Are you using a stock LG ROM?
There's a way to smali hack a fix to disable it

I use lightning bug which serves me as clock as well. The popup is seriously disturbing!
I wrote a Tasker task which dismisses the crap.

Interference between SMS Pop up and noLED

So I've been running noLED on my Nexus S for a while now and just decided to add the app SMS Popup. The problem is that when my phone is sleeping and I get a text I no longer get the notification icon from noLED only, I also get the message pop up and the buttons on it (reply and close) stay active.
I wish that when my phone was sleeping and I got a text I only got the "notification light" from noLED and once I unlocked the screen I'd see the SMS pop up. Does anyone know of a way to reach that? Maybe another app would behave accordingly? Thanks
Under the miscellaneous setting in noled check the option to delay SMS notifications. Works great for me.
That said the pop-up won't be there when the phone is unlocked. Just for the I initial screen on.

Thanks for the tip but that doesn't really help me achieve what I want.
Maybe I could try another SMS program? (Handcent, etc) Opinions/experiences would be great.
I don't think the app matters. The way I understand it is noled will "dismiss " any popup occupying the screen in order to work.
Let me know if you find something though as its an option I'd love to have myself.

Tried Handcent, Chomp, tried even using Widget Locker and it was a no go.

[Q] Anyway to turn off the charge complete notification sound?

Anyway to turn off the charge complete notification sound? Could someone throw this into a mod maybe? or is there something I can edit (I'm rooted) to disable it?

I'm trying to find the edits that are required to completely disable it. I found one, but I believe there are more that need made to completely get rid of it.
over on androidcentral, they talk about using hidden menu option...

I haven't tried it, but I'd imagine it's an alternative for now...

[Q] What is the name of the App that controls notifications

I'm looking for the Application that flashes the buttons at the bottom of the screen. For Notifications.
I need the name of the app and how to find it so I can delete it or disable it.
I think this is causing all my reboot problems
How many of those apps do you have running? Go to settings/applications/manage applications then click running... it's probably the app that has the word LED in it...
Freeze it and see what happens.

Couldn't find one with LED in it. One called LGE though.
You talking about "LG 2X/Black Notifications"?

I'm not sure? Whatever app controls the notifications to flash my home, back, search, and menu buttons when I have a text or email.
I'm just trying to pinpoint why the phone keeps turning off all the time.
Thanks for your help
It's called LED Me.

Widgetlocker problem

Hi,
Since two days I'm a happy and proud Note owner, but there's one thing, that makes me really go crazy:
I installed the program "Widgetlocker", because the standard lockscreen is quite broing. It actually works quite good, but sometimes the standard lockscreen still apears. Not instead of the widgetlocker, but additional. So I always have to unlock two lockscreens.
Does anybody else has got this problem? And how can I fix it?
I tried to find a solution in different forums and in the program configuration, without sucess!
Thanks for help!
Edit: The error apears mostly when there's a pop-up (gtalk e.g.) or when I plug in the charger....
I turned on root helper and home helper in settings, that fixed it for me. I'm on Stock Rooted XXKK9 if that helps.

I presume you have set the lock screen to "none" in the actual phone settings too?

It IS really irritating. Sometimes it's OK, but other times it just comes on.
Have turned off the lock screen option, but same thing happens. Someone please help!

My widgetlocker works fine. Been using it since day 1. Hmm.. Sorry. Not sure how to help.
chrcad,
Your problem seems related to the fact that Android is not having enough memory left ans simply closes "useless" apps and considers that WL is part of them. To prevent that to happen, simply check in advanced settings the "refuse to suspend WL" box and Android will look another application than WL to close

Thanks @ everybody for the help, but unhappily it's still not working properly.
The problem always apperas, when the phone's sleeping and a gTalk message comes in.... but ONLY, when the gTalk ppop-up is activated......
Any (more) idea?
you are leaving it running all the time aren't you?
I use to have the same problem, very rarely but it was still annoying. I have put a lock on widgetlocker so if I ever close all programs, widgetlocker is still running. It's not happened since but it's only been a few days so I'll see.

Some pop-ups cause this if they're designed to appear underneath the stock lockscreen rather than dismiss it.
For now:
1) Easy Wake Mode disables the system lockscreen
2) WL Settings > Long-press volume down for Experimental > Aggressive Dismiss stock lockscreen. This should work, but it's not well tested yet so it's off by default.

Talking text notification

Ok, first of all I know this is going to sound dumb. The other day when I'd get a text message my phone would tell me with a voice that I've received a message and who it was from. Now it's not doing it. It just started doing it then stopped after a few days Did I turn off a setting or something? I'm stock rooted with Google now and wallet. Any ideas?
That's either driving mode or you messed with the accessibility settings. It's more than likely that you activated Driving Mode which is the notification bar and is very easy to tap accidently.

Yup, probably driving mode (although I don't know what driving mode is supposed to do other than announce texts/calls)

yep, that was it. Thanks
I'd also like to know why they have put in a separate switch for this.. shouldn't it be incorporated into the dock mode?

Because not everyone has a dock for their phone when driving.
I had this happen to me when i pressed anything while in chrome. I guess it was "Missed It!" interfering or something. Weird.
