I tried on my old Sony Ericsson's earphones and iLuv earphones and you know what? Sound is equal on both but only when volume control is set to max on iLuv earphones. I can only decrease volume with iLuv.
Don't know if this is the case with iLuv only... I want to get ZAGG's smartphones. Maybe their features will work with my Desire S.
Mh, good to know.
Could you tell me if volume control works with non-smartphone devices like mp3 players? Thanks
Even if it does not amplify sound, it could be an asset to me.
Otherwise I'm getting tired of looking for a in-ear with volume control.. it's impossible to find one without spending lots of money.

What's the best in-ear headphones with a mic and a button to answer/end and go to next/prev track? $50 max
Thanks
I was about to mention Shure, but with that budget you better stick to the stock headphones. They are not that bad...
I'm looking for the buds that block out sound... Like on the Apple in-ear headphones.

Apologies for the cost, but $50 is seriously pushing it for quality headphones.
If you can spare the extra cash... Check out the Klipsch Image S4's. They're ~$80, but get HUGE props for the cost:quality ratio. I bought em, and amd SO glad I did.
You will not find better at,or near, that range... and you'll find absolutely nothing close under it. The added benefit is quite good noise cancellation capability.

These don't have anything for handling media built-in unfortunately. There's a $100 version, but do note they won't work with anything except Apple products. (I almost wasted the extra $20 before doing my research)
Honestly... I don't think ANYTHING exists with everything you're looking for.. (Not at any price near what you're expecting...) Do you do any research before setting a price limit?
Seriously, just stick with the stock headphones and deal w/ no phone interaction. To get headphones w/ the capabilities you're looking for would be well out of your range.
Those Shure headphones are fantastic and do a great job blocking out the sound.
I do have to disagree with the post above regarding not being able to find something for under $50 with good sound quality and noise cancellation qualities.
As I post this I'm listening to music on my Altec Lansing Backbeats in ear earbuds.
http://www.alteclansing.com/uhp206-backbeat-plus-earphones-for-iphone-ipod-MP3-players.html
They are comfortable, have good noise cancellation (by my standards), and have excellent sound quality.
I think they have a great range and the bass doesn't muddy the audio. Best of all (in my opinion) they have cloth cables and don't gave that goofy "one side is 3 times longer than the other so you can wear em behind your head" feature.
They do everything you asked about EXCEPT they cannot hang up a call. :-(
Not a problem as this doesn't really matter to me since I can hang up on the phone or wait for the other party to disconnect.
Bought mine at my local Apple store. They have a 14 day return policy and are $49.95.
I love my Apple In Ear Headphones.

The mic works great, comes with three sizes of rubber pads, and they are a super comfortable fit.
The buttons work with MixZing but not Music Player. Maybe someone has a plugin or drivers to support native features like volume control.
But the quality of the headphones themselves are way up there. Fantastic audio.
^ I have these now and the buttons DO work for me with the stock music player.. Just not the volume buttons. I'm too crazy about the sound quality and I"m looking for "one step up" from these...
These get great reviews over at head-fi.org
And some of you might think we are obsessed about our phones. The people over there are a notch higher on the totem poll... LOL!
Well the 'phones that came with my Trophy have decent inline controls however they are not very comfortable and sound, well, awful.
So I'm wondering if anybody out there tried using iPhone compatible headphones with a WP7 headset?
I was looking at the SkullCandy Full Metal Jackets today but don't really want to splash out until I know if they'll work with my Trophy.
Thanks
I use sony MX710 with my Mozart rich bass and excellent sound, look on ebay for them a decent price of about £12.00
Ipod headphones work pretty well. You can use the + and - to adjust volume, or press in the middle to stop music or start music. It is not possible to skip songs.

...but iPod headphones are known to be absolutely awful sound-wise are they not?
Yes they do, but the response answers my question.
So, iPhone controls will work in a limited capacity.
Actually I just borrowed some off a work mate and the standard iPhone controls only do Play/Pause/Answer on my Trophy, no volume control.
Bummer..... Looks like I'll be waiting on someone to provide a fully functional version of MS to change the software to work with the most common accessory set available.

hope it helps

The in ear headphones have average sound. Those are the only headphones I have with controls. Just to see if it will work. I'm now using one from sony but can't change the sound with it so I have to grab my phone everytime.
Good morning/afternoon/evening,
I am looking for a set of headphones as I am going on a long plane flight next weekend, now I need these to be in a store cause they probably won't get to me by when I leave Friday so please don't suggest amazon.
I am looking for the following specifications to work with my fascinate:
- In ear head phones
- Volume up/down button on head phones (that work)
- Microphone so I can be on a phone call with them in (I will pay extra for these)
-Noise canceling (not mandatory but highly preferred)
I have been looking at these Beats by Dr. Dre - Diddy Beats (Can't link as I don't have eight posts yet) as a possible solution but I just do not know if they are fully functional with the fascinate and I don't want to spend $100 for a set of headphones that will only be partially noise canceling and not get any of the other features. So does anyone know if these headphones can adjust volume and I can talk on them on a fascinate as an Iphone would or is there another pair that does this?
All input is greatly appreciated!
Thank you
May I suggest anything by Sennheiser?
They're known for good quality headphones overall.
Im pretty sure the ibeats with mic aren't compatable to use with mic. I use a$ 80 pair of klipsch s4 headphones. They are excellent. Google and check out some reviews. Although they have no volume control. Good luck.

Klipsch makes an S4i that has volume control and a mic. I just bought some sennheiser MX680's for the gym and they were terrible. I exchanged them for some sennheiser CX300 ii's, much better quality buds. I bit bassy, but good.
If the CX300's didn't work out i was going to go with the klipsch S4's, they are a bit more but from what i've heard they are worth it, and a very very high quality bud.
The s4i's do not control volume on the Fascinate.
The S4s are excellent headphones for the money and mine are still in one piece after a year of heavy use, but I can't comment on if the S4i controls the volume
I have the in ear beats and if u use the right ear piece (comes with like 5) then it cancels well idk if volume up down works with our phone

My stock HTC headset stopped working, and now i'm looking for a replacement. I like the sennheiser mm 30i, but i'm not sure the remote works correctly, can anyone confirm this? Could you also suggest something else with similar characteristics?
All HTC headphones maybe same like this, now I'm using I Phone4 headphone its working good and with small remote. Try it if u wnat...

I just bought a set of Dre Beats that comes with the new HTC Sensations off eBay, many people who have bought the phone and don't want to listen to their music on it are selling the earphones for upto £50.
I use a set of Beyer Dynamic MMX100 In-ear phones/headset- excellent set of headphones, I find Sennheisers to be slightly too transparent/tinny and all Beyers seem to be slightly warmer- good enough for the majority of the music industry/music studios etc then good enough for me
They are usually £120 RRP, but if you look on Amazon.co.uk, one seller has them in stock and selling them for £79.99 with free delivery (Amazon currently selling them for £102.11).
I use Dr Dre Beats Tour headphones, they're very good sound quality and the mic works, a little on the expensive side though.

I thin you must try Smartphone Experts Stereo Headsets (3.5mm).
It has good sound quality.
It combines integrated headset technology with a stereo sound isolating design to deliver rich, detailed sound while blocking outside noises.

I have a pair of Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket with mic and they work great. They are not expensive and they remote works with call and music. Not a bad choise if you want something cheaper
Stay away from Iphone compatible gear with analog volume control, i.e. trim pot, they be mono on HTC Desire. My own experience...
considering the Dr. Dre Beats!
Dr.Dree beats headphones, i tried Monster Beat headphones and they are fantastic I will try my best to get them here it is 50 euros, because a lot of people didn't wanted headphones
Sony Ericsson MW600 - my choice. comfortable and good quality.
Suggest you check out the HTC RC-E190 flat cabled in-ear headset. It is HTC branded from Expansys and has remote controls for calls and music which work well with Desire. It is available on Amazon for £10.28 with free shipping too. Decent quality too.
Ultimate Ears 400vi are also decent In-Ear headphones and they work well with the desire.
Sony Ericsson MW600 +1
Can't believe no one mentioned Jays?
Their value is amazing. Not the best In-Ear headphones at all, but considering their price they're amazing. Most audiophile forums I've checked find them to be better than Beats by Dre's in-ear series. I'm not a big fan of Beats (you don't get alot for your money, unlike Grado).
Check out a-JAYS One+ (the plus makes the difference). They come with a mic + remote (control button) and an app so you can decide what the button does. Standard settings are:
1 click: Music; pause/play - Call; answer/hang up
2 clicks: Music; next track - Call; reject call
1 click+hold, 2 clicks+hold and so on.
Got 'em myself. Works like a charm. And the sound is amazing.
Is there any remote control for Desire, which allows me to plug in my own headphones? I want something like the Nokia music controller. I don't need any mic, only volume controls (of the phone, not only of headphones!) suffy. Thanks
I'm in the market to buy some headphones for my s5, but most of the headphones that i have owned in the past, the buttons (play, volume up, down) doesn't work with the android. Are there any good headphones that are compatible with s5, with sound quality that are worth looking at?
