[Q] Bluetooth keyboard doesn't change orientation with me - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi
I am trying this Apple bluetooth keyboard on my Optimus 2x with cm7 RC1
The keyboard works fine, for instance, if I opened the app launcher and press arrowkeys, it works fine, but when i open a game or anything that changed the orientation, when pressing arrowkeys it still moves as if the phone didnt change orientation
When the phone is in portrait: I press up it goes up, i press left it goes left
When the phone is in landscape: I press up it goes left, i press left it goes down
What should i do? is it the rom? or is android just like that

Bump
no body knows?

Touch Pro onscreen keyboard landcape with slider closed?

Sometimes I like using the virtual keyboard instead of the hardware keyboard but would prefer to use it in landscape mode. Is it possible to have the virtual keyboard up in landscape mode without having to open the slider? I tried GSen but that didn't work and reading about Gyrator it seems causes more problems than it cures.
Basically I would like to start a new text message (or e-mail) turn the phone and have it switch to landscape.
Second, does the hardware keyboard have a 'punch through'? On my old T-Mobile Dash (WM 6.1) I could hold down a button and have the symbol pop up on screen instead of the letter - saves me from having to hit the "function" key. This works on the TP in virtual mode but not with the hardware keyboard, can this be enabled? Right now holding down the button merely makes the letter repeat like on a laptop.

I personally use Gyrator2, I do exactly what you are wanting to do. If you set it up correctly it really is a usefull app.
Second question, No clue.
gyrator 2 works great once you tell it what programs not to work in
it does exactly what you want in texts
You can also "move" your keyboard around the screen with this hack:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\SIP and change the value of Dragstyle from 0 to 1, followed by a soft reset.
You can grab it and move it anywhere on the screen you like after.

i saw that hack but is it in anyway useful ? or just amusing
Thanks for the replies. I just installed Gyrator2 and it does indeed do what I'm asking for! I think I need to get a little deeper into it though as it does some things I wasn't expecting (switch the calling screen to landscape after taking a call etc.) but so far, so good!

How to flip screen

So I've got PocketGBA installed, and it runs much smoother than Morphgear. The problem is, that when you set it to run in landscape, which is known as "vertical" mode for some reason, the screen is upside down. So you'd have the keyboard out, but the games run upside down.
Is there anyway to fix this, or a program to set screen orientation temporarily or whatever?
Thanks
I actually just play it that way, leaving the keyboard slid out on the top and assigning the keys.
Assigning keys this way is wierd, because with the keyboard open the onscreen buttons are off. So what I do, is with the keyboard closed... select your first key to assign, then slide the keyboard open and press a button.
You should see the button press take. To continue, close the phone then select another onscreen button to assign, open keyboard and press the selected physical button to map it.
Do this for all the required button assignments, opening and closing the keyboard each time. Once your done you shouldn't have to do it anymore.
Then just play with the keyboard open, with the screen facing you.
A fix would be nice though, but I don't know if the author of PocketGBA is still around or is the source is even available any more. It seems that there isn't an interest in working emulators for PocketPCs anymore. The ones we have are YEARS old and are bug prone. Finding the right Emulator is finding one that has bugs you can live with.

I don't think that will work. It is the PocketGBA software that rotates the screen. Even if you forced the screen to display the orientation correctly, I think the program will have all the touchscreen interface offset (just like what happens when you open the keyboard). I will try it though.

Bottom keys backlight issue

Hello guys.
I want to ask you regarding Home/Back/Green/Red keys backlight, that is often on,while in suspend state with slided-out keyboard.
IOW:
- keyboard slided out
- backlight of bottom keys is ON
- while suspend the backlight goes NOT OFF(sometimes is it working normally)
This happens with WM6.1,WM6.5 as well.
Can someone help with this?
Is anyone else having this same issue? I can confirm that it is happening to me on the stock ROM/RADIO and on EnergyROM 3.0 and the latest ATT radio.
I go to check my messages using the slide out keyboard, and when I'm done I put the phone in standby and close the keyboard, the DPAD backlight is still lit. To 'clear' it, I have to turn the phone on again and press a button on the DPAD (like the center button) and then turn the phone off.
This isn't a show-stopper or anything, but it sure does worry me that one day I'll put my phone in my pocket and take it out at the end of the day with an empty battery... Any help would be most excellent!
Thanks!

Landscape Tilewave in Topaz?!

I've installed the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Panel Manager plus the tilewave panel from HTCPedia's site (made by Ark_N)
it seems to me that tilewave only works in portrait mode on Topaz, i've tried to install Gyrator 2 and see if i can get to the landscape mode, but in vain. Tilewave seems to hang at the middle of the rotation.
Could someone advise on how to have tilewave in landscape mode on Topaz?
I have to hold end key to rotate the screen, which you can set in settings>personal>buttons. I've had it freeze a few times, but it works every now and then. It may simply be that this is beta software, so when a more recent version comes out, it might work
did u mean gyrator is the app that u mapped ur end key to?
no, go to settings>personal>buttons> then tap the button you want to map it to, and select<rotate screen> It has the little brackets around the word. I think that is how to get there, I'm going from memory. Also you have to hold it down for a few seconds
thx, it worked, foolish am i

[Q] screen freezes on appdrawer and home

Ok so I couldn't find anyone having the same issue in the Leedroid rom thread, so I figured I would ask here.
Does anyone elses screen freeze on the app drawer or home screens and only unfreezes when you pull the notification bar down?
I have tried turning the screen off and then back on and going into the app drawer changing the home screen (only freezes when I get to that point).
It doesn't happen all the time either. And it has been happening since the phone was stock and even now as it is rooted. I'm trying to say, I will press power button, slide lock ring, enter pattern, screen will show up, try to spin to another home screen but screen will not move, touch buttons work and volume works and power works but screen will not move. Press app drqwer and it opens but will not move either.....drag the notification bar down and everything works again.....
