08 seems like a step back
mamaich! Post 1.17 Radio here please
I have used 1.13, 1.14.10 and 1.15 and at the beginning 1.09 but I have one big Problem but don't know if it's with the radio:
I can hear some people very hard (they are too quiet) and the same the other way around. They hear me very hard. Have tried it with the PDAVIET/Darkforce WM6 and Radio 1.14.10 and 1.15. But once I had a WM6 ROM (Think it was Helmi's 1.1) which was VERY LOUD AND CLEAR. Is there an option to turn up the Volume or do I have to try every RADIO backwards?
I agree.
Radio 1.15 is no good. Very unstable. I've lost reception many times, mainly from going in a place with no reception and then back outside. It'll search and search and search and it'll find NOTHING. i have to do a soft reboot in order to get reception again.
I'm gonna try out 1.09, my jasjar came with 1.13

No similar problems with my Radio 1.15, using O2 in the UK. When I'm on the train or the underground and lose the connection, it quickly reconnects once reception is available.

I agree - I'm on T-Mobile, and 1.15 is the BEST of the available ROMs for me (I'm using Helmi's v1.1). The older ROMs generally seem to have better data handling, but poorer voice facilities. v1.15 is fine for voice, and has the most stable data of all the ROMs I've tried (and I've tried them all).
I think it's been said before, but is probably worth repeating; the different radio ROMs seem to give differing results in different territories. The best option is to try them out for yourself, and pick the best one. At least with a radio upgrade there's no hard reset, so you shouldn't lose any data. (Having said this, I tend to get some minor settings changed when I flash, but it's not a big deal to reset them - worth taking a backup if you have the facility).
Cheers,
Steve.

nvm i fixed it...the device thought the headphones were plugged in. I plugged in the headphones, then unplugged them and bingo!
As I am new I cannot post in the developer forum, so I hope someone finds my solution here:
The RC2 for Redux 1.1.1 contains an updated RIL that causes problems on my phone (connection disappears after screen off/sleep and comes back only after reboot). Similar problems are described in the Desire RIL thread with lots of different ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902752
Solution for me was the downgrade to HTC-RIL 2.2.1001G, no problems with network connection so far.
Redux problems
I experience 2 problems with Redux 1.2 :
1. Sometimes during the day the level of audio drops down to
almost 0, although nothing changed to the presets. After
reboot everything is ok again.
I got the impression that it has something to do with other
apps using audio. Today the level of audio turned back to
normal after shutting down the service of Tunein Radio.
2. Sometimes with incoming calls I can't answer it because
the screen stays black.
Any solutions ?
Hi guys,
I have a Sensation XE running ARHD 3.6.13 and I just noticed today that the phone is unable to see any networks on EU channels (11,12,13).
Is there a trick use these frequencies ?
Radio: 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
Up
Nobody is using these channels ?
I tried Virtuous 2.2.3 ROM and there is the same issue, unable to detect any wifi networks over channel 11.
Hi
Is this issue still not resolved?
Same problem here; my wifi not visible at all (channel 13)
Original stock ROM, was never modified, rooted, etc.
Android 4.0.3, software number 3.33.401.55, baseband 11.76C.3504.00U_11.29A3504.18_M
Can't seem to find any setting which could affect usable channels, changed country in "language & keyboard", but no effect.
Also did a factory reset, twice, no effect.
What could be the clue? Or is this some kind of "US"-model?
I have 4 different other HTC models, but they all can connect fine to channel 13! (stock ROM or not)
SOLVED
Solved.... well in my case at least...
After inserting my SIMcard channel 12 & 13 are visible. Yes the HTC original ROM gets this region-information from the SIMcard. This is aparently a normal procedure, but was unknown to me.
I usually use some phones without SIMcard first, to setup all privacy settings etc.
just installed this rom on my desire S
[ROM] Saga3D v5.1.0 Desire S official Sense 3.0 - fast, stable, aroma installer
installed this rom to get away from the stock rom that was delaying my texts and not letting me recieve some calls.
this rom seems great but i lose signal every so often, it goes to 'no service', but a quick press of call to call someone and then put it down quick prompts my phone to kick in and have full signal again. also some texts are delayed still but only by 40 minutes maximum unlike the 12-15 hours they were before on the stock software. any ideas why or how to fix?
(im on tmobile, but my signal jumps from t mobile to orange, basband version 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M)

can't see that it would do any harm.....ensure that you follow the instructions correctly and check the md5sum of the radio file after download and after copy onto sdcard as a bad radio file flash can ruin phone
I have been using a Droid Mini for many years now, and am still quite happy with it. One of my few complaints, is that the radio does not play nicely with Canada's Bell/Telus LTE network.
I've used the versions in both 4.2.2 (doesn't hand off to HSPA properly after a call or MMS, repeated service drop-outs) and 4.4.4 (hand-off is fine, but LTE connection is started/lost many times a day regardless of signal strength). While the latter one is an improvement, there are other weird bugs that seem to come with 4.4.4 ("this SIM is from an unknown source" errors which randomly kill your connection, prompting to connect to WiFi when opening apps even if all available relevant settings have been disabled).
I know the radio firmware from the Moto X is compatible, but I have a few questions before I start toying with this as it is my daily driver:
Is it OK to flash the radio partition from a newer major version? (Lollipop radio to Kitkat)
Is MSM8960PRO_BP_23255.140.93.00R the best option available? What is included with the available CyanogenMod releases?
Is the radio partition the only one that must be flashed to support this?
What's the easiest way to backup the partition before I try to update it?
Does anyone know if there is a working repository for the XT1030's stock images?
