Your barking up the wrong tree --
reverse tether is what your need to do - it is not complex just google around a bit.

I have googled around, but just found no more than what mohamadfar has found.

I google all about android and adhoc, but not find ...
I think google or developers most solved this problem by a patch.

Reverse tethering is the keyword. Google didnt post any? Im sure it will.

I google "Android Reverse tethering" now... only find 4 way I write in first post and no one of this work !!!

dude -
on the pc turn on connection sharing for Internet connected interface.
tether phone to pc
delete the default route on pc pointing to phone
add a default route to phone pointing to pc and you are done.
There is a base level of knowledge assumed in the above directions, if you can't figure it out - try it again later..

Try BZEEK Its really good, I Use it quite often and it really works well for me!

u should change the title to solved

It is said that using win7 instead of XP can perfectly solve this problem, but my laptop is too old for win7. Bzeek creates an ad-hoc connection, I used a software which also creates one, but my device can't find it. WiFi Manager can find it, but it says "Android does not support connecting to Ad-Hoc(IBSS) type networks".

No problem mate! Even I tried searching so hard for what you were looking out for, tried everything but only this worked, It seems that connectify & virtual router don't work with intel Wi-fi chipsets which I guess is the most common one...

it works on some htc and galaxy s i9000 and other old galaxy s models

BZEEK & connectify & virtual router don't work with my Vaio loptop (LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11g PCI-E Adapter)
Ad-hoc is most problem of android. Plz help ...

If you are using Windows 7, you can use a hidden feature called HostedNetwork which essentially does the required thing, Creating a virtual wifi router. This functionality is in Windows 7 half baked, there is no UI for this but it works very nicely. To enable it:
1. Go to an Administrative command line window and run the following command:
Code:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<AnyName> key=<Any 8 character Password>
2. Configure Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
- Press Win Key+R, type ncpa.cpl in the Run dialog and hit enter.
- Select the interface that currently has Internet connection (like your Ethernet or normal wifi). Go to its properties, go to Sharing tab and then enable the sharing. Choose the special “hosted” interface (sometimes called a Virtual Wifi Miniport) in the drop down. Close the dialog by hitting OK.
3. Start the hosted interface by typing in this command on command line:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
4. Connect to the internet using the dialer if you have one of those USB internet dongles.
Thats it, search for the Wifi network you created from your phone and connect to it. You're done!
Sometime, if you get an error while starting up the HostedInterface try doing this :
First, try rebuilding your tcp ip stack by doing the following:
1. Start an elevated/administrative command prompt window.
4: Type the command :
Code:
netsh int ip reset
in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.
5: Restart the computer.
If this doesn't help, then disable internet sharing. After that disable the HostedNetwork by using command:
Code:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=disallow
After that restart your computer and set up the connections again.
By default when you share a internet connection it will automatically make the wifi mini port a DHCP server, however some phones may have an issue with this so you could also try setting a static IP address on the phone that is in the same class and subnet as your Virtual Miniport connection.
As a sub note when you set this up make sure you only have one wifi device available (i mean one physical device) if you have two wifi cards on your computer unplug one of them or disable it when you first setup the wifi mini port (the steps in my original post).
Hope this post be helpful to you. Good luck!

you need a new usb wifi device that can support Soft-AP

I have tried all ways to get ad-hoc wifi on my phone , yet nothing till date seems to work.
1)wpa_supplicant method (Wifi Analyser can see the ad-hoc connection but can't connect)
2)reverse tether by bridging connections and then dhcp eth0 method (here this doesnt work because it only shows tiwlan0 and 'dhcpcd tiwlan0' doesnt work)
3)softwares like connectify , mhotspot etc do not work for me either.
Now i hope , developers come out for a way to provide this feature as soon as possible.
Hopefully , i find this link hxxp://code.google.com/p/adhoc-on-android/
Somebody pls get behind this!

Another long-awaited breakthrough: dial-up Internet Sharing over Wi-Fi!

Anyone having read my tutorial on the new Internet Sharing utility in Windows Mobile 5 AKU3 and later versions (including, of course, WM6) knows that it’s not possible to use a Windows Mobile device as a GPRS / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA etc. cellular modem via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth DUN or, with some exceptions, even infrared, “only” over BT PAN and USB. This means a lot of devices can’t connect to the Net if they don’t support either BT PAN (or USB with desktop Windows operating systems). While the BT DUN hack published some months ago certainly helped the situation (allowing for connections via the far more widely supported, “traditional” Bluetooth DUN), it still didn’t let for using the Windows Mobile Phone Edition (“Professional” in WM6 parlance) device as a modem with clients connecting via Wi-Fi.
XDA-Developers hacker fluxist has just published a tutorial on his latest finding, which, at last, allows for accessing the Net using a Windows Mobile device via Wi-Fi.
I've thoroughly expanded (also with screenshots) the tutorial and tested it with some other Pocket PC's. The results are as follows:
Start Programs / Internet Sharing. Enable the sharing for Bluetooth PAN (NOT USB!) using Connect (left softkey). If you’re prompted for enabling Bluetooth visibility, close the dialog box as usual by pressing OK.
Start editing the Registry with a registry editor and change HKLM\Comm\ ConnectionSharing\ PrivateInterface (which is, by default, "BTPAN1") to the internal name of your Wi-Fi adapter. It’s "TIACXWLN1" with most models.
If it’s not the case (for example, with the HTC Wizard, which uses TNETWLN1 instead), make sure you search for the same string in the Registry as in Settings / Connections / Wi-Fi. For example, it’s “SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter” on the Wizard and “tiacxwln Compatible Wireless Ethernet” on the Universal. Search for this string; the second occurrence (it’s slightly different from the first: first, it has a suffix “1” after the registry key name and also has a "Wireless" value) will be something like this:
On the Wizard:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN1]
"DisplayName"="SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter"
"Group"="NDIS"
"ImagePath"="tnetwln.dll"
"Wireless"=dword:00000001
On the Universal:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\tiacxwln1]
"DisplayName"="tiacxwln Compatible Wireless Ethernet Driver"
"Group"="NDIS"
"ImagePath"="tiacxwln.dll"
"Wireless"=dword:00000001
Here, all you need to do is looking up the name of the subkey, which is [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN1] with the first and [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\tiacxwln1] with the second case. Of this, you’ll only need the last subkey name component; that is, TNETWLN1 and tiacxwln1, respectively.
Note that I’ve made two registry import files available, should you want to be able to quickly change the Registry values, without the need for manually editing the Registry every time you start the Internet Sharing applet. THIS is for the Wizard and THIS for the Universal, TyTN / Hermes and several other models. To make your life easier, just put it in the file system of your Pocket PC and click it after starting and connecting Internet Sharing so that it’s automatically imported. Should you need a RegEdit 5-compliant Registry Editor for your handheld, I recommend Resco File Explorer (see THIS for more info).
To make your life even easier, put the shortcut to the Registry import file straight on your Today screen as is explained for example in THIS article. Then, you won't even need to fire up a file explorer tool to find the registry import file - you just go to the Today screen after starting and connecting Internet Sharing, click the registry import file and all is set.
Go to Settings / Connections / Wi-Fi and select the Network Adapters tab (it’s the default and only visible one when the Wi-Fi unit is disabled). Click the name of the Wi-Fi card (“IEEE 802.11b/g Compatible Wi-Fi” on the HTC TyTN / Hermes, “SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter” on the Wizard and “tiacxwln Compatible Wireless Ethernet” on the Universal). Enable “Use specific IP address” and enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 into the first field (“IP address”). When you click the second row (“Subnet mask”), it’ll auto-fill 255.255.255.0. Just keep it at that. This is shown in the following screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
From now on, you go on as with adding a p2p network (see THIS for my earlier article if interested – reading it is not needed for completing this tutorial): click “Add new…” on the Wireless tab:
Enter a network name (it can be anything; in here, it’s “WRadhoc”) and make sure you check in “This is a device-to-device (ad-hoc) connection”:
After clicking Next, you can set up whether you need encryption or not. If not, just set “Data encryption” to “Disabled” as can be seen in the following screenshot:
Note that you can use both WPA and WEP for encryption. I don’t discuss setting this up as only one client will be able to connect to your Windows Mobile device at a time – while it’s connected, there surely won’t be other clients connected to it. And, after you’ve ended your Net session, when you close Internet Sharing and/or disable Wi-Fi, no one will be able to connect any more either. That is, it's MUCH safer than traditional access points without any kind of encryption.
Finally, in the list of the available connections, tap-and-hold the just added network and select “Connect” from the context menu:
http://www.winmobiletech.com/092007WiFiDialup/AddNewNetwork4.png
Now, you’re ready to connect: just fire up your client and search for nearby networks, making sure you’re not only looking for access points, but also peer-to-peer (ad-hoc) networks. This (looking for both types of network) is the default with both desktop Windows Wi-Fi clients and those of Windows Mobile; other platforms might be needed to be manually instructed to list available ad-hoc connections too.
Your new ad-hoc network will be discovered; tap-and-hold the connection and select “Connect” in the context menu. Press Next on the next few dialogs that come up. After some seconds, the networks will connect.
Problems:
The connection was pretty slow with my Universal. The Wizard was even worse: the Wi-Fi connection continuously dis- and, then, reconnected, making for example Web browsing even slower. In these cases, assuming you ONLY want to access the Web (and not want to run, say, Instant Messaging clients on the client), you might still want to prefer my proxy server running on the modem.
As for example Hermes users reported far better results, it might be possible the speed depends on the actual modem used.
You MUST re-edit the Registry (preferably import one of the Registry scripts I’ve provided before) each time you press the Connect button in Internet Sharing. The sole reason for this is that, by default, Internet Sharing sets back the Registry to BT PAN when it’s connected.
Currently, there’s no solution to this problem. Hope fluxist will be able to hack the DLL file so that it doesn’t overwrite the Registry every time you initiate a connection (see THIS for more info if interested).
The hack doesn't work on the MS Smartphone platform - for example, on the HTC Vox / s710, which also has Wi-Fi. That is, you can't use MS Smartphones as Wi-Fi modems.
I can confim this method in HTC P3300 (Artemis) - settings are as the same as in Wizard, with Wi-Fi adapter name TNETWLN1.
Now I'm waiting to change pda into wi-fi card over usb, to share my dsl connected to desktop over wi-fi in pda to my laptop
Thanks for the confirmation!
BTW, does it work quickly on your Artemis?
I cannot get mines to work in this manner. I have the 6700. after making the necessary changes...my created connection, never connects. I did however get this to connect to a null wireless access point and work that way. it worked with registry set as btpan as well. as if my phone was a wireless cable modem providing the connection to my wireless access point. not sure how that happened all I know is it worked. I'm not really interested in that way though. I'd like to us the phone as the router. not have it connect to a router. which is what this topic is explaining how to do...but I can't get it to work.
Working
i got it going now. im using the connection right now. it may have been the usb wireless adapter i was using previously. something jus seemed different about it.
Patched Internet Sharing App after the weekend
Hope everyone is enjoying this hack I posted.
The dll that needs to be modified is currently working, thanks to Jimm98y. I just need to modify a few more things before I roll it up into a cab and post it. But I just had LASEK yesterday and Im not supposed to be using the computer (not easy), so it's gonna have to wait a few days before I can finish it. Expect it shortly. My hope is that it will become a standard replacement for IS in all cooked ROMs.
thanks

Great news!
(Could you please also drop me a PM when its out so that I can cross-post an announcement, should I forgot to follow this thread?)
i have 2 question wich rom should i be using to have acces to those option of IS cause on my current wm5 on hermes its not there,
2nd
2) Change HKLM\Comm\ConnectionSharing\PrivateInterface to "TIACXWLN1" (it should currently be "BTPAN1").
how do we do that ?
whats HKLM , i ask a noob question here hehehehe

I'm not sure about your first question but I'm pretty sure its possible with AKU 3 or later...don't hold me to that one though.
As for number 2 its quite simple. HKLM\Comm\ConnectionSharing\PrivateInterface is a registry key that needs to be edited using an registry editor. PHM Registry and Total Commander are just two programs that are able to do this. Using the registry editor just navigate to HKLM\Comm\ConnectionSharing\PrivateInterface and change BTPAN1 to TIACXWLN1. Sounds alot harder than it is.
Will test this out on the Herald and report back.Bigup to fluxist for this one
Cheers
EDIT: Its working on the herald but it is veryvery slow Nice to have as a backup plan though. And for the record the herald is using the SDIO WLAN Wireless adapter;the same as the Wizard. Also I wasn't able to connect more than one user even after editing the maxconnections...with this slow connection I wouldn't want to anyway.
I would love to test this out on a faster connection to see if there are improved speeds but I only have access to one type of connection. Anyone care to test on two different connections???

You mean for example UMTS / HSDPA vs. GPRS? I've tested it via UMTS (Universal); it was very slow.
That is, the bottleneck doesn't seem to be the cellular speed itself.
Interesting
But I dont really understand this.
This hack will allow your PDA to connect to the Wi-Fi network ... and share that connection to a PC (for example) via .... ?
Please if you can explain a little bit more detail
Hi, doesn't work with my Hermes. Made the settings ste by step. I get a Wifi-Ad-hoc connection to my Xbox360 but i don't get an IP-Adress on Xbox360
Same problem as PAPPL... the ad-hoc connects but the PC never receives an IP address via DHCP and gets stuck with an auto-config IP address...?
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Try to assign a static IP (let it be.. 192.168.1.2) with the same submask (255.255.255.0) and with gateway address as an IP address of your pda (in this tutorial: 192.168.1.1).

Nope, just the opposite: you can use your PDA as a modem via Wi-Fi. For example, if your client doesn't have BT PAN or USB (as is the case with the Xbox 360 or any Windows Mobile clients with the MS BT stack).

Thats a shame because this method is painfully slow, good to know though so people don't upgrade their connection for this reason alone. Although, it is better that nothing.
Given that this looks purely like a Registry change, might be worth putting a simple app together.
I have some C# knowledge, might give it a whirl. Might be possible to include a DHCP server in the package too??
On my T-Mobile Dash (WM6), just to see if it would work, I copied BTPAN1 to BTPAN1org for a backup, I copied the registry settings of TNETWLN1 over BTPAN1 and it works. Use the attached program to set the static ip on BTPAN1 (TNETWLN1 copy). The only thing I have noticed is that when I activate the connection sharing it still turns on the bluetooth, but I can turn it off in connmgr with no problem. Now I only have to enable ics like normal with the bluetooth pan setting, turn off bluetooth and turn on wifi, and establish the adhoc connection. The setting stay intact after disconnect and reboot, but I don't use bluetooth so I don't know if the settings in BTPAN1(TNETWLN1) are used in anything else.

Question about stealth tethering using WMWifiRouter on Sprint TP2 (WM6.5)

For the past couple of days, I've been reading numerous threads on how to tether on Sprint's Touch Pro 2 (Stock WM6.5). I ultimately decided to go with the latest WMWiFiRouter program trial (I'll purchase it if it works out good.) What I am confused about is, do I need to install the ICS_and_WModem_Fix.cab prior to installing WMWifiRouter, so that I can stealth tether? I don't want Sprint charging me. Also, do I need to do any of the reg edits if I plan on using WMWifiRouter? Thanks!

Nope just install and go. I've tested with the stock rom and it worked great.
AstainHellbring - I'll take your advice and install only the WMWifiRouter without installing any of the cabs. Thank you sir!
If this helps I've used wmwifirouter for a year or so on my verizon tp2 and I used USBmodem before that on my HTC Touch and never got charged anything for either, I'm guessing it'd be the same thing for sprint.
I was able to tether using the 3G to Wifi connection, without any issue. However, I am somewhat confused as to the steps to follow when tethering via 3G to USB. I don't have ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center on my laptop. Is it necessary to install this in order to tether using a 3G to USB (wired) connection with WMWifiRouter? I tried to tether (without running ActiveSync) this way by first starting the 3G to USB connection. After it finished loading and was ready to connect, I connected the USB cable from my phone to the laptop and Windows7 automatically loaded the RNDIS drivers. A connection was established and it allowed me to tether. What I'm confused about is, what am I supposed to select on the phone when it prompts me, (ActiveSync, DiskDrive or Internet Sharing)? And would selecting that option allow me to tether stealth? Lastly, when stopping the service, do I stop the tether from the program first and then disconnect the cable from the laptop or is there something else I need to do?

activesync or mobile device center is required to use wmwifirouter as it contains the drivers needed (vista and 7 have the MDC drivers and backend included, the extra thin gyo uinstall is just the GUI frontend)
when the dialog pops up asking if you want activesync, disk drive or internet sharing it doesnt matter what you choose, wmwifirouter will override the choice with its own connection
as for disconnecting, ive never had any issues with any means of disconnection (IE unplugging first or closing the app first)
Thank you defaultdotxbe. So if my laptop is running Windows 7, I don't need to install ActiveSync/Mobile Device Center since Windows 7 has the MDC drivers and backend included? If so, I guess that explains why I was able to tether without ActiveSync.
Personally, I noticed that the speed is higher when tethering with the USB cable compared to Wifi tethering. The phone also seems to get less warm.
Have any of you guys been able to compare the speed/stability tethering via USB using WMWifiRouter compared to USB tethering with the built in ICS?
the biggest difference ive found is that whenever the connection is lost with ICS you can reconnect the app, with wmwifirouter is automatically goes back to waiting for connection and reconnects without me having to do anything
and it gets less warm because just the cellular radio is going with USB, with wifi cellular and wifi are going (which also drains the battery faster)
wifi is nice when you just want to jump on for 5 minutes and look something up real quick, with USB im able to tether for 12 hours straight and still have 100% battery when im done

Don't try pushing the connection too hard then because mine dies/overheats a few times a day because I have it connected (usb) to my computer 24/7 for torrents... I've even tried putting a fan directly on the battery and it still locks up/dies at least twice a day.
Papaprem when it asks you how to handle the phone you don't have to do anything it will close on it's own in a few seconds.
em0rox, youre right, it does close on its own. Only problem is, it was using the stock IntShr.exe instead of the IntShrUI.exe file. The stock IntShr.exe file doesnt have the Network Connection selection box for Sprint/Phone As Modem. It just has the PC Connection box for USB or Bluetooth. Here is what I mean:

I basically had to make a copy of IntShrUI and rename it to IntShr.exe. Then I overwrote the stock IntShr.exe file with the renamed one. Now everything is good.

never had an issue, i dont use it for torrents or anything heavy though, just typical web browsing without having to worry about my office's proxy blocking me
i have occasionally had it overheat, but never lock up or anything (the LED flashes green and orange and the battery wont charge, i unplug it for a few mins and plug it back in and all is well)

Why bother with WMWiFiRouter when the HTC Wi-Fi Router program works just as well (and doesn't cost a thing)?
WMWifiRouter also allows USB and Bluetooth connections. It doesn't require any regedits also.

My airdroid has a problem too. It keeps connecting remotely, over the internet instead of locally over my wireless network. I've been using it for a long time and this started recently.
Any fix?
Why Remote Connection Mode when the device and PC are connected to the same network?

Hi, I am from AirDroid Team, here's our solution to this problem.
If your device and PC/laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network but AirDroid shows that you are in Remote Connection Mode, including 3 possible situations:
1. Sign in with AirDroid account, and it shows that you are in Remote Connection Mode.
2. Scan the QR code to sign in without AirDroid account, and it shows:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Sign in with AirDroid account, failed to build connection:

You may try the following two methods to check:
1. Ping command (Simple but not that accurate)
Open AirDroid on your device, the IP address of your device will be displayed here. For example, the IP is 192.168.20.60, and AirDroid is running on port 8888:
1) For Windows user, press “Win + R” to open Run command box, and run “cmd.exe”:
For Mac user, open the Terminal application in "Finder > Application > Utilities".
2) Type ping + IP (e.g. ping 192.168.20.60) and press Enter to see your ping output:
Read the summary of output:
(Windows)
or
(Mac)
All packets received and the trip time is short: Your device and PC are over same network, and network is stable.
Some packets lost or the trip time is long: Though your device and PC are over same network, the network is unstable. In this case, the connection mode is probably Remote Connection Mode. Try to connect again.
All packets lost: Your device and PC are not in the same network. Reboot the router or ask for help from network admin.
(Tip: Ping guide for other OS: http://www.wikihow.com/Ping-an-IP-Address)
2. Telnet command (Recommended)
1) For Mac user, go directly to Step 2. For Windows user, go to “Control Panel > Programs >Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off”, check “Telnet Client” to enable telnet command:
2) Go back to cmd.exe (or Terminal in OS X or Linux), type telnet + IP + port (e.g. telnet 192.168.20.60 8888), and press Enter:
If it displays as:
(Windows)
or
(Mac)
It means the network connection works fine, your device and PC are connected to the same network. The connection mode should be LAN Connection Mode.
Otherwise there are some problem with the network connection.
Try these methods to fix:
Check whether the firewall of your device blocks AirDroid service
Restart AirDroid if your device can access the network.
Connect to Wi-Fi again if your device cannot access the network.

Nexus 5 won't work with my WiFi network

Nexus won't connect to my WiFi network , I was using my nexus 5 without issues but today we upgraded the internet speed , and to be able to do it ,we had to get a new modem (besides the new data plan ) , the thing is now I can't get internet on my phone while connected to the WiFi , it connects but I can't do do anything , when I open the browser I get this message :
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

I can use WiFi with my laptop , and I tried everything I could ,I reset the modem , made a new network with new password etc , I changed the configuration of the router so that the network won't have WPS , I set the DNS values to the "Google ones " 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 , I don't know what do to do anymore :'(

That was also an issue ,if I connect the modem to the router where it should go ( and were it was before we upgraded the modem) , the hole says "internet " then I don't get internet , only when I put it in a "normal LAN hole"is that I get internet :/

Check Modem or Router settings for MAC filtering.
It's got to go in the int port or you won't have a dhcp server and only 1 device well be able to connect.
Wire it up correctly then turn both the modem and router off for a minute, then turn back on the modem and wait a couple of minutes or until the lights confirm it's connected, then turn on your router and wait a minute, then try connecting to it.

OK I put the modem cable in the "internet port " on the router , now I get no internet at all :/
Another question , should I put my second cable ( the one that goes to my roomate's laptop ) on the router or on the modem ?

if your modem has LAN ports then it's likely an all in one router/modem.. for basic setup just use that one
it gets complicated after that as how to set two up as you only want one to be serving ideally, and the 2nd as a wireless access point or client repeater..
sorry if I have your situation wrong

Disable MAC filtering if you have it enabled or add your Nexus 5 and other wireless devices MAC address to allowed section.

What?
Ok first shut down the modem and the router. Plug in the cable from the modem into the "internet" port on the router. Turn on everything and you should be all good.
Your roomtates laptop should be plugged into one of the LAN (the other 4 ports) on the router.
Go to your Nexus 5 Settings, look under WiFi for your router - are the settings correct & matched to those of your (new) router? What are they? Do you have another smartphone or tablet or wireless PC - connecting & working with this new router?
You might want to power down your router/modem, wait 5 or 10 minutes - then reboot it & wait for it to resync (DHCP or static IP) with all the network devices, including the N5? Make sure you have the SSID and security key or password saved or copied down first in case you have to restore them, including DNS settings.
Seeing that your location is Berlin - check to make sure your WiFi band(s) are set correctly on this new router.
Can you disable temporary your wireless security & connect openly with the N5?
Most modem/router can be reset to its factory default settings - read your manual & do it as a kind of last resort ... copy & save your current settings. Do these troubleshooting steps-by-steps & don't overlook the obvious - google/download/install/run "inSSIDer 3" by MetaGeek on a laptop or desktop with wireless access, it's a very user-friendly & useful diagnostic tool to analyze and troubleshoot network signals, etc.

Hey , no need to be sorry , you guys are bringing me in the right direction ... Sooo I checked my old modem and yeah it has a USB port, 2 telephone ports and a port named "Ethernet" whereas my new modem has just 2 telephone ports and 5 "LAN ports " , our internet company just gives a modem and if we want to have WiFi then we need to pay 2 euros more , my roommate had always used a modem +router combo but it looks like that won't work with this modem anymore , maybe the company got this new modem to make the set up process easier for people and of course to prevent people like us from getting WiFi with our own methods :/

So you, like you said, I have to use the new modem I got , I can't plug in a router, now checking my Provider's website I realise that there's two different devices, the one I have Hitron cve-30360 ( I assume is a model specifically built for my provider - Kabel Deutschland- is a "Cable-router and WLAN-Router" and there's another (more expensive) device homebox fritz box 6360, which is a "Modem, WLAN-Router, Server and Telephone System" so what's basically the difference between this two devices? To be honest I thought the device I had was a modem and it turns out it's a "Cable-router"

I had a read up, unfortunately most info is in German for me, but the info on the main site is indeed confusing
it does appear to be an all in one cable modem wifi router, check the features page, euro docsys3.0 compliant.. also the picture of the back shows a cable connector, so it has to be.
You should be able to connect everything to that wirelessly and wired.. you should of been supplied an ssid and password
edit, unless your cable company turned off the wireless and locked you out of the settings on the new device.. in that case connect the second router via the LAN and turn off the dhcp server in its settings.. edit...or set wireless access point, if it has it

Tethering device over wifi possible?

So basically I'm looking to use an old feature that I once had on my Blackberry 9790 which was to be able to tether my data connection of my phone to my computer via a wi-fi router. I can seem to find any app capable of doing this on android. I have an S5 and it has no innate feature capable of doing this.
Basically what I'm trying to do is connect to my phone using wifi (from pc to phone) and have my phone in a remote area where the signal is high since most of the area in my house has horribly low signal coverage I intend on putting my phone in an area where the signal is higher and connecting to my phone via my wireless router which is what i did with my 9790 blackberry a couple of years ago.
To be clear, I'm not trying to connect to use my phone as a hotspot in the conventional sense because that would mean I'd need a wireless adapter capable of incoming and outgoing connections of that type which is obviously not what a wireless router is capable of
you mean making your phone as a wifi hotspot?

What you described is exactly Wifi Tethering (or the so called Hotspot).

Umm, pretty much all wireless adapters can recive Wifi signal (802.11) of your phone. You maybe confused it with Bluetooth.
Anyways this app, FoxFi, can do everything you want with or without root. You can transfer internet to your PC with wifi, bluetooth or even USB!

Okay let me explain this in practical use. I can't make my phone hotspot and connect to the hotspot via my router. Majority of routers cannot take on internet connection via wifi but can push general connections including internet. That being said, I would need a wifi adapter (dongle) to connect to my phone's hotspot (which I dont have). Which leads me to the question I asked which is how does one tether one's device via WiFi? There's a very subtle difference between tethering via hotspot and tethering as mentioned above. Just like my blackberry, it could only connect in this manner with the blackberry desktop app and could not do this through any other program. Basically what I'm asking if there's any app combination that will make this possible? (NO HOTSPOTS)
ill try to review this once i get home.. im still confused on what you are trying to mean..

I think you mean how to bridge a wifi connection? Bridging is basicly you connect your phone to a internet-enabled device and the phone than shares the internet even further.
If this is not the case, please draw what you mean. Like this:
