TW4.5? - HTC Sensation

Edit: look in the atrix forums if there are any tw4.5 fans in here they fixed the apk to work better
Is there anyway to get fr4ggors tw4.5 to work for the sensation I actually like touchwiz and find that launcher real snappy on the sensation only problem is the resolution is messed up and there is a giant blank spot in between the dock and homescreen area
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

Short answer: no.
Long answer: noooooooooo. We can't even do anything on the phone until we are rooted with an unlocked bootloader. Luckily, we have temp-root and it should only be a little while before they crack the bootloader and give us permroot and the ability to flash custom recoveries, kernels, radios, ROMs, etc. At which point I would ask your question again and hopefully someone can answer. I know Sense can't be ported to non-HTC devices, and I have never seen TW on non-Sammy devices, so I don't think it's doable. Would be cool though, variety is awesome.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

Tw4.5 was ported by fr4ggor to all phones but on the sensation the resolution is just messed up because its too high but yes your right should have waited till we are rooted but just so you know the porting part has been done just a matter of fixing resolution can't wait till we have root so I can dump sense its just too much of a resource hog imo the wait is on

Oh cool man thanks for the info. I got sick of TW on my Vibrant, but after not having it for so long I'd like to mess around with it again.

This one is from the galaxy s 2 its smooth and you can dock it like launcher pro and theme it it really should be a launcher all on its own

Gingerbread Launcher?

I tried installing the Gingerbread launcher from the Market. When I go to the appdrawer it's all offset to left of the screen, It looks like it hasnt been fitted for our screens yet, Is there anyway anyone can fix that?
i dont know, probably could be fixed but not sure how. Have you tried launcher pro ? you can get a gingerbread dock on there looks the same to me.
Maybe you could shoot Eugene373 a kite and ask for some Sensation 4g support...?

I doubt we get this in any update. We will more than likely have to rely on one of the custom ROMs here for this. Keep in mind, I haven't read anything about it either way, that is just my opinion.
it's uggly..sense 3.0 so much better
Dont like the unlock ring

Check out the latest CoreDroid rom
I.m running CoreDroid 2.3. They put together a sweet rom w/ (As the dev put) "Sense 3.5 Goodies".
In my opinion I think it looks pretty good with maybe the exception of the home screen rosie dock. not a fan, but I suppose a rom, or even a theme could fix it. It looks like its running pretty smoothly too! I likee
I got the inside word that its already been booted on the Desire HD looking forward to that
I am sceptical, don't see the about phone screen which tells you the sense version, wouldn't that be one of the first things you would show, even photoshoped to look authentic ;-).
I have seen moded phones already that look similar to this, that are sense 3.0
its been ported to htc desire HD!! if we wait a while im sure to see it on sense devices

Android 4.0

Soooooo, ever since the release of the nexus galaxy sporting the new adroid 4.0, i wondered, will we get the update, and if not, is there a way to replicate the look of the deivice theme wise,i love the way it looks!
HTC has not confirmed nor denied the Inspire will be getting ICS. I'd bet not, and if we do it will take a LONG time, or one of the devs here will port it.
In the mean time, if you head over to the Android Development and Hacking section, and check out the Android Themes sub-forum there are a lot of different launchers and themes with ICS flavoring.

I agree with him on the themes portion. There are MANY themes that are ICS, and many of them work well, and look VERY smooth.
Concerning ICS and the HTC Inspire. Looking at the specifications of the Galaxy Nexus, the Inspire has the internal components that can handle ICS. The processor for the Inspire is faster than the Galaxy, and so on. The only difference between the two is that the Inspire has dedicated soft keys on the home screen, whereas the Galaxy Nexus will have the home screen buttons as part of ICS itself.
Also, after talking to HTC, they're currently looking into how they can roll out ICS updates for as many phones as possible. I also read somewhere that most of, if not all, 2.3 phones WILL receive the update. Until then, continue looking at the forums and wait until a recognized developer ports to Inspire. Hope this helps!

Not sure where you got your information from but this isn't even close to be correct.
But, I'm sure we will see ICS on the Inspire fairly soon after Google releases the source. Whether its from the CM team or a different dev.

I wish all we had to worry abut was when HTC was gonna release it but we have to wait for ATT as it will be them that finally releases an official release for our phones. It may not happen and we will have to use a port from the DHD which only has to wait for the HTC
thank yoiu alll! and i didnt know we could go to the general android theme section and use themes from there lol, i thought we had to use the themes in our designated section only

That's a bummer. I've got 2 years before I can upgrade again. Its going to be a long wait.
Well they're already working on a port for the dhd, but I've heard that it doesn't work on the inspire but there's still a very good chance that we'll get sometime in the near future.

I do lol there are issues with cm roms that prevent me from using it as a daily. But if we don't get it then ill just have to wait lol
Biggest problem with CM Roms is battery. Only thing I miss about sense Roms is not having to charge halfway through the day.

Ok hmm thats odd as CM based roms do seem to have better battery then sense roms. I can get through a full day of normal use without charging.

(REQ) TouchWiz

Hey guys, I don't know if or how many times this
question has been asked, but is it possible for any
awesome developers out there to make a port of TouchWiz?
If not could someone please tell me the implications?
Thanks guys.
I don't know, guys who have an htc hate samsung XD jk
I haven't seen any rom based on touchwiz, I think that is very hard to port...like is hard to port sense on non htc devices...
but I think someone else could tell you more
Funny, I have touchwiz and want a sense port.

TouchWiz on HTC? Travesty!
But that would be cool to have just to joke with friends with galaxies.

just search for TouchWiz Launcher and use that.
Why bother?, if you want touchwiz, buy a Samsung phone
Sense is better looking than touchwiz anyway IMO
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
I'd say its possible you would just have to convince a dev that it would be worth it

I will admit I like TW features like swipe to call in mms which the S3 is improving on. But Sense is a much more visually appealing and "classier" setup in my opinion.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
I like sense, but it always has too much eye candy
and TouchWiz looks like a more polished, lighter
launcher.
Anyways, could someone at least tell me how to get
started on porting the it? Who knows, I might have a bit of luck
with it
Thanks guys.
Cant wait to go back to samsung <3
GS3 im coming!
Sensation was my first and last HTC
Isn't TW just like cyanogenmod?

Easiest way to get the touchwiz look would be to design a touchwiz theme for AOSP and make the launcher work. Either way, touchwiz looks childish to me.
i actually like touchwiz more than sense, it might not look better than sense but it is hell a lot faster than sense

Agreed, HTC ***ked it up with all of its social integrations and epicly useless bloatware. Just running cyanogenmod gives me much better quadrant scores than on HTC sense.

It's nothing close to CyanogenMod... CyanogenMod is pure stock Android. TouchWiz is Samsung's UI overlay and associated apps.
